Haven’t you already posted this before, or am I just imagining things?

We posted the report for the month of November before =)

        Ah, I see.

But guys, didn’t you hear? Call of Duty is dead/dying, despite its record breaking success, Call of duty is a failure.

COD is never going to die. Whenever one generation gets tired of it, the new one will join. The people from the older games are leaving COD and these 12 year olds are starting off with their first of probably many COD. Then when they get tired, it will repeat. COD is an endless cycle. I honesty don’t see it dying within the next 10 years.

        Agreed

        Doge…

    • Chris Mason

Next year half of us will laud everything Ghosts did right while the other half will proclaim that the new CoD is utter rubbish compared to it. We will also be wearing our rose-colored glasses mourning CoDs fall from excellence, which we have done for many years now. Also, anything genuinely good will be hated because its cool to hate. We have no idea what we are doing.

I will say that Cod 4 (or Waw) was the last good Cod, then call the rest shit, then proceed to give dumb ideas in order to “INNOVATE”, then mention the game engine, even though I have no understanding of software engineering, and bonus points if you mention the Frostbite engine.

Go back and play BO1. Unlike MW3, BO2, and Ghosts, for some reason I don’t experience the BS. it feels like if I shoot the guy first, I get the kill. Which is how it should be. I have yet to rage on a BO1 match (excluding gun game, lol) whereas I have raged many upon many of times within all games that followed it. Not sure what BO1 did, but it did something right.

          • jordanxbrookes

Black Ops did a lot of things right. The awesome Cold War theme, interesting weapons, some nice attachments, great camos, the recoil of weapons is how it should be and not laser guns, maps that people love, wager matches, theater mode was first introduced in CoD and of course Zombies. There is more to say but I don’t want to bore you if you read this. In short, Black Ops personally was a great game despite connection issues.

    • K.E.M

It’s dead to our generation, but it’s new to the other generation. It’s a repeating cycle! The squeakers of our gen, will be us muting the new squeakers, never ending cycle.

  • Bill

Poor kids getting this for xmas hoping it would be a good game. =(

You are forgetting that dance dance got 3rd…

      • Alex | FamousIsLIVE

Just Dance got 3rd. Never compare the god of dancing games to that piece of shit Just Dance ever again.

        • xSupaScopa

sorry i meant just dance. My point is that it is a shitty game. i mean it got higher than GTA? Wtf?

          • Alex | FamousIsLIVE

Yeah no it definitely didn’t deserve that haha.

        • Haha, good to see another DDR fan here! Very different from Just Dance — and at one point an incredibly well made, innovative title!

Don’t get me wrong, COD is my favourite video gaming franchise, but BF puts up a fair fight.

      • Alex | FamousIsLIVE

BF could have put up a fair fight if EA didn’t rush to put it out before COD.

    • NuttyTheSquirrel

      Neither does Ghosts.

      • GinsuVictim

Considering Ghosts was number one, you are correct, it does not deserve the number two spot.

    • Sentrymann

I own both Call of Duty Ghosts and BF4. They’re actually both really solid games, in my opinion.

    • platinumwarrior121

actually battlefield 4 is better then ghost,..ghost is by far the worst cod ever, hopefully treyarch or sledgehammer studios end the cod slump

      • fires

BF4 crashed for me like 4 times while you were typing that, i beg to differ.

        • platinumwarrior121

didn’t say its as stable as ghost, but when bf4 is playable with no problems its indeed much much better

      • K.E.M

Yep! because people love waiting 2 minutes to kill a guy. Even if the guy kills you first pissing you off 🙂

        • platinumwarrior121

fail,do you even play both games? lol that’s why they have different game modes like team-death match and domination for close combat engagements dumb ass lol

          • K.E.M

Oops…I ran out of fucks to give 🙂

          • platinumwarrior121

Sure using words such as derp and lame really show you maturity.

          • platinumwarrior121

yes because two words defines someone maturity level, lol i swear some idiots need to stay off the internet

          • Josh

Words don’t define your maturity but the use of words.

    • K.E.M

      Your right…they deserve #5

  • fires

    whats NWU?

    • Keshav Bhat

      Nintendo Wii U

  • Super_Deluxe

Call of Duty is like Apple now, everyone buys it for the name while there are much better alternatives.

    • Shardlotte

I buy it because, oh I don’t know, I like it?

      • Super_Deluxe

That’s good for you but what I meant was Ghosts isn’t as fun and exciting as previous CODs. But it also depends on how you play, if you like slow paced gameplays then you’ll like it. Don’t get me wrong I love COD just not this one because it’s so slow paced because of the gigantic maps and the small amount of players IW decided on. I’ve been a a rusher ever since the MW2 days and the fact that COD had that rusher friendly aspect that battlefield and other shooters didn’t have made me a fan of this franchise. But since this game isn’t so rusher friendly due to the large maps and few players made me dislike it. If they at least raised the standard to 9v9 it would be alot more enjoyable and fun to play. So many corners to check and almost everyone camping made this game so boring. First COD I’ve ever played that made time limit matches normal. And I’m not the only one who feels this way. Unless you’re a slow paced player and don’t mind taking your time finding people, this game isn’t what COD fans expected it to be which is why I think its a fail.

        • Shardlotte

Okay, I see where you’re coming from now. I agree, slow-paced gameplay isn’t for everyone, and I do despise these huge maps. But, have you played a ground war game yet? They’re actually quite enjoyable on the larger maps, and makes them feel like the older CoDs. I don’t know, maybe that’s just me.

          • Super_Deluxe

Haven’t yet because I haven’t bought the next gen consoles yet due to small amount of games out now. Wish they added it to the current gen as well and I don’t buy their excuses for letting us down anymore. It’s not that hard to add 6 more players to just one playlist atleast and would make the game more enjoyable for those who like to rush like myself. And If previous CODs were able to handle it then I’m sure they can with Ghosts. I’m gonna wait till next fall till more games are out and when all the games are fully optimized from them. I don’t think they’re worth buying now, it’s too early. I’ve learned my lesson with the 360 when I bought it at launch. I’ll just stick to battlefield 4, Black Ops 2, 1, MW3, and MW2 for now.

          • Super_Deluxe

Coincidentally my xbox just broke after I posted my last comment. Disc tray won’t read discs anymore. Turned it on, put in the Black Ops 2 and won’t recognize it. Tried it with other games same thing. So sad. I’m definitely gonna miss all my games I’ve bought over the last decade :'(

        • TheShadowReaper

they were saying a lot about BO2 a year ago and the game was really good. while that isnt the case with Ghosts the gaming community is a shitty place to be if you are a COD gamer since everyone just talks smack about COD without even having played the game for more than watching a stream on E3. not to mention the BF fanboys, worst community ever, if you can call it a community that is.

    • GinsuVictim

      Better alternatives? Name them.

      • fires

I dont agree with him, but a great alternative to cod if you enjoy the SnD aspect would be CSGO

  • enzo

Im assuming NWU stand for Nintendo WiiU

  • MichiganerE

    Totally didn’t expect this! (sarcasm)

  • Bill

Call of duty is such a huge franchise, i’m not surprised it got #1. Regardless of all the bad talk about it, gamers will still stick to it and play it.

  • Darvald

I don’t understand why all these ‘rushers’ complain about not finding people in these so called ‘huge’ maps.

I don’t really have problems finding enemies, only after I have called in several streaks causing people to back out, I have problems finding people, and that, most of the times happens on maps like Siege or Stonehaven.

It’s just a case of getting used to the spawns and playing against 6 enemies.

  • Guest

I believe people need to understand that creating a perfect game in just 2 years is NOT easy! I’m a software developer mysefl

  • Guest

I believe people need to undersand that making a perfect or nearly-perfect game in just 2 years is NOT easy. I know a lot of things about software development and i know from my knowledge and experience that making a game that looks as good, feels as good and has as much stuff as call of duty (i’m talking about any COD but ghosts) in just 2 years is NOT easy.
    Add in that:
    1. During the first year the studio also has to work on dlc and patches for the last COD
    2. Call of duty up until bo2 was developed for ps3, xbox 360 and pc. With bo2, Wii U was added in the list, and with ghosts, we also had ps4 and xbox one. Developing any kind of application for that many systems is just not easy and consumes a lot of time, most of it used to tweak the application to the needs of each console. Also, the next-gen consoles are something that developers are not as familiar they are with the ps3 and the xbox 360.

Personally, i’m sure that the time given for doing what they intended to do was just not enough. They tried to add a new modes, create a new engine and much more.
If the time is not enough then you cant expect to have everything running perfectly from the very first day. You cant have no bugs, no bad spawns, no glitches, no unbalanced guns (although they did a pretty good work here), etc.
I’m sure things will keep getting better as more patches keep coming.
That’s a important thing about programming: the same thing can be done in many ways. Some are easier to implement but consome more resources. Some others are more difficult to implement and require more time and thinking, but they consume much less resources. I pesronnally play mostly on PC and my PC does have a somewhat hard time with ghosts. Ghosts on PC once needed 6GBs of RAM. It now needs 4. In my opinion, this is because they didn’t have time to do somethings as they should, did them in a more resources-consuming way and when they had enough time, after launch, they did them in a less recources-consuming way and therefore made the game need less RAM. I’m sure that they will keep this up and we’ll have better performance on PCs as well as on other platforms as more pathces come.

I believe all these problems would be resolved if another studio starts developing call of duties and then each studio has 3 years to develop their game. They would have more time for debugging (finding any bugs and fixing them), more time for gun/perks balancing, more time for better map designs, etc.
They could also add entielry new things into the game which i’m sure they want to, but can’t add now because of their limited time.

Personally i think that they did quiete a good job for the things they wanted to do and the time they had.

    • MichiganerE

You know that Sledge Hammer is joining the yearly CoD cycle right? Now will have IW, h3arc, and SH all developing their own games, which means more development time.

    • TAKANYAN

Treyarch has a Wii U team that gets the code from the developer and ports it for the console.

Ghosts didn’t launch very strong compared to past CoD’s, but through the holiday season it did pretty well all things considered. My unprofessional guess is that total units sold is above MW2 at the same point in the release cycle (though over its lifetime Ghosts will almost certainly sell less than MW2 has).

    • I think it sold less then the past CoDs because of the confusion with current and next gen

  • Bring back the old CoDs

Call of Duty started getting boring and stupid when they started to go like 15-20 into the future like Black Ops 2 & Ghosts, they need to go back to the time like MW 1,2&3 WaW and Black Ops 1 and I know the MW series is set in times like 2016 but they still had a modern feel with real modern weaponry unlike Black Ops 2 with all it’s X-ray scopes fictional weapons and

  • Josh

COD IS NOT DEAD! The idea is – the game is just the same each year with new modes, maps, guns and a slightly improved engine. What they need is something that will be a game changer, something crazy and never tried before. They need to take it to the next level and haven’t found a way yet. Until then expect the same for another 3 or 4 years when finally they get thier eureka moment and fully use next gen to its potential.

    • GinsuVictim

I was about to give you a ^ UNTIL I saw “intill”.

      • Siftblade of Rivia

You don’t thumbs him up because of a simple typo? That’s kinda dumb.

  • Poplur33

I hate how you’re forced to use certain perks it should be free. Give us all toughness scavenger or full mags, and reduce all the point values. What’s the big deal of having an extra primary or an extra attatchement? Or unlimited sprint in these huge Madagascar-esque maps? And to me the controls in the game don’t seem as fluid u die the same way as Bo2 where u can’t see what happened or can’t react.. Or maybe it’s just the shitty x1 sticks. Also stop catering to the 12 year olds and just give us what we want I thought this was an m rated game.. The 12 year olds r gonna buy it anyway. I hate iw they troll us by saying trolley w ieds in the trailer and they won’t nerf them and then they give us another sniper gun like we need it. Plus the marksman r stupid I thought they would be like the scopeless snipers from waw bolt action. So many things wrong they have everything just a bad recipe. A few easy tweaks and the game could be good but they still won’t listen

    • Poplur33

Reduce the damage and put stopping power and jug back plz Icu is terrible hardly notice it! Also it’s stupid how ready up and QuickDraw r there give us that too. I know they wanted a perfect 35 perks but that isn’t good they need a tier system I liked that better bc they try to innovate by giving us things that we need/ take essential things we like and put them as an option. Needs major perk rebalancing

  • Ryumoau

Suprised to see Black ops 2 also made it in the top ten overall sales for the year.

Got ghost on the first day it came out and the first one to get it
