Infinity Ward has just tweeted an image for Modern Warfare’s faux hawk protagonist, John “Soap” MacTavish that appears to be holding a Honey Badger from Call of Duty Ghosts. Looks like we can expect more character skins soon, legendary pack 2 perhaps?

    Boo ya!

    • SilentNova

      Quite

  • Michael

Here we go again. Same comments as last time. WHO GIVES A FLYING FUCK ABOUT THESE SKINS. You don’t even see your character anyways except for when ur in the death animation. It’s a waste of money.

    • 111AlaN111

      Remember: People will always buy

      • SilentNova

That was good, still not as good as Remember…no Russian

      • Michael

        Exactly no doubt about it.

    • SilentNova

On the contrary. You do actually see it, well, at least in the hand models you do hahaha

      • Michael

Yeah wow in the hands ???? good one

        • SilentNova

          It’s true! Hahahha

    • Batman

I like these skins, I always get 1 or 2 per CoD

      • exeterman2

Cool story bro, seeing as this has not been done in any previous cod…

        • omch

Actually bo2 did them….so….try again good sir

          • exeterman2

No. Blops 2 did camos, not skins. Where do you people come from?

    • Keshav Bhat

Skins are Micro items. Micro Items are DLC. DLC is a big part of Call of Duty. We are a Call of Duty news site, so we give a flying fuck.

      • Duke of hazard

        Legend.

      • Michael

Now that is true. I really didnt mean any disrespect but come on, in reality do most people in the cod community give a damn about these micro transactions. Most of us no, some of us yes. Me, I honestly don’t care. I’m just saying my opinion cause I’m entitled to. Same goes for everyone else here.

        • Marshall

Well, how about just not read the article? Saves us all time.

          • Michael

Oh well idk man maybe I’m a fan of the cod franchise since late cod 4/ waw era and i like to be up-to-date on the latest cod news and give my opinions about it. And like I said in my last comment, I’m entitled to my own opinions here. Same goes for you. I gave my opinion. You dont like it then go fuck yourself and walk it off what can I tell ya ??????

        • Jippy

I really like the micro dlc items, keeps the game fresh and wondering whats gonna come out next. I was really hoping they would add soap and my wish came true.

        • exeterman2

Actually it appears to be the majority who do care. Most people on the game appear to have at least one micro DLC.

      • Mr Doge

Wow so much burn you need Aloe Vera.

      • NuttyTheSquirrel

“Micro Items are DLC. DLC is a big part of Call of Duty.”
        UNFORTUNATELY!
This microtransactions bullshit is getting out of hand. The wolf skin for example, should be ABSOLUTELY FREE, since it already was in the game. And the season pass should give you all the camos, skins, patches, etc.

        • PandaMan

The Season Pass states that it will only give you access to all four DLC Map Packs. Unless you want to start paying upwards of $70 or $80 for the Season Pass, I’d stop complaining.

          • NuttyTheSquirrel

” Unless you want to start paying upwards of $70 or $80 for the Season Pass.”

No I don’t, I’m saying that the fucking camos should be FREE for Season Pass holders.

People talk about Battlefield’s Premium, that it is bullshit, and that only EA would do that but, clearly, Activision has done way worse. With Premium you get new soldier camos, weapon camos, portraits, special events, emblems, dog tags, knives + 5 DLC pack for $60 (I think). And the Season Pass costs the same and you get 4 DLC packs and some patches/emblems. All the camos costs $2 which is, nonetheless, a fuking robbery. Now if you want people to see your from a certain country, you can’t because freedom and patriotism has to be bought, “special skins” which are just a copy-paste from MW3 with better skin colors are 4$ each. Extra slots have also to be bought… I’m not even going to continue, because this microtransaction shit is getting out of hand.

          • HenryDF

“Unless you want to start paying upwards of $70 or $80 for the Season Pass.”

“No I don’t, I’m saying that the fucking camos should be FREE for Season Pass holders.”

You pay $40 for the Season Pass. You save around $5, since you’re making a guarantee to Activision that you are going to purchase the four DLC Map Packs, rather than Activision taking a risk and only selling one or two map packs per player. Not complicated.

However, the camos cost/skins cost $2 and the Legend Pack costs $4. Ok, with me so far? If we’re going to treat the micro-DLC as if it has concluded now, with the most recent wave being the Villains skins, the overall price if one was to buy it all would be $34.

Now, Activision want to make money off this DLC. That’s the only reason it’s there. Therefore, it will never be free with the Season Pass when the Season Pass costs just $40.

If Activision were in a good mood, it’d cost about $65 if it was to include all micro-DLC up until now. However, they won’t do that. Why? Because all the fucking DLC is optional. $40 for a Season Pass to maps is OK. But why should they want to make a potential loss on micro-DLC?

The only micro-DLC that makes an actual difference to the game is the Extra Slots. It costs $2. If you wanna cry over having to spend $2 on a game, be my guest, because it’ll make you look even more pathetic.

The micro-DLC is not getting out of hand. At all. It is optional – you do not have to buy it. To say that you expect a company to make a loss of $34 per player simply to please butthurt kids like you is just delusional. Use your fucking head.

          • jordanxbrookes

Exactly what people with brains would say. I don’t like the Ducky camo, so what do I do? I don’t buy it and carry on playing the game. You sir, know how to put it against these mindless peasants. I salute you.

          • PandaMan

Not trying to be a douche, but it’s actually $50 for the season pass. 😉 But your point is still valid

          • HenryDF

Ah sorry, I’m in the UK and it’s £40 here, so I just thought it’d be the same.

          • PandaMan

            Lol, it’s alright. I didn’t know

          • PandaMan

The micro transactions are just something optional! All they do is visually enhance your character. If they mean that much to you, just buy them.

          • fires

Because EA charges money for a DLC that was probably ready by the very first day, COD only announced the 4 map pack names, but EA had China Rising all ready to go, maybe some bug testing, but it was already done. Remember boy, you cant spell STEAL WITHOUT EA.

          • fires

Dog tags? Knives? Those are also mostly copy paste, and they are designed on a small dogtag, what you are saying is if we spent 2 bucks a pop for ONLY and emblem and/or title, THAT, would be BS, but its not.

          • NuttyTheSquirrel

You don’t know what you’re talking about do you? The only copy pasted knife is the bayonet, which is the standard USMC knife, the ACB-90, which was in BF3, exclusive to premium users, but it still has a different texture which mades it looks “old”… And the machete, which was on the Single-Player, in 1 or 2 missions. BF4 has 16 knives, 3 of them were in Battlefield 3. If 3 is more than half of those 16, check your math. And no there’s is no dogtag from BF3 that is in BF4, the only similar dogtag is the “I was there”, you got it if you “where there” for the BF4 reveal.

The Shank, Bowie, Carbon Fiber, Scout, Survival, Trench, Boot, Improvised, Dive, Tactical and precision where never in BF before. And the BJ-2 was the knife on BF2142, which came out in 2006.

      • PandaMan

You’re officially my new best friend after that

    • Baldmanz_RAGE

No one seems to remember that Treyarch attempted something similar in BO1 with facepaint. Treyarch even said they abandoned this because you can’t see your character while playing. Its like IW was completely oblivious to what was tried within their own freaking company(Activision). IW didn’t bother to use any of the good ideas from Treyarch. Shame!

      • HenryDF

…and yet they’re making money from it. People are buying it. I see you around here a lot, surely you know how much Activision craves that money?

These skins and models can just be copied and pasted from MW3 or the Campaign, in some cases enhanced for next-gen, and that’s it. An Infinity Ward guy could do the model in about one day, it can be implemented into the game over the space of about 2-3 days, and then Activision can go sell them for $2 a piece. 10,000 people buy it? Activision make $20,000 off one IW’s work, from just 3-4 days.

    • YOLO

Why are you trolling this article if you hate the Micro items, get a life and stop wasting your time getting off on naked pics of pokemon

      • Michael

By that comment, I can already tell that you are the homo that looks a nude Pokemon pics. Your the only human being that would think of something like that you weirdo. If anything it’s you that should get a life you hater.

        • Guest

Homo? Why can’t Pokemon be female? I wouldn’t say he is hating on you just telling you to give it a breake. Seriously go back through everything you have said and you’ll see that enough is enough.

    • HyruleKing88

      “It’s a waste of money”.

You’re not being forced to buy it.

  • Yea just rip them off from the past cod games put it into ghosts and want money for it

    • SilentNova

Well, it’s not like IW is telling you “hey! Buy this our we will lock the game permenetally from you!” No, they are not. I see what you are trying to say, after all, I come from a generation where games did not need to have DLC, what you buy is what you get (play station one era was so magical, and the gameboy advance was amazing) but this is the generation we are in now, it’s your choice if you want to buy the micro transactions or not dude. But I totally get where you are coming from : )

      • lol i dont even have the game,im just saying its wrong to do that bro

        • SilentNova

Yeah and I feel you. Hahaha good call on skipping this one… Not the greatest experience

          • What do you mean by skipping this one

          • Because you didn’t buy it.

          • Im not gonna buy this for pc,i tried it first on a free weekend….the only thing i enjoyed was Infected

  • Drillz

Im still pissed over the lack of “masks” in the game. It would have been a great addition since the first teaser were about masks. There are few to select from but it would have been great if we got a editor where we could customize our own, along with the gear kind of like Body Count and Warcry for those who arent in clans.

    • SilentNova

Firstly, who cares about the masks? Only people whom you kill can actually see the damn thing. At least with the character skins, you see a change in your overall character. The hand models change, new gloves. The first batch of micro DLC were trash IMO, sadly got Price but whatever. Got Makarov which is pretty cool. And now Soap…damn it. Depending on how his hand models are, maybe, maybe I’ll get it. Most likely yeah hahaha

      • Drillz

Lol, I mean if they took the customization to the full they could have let players customize everything about their soldiers. Boots, Patterns on the uniforms, changing glove colors and patterns. It would have really made the characters stand out more.

        • SilentNova

Standing out or not, they wouldn’t put that kind of time and effort into it lol. These micro DLC don’t faze me one bit, if the Soap one looks decent, I’ll stupidly buy it lol, if it looks like a re hash of Rorkes hand models, ill skip it.

        • Baldmanz_RAGE

100% agree. That would of been smart. Also a mask creator similar to the the emblem creator would of been cool where you could design a completely unique design for your mask. Too little too late anyway. I probably won’t play this game anymore. I hope Sledgehammer is doing their homework on what not to do from Ghosts. Lol!

          • If you could design your own masks everyone would literally be dickheads

          • Mr Doge

No, just no. Not “Custom Art” again. Bo1 and Bo2 was bad enough with the pornography on everyone’s Emblem I don’t want to be killing people with dicks on their head. Just, no.

          • exeterman2

I enjoyed the custom art (emblems) because it was a nice platform for graphic design to be easily shown off. If you put effort in you could get a really nice emblem. Just ignore all the 8 year olds with genatalia everywhere.

          • Baldmanz_RAGE

Exactly. Besides you could report them if it offends you. Genatalia aside I would of loved to see what people would of created. Some of the emblems from BO2 that were created were pure artistry. Oh well, it was just a thought that will never happen anyway.

          • exeterman2

It is especially interesting with clans. My clan had clan colours and themes (they changed every few weeks to keep things fresh). It would’ve been great so that you could look the part in battle.

      • Batman

It is meant to strike fear at the hearth of your enemies, and fear in the hearth of their followers.
So you dont need to see it

        • SilentNova

Batman I love you. Be my hero of California! We pay good money to people of the law! Plus we have insurance

  • Sup3r Solider

You could say that Infinity Ward is…dropping the soap with these skins

  • Jacol

Honestly, I would prefer to see HD remake of Cod 4 / MW2 on the new engine rather than skins…

    • PandaMan

      Lol “New Engine” ?

      • mrpompom

Rotlmfao new engine on a new car but cod has the same Toyota engine since cod4… P2P a remake will never happen not even time to redo it cause there too busy fucking up ghost and what’s looking to be a better gfx version of a what’s a golden died game.

        • PandaMan

Well hopefully with the new three year dev cycle we’ll be able to see that new 2015 Tahoe engine. ?

    • clercq1983

They don’t have a new engine, they just upgraded the old one…

      • Derrick Wingler

you just described every “new engine” from every developer over the last decade

        • Duke of hazard

Yet according to the community, every game except cod has a brand spanking new engine every release.

          • Mr Doge

            Yep!

          • Sal

            See GTA V. lol

        • NuttyTheSquirrel

Nope. Frostbite is an engine made from scratch for the first Battlefield: Bad Company, which came out in 2008.

          • PandaMan

Still newer than Quake which CoD has had since the beginning

          • Duke of hazard

Frostbite was built off the refractor engine. So yes there engine is as old as cod’s.

          • fires

But was “Built”, CODs current engine is improved off of the IW engine, which is a heavily modified Quake engine to accommodate for the mechanics in COD, IE; Aim down sights, grenades, mantling, etc.

          • RdJokr

I don’t see anyone complaining when Source Engine was used for
Titanfall. And look how that turned out. Old ass engine, and still
looking beautiful as fuck. Your argument is invalid.

          • PandaMan

Number one, you did t realize my flaw. Most of the CoD series is based off of the Infinity Ward Engine, with heavy updates every year. Second, the devs for TitanFall had more time to update the engine and make it better, where Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Sledgehammer only have about 2 years. Think about your points. Therefore, you’re argument is invalid.

    • Jacol

I was referring to the BRAND NEW engine, not Ghosts engine =.=

    • fires

“Modified” engine, that was “Modified” off of a game from ’97(Quake II). Works well for current gen though.

  • clercq1983

Owke, the skins look cool. But I think they should spend there time on fixing things instead of making skins and other BS…

  • Grigori

Who the bloody hell is Soap?

    • Edwin Cortez

      The title should say that.

    • Keshav Bhat

I’m guessing you never played Modern Warfare franchises.

      • Duke of hazard

I think he just did the Price reference in cod 4.

        • The line is “what the hell kind of name is soap eh, how’d a muppet like you pass selection”

          Or mw2s’ line “who’s soap”

          • Duke of hazard

            Oh. Couldn’t remember.

          • No problem!

            every little helps!

          • Grigori

            This guy understands

          • I payed attention to lines from the tf141 and sas due to a Scottish guy in it. (well, i am Scottish)

          • Grigori

It was mw2, the gulag mission

          • Yeah, after price stops pointing a gun at your head :/

        • Grigori

          Exactly!

      • Baby Jesus

And you call this a “Call of Duty site”.

      • Grigori

I played the shit out of them. And I mean the line..
        Great job mod!

        • Josh

You didn’t put the line in quote marks therefore how do you expect him to know you were referencing the game or asking a genuine question.

          • Grigori

If you have played modern warfare, you know what I mean.. And I seriously didn’t expect a reaction like that from a mod.

          • Josh

I have played the modern warfare series and understand what you are saying but it wasn’t in quote marks suggesting you were asking a question. It’s not like the line is a incredibly well known though anyway.

          • Grigori

            Who cares

  • Jasco

Yeah. IW fishing for more ways to make us spend 5-10$ on skins and packs.

    • jordanxbrookes

But are they really making you spend money? No, of course not.

    • Keshav Bhat

I don’t understand tho. Activision is a business. A business needs money. So the business is selling an optional item for a certain price for those customers who like the items. What’s the issue?

      • Sgtsclark

I’ll second your comment good sir! I think it’s a great option to have extra stuff to purchase or not. If you want it get it, if you don’t then freakin don’t

      • MichiganerE

Of course a business needs money. But did any of the previous CoD games before Black Ops 2 have any micro-transactions or character customization? No. But were those previous games without micro-transactions or character customization still making Activision tons of money? Yes. Also, considering how many franchises Activision already has and with Destiny on the way, Activison will be fine. I just hope micro-transactions don’t become a staple in every single game.

  • Batman

I just want BO1, and simon ghost riley

    • jordanxbrookes

Black Ops will always be my favourite Call of Duty game. Aah the memories… And then Black Ops 2 came around. That was a different story… …at least for me it was…

  • I’ve never seen people so butthurt over Capitalism before. Get out of here you Commies. 😉

    • Bob Mit

So true my friend. I guess people just like to bitch.

    • Sal

      ‘Murica!

  • FUCK YEAH!

  • FnG

    Its The FNG sir

  • jordanxbrookes

    YES! YES! YES!

  • jordanxbrookes

    “Makarov… knows… Yuri…” – Soap’s last words

  • Starz

If Sledgehammer just did a remake of mw1 and mw2. MP only with all the guns and the same gunstats and all the maps and mw2 killstreaks. That would be awesome!

    • Mitch

Sorry, I’ve had enough of the unbalanced BS called MW2.

      • Plato/Tomato

Same, only redeeming thing about MW2 was the shotguns :p

      • likwify

That unbalanced bs made the game fun to play!

      • exeterman2

It was more fun and more balanced than ghosts or blops 2

        • Mitch

Did you just seriously say it’s more balanced that Ghosts and BO2?

          • Sal

I think he did… better call the asylum.

          • exeterman2

Yes. Ghosts and blops 2 are impossible to play. I used every gun in mw2 and so could almost everyone I knew.

  • capt save a hoe

Pc/ps4 gamers can relate if cod were to do what warframe is doing for the pc and ps4 world. Alot of good things are too come. What I mean is forget buying a game but imagine if it were free and all you had to do is “collectively” buy tokens/platinum/cod money. To then buy whatever you want guns, soldiers, attc, etc. Let’s say 100 cod dollars for .99 and that buys you a modern simple gun that has to be leveled to idk 80 ranks able to be prestige 5 times. Ex of course…… Catch my drift?? Anyways love the cod games just feel ripped off as of ghost even bo2 now cause there getting shit now and then we got less shit. I want to see maps worth buying guns worth buying not getting fucked up and given half ass work…

    • exeterman2

You don’t have to buy anything in warframe. You earn it.

  • TheGamerBeast

another SKIN ? alot of skins for ghosts is this gonna turn to league of legends ? lol 😛

  • exeterman2

Can they not do some of the other epic characters? MacMillan for example, but I want him to say “Oi Suzy” when I sneak up on someone!

    • BSOG

MacMillan was only in a Ghillie Suit when seen in-game, so Infinity Ward are only able to market him as a Ghillie Suit, unless they can come up with a look for him.

      • exeterman2

Doesn’t necessarily have to be Macmillan then, could have staff sergeant Griggs

    • MichiganerE

Just go unlock and equip an gillie suit. There, you have MacMillian.

      • exeterman2

But I really want his voice.

  • JVM223

This is actually legends pack 3. Price and Makarov were 1 and 2.

  • Alex

    Continue? Yes or No.

How about, NOT A FUCKIN CHANCE.
Deleted this shite off my PS4 taking up valuable HDD space.
I hope to GOD Sledgehammer delivers, otherwise 2 more years of shite before Trayarch has to step in to restore whatever dignity this franchise has left.

Ohh how the mighty have fallen

    • Sal

Butthurt because you got owned on every game when trying to rush like a headless chicken?

I’m sorry you never played MW2 or CoD 4 and learned to rush properly on a CoD game 😉

      • Joe

Seriously. I don’t understand the hype around Treyarch. I loved Black Ops 1 and enjoyed World at War, but Black Ops II was the biggest piece of kid-friendly, unbalanced garbage. Not to say IW is perfect, but get off the Treyarch bandwagon, please.

        • Sal

I kinda liked BO2, but got bored after getting to master prestige and pretty much switched over to Zombies. And it was kinda balanced, the problem was the hit detection. The only time I’d boot up MP again was if someone invited me to play together.

      • MichiganerE

What does CoD 4 and MW2 have to do with anything?

        • Truth

It has everything to do with it. You learned all the useful things in those games. Treyarch is what fucked up CoD…How you ask? Simplicity, BO II is to simple. Map layout is the same every match. The gun balance is shit. The game is not about skill.

          • MichiganerE

Treyarch fucked up CoD? There really the only developer left to save the franchise, unless Sledgehammer can make a great game. But I will agree that the old Infinity Ward, the one that created CoD 1, 2, 4, MW2, and Titanfall is amazing and is better than Treyarch. But Treyarch is better than the new Infinity Ward that created MW3 and Ghosts. Isn’t simple always better though? As long as the game is fun and the maps are good, I’m fine with the maps being the same. Gun balance I can agree with. Black Ops 1 was the last CoD game that actually took skill, MW3, BO2, and Ghosts don’t.

          • Simplicity of maps is a problem… It makes it so when they try more complicated layouts everyone almost always camps. The stupid spray of the LMG is ridiculous, not to mention the addition of the target finder. This game is more about pulling a good host then being able to react and move.

          • MichiganerE

Simple maps aren’t a problem IF done right. The more recent CoD games have been based on host connection. Seriously, CoD NEEDS dedicated servers, not some bullshit “hybrid” servers.

          • exeterman2

You can’t play like you did successfully in the old cods because they now cater to campers and kids. Plus they recked the game with bad balancing and shite spawns.

Gun balance on BO2 was okay, the problem was the shitstain that the hit detection was. I could not get a 10 killstreak consistently. On Ghosts, I usually manage one every two days.

you know what would be cool is to actually add the characters voice into the game, I play extinction with Makarov and the voices you hear is an insult to the true character, like if your playing Team DeathMatch or whatever playlist and you kill a guy why not add in a cool phrase like “He’s dead! Leave him! Go, go!” quote from Mw2 airport mission
or “That was no message….this is a message” quote also from Mw2 airport mission. Wouldn’t that be awesome to have them say epic phrases at the end of a match or when you kill someone.
Also to all the haters for the skin dlc, honestly who cares, its not your money that’s being spent so why should you care about others. From a financial aspect I think this is a genius way to rake in revenue, people are going to buy it whether you like it or not, that’s just how the world goes round my friends.

Personally, I’d rather have the Call of Duty characters doing the voiceovers rather than Snoop Dogg. Makes you immersed with these guys. Almost like a Campaign-Multiplayer.

  • Wrangler3jr

No new mode not skin why else would it say continue with yes or no next to it I think this will be a completely new mode

  • Tayler Hammond

    The picture is clever 😀

  • Rorke File

  • 935member

If this is a legend pack I think the camo might be a bluish gray color but I’m not sure about the reticle

  • 935member

how come people are only wondering about the skin If this is a legend pack there will be a skin, camo, reticle, patch, and background

  • Josh

Who cares about skins? You only see your skin in the pre-game lobby – waste of money! IW should actually spend time fixing their game so they have players left to play the game. This Is just a way to squeeze what ever money they can out of the remaining people who actually play the game.

“TF2 character customization is shit! You can’t see hats on you!!!1”

Yet look at the fucking economy it has…

  • OmchGaming

Here’s an idea. If you don’t like it, on fucking click on it. Jesus christ people, can you guys nevee be happy? Not every fucking game is going to be like the last.

  • Kyle

In the past CoD’s people complained about not getting new content all the time, only getting new stuff every couple months with the DLC packs, and now of course when IW at least attempts to bring out new content periodically, like the Wolf skin, the Character skins, the new guns, people still bitch about it.

    • I don’t mind the regularly set DLC. In fact I welcome stuff like this. But what I don’t like, is them prioritizing and saying “Hey! Look how cool our game is because we put ducks on a gun!”, rather than focusing on fixing things that are wrong, for example, it took them 4 months to fix the wallbreach under the ship in whiteout. It’s been discovered since december.

If Soap didn’t die, and there was a Modern Warfare 4, this would be an awesome background drop for one of the in-game menus. If SHGames made MW4 I wouldn’t care if people say “Don’t make another Modern Warfare”, I’d be all 4 it. *No pun intended* 😉

  • Tep Kok

Wow, I can’t wait to play as generic shooty man 2009! When he died in that one part I totally cried for hours as I’ve never played a good video game before.

  • Infinity Ward

Well, John “Soap” Mactavish was a big part of the whole Modern Warfare Series so I don’t see why they should not release him to the Ps4 Call of Duty Ghosts Add-ons
