Infinity Ward has just revealed details on the new perk system

Call of Duty®: Ghosts introduces a Perk system with an incredible level of customization. While we went into some detail during the Multiplayer Reveal, let’s take a closer look so you’re ready to go at launch this November:

Equipping Perks

Each of the 35 available Perks is weighted with a point value of 1 through 5. Your loadouts naturally have a pool of 8 points to spend on Perks, up to a total of 12 depending on your loadout choices.

In addition to the initial 8 points, a single Perk point is tied to the Primary Weapon slot, Secondary Weapon slot, Lethal and Tactical. Take away any one of these items for an additional Perk point, allowing a maximum of 12 points to spend. If you’re a Perk fanatic, you’re welcome to forego all weapons and equipment, starting each spawn with only a knife in hand and 12 points worth of Perks. It’s your choice.

Perk Unlock System

Perks are unlocked in one of two ways. Each Perk is marked with a level and a Squad Point cost. Once you reach the listed level, the Perk is automatically unlocked for use. If you’d rather unlock a Perk early, you can also choose to spend the listed amount of Squad Points for immediate access. Can’t wait to unlock Blast Shield for your Domination matches? Pay the listed Squad Points ahead of time and it’s yours to use.

Perk Categories

Each Perk belongs to one of seven different Perk Categories. Mix and match as you see fit to create a near unlimited number of loadout combinations, from quick and stealthy to tough and armed to the teeth.

Speed
Outrun and outmaneuver enemy players. Speed Perks are all about getting the lead and staying ahead. Examples include:

Sleight of Hand: Faster reloading.
Stalker: Move faster while aiming.

Handling
Dexterity and control drives the Handling Perks, improving actions and accuracy. Examples include:

On the Go: Reload while sprinting.
Steady Aim: Increased hip fire accuracy.

Stealth
Stealth Perks aid you in staying out of sight, maintaining a low profile and engaging on your terms. Examples include:

Takedown: Kill enemies without revealing their death locations.
Incog: Resistant to targeting systems including: Recon, Thermal Scope, Tracker Sight and Motion Sensor. No name or red crosshairs when targeted.

Awareness
Keep in tune with your surroundings. Awareness Perks help you survey the environment and detect enemy players. Examples include:

SitRep: Detect enemy explosives and tactical equipment.
Wiretap: Utilize all active enemy and friendly SAT COMs on the field.

Resistance
A hardened endurance reduces the effects of fatigue. Resistance Perks keep you going through tough engagements. Examples include:

Focus: Reduced weapon sway when aiming down sights and reduced flinch when hit.
Blast Shield: Increased resistance to explosive damage.

Equipment
Tacticians swear by their gear, and Equipment Perks ensure you have the best tools on hand. Examples include:

Extra Tactical: Additional Tactical equipment.
Extra Attachment: Extra attachment for your weapons.

Elite
Elite Perks offer special abilities that affect your loadouts in a variety of ways. Examples include:

Gambler: Spawn with a random Perk.
Ping: Activate a sonar ping upon killing an enemy, revealing nearby hostiles.

With so many options available, you’re bound to see an incredible amount of variety in your multiplayer matches. As always, keep experimenting and fine tuning with all your loadouts in the endless journey to create the perfect Squad.

Ping is going to be ridiculous.

    • dotflowing

Exactly what gone thru my mind when I read it. Probably will be nerfed down quickly.

    • TheShadowReaper

      yeah, like deadeye looks better.

    • Primey_

Depends on how big the ping is IMO

      • Work hard Twerk harder

I always thought the lower the ping the better
        hehehe…

        • Primey_

I see what you did there.

    • Sentrymann

I don’t know, I’m pretty sure Off the Radar will counter it. If you’re not already going to use that, then you’re going to be found by the 24/7 “Enemy satcom spotted!” anyway.

    • HenryDF

There are lots of perks here that benefit the skilled player, and you have to be a skilled player to make the most of them. With Ping, you have to be able to maintain a solid streak to make the most of it – if you get killed or outgunned the moment you go chasing after the enemies, it’s pointless.

    • ccrows

That was my initial reaction too at first, but then I thought the same about sensor grenades before BO2 launched – which IMO was kinda useless.

Anywhoo.. Ping looks good on paper for now… 😉

    • you whiny baby

WOW already crying about a game that hasn’t come out yet, what a pussy.

      • Jon Cameron

You took what I said out of context, you attention whore.

  • Manx Mouse

i don’t know how i feel about danger close…i hope it doesn’t increase noob tube damage.

    • MrJDGuns1

the description of it in the final build says lethal grenade damage.

      • Manx Mouse

        oh good lol

      • Bmeowmix

Just lethals? For four points? Sounds like a rip-off

    • Emrah Avvurur

I hope it does, ******* 3arc nerfed the noobtubes so much, i just hate it!

      • Manx Mouse

i don’t want the noob tubes to be MW2 powerful…that was horrible

        • Emrah Avvurur

          (My opinion!)
I think noobtubes are fun when they’re so powerful,
          Never really played MW2 MP.

          • Bmeowmix

You should probably play more MW2 then before you ask for higher damage grenade launchers…

      • Siftblade of Rivia

I wish it shot little flares, and in exactly three seconds, a strike team will fly over and drop bombs on the location. LOL that’ll fuck everything up.

        • Emrah Avvurur

          WTF that’s F’ed up

          • Siftblade of Rivia

            ikr

  • Poplur33

Detailed? They didn’t even explain each perk

    • dotflowing

The title actually says it will detail the system, not the perks…

      • Poplur33

        Wiretap is gay

        • Batman

          Wiretrap is awesome

    • Manx Mouse

i guess we are gonna have to wait till nov 5th.

  • Sentrymann

Here is my plan. Remove all equipment and all weapons, take just a knife with 12 perks, while running specialist. Just pick up weapons as you find then, while running over 12 perks like a crazy genetically engineered super solider.

    • Blastors

Combat knife is now a primary weapon as far as I know.

      • jordanxbrookes

Yeah it’s listed in the Primary Weapons, plus you can pick the combat knife up from the ground.

      • Emrah Avvurur

If you remove your primary it will show you a combat knife on your primary slot.

      • Diego Diniz

Combat knife is the ULTIMATE FIGHT KILLER MACHINE on Black Ops 2…
Better than ANY Gun of the Game!!! ahahahaha

    • gottabreathe

If you’re running specialist, you’ll be earning all your perks anyways and this will come much easier spending one point on your primary (2 attachments are free) and the other 11 on perks.

      • not all perks will be able to be utlized threw specialist e.g. MW3 but to an extent you have a point because how many times are you going to die before you find “a gun” on the ground! Though does sound kind of fun!!!!!!!

        • ONE BAR

In MW3 you earned all the perks after 8 kills.. Did you never get an 8 kill streak?

          • Really wasn’t aware you gained overkill! As a perk once you got specialist so does this mean in Ghost you will get all the PERKS under Equipment “NO” fucking troll know what your saying next time you just decide to randomly respond and for your answer if “I’ve gotten a 8 kill streak” AlmostAverageGamers on YouTube!

          • ONE BAR

Is English not your first language? Also, how is going to some youtube channel going to prove anything?

          • Really a grammar reply? That’s all you have? You must be 15-17yo. The point was you were wrong. The reason I gave you the YouTube was to verify my “8kill streak” but it’s useless to reply to a child you don’t comprehend right and wrong, I’m sure mommy and daddy prob never tell you no, and that your always right! Have fun with that! I won’t reply after this.

          • ONE BAR

Haha okay. You figured me out. The point is you can’t prove that is you… “e.g.” Look up ProdigyNelson on YouTube.

          • Carson

actually, the way specialist works in this game is the same as MW3, but after getting your bonus, you get 8 perks of your choice rather than all of them.

    • James K

Like Black Ops 2, it’s good on paper but the hassle playing gun roulette everytime you die is tedious.

      • Sentrymann

I have a feeling that will be the case…

      • Bmeowmix

Hopefully the knives are less shitty in this game so you CAN kill people who have guns

        • Emrah Avvurur

See, first I couldn’t stop complaining about knifing being so bad, since I am a knifer,
But now I think it is Okay, It’s so annoying when you got knifed when you are on a streak
I think Infinity Ward thinks that this knife system is better, period.

    • xx420xx

enjoy getting fucked by people who arent terrible lol

    • Samuel Fogle

That sounds awesome to do. I normally don’t run around and knife people constantly. In previous CoDs, I would only knife if the situation required it. But, I might run a class with no primary, secondary, or equipment, and utilize the 12 perks option. Just to try it out! Having 12 perks seems like it would make you a BAMF.

    • Diego Diniz

On Black Ops 2, with a Combat Knife, you are a “crazy genetically engineered super solider”…thats ridiculous!!!

  • platinumwarrior121

Im a huge perk whore,so i wont be using any lethal or tactical grenades,i might even ditch my secondary like i always did in black ops 2 lol plus ima use specialist most of the time so no biggie for me

  • Manx Mouse

im gonna love Call of Duty Ghosts!

    • Samuel Fogle

So am I dude, I am positive on that. I thought Black Ops 2 was going to be sick, I was wrong. It was alright, but it did not live up to the expectations. Ghosts will hopefully be a nice deviation from the modern warfare series.

      • Manx Mouse

Black ops 2 was fun until everyone started throwing C4 everywhere. But this game looks absolutely amazing for a call of duty game!

  • Knives

Ok, something I didn’t know. That you can traditionally level up through the perks or buy them. Cool, I may classic level, or spend all my stuff on stealth.

  • Brandalf

See 3arch? This, this is how you implement a currency system!

    • Auptyk

Two years late on that one…

      • Brandalf

How so? COD points was only the first attempt by 3arch. What do you think unlock tokens in BO2 are? They’re a form of currency.

        • Samuel Fogle

Wasn’t there unlock tokens in MW3?

          • Brandalf

There were prestige tokens to unlock a weapon/perk/killstreak right away or get double XP, etc.

    • Bmeowmix

I liked BO2’s currency system… It just could have been a little harder to get tokens

      • Brandalf

The reason I didn’t like it was because it really felt like you were getting less for leveling up than you did in past COD games. before you could gain access to all weapons, killstreaks, equipment, etc. In BO2 is felt to me like you were getting less just so they could shoehorn in a currency system. I liked the idea in theory prior to release but in practice, not so much.

  • aasdasd

I sure hope that the default damage for lethals is back to how it used to be, not as low as it was in MW3. It’s so ridiculous when you get hitmarkers with your semtex etc. all day long. Combine that with Blast Shield and it’s fucking infuriating. I’d say raise Blast Shield from 2pts to 3pts. I mean, Danger Close is 4pts which is half of your budget… I can see how everyone will be using Blast Shield and explosives will be rendered useless. 🙁

    • DIVINE MANTRA

If they make explosives have a greater range than everyone would just run nube tubes and explosives with danger close. Lets learn from MW2 not have the same troubles all over again.

  • Tony Rambo

LOL “On the go” and “Gambler” look really fun
    Can’t wait for Tuesday!!!

    • ccrows

      I can’t believe that we are less than a week away… 🙂

      • Tony Rambo

        WOOOOO! 😀

  • On The Go, Takedown and Incog with a silenced SMG and a throwing knife…
ANYWAY, I said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s the 10th anniversary for CoD…

  • Siftblade of Rivia

Definitely going to rock an AR with silencer and grip. Perks, as slight of hand, quickdraw, and off the grid. That’s my base for building classes, my must-haves.

    • Misogynist

I was thinking I’d go AR with Muzzle Break & a Red Dot sight (depending on how good or bad the Iron Sights were) with Slight of Hand, Quickdraw… maybe Dexterity, and Stalker/Stopper for sure

      • Siftblade of Rivia

I don’t use red dot because all iron sights seem pretty clean to me. But everything else is good. quickdraw is probably my favorite, I have no idea why. I used it on every gun in BO2 (MP7 + Quickdraw is the best combo yet for the attachment, IMO).

        • Misogynist

Ever since BO2, I feel like Toughness is as much of a drug as Slight of Hand was lol, but that might be because I’ve been playing MW3 lately, and the flinch there is just absolutely rediculous

          • Siftblade of Rivia

Bingo! I forgot about toughness. No matter what gun, I had that on every class.

    • Emrah Avvurur

      Grip…. On an AR…

      • Siftblade of Rivia

All guns have recoil, and AR are for medium-long range gun fights, meaning grip would come in handy. What’s your point?

        • Misogynist

I think he means that they’re a waste of an equipment slot because:

          1. You can pretty much manage a gun’s recoil through a bit of practice
          2. They don’t really do anything (or so I’ve noticed)

          • Siftblade of Rivia

I can manage most recoil fine, but it always helps to have grip. I didn’t use grip at all in BO2 because it didn’t actually do anything, it was a placebo affect I’m hoping grip works in this COD. Btw, is that BBC as your profile pic?

          • Misogynist

Don’t think so lol, I screenshotted it from a vine so I don’t know his name but from comments I got, it’s not anyone named BBC

          • Siftblade of Rivia

            http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZm8VuvgNMc

Are you sure? (I used this video because it’s kinda a channel intro). He’s basically a gaming critic.

          • Misogynist

Oh, yeah it’s not him. I know the person in my profile is a youtuber but I don’t know his name lol

          • Siftblade of Rivia

Oh, alright. They look so alike though. Mustache and everything.

          • Emrah Avvurur

            #2 was my point.

    • Shooter McGavin

Pick the Honey Badger then you’ll get a free silencer, good mobility and that means you can grip and maybe a red dot aswell.

      • Siftblade of Rivia

Yeah. Best way to know what guns you like most is to actually play with all the guns. Trying to get diamond SMGs and ARs in BO2 gave me a feel of what guns I personally liked better. I didn’t use the PDW because everyone said it rocked. I used it because it felt better than the other SMGs, until they patched it.

    • ONE BAR

Did you know that the grip in BO2 only tightened the spread on your AR by around 2%? To compare, in past CODs it was closer to 7-20%.

      • Siftblade of Rivia

        Yeah, I didn’t use grip in BO2.

  • Misogynist

    W..we know.

  • xStarchild

    Yes toughness is back<333

    • Work hard Twerk harder

It’s what i hate more than anyone’s amount of hate on commando pro or martydom, and now they added less sway alongside it!? Hopefully ain’t as OP as BO2’s version and if it is then DG it ASAP D:<

      • Emrah Avvurur

Without that perk you’re nothing with a AR, sniper, SMG or LMG,

        • Work hard Twerk harder

Well… say that to my 3.35 ratio without focus or whatever proficency it was called and my roughly 2.65 (i don’t really remember BO2s as much for some reason) without toughness really ever being used.

I use ARs (MW3 lmgs more often now) most of the time with stock/stalker, that’s how I’m good and if more people used that to toughness, less camping complaints and less me complaining, that’s what i think anyways.

          • Emrah Avvurur

Some people think it’s good and some bad, same goes with stock/stalker
            I use toughness almost everytime,
And stock/stalker only with some AR’s.

          • Work hard Twerk harder

I don’t know though, I never feel like a hypocrite and say stock kills me, I see it’s effective on LMGs with quickdraw, but instead I see a target finder on top, along with toughness and a cosy camp spot. Not saying that’s all situations for toughness but it really bugs me how I can overcome clays, c4s, killstreaks anything but not this 1 perk

      • Misogynist

It is just as good as the BO2/BO1 version

  • DIVINE MANTRA

Amplify shouldnt even be in the game! Dead Silence is supposed to be the COUNTER to sound whores!! Why is there a counter to the counter of sound whores?? To make sound whores unstoppable??? Thats F’d up.

    • Misogynist

If we rage enough, maybe Mark Rubin will fix it!

      • DIVINE MANTRA

I wish it would be fixed before we even got the game. Its not like sound whores are at such a disadvantage when up against dead silence. They just cant rely on their ears as much. Same as in any other CoD with ghost or assassin. You just cant completely rely on your radar when uav or portable radar is up. I dont understand why they would make a perk essentially useless, and cater to sound whores. A good sound whore is unstoppable with no counter. Unless the whole team gets tired of dying and decides to charge in at once, but even then its not guaranteed youll finish him and he will just come back and sound whore more. That perk is gunna be the most over powered of all of all.. Its just a shame that IW cant see that

        • Misogynist

This is why I stayed away from Black Ops 2. The game was just terrible when it was released, especially on PS3. By the time it got fixed, I had already sold the game and got Dead Space 2 instead lol.

Common sense should tell IW not to make Assassin 2.0, but they did that anyway. It SHOULD be like BO2’s Ghost perk, but alas, it is not. Almost every immunity perk should have at least one type of counter, with Dead Silence being an exception in my book.

          • DIVINE MANTRA

I agree. Off the grid should only be effective whilst moving, and amplify shouldnt be in the game. If IW wants to save the franchise from its demise they should probably listen. Otherwise its Titanfall here we come.

          • Brandalf

No Ghost in BO2 was a terrible design choice that completely alienated a part of the COD community and eliminated an entire playstyle. Stealth perks are themselves a counter to the overabundance of killstreaks, radar, etc.

You are saying a counter should have a counter and shouldn’t have a counter in the same comment. Can’t have it both ways to serve your own wants and needs :/

          • PuddingAuxRais1ns

So Ghost is terrible because it keeps rushers off radar while making it useless for campers?

          • Brandalf

It’s only useful for a player that is constantly moving, if you are always moving and never stop for any reason, you’re not a rusher in my book, you’re an idiot. I flank a lot, I rush to enemy spawns and try to get behind them and take them out. This is a primarily rushing playstyle but it manages to be aggresive while still being defensive.

Sometimes I know an enemy is coming my way and I stop and wait for a few seconds, in BO2 this means I will show up on the radar. So you don’t have to be a camper to be screwed over by Ghost in BO2. Also if a perk doesn’t benefit all playstyles in some way, it is in my opinion poorly designed.

          • FluXuate is gay

well the way the made ghost in bo2 is a lot better than another. if you just make it that you’ll never appear on the radar then theres no point to rush and will cause a lot of campers and ruin the perk. you sir are a fuckwit.

          • Brandalf

Your name kind of undermines your argument there sport. If you want me to take you seriously you’re gonna have to display some form of maturity. Also in BO2 3arch attempted to “fix” a problem that didn’t exist. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the stealth perks in COD4,[email protected],MW2,BO1 or MW3.

The only people that thought it should have been changed were the mindless rushers that chase red dots and more often then not are a liability to their teams.

          • DIVINE MANTRA

Actually youre wrong there Junior. Assassin in Mw3 was OP as shit. To where EVERYONE used it. Ghost in BO1 was way OP and after a certain point everyone started camping with it with a silenced Galil. Know youre fuckin facts before you blabber about false accusations. We get it you like stealth and dont want no one to see you until its too late. Well sorry but thats too over powered for a call of duty style game. Maybe in Battlefield but not call of duty where a fraction of a fraction of a second means life or death. If you were a true tactical rusher youd have no problem with an Off the Grid that only makes you invisible to radar when moving. Its not like you arent moving for very long anyways. Or are you? Hmmmm.

          • Brandalf

They were not OP, they worked EXACTLY like Cold-blooded did in MW2, nobody complained about Cold-blooded in MW2. Nobody complained about UAV jammer in COD4 or camouflage in [email protected] The kids and bads complained enough in BO1 to convince 3arch to nerf Ghost and many, many more things through patches for BO2.

3arch doesn’t stand by their design decisions, they’re a bad developer. A good developer doesn’t just nerf anything and everything people whine about. A good developer tests and decides for themselves if something needs to be toned down or not. 3arch just goes with the wind.

          • DIVINE MANTRA

The reason no one complained is because too many people were worried about Juggernaut and Stopping power. Im not gunna argue over the internet with an ignorant kid. Just stop your whining about something that would only make you visible for a second if your a tactical rusher. If youre a camper you deserve to be seen on radar. Im not gunna fuckin argue with senseless ignorant people like yourself. I look for balance in a game. Not stupid obvious advantages that everyone will exploit.

          • Brandalf

No you don’t look for balance, you want the game to be designed and catered towards your playstyle. That’s not balance it’s ignorance and selfishness. The only people that don’t like campers are the idiots that get killed by them over and over. The idiot rushers don’t like campers because they are a direct counter to their mindless playstyle. A good player can easily deal with a camper and has no reason to complain about them. Bads complain about other playstyles that aren’t their own and whine and cry for design choices that directly benefit themselves and cripple other playstyles. That’s not balance, period.

I’m sure you were one of the guys that complained about juggernaut while using stopping power too, weren’t you?

          • DIVINE MANTRA

Wrong again! Lol you really are ignorant. You sit here accusing me of something you are doing yourself. Hypocrite. If Ghosts wants to fall short yet again due to campers and ill minded players so be it. Im a tactical player and can handle my own. Its just the campers and unbalanced system thats flawed and only the ignorant and ill minded cannot see it. The reason i want ghost to be that way is so the poor camping idiots will see the light of day and have a chance to become more than a free kill. I feel bad for you. Continuing your poor existence acting like youre something. When you dont see how sad it is that you continue to argue about a video game over the internet. Goodbye Flu X uate. I really hope you have a great day. Im going to get back to my life. You go back to BO1 lol

          • Brandalf

Haha your ignorance astounds me. You are preaching balance but then say campers are a flaw. It’s a playstyle. You just don’t like it. Well, too bad for you IW doesn’t design the game around your wants and needs but for everyone’s playstyles.

You do realize you have said you were going to stop posting what, 3 times now? I think you’re the pathetic one here, you can’t help but respond to my posts. Even though you say over and over how you have more important things to do, well go do them. Nobody is stopping you.

No that’s okay, I’ll enjoy myself in Ghosts while you either stay in BO2 or whine and complain about how you can’t see the red dots on your radar or how that one camper keeps kicking your ass in Ghosts.

          • Emrah Avvurur

            So today I play BO1,
            On WMD,
We were kicking their ass, and what do you know,
A little tenth prestige camping *****, gets a dogs
He really deserved that dogs didn’t he?

          • Brandalf

Apparently your team wasn’t kicking ass. They let someone get an 11 killstreak against them. The reward for an 11 killstreak is the attack dogs, so ya he did earn them…

          • DIVINE MANTRA

Thats why they put wiretap in the game dude. So all the campers would just know where everyone is so you can get off your ass and go do something useful for your team, if you play free for all, then you shouldnt be camping anyway. Camping is the death of CoD. Its like you scared pussys are afraid to respawn. Or you just realize you actually have no skill at this game so you wanna camp to improve your kd to MAKE yourself look like a good player yet you have a low spm. So either way youre trash. Ghost in BO2 was perfect. It promotes team play and punishes those who wanna sit there. Even when just for a second rushers are able to be seen on the radar. Thats the way it should be. You cannot have a stealth perk make you completely invisible. That would promote camping and no one would help their teams effectively.

          • Brandalf

Orly? Huh I guess me topping the charts of kill confirmed every time I play BO2 doesn’t count as being useful for my team. Top kills, score and confirms certainly isn’t helpful to my team huh? My most played game mode is KC and my SPM is 450+. Ghost in BO2 promoted nothing but mindless rushing, period. Hey you’re reply gave me a good laugh though bud.

          • DIVINE MANTRA

HAHAHA kill confirmed?! Youre a joke kid. Kill confirmed in BO2 is played by kids who cant get streaks in tdm. And no, if people dont know how to rush correctly and when to engage in a fire fight and when and when not to challenge thats their problem. But being completely invisible to radar is not the answer. Id rather promote rushing and TRYING to think tactically rather than promote camping and being a little whiney bitch like yourself. On the contrary i am laughing at the worthless and mindless piece of scum in this community such as yourself. You think youre tough shit cause you play KC in BO2. Well my friend that shit is easy mode. Try again. If you were a real good player as you like to think you are, you SHOULD be able to get those scores in a party in KC. Hell a solo player in KC could get scores like that and top the leaderboard every game. But the only reason you get that in BO2 is BC of ghost being the way it is. If you had ghost from BO1 in BO2 youd be complete garbage i guarantee. Oh wait maybe not. You may just decide to join the party and ghost it out. A real player doesnt give a shit if hes seen on the radar. I say come and get me, ill out play you the old fashion way. With skill. But dont worry. Off the grid will probably stay the same so you dont have to worry. Im laughin at you actually thinkin youre somethin lol get real dude. Youre a joke.

          • Brandalf

First of all, I play on PC. The caliber of competition is much higher than on console, that’s just how it is(Very few kids on PC). Second, I rarely play in parties. Which is why I play KC more often than say Dom or HQ. In TDM,SnD or KC I can compensate for the bad players on my team, that’s just not the case in Dom/HQ. I can’t compensate for idiots that refuse to play the objective in a mode that is won simply by capturing and holding objectives.

FYI, I don’t use Ghost in BO2 because it’s worthless. My typical loadout doesn’t actually contain one stealth perk in BO2 because they are all relatively useless in that joke of a game. A “real” player huh? So because I choose to build my class to directly benefit my playstyle that makes me a “fake” player? I have nothing to prove to you, I was simply pointing out how your assumptions made you look like an idiot. I could care less what your opinion about my chosen perk/game modes are.

If you understood proper game balance you would know if there is not enough incentive for a player to use something, it’s poorly designed. Which is exactly where Ghost and Cold-blooded fall in BO2.

BO2 was clearly designed for the mindless rushers. Small/cluttered maps, SMGs dominate all, hipfire is absurdly effective, Ghost is only of use if you never stop moving, terrible “revenge” spawning. The list goes on and on.

          • DIVINE MANTRA

Mhmm sure. So i guess since you feel everyone should be able to have perks and loadouts to their own playstyle that its fair to have a loadout such as LMG target finder with Jug Ghost from BO1 second chance etc i can go on and on. Seriously dude contradicting yourself just makes YOU look stupid. No matter what you say youre wrong. Balance isnt about catering to everyones playstyle its about not making any ONE thing about the game have too much power or priority over any other. And btw, if you have nothing to prove why are you sitting here pointing out everything about your playstyle and what you play and what your scores are? Your a joke kid. You seriously have no clue how hilarious you sound. My points are valid. Yours are asinine. As ive said before im not going to argue with mindless, senseless, ignorant kids who complain because the game isnt easy enough for them. Learn to play with people knowing where you are even if its for a fraction of a second. Who knows you might just get better. Unless the reason youre complaining is bc you need BO1 ghost so you dont have to worry about ever being seen because you know you arent as skilled as the players who are coming after you. Ive said my peace. Ive got more important things to do than argue with kids about an unbalanced game.

          • Brandalf

As long as there is a counter to target finder, jug and ghost. Absolutely. Second chance just doesn’t work properly as a perk because it’s imbalanced. It gives people a chance to extend their killstreak even if they would have died otherwise. Now as a killstreak reward second chance would be just fine.

Target finder had a counter, Juggy had a counter, Ghosts had a counter. So you’re points are completely worthless. What you don’t seem to understand is designing a game to cater to one playstyle is NOT balanced because it puts other playstyles at a disadvantage. Use sound logic sometime, it does wonders!

Also last I checked you were the one whining and crying about a perk because you apparently don’t own a decent pair of headphones, headset or surround sound system.

I never complained, I said Ghost in BO2 was a terribly designed perk in a terribly designed game. That’s not complaining that’s stating my opinion on the game and the way it was designed. Pot meet kettle.

          • DIVINE MANTRA

Ok seriously dude stop. You make points that i understand but dont make the game balanced. Balance ISNT about catering to YOUR playstyle bc that in of itself would render others playstyles useless. I ask for a level playing field where skill is the determining factor. And no i wasnt complaining bc of headsets. If you actually read correctly i said i play with a headset. Headsets are meant for enhanced sound quality. Not for an unfair advantage. Im done arguing so quit bothering me. Youre wrong kid. Thats the end of it. What you are saying isnt balance. Unless you think sitting still not playing the game at all is balance. If people would move and play the game i guarantee they would get better. But whatever i dont wanna talk to you anymore. I dont know why you insist on arguing with me when youre wrong. Bye bye now

          • Brandalf

I never asked for the game to be designed around my playstyle. I can do just fine with our without Ghosts/Cold-blooded/UAV Jammer/Camouflage. However it is central to some people’s playstyles. Hell snipers couldn’t even properly utilize it in BO2 unless they were quickscopers. So it was pointless to try and be an actual sniper. Of course the maps made it pretty much impossible as well with the severely lacking sight lines.

The game is designed with headsets/surround sound in mind. The better quality peripherals you have/use the more you can take advantage of things designed into the game. If you don’t take advantage of all the tools at your disposal given to you by the developers, that’s your problem, not a game problem.

Again, camping IS a legitimate playstyle. You may not like it but it is fair game. So 4 times now, either leave or stay but for God’s sakes stop saying you’re going to leave only to respond within 10 mins.

    • Unreal

sound whores ? i bet you are just jealous because you could not spend a few bucks on a good pair of headphones…. why makes it us whores because we use all the capabilitys that the games offer to us? if we would do it like you want we could as well just take away all sound of the game?

      • DIVINE MANTRA

No money isnt a thing. Buy all the Astros and Beaches you want. Have the high quality sound. But if you have a perk that allows you to hear EVERYONE than you can just sit there hearing everyone, knowing when they are coming and it takes the skill out of the game. Its like if there was constant radar all youd really have to do is stare at the damn radar to play the game. Youre prolly just a lazy burn out thats fried your brain with hardly not reaction time and cant get kills without the use of your handy dandy headphones and a perk that renders whats supposed to be a counter to sound whores. I play with a head set and i have no problem with not being able to hear someones footsteps if they use a perk that does so. Cause im not a lame player that relys on a main sense. I use my eyes ears and mind like youres supposed to. Plus, just cause you cant hear footsteps doesnt mean you still cant hear a fuckin suppressed weapon from across the map. Stop bein a cry baby. Youre already spoon fed all the advantage any player could ask for, give other players a damn chance to get near you and have a chance to take you out. You cant have complete awareness and know when everyone is coming even when they arent shooting AND wearing Dead Silence. Thats called Over Powered and Game Breaking you dumbass.

        • No skill for hearing where the enemies come from? You must be joking right?

  • Misogynist

I always imagined there would be a perk that took off the enemies hitmarker, so they’d never know they’re hitting you if you were hiding lol

  • Work hard Twerk harder

Now i just want to know about specilist, totally underated yet very effective on MW3. Please don’t change that…

    • Misogynist

From what I’ve heard from a leaker, specialist is not AS effective as MW3’s. You don’t get all 35 perks (obviously), but I believe your specialist bonus gives you 11 points for perks to choose from

    • Emrah Avvurur

      Specialist is not underrated.

    • Mitch

Specialist underrated? It seems like everyone was running it and IMO it was quite OP.

      • platinumwarrior121

over powered? sounds like you suck lol specialist is def by far for skilled players

        • Work hard Twerk harder

You have to bare in mind though, for a skilled player they can have every perk pro’d, so on top of every perk they get another load of perks and to top that off even more, proficencies are added aswell. That does sound OP but i hear no complaints about this and therefore really enjoy using something what seems underated

      • Work hard Twerk harder

Well by underated I meant you always saw things like “stealth bomber OP”, “enemy uav is airborne as always”, “support has lethal pointstreaks!?” etcera etcera.
I have honestly never heard anyone complain about specilist but I like to see it as people don’t give it a good enough go to complain about it, nor is it obvious if someone has it so no one really assumes they have it.

  • Emrah Avvurur

    Yes!
    Gambler is a random perk.

  • Can’t believe they made Stalker costs 3 points.

      Looks so stupid….

  • Devon Mclean

Oh man a lot of people are going to Mix Ping with takedown…

  • Devon Mclean

    Treyarch Take notes.

  • NikNok

need to do something with the sat com bullish waaay too may go up in private match its lame

  • you will def want to unlock (off the grid) first thing due to SAT spam and couple it with (wire tap) then you wont need to even use SAT as score streak, lets others work for you haha my day one class would prob look like this SMG silenced, well after i unlock the silencer 2pts, (ready up) 1pt, (agility) 2pts, (marathon) 2pts, (quickdraw) 3pts, & (steady aim) 2pts, a good rushing class i dont mind if you see me youll be dead by then!

  • ONE BAR

Gambler kind of reminds me the CS:S plugin, Roll The Dice or “RTD”. More popular in minigame servers and death run. Also like BO1 (and all since then) stole Gun Game from CS:S. Couldn’t even change the name of it.

  • iwannafmydad

i’m not going to read all this sh*t. i’ll wait for ali-a to make a video about it.

  • Misogynist

Okay, so after watching a stream (it’s still going on as I type this)

I have learned that Specialist is WAYYY different than MW3’s, it’s a lot less op. The KEM strike does not destroy every map, or end the game. There are a lot less player controlled kill streaks. The new predator missile is fucking awesome. And the K7 will be “That one SMG that every tryhard uses”

  • PS4THEWIN

http://hashd.tv/nvtive This guy is streaming GHOSTS MP ON PS3 RIGHT NOW!

  • Bmeowmix

Anyone else think that ping, painkiller, and wiretap are going to be OP?

    • Brandalf

Ping? Possibly. Painkiller? Nope. Wiretap? Only if there is a ton of SATCOM spam, which you can expect for the first couple weeks of release. After that, time will tell.

      • Bmeowmix

I’d bet that painkiller regens way too fast and that you could just hide in a corner for one second and heal by then. With wiretap I feel that even if there is no “spamming” even one friendly SATCOM would be like an enemy SATCOM that I can’t break. I can’t prevent my teammates from getti g a three killstreak that helps the enemies

        • Brandalf

Judging by how other COD perks work the regen speed would be twice as fast. So 2.5 sec to regen back to full health. This of course is just speculation from past COD perk design.

Ya that is a good point. It’s an interesting balancing factor though. If wiretap becomes a commonly used perk you bet fewer people will run SATCOMs, if they’re smart. Or at least run OTG.

Only time will tell how the meta will play out and I’m kind of excited to see how the community goes about preventing the usefulness of wiretap.

          • Bmeowmix

You’re probably right with the wiretap thing, but the thing is that not every player is smart, so there will probably be a couple of people using SATCOMs per lobby, which as you said would basically force people to use OTG… Sound familiar?

          • Brandalf

True enough, there are always going be players that are not so smart. I think it’s one of those things that we will have to wait on and see how it plays out once the community gets their hands on it.

  • Samuel Fogle

Ping. It will be over-used. But, the new perk system does seem pretty cool. I guess we will have to wait and see, ladies and gents.

  • Samuel Fogle

And also, I will be looking for a clan. I usually have a k/d of at least 1.2 or 1.3, so if any of you need a new clan mate, I will be willing to join!

  • Nicholas Adell

I dont know if you ask me I think the chicken nuggets are actually gonna taste really good!

  • Don_Kornholio

Hey guys, i found a link to some new ghosts footage http://hashd.tv/vod/ghosts-2…the video is of a low quality and is muted (i apologize in advance if I’ve violated any posting rules)

  • John

I have always loved free for all (have 602 winningstreak in MW2) and shotguns. It seems like ghosts will suit me.. In free for all you dont have to think about spending 3 points Of the grid or takedown for 1 point… strip away secondary, tactical and lethal and become a godly shotgun troll.

    FREE FOR ALL CLASS
    1. Primary (one of the better shotguns)
    2. PERKS: Marathon 2 points, Dead silence 2 points, Agility 2 points, Steady aim 2 points, Sitrep 2 points (for explosives and motion sensors), dexterity 1 point = 11 POINTS

Specialist: sleight of hand 2 points, Blind eye 2 points, Hardline 2 points

This class in the hands of a good player will be pure destruction

  • Ed

those perk values that i can see are trash.

  • Nathaniël Essex

Who else thinks Ali-A kinda looks like Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory? (No offense Alistair) 😉

  • Gandalf’sSaggyBallsacks

BF/EA fanboys should go to bravointel.com while COD fanboys should stay here, so both types of fanboys will not have to create pointless
arguments. PS3, XBOX and PC should not even argue as we are all gamers. I mean why waste our own precious time just to flame on each other while we could be enjoying life?

    • Brandalf

Or people should just not be such fanboys, but that’ll never happen unfortunately.

  • bsktballmsu1

ping and takedown is going to be a deadly combo

  • jooker-jr

I think Incog will be a 5 points perk or it will be OP

  • jooker-jr

Cod ghosts = the best of all cods in one cod. Awesome

  • Guest

We are actually getting screwed on this perk setup. All IW did was strip off the pro perks from MW3 and made them a stand alone perk. If you think about it in MW3 you essentially got 6 different perks if you include the pro abilities. Now in Ghosts you are going to struggle to get 5 or 6 different ones unless you want to get rid of tac/lethal grenades or primary/secondary weapons to free up more points. IW should of followed Treyarch and used their create-a-class system.

  • Andrey Martim

I have a dream where all camping perks (Cold Blood, Assassin) where completely removed of the game…

  • Baldmanz_RAGE

Which is better motion sensor or wiretap perk.

  • Dan Parker

What are these red star like hit markers I see every now and then in the killcam when ive been mullerd. Note that only really awsome players or people who seem like they have some increadible auto aim get them so is it some kind of hack as 98% of my killcams dont have it, just the odd one

  • C.j. Smith

I unlocked hardline early in ghost now it is locked again I did not prestige or anything I think I got glitched any one else have this problem???
