Infinity Ward has posted a new post on the official Call of Duty site giving new information on how Extinction’s new Armory and Teeth system work. The Extinction Armory is now available on all platforms (except Wii U).
Permanent Character Upgrades:

Located at the top of the Extinction Loadout menu via a recent Title Update, the Extinction Armory is filled with permanent character upgrades that can be purchased with the new Teeth currency now obtainable in all episodes.
Upgrades like Stun Armor, Faster Health Regeneration, Damage Upgrade, Start with a Skill Point, and more will now affect each and every future Extinction match once purchased.

Collecting Teeth

Look through the Armory’s list and you’ll see a wide range of abilities with unlock costs as low as 5 all the way up to 50. There are a few different ways of acquiring Teeth, detailed below:

  • Completing a map (+1)
  • Completing a map with a Relic (+1, whether you have one or all five active)
  • Completing with a player that has never completed a map before (+1)
  • Completing a map in Hardcore Mode (+1)
  • Take out 600 Cryptids (+1)
  • Obtaining Ranks 2, 6, 11, and 21 (+1 for each, only counted the first time
  • Reaching a new Extinction prestige level (+1, plus another for each prestige level you have obtained prior to this update)

There is also a Bonus Pool that offers up to 3 Teeth every week. Each time you destroy a Barrier Hive in any episode – by the chopper near the lodge in Point of Contact, the Breeder in Nightfall, the tentacle in Mayday – you will be awarded one of these bonus Teeth. This a great way to easily build up your supply over time. A counter next to the Bonus Pool displays how many days are left before it resets for the following week.

New Episodes, New Upgrades

Along with new Extinction episodes come new Armory upgrades, starting with Devastation, the second downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts. Devastation’s Mayday episode includes four new class abilities that can be further enhanced in-match using Skill Points.

Engineer Upgrade

  • The Engineer lays down a stasis field that Cryptids cannot enter.

Tank Upgrade

  • Force Cryptids to momentarily attack the Tank, who is now invulnerable and able to stun enemies with melee attacks.

Weapon Specialist Upgrade

  • Experience an adrenaline rush, greatly increasing damage inflicted while keeping your bullet weapon clips completely topped off. Nearby allies also receive a modest damage boost.

Medic Upgrade

  • The Medic is surrounded by a therapeutic energy field. Allies inside the field are instantly healed or revived from last stand.

So how soon will Activision charge for more teeth?
    0.99$ for 1 teeth
    5 teeth for 3$
    http://m7.i.pbase.com/o6/96/531896/1/136814057.GUeERtFf.money.gif

    • CharlieIntel

Don’t think they’re going to be charging for that.

      • Crusf

You’d be surprised in this industry.

        • wolfshadow

I still think season pass holders should get at least 1 character skin and 1 weapon skin with each of there releases after all the season pass only saves you like $10 and there up to like +$40 in “extra DLC”

          • fires

You’re already saving $10 dollars on the season pass, get a squad leader customization pack, get weapons earlier than those who buy. Damn, Activision is greedy, but you’re asking for a little too much man. Also, they have the right to ignore you, as it was made clear that the season pass only gave out DLC + squad leader, testing the weapons earlier is just free brownies.

          • wolfshadow

Let me start by saying I know its all cosmetic and there is no need to buy it that said your telling me im asking to much because I have all ready saved $10 but if I were to buy every thing lets add it up $60 for the game $50 for the Season pass and at the rate there going $100+ in extra dlc but your saying asking around another $10 of free extra dlc is too much? Call of duty is always a top selling game so what do they do, they try to make even more money it just seems like more take than give.

          • Amanda G

Its not like you have to have the extra camos. You dont get special abilities with them. Just looks so if you want them so badly just buy them and quit being a whinny bitch. Ghosts is great and if they can make money by selling more camos, like if people want to spend the money on them, then all the more power to ya Activision! As long as its not something that will give them a leg up on the game im cool with it and so should everyone else. Just sayin….

        • tom coon

First of all I love Cod Ghosts. I don’t mind the dlc’s or the micro-transactions ie skins but i really dot want this to be a pay to play game. i know the new content can appeal to people and that’s how they make money but if they start having buy-able teeth, exp, squad points etc it will ruin the point in playing the game

          • ahmedt361

If cod was a free to play I will buy the shit out of it ghost don’t count

    • Daniel M

If you owned a company would you try your hardest to make money?

      • Crusf

Ghosts makes enough money as is. Enough in fact to sustain the company for years to come. Adding Micro DLC is just milking the game and a really poor way of hiding the fact that you want as much money as possible from your player base. There is a clear difference between trying to sustain your company and trying to earn more for the sake of just having more money than other companies.

        • jordanxbrookes

So what your saying is Micro DLC in Black Ops 2 and Ghosts is milking the games, so Activision/Sledgehammer shouldn’t do this for Call of Duty 2014? I kinda agree, but only if the DLC is classed as ‘silly’. Some of the Micro DLC I like, some I don’t. But that’s the point where the ‘it’s optional’ lecture plays in.

          • Crusf

Valid points but It’s not the content of the MicroDLC that bothers me its the way Activision is presenting its business model. I remember a time when customization items were unlockables and companies were satisfied with the money they made with the base game… Sure ‘it’s optional’ but that doesn’t hide the fact that the company is coming off as a greedy fat pig that’s just getting fatter.

          • jordanxbrookes

I’m not the one complaining to you saying ‘it’s optional’, that’s what people say. Like I said I’m ok with it, but there’s a difference between something that’s fun and something that’s way out of hand *COUGH* Ducky Camo *COUGH*

          • Crusf

            Agreed lol

          • fires

i still remember that, *points to all of the UNLOCKABLE aesthetics for ghosts*. At least they didnt pull an EA and advertise a DLC essentially finished on day 1 of BF4. It would be like if they unveiled freefall a couple of months back, and asked you to pay for it

          • Mr Doge

Your kind of stupid you know that? Like most other people who think it’s the “cool” thing to do to hate on Ghosts. How is releasing Micro-DLC “milking” the game? Oh sure it’s fine when TF2 or LoL does it but no it’s the end of the world when CoD does it. Are you that thick?

          • Crusf

Calm down Mr Doge no need for insults. The point of a debate is to not let your emotions get to your head! I am not hating on CoD at all. I’m referring to how companies are going about there business models these days. Tell me something whats better to you paying 4 bucks for a few wmv snippets of Snoop Dog or TF2 hats that you can actually EARN in game with enough effort. I don’t play LoL so I can’t really speak for that game. Calm down buddy!

          • Mr Doge

I’m not trying to insult you, I’m just pointing out a fact that people need find every little thing that is a tiny problem in Ghosts and/or CoD in general and throw crap at it. I like CoD and I used to defend the community against people like the BF community but now it seems that CoD is starting to hate on it self which kinda bothers me. Also I love it how people always say that CoD is unrealistic and/or is no way near Battlefield in “realism” but when they release Micro-DLC for fun camos which you DON’T have to buy the same people who say that Battlefield is way more realistic than CoD start saying “Oh CoD is supposed to be a serious shooter etc…” There’s nothing wrong with Micro-DLC no matter how stupid it is.So what if Activision wants to make more money? Maybe some of it will go to the development of future CoDs but then again I’m wrong because all it seems like these days is that people wake up in the morning to hate on CoD. Isn’t it a waste of time?

          • jordanxbrookes

There’s one a difference though, for me at least. I don’t like TF2 or LoL, whereas I love CoD, and I don’t want CoD to turn into either.

        • Daniel M

So what your pretty much saying is companies would only like to make enough money to sustain the company, to be honest that doesn’t make any sense :/ pretty sure companies wanna make more than just the costs of running the company. How could companies continue to grow without profit ?

          • Crusf

When you sustain a company it means you can pay your employees, the bills, the software to make games etc. When I said they have enough money to sustain the company for years I mean to say that they have enough for those things. Having enough money to continue making games and being able to thrive as a company is entirely different then saying “Hmm… how much money can we possible take from these people.” Which is what many ,including me, believe is Activision’s mindset . It’s corporate greed not genuine money making.

          • Daniel M

But the thing is most companies think like this you cannot say Activison is the only company that wants to make loads and loads of money. I respect your opinion, I just see all companies as the same tbh EA is prob worse than Activison if you ask me lol you can buy your guns via the short-cuts. Also BF is always buggy as :/

Ps soz for bringing battlefield up haha.

  • Ryumoau

This sounds really interesting. I like all the new additions they have been adding to Extinction. 🙂

  • SoulTaker

I call bullshit on this. I’ve completed a map many times and never got a teeth for completing it. I’ve done point of contact least 3 times and was not awarded.

    • wolfshadow

after the update? because I have gotten a tooth for completing the map on all of them

      • SoulTaker

Yes I completed the map with 0 teeth.

        • gg

U only get teeth on regular difficulty or higher

          • Guest

I’ve for a question – if I am an engineer and I do the medic upgrade in mayday will I still get that upgrade (even though I’m not a medic)?

          • John Blue

You don’t “do” the upgrade as a class, you pick the upgrade in Armory and it stays with you permanently.

You can’t use the upgrade if you are not medic.

          • Guest

Thanks, but you know the class upgrades, I know if you buy them with teeth they are permanent, but are they something that you have to physically activate in game (while playing an Extinction match) and can only be used once for that match
OR is it something that is passive and is actually in effect ALL THE TIME during the match?
I would be grateful and it would be much appreciated if you can reply 😀

          • SoulTaker

I play on Public which is automatically regular?

          • Walt Colson

not true. you can get teeth on casual as well you just have to earn more kills to do so.

      • Guest

I’ve for a question – if I am an engineer and I do the medic upgrade in mayday will I still get that upgrade (even though I’m not a medic)

        • Paul Thomas

If you bought the medic upgrade but play as engineer then you won’t be able to use it. Each upgrade is locked to its class. So you’d need to be the medic to get it.

          • Guest

          • Paul Thomas

It’s a permanent ability that last across all games. You activate it and afterwards it goes on a cooldown.

    • Guest

I’ve for a question – if I am an engineer and I do the medic upgrade in mayday will I still get that upgrade (even though I’m not a medic)?

    • Jethro

Are you playing on local? Because it works only when you are online 🙂

  • jordanxbrookes

Not really too into Extinction, but this seems pretty cool. Going off topic, I’m still wondering what Sledgehammer has for their 3rd Mode. I hope they bring back Spec-Ops and make missions capable to allow for 2-6 player co-op. Squads Mode seems pointless to me. I mean I’ve tried it out a few times, but it never interested me whatsoever. Well ok, Safeguard is good, but that’s really it.

    • penis

fightin off against dinosaurs would be really cool

      • jordanxbrookes

No that’s Battlefield’s thing, well their community want to have dinosaurs in Battlefield.

        • 111AlaN111

But BF has never done anything, so SH could take the place.

          • Duke of hazard

Where did the fans come up with the idea of dinosaurs?

          • wolfshadow

there is a few Easter eggs across the games

          • *Cough* Turok *Cough* It would be sick if they did a reboot.

          • 111AlaN111

Turok means nothing, and if there is a 3rd mode it would be a 4 player game mode.

    • Work Hard, Twerk Harder

So maybe have a campaign that focuses on Coop so that it’s better gameplay with others? I remember R6V2 worked like that but I don’t think it’ll be the same with the cod community, while also you can’t take the game as serious in some way, like get attached to a certain character I suppose.

      • Shardlotte

No thanks. I hate games that force you to play co-op for their campaign.

        • Work Hard, Twerk Harder

I think the same really, but it’s getting hard to see variation in FPSs’ campaigns, the gameplay can usually be done by just jumping in and shooting, one like RSV2 again would be interesting, choosing ways to breach into a room and all that jazz. I’m on the fence about CoD doing it of course, but if they do it right then they’re the innovative CoD some people might want – the first CoD that supports working as a team :O

  • jordanxbrookes

I have a video on my YouTube Channel about my personal ideas and speculations on killstreaks in Call of Duty 2014. I hope you will watch and like some of my ideas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cwasv1nwQ0

      Take it your a pubstomper

      • jordanxbrookes

Not really, I finished the match with 7 flag captures and came top on my team. I’ll be lucky if I do well in a match.

        • Hashtag

Defiantly are mate with amplify ew.

          • jordanxbrookes

So because I use Amplify that makes me a pubstomper? Ok.

          • jordanxbrookes

Right so you call me a pubstomper, yet I’m a bad player. How does that work? Also how does playing Infected make me a bad player? What so I have to play game modes that you play in order for me to be a good player? I’ll play what I want to play, I’ll try my hardest to be the best I can be in-game. Don’t like it, go to Start on your PC and click Shut Down. PS What’s your GamerTag?

          • Hashtag

Infected your killing people with no guns haha your a YouTuber your supposed to make the community like you ahah what a first class twat you are

          • jordanxbrookes

So because I make videos on YouTube, I’m supposed to play normal modes? What logic is that? Oh your name calling now, weh weh I’m so upset and offended. Tell me your GT.

          • Hashtag

No because your a YouTuber your supposed to make the community like you fucking idiot haha and zSchofield II

          • jordanxbrookes

People do like me. I’m here to be who I am, not pretend to be the best player ever in a game. And again with the name calling, weh weh I’m so offended you hurt my feelings blah blah blah. Come play Ghosts with me tough guy.

Well then get on Xbox One, I’d like to play with you.

          • Mr Doge

Just ignore him he is not worth your time don’t even bother. He thinks he’s better than you like every other twelvie which like to talk crap a lot.

    • Stop speculating, your wrong

You have no ideas or speculations for the next cods killstreaks you’ve never even seen the game. All these speculation videos are just pointless, all you can really assume about next killstreaks is there’s gonna be a uav sort of streak and a helicopter streak

      • jordanxbrookes

Well it is Call of Duty, and if you’ve seen pretty much every Call of Duty, there are always going to be a UAV-like streak and a helicopter in there. It’s just some ideas I’ve come up with that the fans might want to see as well as myself. It’s ok if you disagree with me. I’m not saying that I’m right or wrong, I’m saying, these are some ideas and the speculation being that SHGames have worked with IW on MW3 in the past. Also the fact you spent time in your day to make an account with that name seems more pointless than my video.

    • Kill Denied

75 percent of your killstreaks are from previous titles, these aren’t ideas. I do like the Black Hawk streak though.

      • jordanxbrookes

It’s things that players I feel would like to return, but I understand where you’re coming from 🙂

        • Kill Denied

I would honestly like a revamped “streak” system, but that’s just me.

          • jordanxbrookes

Same here, but I really don’t think it can be done again. Treyarch were very clever to make the Scorestreak System. I don’t think any of us would have ever thought of that. But who knows, maybe SHGames can make a new system that rewards both kill-based and objective-based game modes.

  • Abraham

Don’t waste your time trying to get the teeth. I have earned at least 50 teeth so far, and the upgrades are not very rewarding. Medic and Tank upgrades, for example, only last a few seconds, and then you have to wait a minute to use them again. The “faster health regeneration” is unnoticeable and certainly not comparable to the rate health regenerates from Medic or Feral Instinct. I played with a gamer who hypno-knifed a rhino, which requires 50 teeth, and the the rhino only lasted about a minute. Rhinos are no match for aliens that can jump on walls. Don’t waste your time trying to earn teeth.

    • Shardlotte

I disagree. There are a lot of things that are worth your while. Seeker Protection is amazing, especially on Mayday. The Flaming Stowed Riot Shield helps a ton. Starting with an extra skill point is also really helpful to get that edge early on. The ammo damage upgrades also work like a charm and make Incendiary ammo quite useful.

  • Jasco

Except WII U. The forgotten next “Gen” console.

  • Mz-zM

I was wondering… what happens if the account that has the season pass, gets deleted from a ps3 that already purchased the medic, tank and weapon spec upgrade in extinction ? ( I gave to my friend the season pass and I need my account back becoz my ps3 broke)
