Mini Map with location

Broadcaster Mode is Infinity Ward’s partial answer to Treyarch’s CODCast mode. The new Broadcaster Mode provides the necessary features for eSports, and for casters to cast and fans to watch. The new mode has been released for PS4, and we’ve been using it in private matches. Here’s a look at what you can do with this new mode.

  • To activate Broadcaster Mode, you go to a private match; then hit the button to enable CODeSports rules. Then click on a certain GT in the lobby, and then ‘Enable Broadcaster Mode.’ Next to your GT, there will be a small camera icon to note that you are the broadcaster person in the lobby.
  • You have the option to bring up the map to fill up the screen completely, and see the enemies’ positions and directions. You can bring it up on partially if you don’t want it to cover the screen.
  • For every map, the D-Pad has four set camera locations across the corners of the map. So you can quickly go to a certain area of the map with one touch of a button.
  • There’s an option to use third or first person mode, and you can easily switch between players.
  • You can also bring up the leaderboards during a match – the leaderboards are in the top right, and you can highlight a certain player’s name.
  • There will be a little camera icon next to a person’s user name while you are spectating them.
  • At the top of the screen, there’s the scoreboard with the name of the game type, map name, score count, and timer.

Might not be as good as treyarch’s version but it will do. I like how you can quickly go to a area with the dpad.

  • KoolAidMan

like how they added the camera angles its gonna make it so funny when players are very close to each other but cant find one another and really like that the map, scoreboard and names dont take up half the screen anymore like the PIP mode in black ops 2 now its displayed in convenient place on the top right GG IW! you did something thats not infuriating so now can you please fix the IED and the OP dog and…….the spawns and the…..MSbullS#$%t aaaand the menu lag on the PC version. Thank You

  • Josh

It seems like Tryarch come up with all these geat ideas and IW just copies them – can’t they come up with their own ideas? Have you seen Tryarch take and thing form the IW games, no, why is that because they don’t introduce anything new and innovative.

    • Misogynist

      ctf? CREATE-A-CLASS?

    • DanDustEmOff

Are you special nearly all of the features that make CoD what it is today come from IW. Killstreaks, create a class, selectable perks, killcams, rewarding the objective and many many more were all introduced by IW (who created CoD in the first place). Yes Treyarch may have gone all out on eSports (which caters to less than 5% of the community), but Treyarch have never really done anything to truly innovate the series at all. To answer your question yes Treyarch have took tons of IW features and put them into their game if they didn’t they wouldn’t be making Call of Duty dumbass.

      • Siftblade of Rivia

        Zombies.

        • DanDustEmOff

Ok I do love me some WaW, BO Zombies but BO 2 zombies was terrible.

          • Siftblade of Rivia

But it’s a new feature that Treyarch introduced, aka innovation. It doesn’t matter if you like it or not.

          • DanDustEmOff

I know, I conceded that point to you. I was simply stating that BO2 Zombies was bad. My original comment was more to do with Multiplayer, aposed from the entire game but you are correct. Zombies was a true innovation that Treyarch put into the franchise.

          • Siftblade of Rivia

In terms of Multiplayer, do you want me to list what Treyarch brought? Off the top of my head, Wager matches (BO1), A bunch of new game modes, the dolphin dive, an improved CAC system, score streaks, some great maps, balanced guns, good spawns… well, better than this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8slavmOqLDw

          • DanDustEmOff

Wager match is just a ffa variation, adding game modes is not innovation and if it was IW have created lots more game modes than Treyarch ever have, dolphin dive is just a mechanic thats like saying IW adding the knife in CoD 4 was innovation and neither is improving (subjective) create a class, that’s refinement not innovation.

The last time the game was innovated was in CoD 4 all Treyarch have ever done is refine the work that IW have done before them. How have Treyarch ever balanced guns? Do you remember the famas, mp40, STG44 and R870? Its also easy to balance a map when the damn thing is symmetrical.

          • Siftblade of Rivia

If that’s your logic, there hasn’t been innovation in gaming since the 1990’s. Here, read it and weep. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/995751-/62314616

          • DanDustEmOff

How do you get that from my anwser I acknowledge true innovation, however making something shinier or thowing some gimmic in that is going to annoy the crap out of a portion of your community is not innovative.

When you link me something in future please try to make it a good one, rather than some guy from the internet with a very low expectation of what innovation is.

          • Siftblade of Rivia

You’re saying new gamemodes aren’t actually new. Therefore, in your logic, new games aren’t actually new. GTA 5 is not new, it’s just a refined version of frogger. Right?

          • DanDustEmOff

Thats not what I have said at all. That statement is like me saying in your logic anything added to a game at all is innovation, like slapping a bow on Pac Man and calling the game Mrs Pac Man is innovation. Right?

          • Siftblade of Rivia

Touche. But if you think Treyarch haven’t brought anything new to the table then you’re either blind or in denial.

          • DanDustEmOff

Not at all I just don’t think that they have done as much as IW have. Many people believe Treyarch are the better dev team and if they concerntrated on getting the core mechanics to work properly (netcode, matchmaking and hit detection) they definitely would be close to IW. However since they introduced theater their games have been laggy and at times unplayable.IW made a bold step removing it to improve connectivity and so far it seems to have paid off.

          • Siftblade of Rivia

So you’re saying that Ghosts has better connectivity than BO2? Dear god…

          • DanDustEmOff

Yes for sure, I would like the ping to be displayed but still the connection is a lot better in my experience.

          • Siftblade of Rivia

You must have a different game than everyone else I’ve ever met.

          • DanDustEmOff

PC and even on Xbox 360 it runs great on my set up. I do have my network extremely well set up though. If you are having issues I would start with your network, look in to port forwarding and setting up a DMZ. Always use a wired connection and only use port 1 on your router, consider upgrading your router and set your system to have priority over all traffic and try to limit the amount of users on your network when you are gaming. Also if you play on a large LCD/LED TV, consider getting a monitor to game on. Modern TV’s have massive amounts of input lag that can give the appearance of network Lag if that is not something that you want to do look for a game mode option on your TV settings this will switch off some of the TV’s enhancement features to display the image quicker. Look for IPS monitors over TN. Hope this helps, if not get in touch with your ISP.

          • Siftblade of Rivia

My connection is good and runs every game great. I’m not talking about connection interrupted lag, I’m talking about you put three bullets into a guy, don’t get hitmarkers even though you clearly shot him, and he turns around and kills you. I’m talking about someone shooting before you see them, but on the kill cam they saw you a while ago. Stuff like that. I’m talking about dying so fast before you can even react. My average kills per game on Ghosts is 20, whereas in BO2 my average was 40.

          • DanDustEmOff

What your talking about is lag. I have the exact same issues with Treyarch games. IDK their netcode must suit your internet connection better and IW’s must suit mine better.

          • Siftblade of Rivia

            Guess so, whatever.

      • Ahemp

Hardpoint is by far the biggest leap in the COD series in the last 3 titles. If you can’t comprehend that, then this argument is over.

        • Blaine

Guess what – Hardpoint is a slightly modified version of Drop Zone, which is a mode invented by IW in MW3.

          • DanDustEmOff

I would say more of a headquarters variant.

        • DanDustEmOff

Are you being sarcastic? Cause if you’re not then the argument sure is over.

      • Josh

That was way back in COD4, but what have they added since that has made a big change not just new kill streaks and guns.

        • DanDustEmOff

A ton of new game modes, the concept of rewarding objective play, profficencies, spec ops, Squads, Extinction, rewards for prestiging and a ton of other stuff.

Black Ops 2 had the potential to be the best CoD game, however it was plagued with connection issues bad maps and other stupid ideas.

Take Scavenger, MW2 created the perk it was op. Noob tubes and claymores where everywhere. Treyarch did the right thing in BO 1 by stopping you re supplying them. MW3 followed suit, only for Treyarch to break it and put shock charges and betties in. WTF was that all about?

The absolute worst thing that Treyarch did was ignore the community all year long. All year people tweeted Vonderhar about the lag and he wouldn’t even acknowledge the issue there wasn’t a single significant netcode patch all year and to this day remains the worst coded CoD to date.

  • ruben

how about hitmarkers are they able to be seen while spectating a player i think that enhances the viewability for whoever is watching

  • That’s what we’ve been waiting for. Broadcaster mode. And rules. Yes.

  • Ryumoau

This isn’t something i’ll use, but i’m glad they added it. Alot of other people use this for competitive modes. Weird that they didn’t have it part of the game day one like Black Ops 2.

Its almost like Treyarch and Infinity Ward don’t bother taking notes from the other studio’s game to improve on it, which might explain why Ghosts feels like a step back from black ops 2 at times. 🙁

    • DanDustEmOff

Gimme Ghosts over Lag Ops 2 any day.

      • Vordb

Black Ops II started playing much better towards the end of its main life cycle due to the addition of dedicated servers. It really doesn’t deserve that name.

        • DanDustEmOff

You may have had a few dedis in the states for the last two months, but that doesn’t really help the rest of the world or make up for the fact that the game had the worst netcode of any CoD game to date.

What’s even worse is the fact that Treyarch did nothing about it for ten months, not a tweet from Vahn, no statment, no patches… nothing.

I haven’t even gotten started on the match making that always seemed to think that it is Ok to put me into a lobby with 1 guy from Japan, Australia, Brazil and US (I live in the UK)in it and then to give that guy the host.

I used speed test to Ping Japan just out of interest and it was 1000ms, thats a whole second and the connection was terrible. I wouldn’t mind if my net was bad but I’m on a 100mb fiber connection. Lag Ops 2 deserves its name make no mistake about that.

      • CoDforever

        do you regret this statement

        • DanDustEmOff

No not at all, BO2 was a lag fest. I enjoyed playing Ghosts the connections were great and once the DLC gave us better maps I only had one complaint and that was that the majority of the players were campers.
I have a list as long as my arm for issues with BO2. Why are you going through articles that are over 2 years old? and do you regret choosing CoDforeva as a name seems the game is practically a dead franchise that milks their customers dry while still using P2P in 2016 with garbage matchmaking, and connectivity?

  • CoDforever

Still looks like a cod caster knock off IMO
