Its no secret that Activision has Call of Duty reveals and announcements perfected. Very few AAA games can gather the amount of excitement and hype behind a new product launch. Fortunately for us, it’s pretty easy to predict when Call of Duty news is coming because of their marketing formula. Our only worry this year is how Destiny might effect that formula, but if history repeats itself, we’re expecting Activision to reveal the new Call of Duty from Sledgehammer Games really really soon…

How soon? well this is what happened last year:

April 24th: Tesco Direct leaks box art and name of Call of Duty Ghosts

April 26th: GameStop marketing leak says to display new posters on May 1st

April 28th: Second Tesco Direct leak gives details on new story and next-gen engine.

April 28th: Spanish retail leaks box art again along with all platforms confirmed.

April 29th: CallofDuty.com TEASER SITE goes live “The Ghosts are Real”

April 30th: Best Buy ad leak confirms release date

April 30th: GameStop leaks pre-order poster for Ghosts

May 1st: First Call of Duty Ghosts Live Action TEASER

May 21st: First Ghosts gameplay TRAILER at Xbox One event

For Black Ops 2:

April 23rd: BO2 Teaser site goes live

May 1st: First gameplay trailer aired during NBA playoffs

May 1st for the announcement seems like the best bet.

    • MichiganerE

Probably will be. BO2 reveal was May 1st and Ghosts Teaser was May 1st, but who knows.

      • CoDforever

Ghosts would have had the reveal trailer on may 1st also, but they couldnt because the footage was off xbox one (which was not revealed yet)

        • Mitch

They could have done that, because they never show button prompts in trailers. MS probably paid them to reveal the game at the XB1 reveal event.

        • Keshav Bhat

Nope, it was always planned for it to be revealed with Xbox One

    • Psychomaggot105

Last year may 1st was the first day to preorder it. It wouldn’t surprise me if that happens again.

    • JKB98

I hope we get an actual trailer and not that Masks live action trailer with an annotation saying “Wait till the 21st, because fuck you, fanbase” crap.

    • Jimmy Dean

They usually show it during the NBA playoffs

I hope there will be plenty of noses.
And that they won’t be as micro transaction noses.

    • Siftblade of Rivia

Lol next micro-DLC pack for Ghosts will be the nose pack, to get you hyped for MW4.

      • http://youtube.com/user/extremenameHD extreme_name

I hope they will give the option to choose nose hair

Ali-A like my comment! I know you’ll be here, no doubt you’re already making a video for this without thanking Charlie Intel for providing you with this information.

    • Bob Mit

Tea for Ali-A brcause of his hard “work”.

  • Sal

And here we go to another year of the CoD cycle, better brace yourselves.
That said I’m curious to what Sledgehammer is bringing to the table. I hope we get a balance on map size. If the majority of Ghosts’ maps were the size of Warhawk, the game wouldn’t get as much flak.

    • SoulTaker

Haha this always makes me laugh ! xD So true.

    • Bob Mit

      True.

    • BUTWHYMOM

and lets hope they balance the sniper-quickscoping bullshit.

      • Sal

Considering that quickscoping on this game is 90% luck based… I’d like to see something like that.

      • jordanxbrookes

I’d like to see Black Ops sniping to return, with the exception of the severe bounce and with the game to have better hit detection. Sniping in Black Ops meant you had to use it like a sniper. That’s how it should be, not catering to quickscoping 12 year olds.

        • Love-Hate relationship

Dude you know they have to cater to the quickscopers and all the other bullshit that only pro players want. It is how they make their money, as much as I would love to have CoD cater the casual players, It is not gonna happen and don’t get me wrong I love CoD but that is why CoD is slowly killing itself

          • TheShadowReaper

well then the pros should get more skill. if i cant do it then why a pro player cant? i was easily going 20-0 with the L96 in BO1, i’m sure a pro can handle just fine.

          • NuttyTheSquirrel

But you gotta admit. Black Ops was THE WORST when it came down to sniping. Never saw a game so bad xD.
Still my 2nd favorite CoD game tho.

          • TheShadowReaper

BO is my fav and downright the best COD to date along with COD4. (except for the “lag issues” which i never happened to run across cause i run an internet connection of today and not dial up like some tards that said they had the infamous “lag issues”) it has no flaws as a game. the sniping was as it should be, hard to do but satisfying when done right. Treyarch had some things right in this game instead of mindless qs all over the place.

          • jordanxbrookes

I mean I just don’t understand how you can go from an almost perfect sniping balance to just piss easy quickscoping. This is why Black Ops 2 IMO couldn’t top Black Ops. Black Ops 2 felt like an broken Infinity Ward game with connection coming from the Larson B Ice Shelf in Antarctica.

I was expecting to see this picture on the previous post or here

    • CoDforever

How many games can even keep you hooked for 3 months? Honestly, cod is so under received (if that makes any sense)

      • CGkillZ

MW3 actually I had fun with that game till that summer. Borderlands 2, mw2, bo1. That’s about it.

    • TuTKoKmoLLi

That’s the ugly truth… i still remember people saying BO2 is crap and than loved the game

      • Thinhtam

Yeeep, I’m defiantly one of those guys after getting bored of playing ghosts when reaching maxed prestige…

        • Fighter

I got bored of Ghosts after reaching 1st Prestige. That’s why I hope the next CoD brings the fun factor back to call of duty like COD4, WaW, MW2 and BO2 did.

      • http://zombielakemusic.moonfruit.com Zombielake Music

Well, in some ways it’s crap, lag issues, hit detection etc, but-unlike ghosts- it is fun, zombies and multiplayer, and that is why treyarch games are good!

      • ben wills

Well BO2 is horrible. Casual catering BS. Ghosts I’ve said from day 1 is good, and I’ve yet to change my mind.

        • Sgtsclark

Ghosts is best COD since modern warfare and mw2, there I said it. Ghosts is back to it’s roots and that’s why people hate it. It’s not that crackhead run and gun BS that treyarch puts out. My opinion, if you have a different one then that’s great too but that’s mine.

          • ben wills

I think BO1 and WaW are the best, but I love MW1 and MW2 (without its noobtube issues). Ghosts is a return to form of those 4 games, and thus it is good.

          • http://Youtube.com/itisreb Respect Reb

I love all IW games from MW and up… Treyarch is fine but not the same fun. I can not wait to see what Sledgehammer has coming!?!?

          • atomicblast360

Bullshit its the campiest most boring one they’ve made

        • m

If anything Ghosts caters more to casual players… support streaks anyone?

          • ben wills

That is one of my personal flaws with the game, but it’s better than a game designed around running around walls with and SMG and hip fire spraying people down people who never had the chance to see you.

          • kyle

You probably think ghosts is good because ghosts is noob friendly ex. Support streaks bullshit equipment etc

          • ben wills

Ghosts is far less noob friendly than BO2 is. I don’t like support streaks, but it’s a lot better than the alternative. BO1 and WaW are the best, they’re also the most skillbased

          • Fighter

Actually Ghosts has quick death times, support streaks, you can get anything gun, perk or whatever when you want if you get the cod points for it which are easy to get, AI streaks, maps that promote camping. So don’t say that BO2 is more noob friendly when it’s clearly not.

          • ben wills

In BO2 you can die without ever seeing your enemy

“you can get anything gun, perk or whatever when you want if you get the cod points for it which are easy to get”
–> Has nothing to do with whether a game is skill based or not.

Not all maps promote camping. Ghosts maps are larger, allowing you to tactically move around, and have VARYING SIGHT LINES. In BO2, YOU NEVER HAVE TO AIM. BO2 IS NOT SKILL BASED AT ALL.

          • Ben

Ghosts isn’t really skill based either IMO… the last CoD I can call skill based was the first Black Ops.

Don’t get me wrong, is’s not a problem, but the newer CoDs are just fun to play, nothing else.

          • ben wills

Oh for sure, I agree with that. I’d say Ghosts is a step above MW3 and BO2 for it, but no where near what BO1 or WaW or CoD 4 is.

          • m

BO2 is more skill based because it’s less random. It had mostly 3 lane maps so you can more easily predict where people would come from and it came down to gun skill. In Ghosts, there’s 20 lanes and you have to hope you get lucky guessing where people are coming from.

          • http://Youtube.com/itisreb Respect Reb

Quick death times mean more skill… the ability to move tactically and from cover to cover.

          • http://Youtube.com/itisreb Respect Reb

Ghosts is noob friendly? Hell have you looked at BO II. Overpowered LMG’s and shotguns. The MSMC and AN 94 need nerfed shitless. Infinite shock charge and stun effect. Target finder.

Ghosts IED… Can’t think of another.

          • CGkillZ

But I would rather have a game where people rush around not camp around a corner that plus ghosts spawns make it horrible. I like ghosts feel but it gets irritating quick. That’s why just as many people play b02 then ghosts.

        • Sal

I liked it but there was a lot of BS… especially the retarded hit detection. You either killed people instantly, or would get hitmarkers with the R870 at point-blank.

        • Batman

Ghosts is my favorite CoD. Bo1 being the second

      • 111AlaN111

I always LOVED BO2. It was my 1st COD, and it is amazing. It was really funny. I tried to do all the things that “Vanossgaming”(youtube channel) did.
        NOT SPAM’

Ghosts had better connection, the host migrations consumed less time. Ghosts really destroyed BO2’s faults.

BUT the game added some sh*t to replace BO2’s sh*t. Like IEDs and that.

In conclusion: Every COD has its own faults.

        • Sal

IEDs are what happens when a bouncing betty decides to fuck a claymore lol

          • 111AlaN111

IEDs should have a way to escape from them, just like bouncing betties or claymores. Both had their weak point, but the IED has no weakness, and that ruins the game.

          • fires

they weakened explosion, and you can just hop IEDs or prone under them.

          • 111AlaN111

If you prone you die, if you jump, you need only one shot to get killed.

The IED needs a weakness. For example:

            Bouncing Betty: Prone
            Claymore: Getting behind it.

          • Mattmilnes

They do.. It’s called SITREP. Standard on all my classes. Not only does it warn you of them.. It also gives away the position of campers.

          • CGkillZ

But its bad that you are forced to use that perk unless you love being blown up by an ied

          • 111AlaN111

I don’t want to loose 2 perk points just for that.

          • DanDustEmOff

Then you’re gonna have a bad time. BO2 had plenty of worse crap in it. Shock charge, betty/claymore, scavenger combo was way more OP than anything in Ghost. At least scavenger doesn’t resupply IED’s.

          • 111AlaN111

Shock charges and betty/claymores were great. I used the shock charges to have fun launching them in the middle of a battle. They were not OP.

You could just get prone to not get killed by a Betty, or you could get behing the claymore.

          • DanDustEmOff

Lol moans about IED’s but loves betties/claymores and shock charges….

Look mate I get that BO2 was your honeymoon with CoD, but as someone who has played every CoD to date it has to be said, BO2 was a horrible, laggy pile of shit with so many broken or OP features.

Sitrep, flack jacket/blastshield have always been the best way to counter explosives I would suggest you equip them or stop moaning about them. You could have nothing.

          • 111AlaN111

Well, you can cover from bouncing betties and claymores. They aren’t overpowered. IEDs are overpowered. Whatever you do you will be left with only 1% of your life, if not dead.

BO2 had the worse connection if you compare it to Ghosts, in that I’m ok, but the game wasn’t that OP.

          • DanDustEmOff

They were hella op when used together the only way you were getting away from a claymore once caught by the shock charge is to use tac mask, flack jacket or both. It also gives your position away making you an easy target should you survive, and to add insult to injury they also get more back with scavenger. That shit was stopped in BO, I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea to reverse their own decision when it was deemed op in MW2.

Thats not even including stuff like the target finder, linear symetrical maps that promote camping in team based games, awful matchmaking that puts skill above connection quality and decides it’s a good idea to match me to some guy on the other side of the planet evey time I play, broken cameras that build lag in to lan and local matches. I could go on all day about the faults with BO2 it’s easier for me to say that BO2 was the worst CoD to date that killed the franchise for me and a lot of people that played CoD, ran by an ignorant eSports obsessed community manager and a self confessed camper as the lead designer.

          • exeterman2

I don’t like blops 2 or ghosts. But the shock charges were balanced, effectively stunned you if caught but were easy to spot as they stood out and made noise. Same with claymores, they were easily spotted and avoidable once hit. However, IEDs blend in and are fucking unnoticeable to the eye, then when you do get caught it is near impossible to avoid.

          • DanDustEmOff

On their own they were but not when they were used with betties/claymores and scavenger. Personally I always ran engineer and emp’s to counter them, but you are kinda forced into that set up.

          • exeterman2

I rarely got caught out by that combo, they were always predictably placed so you could jump out the way.

          • DanDustEmOff

It was rife in ffa and although I rarely got caught out by them it still lost me matches to people using that set up.

          • exeterman2

It was everywhere in team modes as well.

          • 111AlaN111

All CODs have stuff like target finders, in Ghosts it is the tracker, or the termal sight.

You could still kill people while being shock-charged. Claymores had a blind spot, just as bouncng betties, so they weren’t OP.

If we use your logic, every COD has OP stuff.

          • DanDustEmOff

Every CoD does have OP stuff. BO2 just has a lot of OP stuff in it, the only game that had more OP stuff in it was MW2. MW2 however had great hit detection and netcode, BO2 doesn’t.

          • 111AlaN111

BO2 hadn’t very OP stuff. The only thing that was OP in my opinion was the target finder.

          • DanDustEmOff

The community at large disagrees with you.

          • 111AlaN111

            I just look at you.

          • DanDustEmOff

            You’re not making any sense.

          • 111AlaN111

You are the only one arguing.

          • DanDustEmOff

Lol you’re arguing with different people all over this thread. You’re like a one person campaign against the IED and defender of BO2.

          • 111AlaN111

I just say my opinion. I don’t say BO2 has no bad stuff, I even prefer Ghosts’s connection. But they did some bad stuff in some things, just as IEDs. And you have a whole arsenal of SVUs (called marksman rifles).

          • http://Youtube.com/itisreb Respect Reb

IED without the bigger blast perk: Jump or duck if on ceiling… The radius is a disc like saucer
IED with perk: Have to have blast shield and do the same

          • 111AlaN111

IEDs let you all dead. The final blow can be a grenade that just hit me.

IEDs have no way you can get out of it without finishing almost dying.

          • Sal

There are like six ways to get around an IED: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdYpKrLPMN4

          • Batman

IEDs are not op, just annoying

          • 111AlaN111

OK, let me get out my 11-kill Groundjammer or my 10-kill Night Owl.

If you jump above the IED and then one enemy throws a grenade at you, the impact will kill you.

Once more, IEDs should have a weak point.

          • DanDustEmOff

            They do, it’s called Sitrep.

          • 111AlaN111

There should be a weak point without having to use perks.

          • DanDustEmOff

Why should there? Because you say there should? There is an easy counter, if you choose not to use it then you only have yourself to blame.

          • 111AlaN111

There should be weak points for explosives that can be planted just there.

I think you are just a camper who loves to put IEDs, and then cries when you get blown.

          • DanDustEmOff

I don’t really care what you think, you have played 2 CoD games I have played all of them. I’m a veteran with a mile high achievement and top prestige in nearly every game with countless nukes, Moabs and Kem strikes buddy your just a noob.

          • 111AlaN111

Even if you played all games I could easily beat you. I prestiged on COD too, not a big deal, that just means you play COD for many time, not that you are good on it.

You could play all CODs but you could still be a noob. I could play one COD and become a better gamer than a supposed “veteran” like you.

Getting Moabs, and Kems mean anything. I could just go on camper mode and kill everyone who goes by and easily get a KEM. But I prefer to do the objective, and my K/D is still great.

          • DanDustEmOff

I dont think that is the case, Challenge accepted what system do you play on and what country do you live in?

          • 111AlaN111

            I won’t play with you.

          • DanDustEmOff

Not with me against me. It’s fine tho but actions speak louder than words.

          • 111AlaN111

I don’t want to waste my time more than just typing these sentence.

          • DanDustEmOff

          • DanDustEmOff

All the more reason to use Sitrep.

          • jordanxbrookes

Funny how you said you love Black Ops 2 and was complaining about having to use perks to counter I.E.D.s yet it was the same for Black Ops 2 when it came to C4, EMPs and Target Finders. The only counter to it was to use perks and people didn’t want to be forced to use those perks because of these annoying nuisances.

          • 111AlaN111

C4s aren’t OP. EMPs aren’t OP. The only OP thing was the Target Finder.

      • Sal

Yeah, I put around 500 hours into it, but during the last two months I pretty much only played Buried and Origins. MP was boring me. I only came back on the last two weeks to get diamond ARs and SMGs. And I still have to get diamond LMGs…

        • Confirminator

500 hours!!!!? There’s a real world outside of video games. Read a history book instead and go fishing with some friends.

          • jordanxbrookes

          • TheShadowReaper

and what are you here for? to be a life adviser? gtfo if you dont like it, this is what gaming’s all about.

          • Confirminator

and then you become an adult, find a wife, and raise a family. Not mere advice… but an honorable path. Games should never consume your life. No ill intended lad.

          • TheShadowReaper

you can find a wife and have kids yet still give 500+ hours on a game. its not like gaming consumes your life, decisions do though. and if one’s decision is to do something and nothing else its the decision that makes it so. now if someone wants to spend an entire life into a hobby, lets say basketball, reading books, cycling or gaming (which isnt possible get real you nerd) its his decision and not the media he achieves that decision. get it? you just got “schooled” in your own attempt to school others. now go out there and find a wife and have kids, i will do that too but i little later, there is some gaming to be done first…

          • Confirminator

Map size being too small is one of the biggest issues in MW3 and BO2. Stonehaven and Whiteout are near perfect maps (excluding spawn issues, which is the game, not the maps, fault).

      • thechocolatechair

Stonehaven is a near perfect map?

Are you a joker or what? Clearly Xbox 360’s can’t cope with the size of that map.. have you seen what happens when you scan the map when scoped through a sight? The frame rate stutters like a bastard.

As well as that, I’d say 40% of the map are dead spots where nobody ever, ever goes due to the campy nature of it and dreadful spawns.. and speaking of spawns.. when you spawn in the castle and there’s a Sniper tucked at the top of the stairs just waiting for you to appear out of thin air..

Yep, Ghosts is fucking broken but everybody knows that.. it’s just that Stonehaven, IMHO, happens to be one of the most broken maps I’ve ever played.

        • jordanxbrookes

“Xbox 360’s can’t cope with the size of that map”. Stonehaven compared to other large maps isn’t the biggest. Look at Fuel from MW2. Fuel is the biggest map in Call of Duty not Stonehaven.

          • Patrick

but mw2 had worse graphics and ghosts pushed the xbox360’s limit for a 6v6 multiplayer game with a GIANT map like stonehaven. Look at the water in stonehaven, looks amazing, almost as good as skyrims and its all being rendered while your walking through the map.

          • jordanxbrookes

At the time, MW2 graphics weren’t considered bad, and I know times have changed, which is why I left my 360 for Xbox One. But Stonehaven is most certainly not the biggest map in Call of Duty.

          • NuttyTheSquirrel

MW2 were not bad. It was one of the best looking games.

          • NuttyTheSquirrel

“Look at the water in Stonehaven, looks amazing, almost as good as Skyrims…”

I never really looked at Stonehaven’s water, so I don’t really know if that is just you being sarcastic or not. But Skyrim’s water is one of the worst looking water I’ve ever seen.

          • MichiganerE

I think CoD 1, 2 and 3 had bigger maps than Fuel.

          • jordanxbrookes

Probably, but this info comes from the Call of Duty Wikia. And lets face it, you can’t deny Wikipedia or it’s related sites.

          • Fighter

Yeah but even then Fuel still felt fast paced when Stonehaven is just dull and slow to play on with people sniping 24/7 or camping in bushes with their ARs

          • NuttyTheSquirrel

MW2 had big maps, but the thing is that those “big” maps had many buildings in between, excluding Fuel, Derail, Wasteland and Underpass. Afghan, Invasion, Quarry, Rundown, Storm, Sub Base. Those were “big maps” but they had places where you could “hide”. If Afghan was a Ghost map, it wouldn’t have that crashed plane on the map, and eventhough it’s just one model, it would (completely) change the way the map played out.

      • Sal

Erm, Stonehaven is too big, Warhawk is an example of an perfectly sized map. Not huge, not microscopic.

        • ben wills

Warhawk is a good size and I’d like to see it represented in all CoD’s. Despite maps like Stonehaven being my own personal preference (9v9 would be nice though, I guess), I believe maps like Warhawk and Standoff are the future of CoD. They’re sort of small (moreso Standoff, Warhawk’s slightly bigger), but they have a variety of sightlines for all playstyles. I’d be okay if CoD went like that in the future, but no more games with only Firing Range or Nuketown in them. I loved Firing Range as a change of pace, but the second every single map in MW3 and BO2 was the same BS (just even more tight), I had a major problem.

      • Batman

I hated those small maps too.
        Stonehaven and whiteout ftw!!!

    • Dr. Steiner

You have a point. I never said I didn’t like BO2 though lol when everyone else did. I hate how everyone does that bullshit. Like, make your own opinion! I don’t care what COD anyone thinks is the best, I love both BO’s and I’m not ashamed. That’s why I don’t call someone’s opinion “shit” if they say they like Ghosts or MW3. I may think it is shit, but they may love it, and that is perfectly fine. Damn, I feel like a businessman or some shit lol.

    • sahzoom

The only problem is the the february tile was in december for ghosts….but sadly, very accurate for all other games

    • Get rekt skrub

      False: I personally love ghosts.

    • TheShadowReaper

with one exception, Ghosts. it was good in trailers in the may and november period but has been shit from the january and beyond. this cycle doesnt work anymore pal.

      • Sal

Prove it. All you do is get butthurt that people like Ghosts. How dare they!

        • TheShadowReaper

the terrible review scores (although i dont like playing dirty, they count), the negative community feedback on YT and pretty much any website online, the really low numbers of people online. i believe these 3 are more than enough to prove it, but i guess you’ll find some ridiculous nonsense of a reason to counter so…i dont know why we are having this convo right now.

          • Sal

“Terrible” I have not seen it receiving less than 6 points. The YT community obviously would not like a game without Teather, and you can’t apply the PC port to everything. Counting all platforms, there are over 600k people online most of the time.

          • TheShadowReaper

compared to previous installments which received no less than 8 out of 10, 6 is pretty weak to say the least imo. and 600k is not as much as previous installments too and as you said this number is most of the times. probably at rush hours peak etc. 600k isnt that much for a COD title as far as i’m concerned.

          • Sal

For this time of the year, it’s the normal average.

          • Batman

There is less players online cuz there are 6 plattaforms now

    • Confirminator

The cycle repeats because, after Black Ops 1, COD has been getting worse every year

  • jordanxbrookes

I’ve never been more excited for a Call of Duty game than I am right now for Sledgehammer’s. It feels like Christmas is coming up and I’m that kid who literally can’t wait for Christmas day. And Call of Duty 2014 is….

    • ElseAndrew

Christmas day is one of mt favourite days as a COD fan, Christmas noobs make everything fun.

  • Bob Mit

I hope the maps will be fun and the game play is fast.

    • http://zombielakemusic.moonfruit.com Zombielake Music

So, not call of battlefield: ghosts size maps?

      • jordanxbrookes

Fuel from MW2 is the biggest map in Call of Duty history, so comparing that to Stonehaven, Stonehaven is small.

    • Sal

I’d like more fast gameplay that rewards not being a complete moron.

  • Jasco

Best time to be a fan of the cod series. right now :)

  • MichiganerE

I have this idea for the Hardened Edition of the game (we all know there will be one). If this years CoD game turns out to be MW4 (most likely will be), what if for the Hardened Edition, we got CoD 4, MW2, and MW3 all remastered for Xbox One, PS4, and PC as a way to have all four on Next-Gen (now Current-Gen)? What do you guys think of that idea?

    • Josh

This game is being made by SHG and the other modern warfare games are developed by IW apart from MW3 which was part developed by SHG. Honestly there is no reason to remaster them – too much effort for little return as the games a quite old now.

      • MichiganerE

Doesn’t matter if IW developed CoD 4 and MW2, Activision owns the series. So they can get any studio that they own to develop a CoD game. Even a MW title.

    • Xecho

Bad idea because everyone knows it won’t happen. Plus I really think all Old Gen games should stay old gen.

  • PrimeEchoes

I feel that Call of Duty has the most ungrateful and disrespectful fanbase I’ve ever seen. People really have no idea how hard it actually is to pump out a triple-A game. When people complain about “how horrible” the most recent Call of Duty is, every year, (usually around the time that the DLC starts coming out) it makes me feel kind of ashamed to be part of the Call of Duty fanbase. I don’t think any other franchise has a fanbase that does this to them at the scale that I’ve seen recently, especially with Ghosts. I really hope it doesn’t happen with Sledgehammer’s Call of Duty game coming out this year, but it more than likely will.

    • Josh

I totally agree, they just don’t understand how much work is put into these games and for people to just turn around and say “that’s rubbish” is quite disrespectful. The majority of these people couldn’t even do the most basic of programming but act as if they know everything and how to make a good COD.

    • jordanxbrookes

I’m a fan of Call of Duty and I will always play their games. I understand where you’re coming from since I’m quite annoyed with how a lot of the players just bash on the latest title. And trust me it is hard to pump AAA titles every year, I’m studying Games Development so I know how hard it is.

      • Choppabro2psn

Come on, lets call a spade a spade. No matter the effort, time or devotion that was spent on ghosts (yes ghosts specifically), simply put, it is not a good game. The community is to blame partially, while infinty ward is the other half. We’ve all played, so an explanation as to WHY ghosts is bad is truly not necessary. And since I’ve been playing since cod 4, I’m not ungrateful to the company at all. Defending it is no longer a thing I can do for the game. It’s awful. And it’s as simple as that.

        • jordanxbrookes

It may not be a good game to you, but to me it is. We both have opposite opinions, and you know what, that’s ok :)

          • Choppabro2psn

Are you a fan or a fan boy? Because a fan can see the differences and bad things wrong with the game while a fanboy, much like tmartn and alia will only endorse and admire the game, while they simultaneously know that it has flaws.

    • http://zombielakemusic.moonfruit.com Zombielake Music

I agree with what you said about how hard it is to make a AAA game but when it comes to the cod community you obviously don’t know what your talking about, CoD 4 was a AAA title and it was perfect, smooth gameplay with the most replay value of any cod, but ever since bo1 cod has drastically dropped in quality, laggy games that are never fixed, shit player:map size ratio, stale gameplay, the list goes on, so to say we are ungrateful is wrong (in some aspects), all we want is for one of the developers to listen to the community and not patch things like the riot shield instead of fixing hacking issues.

Thank you for listening, I hope you have a good day.

      • PrimeEchoes

I am having a good day, thank you. You are right about the map size and the overall staleness. However, that is not truly the fault of the developer. It is the community: the majority, specifically. When developer studios look for ways to improve the game, they see what can be fixed by looking at what the majority of the players want. However, unfortunately, the majority portion of the Call of Duty community does not like change, as evidently seen with Ghosts. That is why the gameplay and overall structure remains stale.

The same thing goes with the map size. The majority of the community hates large maps, evidently seen in almost every Call of Duty game, with the larger maps often being the least popular. Because of this, IW/Treyarch tend to produce smaller and tighter maps.

The weapon patching is also a really hard thing, because everyone will complain about a weapon when it gets popular, which I have observed with past games (Most notably Black Ops). The fact that people complain so much about the weapons really reduces the time that the studio could be using to optimize the game and/or anti-cheat.

I agree with the lagginess, though. A big studio with a large AAA game should not have weak servers holding their game up. It just isn’t logical.

        • http://zombielakemusic.moonfruit.com Zombielake Music

I agree with most (if not, all) of your points bar the change part in the first paragraph, we want change but we don’t want change, ghosts style, we want change but it to stay within what makes Call of Duty, Call of Duty, for example, make small maps that are fair and fast!

    • thebulky1cometh

If Ghosts started giving you “Disc Read Errors” on the PS4 DIGITAL UPGRADE, you spent hours on the phone with Sony to no avail, then bought a brand new PS4 disc, still received the same errors, wiped your PS4 6 times, sent in for a new PS4, only to have those same disc read errors come up again, Sony said they’re out of ideas on what to do at this point, attempted to call Activision only to find out there is no support phone number, attempted to “chat” to Activision only to find that their support on their website was down for OVER A MONTH…you’d probably sell back Ghosts and buy BF4 like I did.

Completely true story, and I’ve been a loyal COD guy since MW2.

    • Siftblade of Rivia

Yeah, but I’m a consumer. If you go to a restaurant and your food is crap, will you go there again because you understand how hard it is for them to prepare a dish in half an hour? No. Do you recommend it to your friends or give it positive reviews? No. If it’s crap, I’m not going to pretend like it’s good. I loved BO2, I never complained about it. I’m not that guy who follows the “COD cycle of hate” or whatever Sal posted. If I like the game, I’ll write good things about it. If I don’t like it, I can write bad things about it. Simple as that. Same with SledgeHammer’s game. I’m hoping for the best, but we’ll see. I appreciate the effort that they put into a game, but if a games not good in your opinion, why would you have to write positive things about it?

    • JKB98

I disagree. The amount of time and/or effort it takes to create a game should not define the amount of respect us; the community, give to developers. Treyarch listens to their community, and their games are always better IMO. Take Tranzit for example, the majority of fanbase didn’t particularly like the way Zombies was played in Tranzit. Treyarch then changed the way zombies was played back to the original way in DLC.

Ultimately it lead to BO2 generally getting really good feedback from the community.

And then there’s Infinity Ward, whose games have gotten worse every year. They pump out OP and unbalanced game mechanics, and then they become one of the (if not) the best selling game every 2 year cycle.

Players spend a good amount of money on the game only for it to turn out poorly due to campers (in which CoD Ghosts was very friendly) I.E.Ds, and countless other factors.

My point is, no matter how much hours of effort a game has put into it, if it’s shit it’s shit and it will receive shit reviews and feedback.

      • jordanxbrookes

You gave Zombies as an example that Treyarch listens to the community. But look at Ghosts DLC. People complained that the maps are ‘too big’. So IW made maps in their DLC that were a more small-medium size.

        • Dr. Salim

The only problem is that you have to spend $ for those
and the one you get for free is the worst map in the game.

          • jordanxbrookes

You had to pay money for the new map packs to allow you get the new Zombie maps and the map that was free for Black Ops 2 was Nuketown 2025 which was horrible for spawning. This means that the point you were trying to make, is unfortunately invalid.

          • JKB98

Yeah, but 6-man Demo on Nuketown 2025 though..

        • Siftblade of Rivia

But Zombies actually does listen to the community. 90% of the features that are here in Zombies now are because the community wanted them. Ghosts now does have smaller maps. The free DLC trial starts today. I’ll play the new smaller maps and see if it makes a difference.

      • PrimeEchoes

IW does listen to the community a lot, which is really evident due to the incredible amount of patches that have come out. It’s just that is absolutely impossible for IW to please every single person in the fanbase, so they appeal to the majority. This is really evident in map design, as there is one side that wants large maps, and one side that wants really small maps. The reason why small maps get made is because the side that wants small maps is simply bigger. In terms of how people play, IW cannot control that at all, because people will always play how they feel most comfortable.

  • Dr. Salim

How the hell does stuff get “Leaked”. Can you not keep a secret.

    • Mitch

Because hundreds of people are invoved in the project, and only one needs to fuck up (on purpose).

      • jordanxbrookes

What you say is true, but how can one do it on purpose and simply ‘fuck up’ at the same time? Wouldn’t it be a ‘fuck up’ it were leaked accidently rather than purposely?

      • kyr95

I really cant tell whether its a fake or not :/

    • jordanxbrookes

Even though it would be cool for Call of Duty 2014’s Box Art Cover, to me I doubt it is. It’s a possibility, but for some reason I doubt it. Btw do you mind if I use this image you managed to snapshot in one of my videos? I’ll give you full credit for catching the image :)

      • kyr95

Man of course i wouldnt mind, but as i said someone else uploaded it and then deleted the comment, dont know why. I just managed to copy the url :P. You have permission from me of course :) what is your channel by the way? I ‘d love to take a look :)

          • jordanxbrookes

Thanks, and I do hope this is the box art cover :) EDIT: Now that I’ve looked into it a bit more, is it me, or does this look like a character from Battlefield? It has that Battlefield look to it for some reason.

          • BSOG

At first glance, Delta Force had popped into my head. It could be Frost if it is a direct sequel to MW3, however, “MW4” might also act as a “sub-plot” of sorts, meaning you might be able to “fill in the gaps” from the original Modern Warfare trilogy. However, this may just be a completely different story compared to the original Modern Warfare trilogy.

          • jordanxbrookes

It will either be a branch to the the Modern Warfare series, or it will be in the modern time setting/possibly near-future with a brand new story. While I would love to have another Modern Warfare game, at the same time, I’d like a new game with new characters, story etc. If SHGames goes with the latter then I hope it doesn’t end up like Ghosts.

          • kyr95

I might have noticed something but im not sure. You cant really tell by this photo but the background kind of looks like the background of the image of the “Sgt.Foley” look-alike that was leaked :/

    • jordanxbrookes

But here’s the thing, if Price is dead, then surely wouldn’t this mean that it would be a game in the near-future/future time setting? Because that image that was shown at G.D.C. sure looked to be in the modern era. Unless he somehow was killed not long after the events of MW3? I’d like to believe this since I’m a huge supporter of the S.A.S. both in reality and in-game. Still, very interesting. EDIT: I’ve deciphered the morse code in the description of this video: IT’S FAKE GUYS!!

      • MichiganerE

Of course it’s fake, the music at the end gave it away.

        • jordanxbrookes

Very true, but I had to make sure.

      • Dr. Salim

The code says you’re and idiot if you believe this shit

        • jordanxbrookes

Well done, you understood that that was Morse code. Which again brings me to the easy point, it’s fake. I didn’t realise this until actually taking the video to YouTube and looked in the description.

I literally had a friend (a vehemet CoD hater) that Ghosts was undoubtetly the worst CoD. After 1 week ._. The fanbase really needs to mature the hell up, and people might give CoD a liiitle more respect. But then again, it’s inevitable that any mega-popular game will be flooded with dbags and 8 year olds. Give GTA 5 a year or 2

  • Rorke File

  • This the 90’s?

sledge we want to have dedicated servers so we can have 128 tick again! and give the console community 64tick!. seriously 20 (maybe 30) tick rate?!?! no wonder why people moan about lag comp and hit detection.. arnt we meant to be pushing the boundarys of gaming/gaming experience and not the boundarys on how much a company can milk a franchise? it doesnt cost if hardly developers a penny for clans to rent out there own servers. poor competitive console users spend hundreds on headsets and low imput monitors to put them selfs at an edge on there competitive gaming but its totally pointless if there bullets are going though their enemys.

  • Batman

The announcement will be next tuesday

  • Run N Gunning Camper

Sledgehammer better not forget to support the Camping Community. They should bring back the plantable Riot Shield, Guardian, IED and the Shock Charges. I also want to see the Target Finder and MW3’s Portable Radar and Scavenger Should replenish Lethals and Tacticals similar to BO2.

    Make it happen SHG!

    • Ed

what are you. a cat person? don’t forget the guard dog. that’s a campers tool mixed in with the martyrdom death streak.

      • Run N Gunning Camper

They should support the camping community. Not every one likes to run and gun and campers have as much right to enjoy the game as much as the run and gunners.

I hope SHG makes Ready Up cost a lot and increase the weapon up penalty time when players are running. That should nerf those run and gunners so that only the skilled ones will be able to do it successfully.

MW2 style maps with Black Ops sniping with less bounce?

  • flaeasd

mw4 pls, cod is cod, mw2 mw4 style = u_u players will return to this, please come back the sniper quick scope mw2 and mw3 style

    • Run N Gunning Camper

NO! It should be like Ghosts. Slow paced, campy and games are won by running down the game clock. Tactical Waiting FTW!

    • thebulky1cometh

I still think original Blops was the best “pace.” Mw3 and blops2 were just insane with the smaller maps and chaotic spawns.

Quick scope is annoying- but that debate seems to be split 50/50.

Just nerf the snipers for the love of god… Black ops 2 free for all has been destroyed becouse of them

  • thebulky1cometh

I don’t know why, since I hated Blops 2 and wasn’t crazy about Ghosts, but I’m eager to hear SOMETHING about the next COD. Does that make me an addict?

  • Joe

I really hope it is MW4. Hopefully it is like CoD4 and MW2 again, with the balancing that is present in Ghosts. The cheap perks, OP killstreaks, and deathstreaks were the only real problem with MW2, in my opinion.
