When Onslaught first launch last night on Xbox One, it appeared that some new map names or possibily the internal code names of the Onslaught maps were leaked. The names leaked are the same ones that were reported earlier in November. All these names appear to be codes names; not the final names.

  • Battery
  • Red River
  • Rumble
  • Dome

One user, @Matt_Lawrence02, sent us an image that when he tried loading up Red_River, the Containment background image appeared, which leads us to believe that these aren’t future map names.

Thanks for all the tips! Main image via @Pysco_Slim

crazy man thanks for the news. Meanwhile the update wouldn’t install on my xbox one and i canceled the installation. Now it’s re installing the WHOLE game. Started at 8:00, now it’s 10:20 and only at 39% smh.

    • Poop

Same with me. And the DLC is taking long as fudge.

    • HenryDF

      #xboneproblems 😛

    • Batman

What? Its normal, there is a way you could have instaled it way easier

  • shanafan

A Dome remake sounds fun. I wonder if the DLC will come to Wii U 😛 Hmm, I hope the new patch at least makes it.. or maybe one weekend of double XP??

    • Grigori

      Strikezone= dome
      Sovereign= highrise

      • Grigori

Why downvote it? It’s true information..

        • Paul Thomas

Well because that’s never been legitimately proven. That’s why you got down voted.

          • TheDarkWaypoint

            Maybe just use your eyes?

        • Mitch

Because it’s utter BS? Strikezone is based on Dome, but it isn’t a remake. And Highrise = Sovereign? I don’t see it, show me.

          • TheDarkWaypoint

Sovreign is a relative of Highrise. But Dome is extremely similar with only few changes…

          • Paul Thomas

Again show me definitive proof that they are. Because until then there is no proof.

          • TheDarkWaypoint

            Search youtube about the subject…

          • Paul Thomas

I’m not going to search it. If your willing to make the argument then provide the evidence.

          • Batman

It is a smaller version with more obstacles and no climbing objects, otherwise it is exactly like high rise

          • Aldo

Sovereign is nothing like Highrise. If they were, I might like Sovereign but as it stands I hate it.

      • Siftblade of Rivia

Actually lines of site and gameplay are completely different. The only similar thing is how the map looks on the minimap.

      • Shardlotte

Strikezone feels better than Dome ever did. It has different elevations and sightlines. Also, Sovereign is nowhere near Highrise. It’s like you just looked at the minimap and said “Yeah, I guess they look kind of similar. MUST BE A REMAKE.”

        • TheDarkWaypoint

It has some parts of Highrise… Not much though.

          • Paul Thomas

Ok so because Sovergin has an underground area it must be a remake of Downturn too? No just because it has “parts” doesn’t make it a remake.

          • Grigori

Search on youtube, you will understand

          • Paul Thomas

I’m not going to search it. If your willing to make the argument then provide me with the evidence.

          • TheDarkWaypoint

Lazy. You know what? I rather enjoy the fact that you are incorrect. Why would I wan’t to help you anyways…

          • Paul Thomas

Because you have no proof. If you actually had it then you’d show it. Otherwise it’s like writing a research paper for a class and telling your professor to find your sources.

          • TheDarkWaypoint

You are that special kind of stupid? Well hold on I’ll link you videos… But seriously. How do you not see it? And even now that I’ll link them you’ll probably just still not agree. “That pixel is 1mm too high” Or some bs like that.

          • Paul Thomas

Thank you, was that so hard? Also the two are very close, but to say strikezone is a remake is a bit of a stretch. There are a few lines of sight that exist in one and not the other. So yea they are similar, but not a remake like Studio was in BO2.

          • TheDarkWaypoint

If you say that wasn’t hard why didn’t you do it? And yes it is not a direct remake but it wasn’t my original point. The point was it is still almost the same map which means that it would be extremely retarded to release dome as DLC.

          • Paul Thomas

Well I doubt they’ll re-release dome since strikezone is similar. It’s more likely that it is the code name. Like how Moon in BO1 was called zombie_paris. Also it’s not my responsibility to look up a video you mention on the internet when their are millions on the web.

          • fires

FUN FACT: its called zombie_paris, because it was originally supposed to be in the catacombs. Then treyarch was like, moon zombies, fuck yea.

          • Paul Thomas

Yea I remember hearing that it was suppose to be in paris. I just used it as an extreme example.

          • fires

stupid, not retarded. They may have similar layouts, but, playing it, its different from dome. You cant get those hectic lobbing through the roof, or the unforgettable first 5 seconds of everyone trying to get collaterals. I’d like to get dome verbatim though, it should be free, like terminal was. But saying it would be something along the lines are useless probably goes unmerited.

          • TheDarkWaypoint
  • This was just a error that appeared on the Xbox One,These are the Onslaught DLC maps just with there actual coding name.

    • Mitch

Doubt that. It says ”LUA_MENU_MAPNAME_BATTERY”, implying that in the menu’s it should show up as a map named Battery. Also, there was a leak around mid-late November I believe, which also leaked these map names. Along those maps we also had ‘Boneyard’, which is Ignition, Boneyard was Scrapyard’s codename in MW2. Also codenames like ‘Gaza’, ‘Comp’ and ‘Swamp’ leaked back then.

      • Intricate

Just saying that “LUA_MENU_MAPNAME_BATTERY” is the string for what’s it actually supposed to be. CoD uses a weird system where all strings reference to some text that’s saved in a fastfile (games format). http://qs.lc/dukip/3do.png (CoD 4 localizedstring – english)
So it could even be named LUA_MENU_MAPNAME_COOKIES and it could actually be name “Monster”

  • MaRico Spikes

Just went to callofduty.com they have a countdown that has 6+ hrs before onslaught is released.
Usually we would’ve had @10 am est.

    • Mitch

      It’s already out for hours…

  • Condemnt

I dont want remakes i want old maps, the should release a dlc of the top 5 favourite maps throught call of duty, they could hold a vote or something. That would be sick

    • IT4ZERI-Fariko T4ZER

      YES!

    • TheShadowReaper

why should we stop at 5? let it be 10 or 15 even! i think the people that buy map packs are kinda getting ripped off. 15 usd/euros for 4 maps and thats it? yeah 1 alien/zombie map, hooray!!! no…

anyways, a big count of maps would justify the price for me but since that isnt the case…meh.

      • Siftblade of Rivia

That’s life, man. Try eating a hotdog at a baseball game, $10. When a company knows they can sell you something that you can’t get from anywhere else, they have the ability to overprice. Once you enter the stadium, you can’t leave and go buy a hotdog from somewhere else. It gives them the ability to overprice EVERYTHING. COD DLC is the same, you can’t buy it from other companies since IW are the only ones that make them. Therefore they can charge a high price that isn’t too unreasonable. Plus they’re a business, it’s their goal to make money.

        • TheShadowReaper

then its your goal to boycott them and not give them your money. the only dlc i ever bought for COD is for BO1 and thats because it was half-price off on a Steam sale. why people cant just play a game with the starting maps? i can understand for a game like Ghosts which all of the maps suck so, its either buy dlc or not play the game (so dont play it) but for the rest of COD games which had awesome starting maps i cant understand. why buy something overpriced that you can find anywhere else that isnt such a big of a deal? people are suckers for everything it seems and when they see something overpriced they wanna throw money at it for no reason at all. whether its an iphone or a COD dlc, they always get caught for some reason. and that buffles me a lot…

          • Batman

The only CoD with completely terrible maps was black ops 2

          • Siftblade of Rivia

Yeah BO2 default maps sucked. On the contrary, BO1’s default maps were way better than any of the DLC maps (except zombies).

          • TheShadowReaper

not true. MW3 and Ghosts have the worst maps i’ve ever played on a COD game. BOII certainly didnt had good maps but…oh whatever, i see your point. but i personally dont believe that BOII had such bad maps. after all we have seen worse as i stated above.

          • Siftblade of Rivia

I agree, but let’s be honest. The majority of players aren’t going to boycott. This stuff has been $15 for so long that everyone has accepted it. It’s like, a group of 20, 30, even 1000 people decide to boycott, right? Well COD still has 1,000,000+ other players that will still buy it. The boycott will barely scratch the system. The only time I see a boycott happening is if they decide to raise the price to $20. Other than that, we’re stuck with the current price. This is where I usually make my decision: Do I REALLY want this DLC for fun, or do I just want it to have it. If it’s the latter, I try to save my money, because that’s the best I can do.

          • TheShadowReaper

yeah i see your point. although i dont understand why people think that its a requirement to buy these maps. most of them suck…oh well, hyper-consumption. i guess its in the human blood.

          • Siftblade of Rivia

Exactly. Most people buy them just to have them, because they feel obligated to feel like they need everything for the game to be complete. I feel it too, it’s my instinct to want to buy it, but I have to ask myself that question: Do I really want it? I think that’s the difference, me and you have the ability to ask ourselves if it’s necessary. I wasn’t going to even buy Ghosts, but I felt like I had to because all my friends were going to be playing that. I returned the game a few days later and lost about $30, lesson learned.

          • TheShadowReaper

the downside to PC gaming with Steam is that you cant return a game. they say that they may return it once or if u beg them a lot but i wont even bother. since i payed it i’ll keep it, the money has gone to IW and Acti anyways so there is no point in returning it. as for IW COD games…i think i’ve met my quota. Treyarch all the way and nothing else. i might try new games too now that i wont have to buy IW games anymore. and yeah, people feel obligated for some reason. the consumerism of today, a dreadful era for gaming all together imo.

          • Bmeowmix

Or maybe we like iPhones/CoD DLC

    • thebulky1cometh

The idea of a social media-based vote for last 8 maps to be released would be freaking awesome.

      • SpacemanSpliffz

        Nuh-uh.
All we would get is 5 different “remakes” of nuketown and firing range.

    • AverageJoe

So Basically a COD CLASSICS game! as long as plays like COD4

  • Batman

Does this Dlc worth? How many people are playing it?

  • wiggles

the dlc maps should be carried across the different titles as we are paying for them and within a year it is wasted and forgotten even if it was 2 fan favourite maps from each title

  • some2example2

please stop comparing the great game that was mw2 to the crap, besides black ops, that was released afterwards.

the attention to detail, the factions, maps, weapons, killstreaks, the special guest star announcers, was the golden age of call of duty.

it was fun. the monstrosity that the game is now, with girl characters and pink guns, lame music, multiple reskinned killstreaks, ie. jugger, maniac and assualt, i.e. vulture and grypon, horrible generic maps, it is not accurate to call this call of duty.

    • TheDarkWaypoint

Yeah that’s nice but not everyone agrees with you… In my opinion MW2 is the worst CoD ever.

      • Roadripper

Personally I had the most fun on MW2, spent the most time on it, and it is still a fun game to this day, only bad thing is hackers, although I haven’t come across any lately, noob tubes didn’t annoy me so much

      • TheHitman1982

MW2 was the BEST CoD ever

  • Jon Cameron

This was literally posted months ago. I was one of the sources. Does it need a new article? @_@

  • Moeen

Activision just confirmed that it is the maps for map pack 2 https://twitter.com/ATVIAssist/status/429503076941459456

  • Sergeant Viktor Reznov

they need to make a multiplayer map of the Santa Monica attack.
