Alongside the announcement this morning that Call of Duty: Ghosts sold $1 billion into retail, Activision and GameStop also confirmed that as of right now, Call of Duty: Ghosts is the most preordered game for the next-generation consoles.

Ghosts is an amazing game which ushers in the next generation of Call of Duty. The team at Infinity Ward has delivered yet another epic thrill ride in the campaign, and what I think is our best multiplayer game yet,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing. “This is the must have launch title for the next generation of consoles, and we expect Call of Duty: Ghosts to be the most successful launch title for the Xbox One and PS4 by a wide margin. In fact, according to GameStop, Call of Duty: Ghosts is their most pre-reserved next gen title.”

Sony’s PS4 launches in North America on Nov. 15th, and Nov. 29th in Europe. Xbox One launches on Nov. 22nd in 13 countries.

Just received my PS4 copy of Ghosts in the mail today. I can hardly wait…

      8 days 🙂

Irrelevant question but did anyone use the Trinity Rocket killstreak? I feel it has no aoe effect or damage at all, or at least really low damage. I can’t remember how many times I launched the missiles perfectly on the enemies base in domination and it would always leave a hit marker. There would be like 4 ppl securing the location and I only end up getting one.

      • Nighthawk

I found several of the score streaks to be ineffective including the Trinity. Riley, while a cool feature, was played out after about an hour of play when everyone had one running around. The Vulture, which is the “upgraded” version of the Dragonfly, seems to lob bags of marshmallows at the intended targets. I had hoped it would lase missiles like the Loadstar, but instead it seemed to have some sort of trajectory like a fly-caster’s bait.

All in all I was disappointed on many levels with Ghosts. I will wait and watch the YouTube game plays once the Mighty PS4 and the Xbone hit the streets.

Save your money! Ghosts was abysmal on the 360. Adding a NextGen console with the mythical “dedicated server” won’t turn that shit pile into gold.

360? Are you sure you’re not about taking about the PC version? Judging about the reports, the game is unfavorable.

      • Nighthawk

Alas no brother. The 360 version, for me, was worse than the nightmare of Blops II. Why is this the first IW game that will not tell you your ping??? Because the “level-based” matchmaking doesn’t care where you live.

I pay for BURST internet speed from ComPost and with a host migration I was almost always chosen in Blops II. With Ghosts even that didn’t help.

All the bullshit, but much easier, deaths of Blops II, with the added kick in the balls of shitty killstreaks (The Vulture is WORTHLESS on several maps) and a perk system more expensive than useful.

        Activision. Fuck you!

The hype was mostly for the next gen consoles. No one but you expected much fromthe connection quality on the 360. Either shut up and play the game or return it and wait for the next gen consoles if you wanta better online experience. In my opinion it’s great for an outdated soon to be discontinued hardware. Yes there is lag but no matter how good your Internet is, no one said the online experience is gonna be any better than previous CODs on current gen. Just shut up and deal with it until the next gen consoles are out with dedicated servers or return it. The choice is yours.

          • Unreal

ded servers are too for ps3 and 360 my dear boy

          • Super_Deluxe

            Doesn’t seem like it…

          • ORB1T4L

What the fuck are you talking about ? There’s no dedicated servers on the current gen versions. I played for about 8 hours and experienced 3 host migrations, do you think dedicated servers need host migrations ?

          • Kurama The Nine-Tailed Fox

I think I’m hooked up to a dedicated server, never lagged or had a host migration.

          • ORB1T4L

No dude, I think YOU are the host every time and you just don’t notice it 🙂

          • Kurama The Nine-Tailed Fox

Really, your probably right I do use the reliable Ethernet cable straight into my console and have a ping of 5.

          • ORB1T4L

Nothing beats the ethernet cable 😉

          • Kurama The Nine-Tailed Fox

Nope, Nothing. I highly recommend it to anyone lagging. A lot of people know the Ethernet cable is best but still opt to go wireless heck that’s how I use to think but like you said, nothing beats the Ethernet cable.

Look everyone – Activision’s perfect customer.

If you didn’t expect a version that is one year newer of a product you support with your money to be BETTER, than you must be some kind of fanboy.

Activision and this very site touted the fact that Ghosts would have Dedicated servers for both the PS3 and the 360. Without dedicated servers there was ZERO reason to buy this crap.

As I said, I did return it. The product is shit. The maps suck. The spawns are the worst yet. The score streaks are boring and ineffective as everyone is running the same ones. The “new” features add nothing to the gameplay experience and since they are matchmaking based on level, you are stuck with P2P connection. The mere fact that I have to play with people from Spain and Japan who are the same level as I was speaks to how little care the company gives to the experience.

Without dedicated servers and the ability to play with people who share my ping, there was nothing about Ghosts that needed to be explored.
