We had the opportunity to attend E3 and visit Activision’s booth to check Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. In a closed door area, we got to see three missions of Advanced Warfare. The first was the one shown at Xbox E3’s conference, Induction. You can watch the video for that here.

BioLab –
The second one shown to us was a mission called Biolab where an actual Sledgehammer Games developer was playing on a Xbox One console. This mission revolves around the stealth aspect, and for the first time they showed the invisibility ability in action. You use the invisibility to pass by a big portion of the area to remain undetected from the drones and enemies. There are times where you have to melee enemies. There’s one point where you go on cloak, and must hide as giant robots walk by you. Once you get through the enemies, you meet up with two new squad mates, and then repel down a cliffside to investigate a chemical outbreak. The HUD itself shows a data file about what chemicals are found and what you have to do. This section was VERY similar to CoD 4’s mission “All Ghillied Up:.

T2

Once you reach the chemical lab, you have to take out enemies with a silenced rifle you are equipped with. You must then destroy all the items there and escape – and that’s where the action comes in this mission. You must fight through enemies in order to escape, steal an enemy vehicle and use it to get to your own friendly chopper. The vehicle you steel is quite impressive. It has many cannons, gunners, and you are at the control. You have to take down helicopters, enemy forces, and even enemy tanks as they attempt to stop you. That’s where this mission ends.

Collapse –
This was a very exciting and action packed mission. It takes place in San Francisco; some of the gameplay is in the Advanced Warfare Reveal Trailer. The mission starts you off in a middle of a car chase, chasing down enemies before the hit the Golden Gate Bridge. But, you reach the bridge and your vehicle is demolished, flipped upside down. You and Gideon get out and start running on feet to stop the enemy. Exo-suit allows for a double jump, and boost features that lets you go to locations quicker and easier. The game brings new level of verticality as so many more higher areas are reachable. You engage in a battle with hostiles, and use laser guns as well as assault rifles to take them down. Similar to Induction, your player rips off a car door for cover.

v5

At one point, you are to approach a vehicle and open the back doors to it. As you’re about to open the door, a drone carrier explodes out and sends many into the sky. The drones attach themselves into the sides of the bridge and explode, ripping the structure of the bridge apart. The next thing that happens, which was shown a little on the trailer, is that the bridge gives way, and collapses. Everything goes flying down start to death in the water. You go sliding down till you grab onto something last second; a police officer slides by you and the officer grasps your hand. As you’re climbing back up, one of your soldiers next to you gets hit by a bus and goes straight down. Gideon comes running (or, boost jumping) to you and the mission demo ended for us…

One of the things we wanted to note is that this Call of Duty has one of the best sound engines we’ve ever heard before. It was absolutely fantastic. Graphics, too, looked dramatically improved over Ghosts.

Stay tuned for the latest Call of Duty news!

  • This campaign looks very promising! No underwater levels yet…Thank God!

    • Mitch

      yet

      • Don’t do this to me…

        • Meh, I actually liked the underwater mission in Ghosts. Gave me that ‘All Ghillied Up’ feel, but than a bit more wet xD

          • How dare you conpare All Ghillied Up to an Underwater mission! 😉

          • TheShadowReaper

dude we all love All Ghillied Up but some of the underwater missions are pretty sweet. even those in Ghosts.

          • My favorite mission that involved being underwater was the one where you destroy the oil rig in MW2

          • TheShadowReaper

yeah that was sweet. i like this mission too. one of my personal favorites is last mission on MW3. where you at last kill that sonovabitch Makarov. great conclusion to the MW series and great mission.

          • kyr95

Watching Price lighting his ciggarate for the last time in the series, was heartbreaking

          • TheShadowReaper

yep. i miss that old guy. he has been in the series since COD2.

          • kyr95

One can hope to see him again :/

          • TheShadowReaper

            yeah…

          • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

That’s not the same price lol more like his dad.

          • TheShadowReaper

he actually is. he is very young in COD2 but its him. and by young i mean not even in his 20s.

          • jordanxbrookes

It’s not, it says he was KIA and died on October 27th 1944, also how can he be younger than 20 and have that big mustache? If this was the Price from the Modern Warfare series, and you say he was very young, let’s say 18 at the very least, he is still alive, and MW3 ended in 2017, so he would be 91 years old, and he does not look like 91, no where near as close.

          • TheShadowReaper

well ok ok, facts accepted. but still…

its him. they just decided to include him and give him a different age than the original. or as @sillibk:disqus said, maybe its his son? who knows. but i know that its him. they look the same, they act the same, they talk the same…yeah.

          • jordanxbrookes

They LOOK the same, but they are NOT the same, imagine a Modern Warfare spin-off that takes place in the Cold War and it’s Price and Price and they’re father and son o.O Call it, Call of Duty: Cold Warfare 😀

          • TheShadowReaper

what makes it believable imo is that both the MW series and COD2 are made by the same team. thats more than enough evidence for me. its as @sillibk:disqus said. they re-introduced the character since they werent done with him.

          • jordanxbrookes

I know, I was just stating the facts, did you know I love Call of Duty? 😀

          • TheShadowReaper

pfff…you made me giggle like a little girl brookes… ^^

          • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

It’s more of introducing a character again. Imagine Soap coming back in AW.

          • TheShadowReaper

            pretty much yeah.

          • MichiganerE

Nope, IW confirmed Modern Warfare’s Price is the grandson of the Price in CoD 1 & 2. CoD 1, 2 and the MW games all take place in the same universe. Just like how WaW, BO1, and BO2 all take place in the same universe.

          • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

That makes him at least 80 years old lol. MW3 is in 2016.

          • TheShadowReaper

see my other comment too many to respond. i actually agree with you once…bloody hell yeah? i know…

          • It’s not him… Maybe his grandfather or even dad… Or not relative at all…

          • MichiganerE

Nope, the Price family has been around since CoD 1. Ghosts is the first IW to not a have Price in it.

          • iTYPE 2 ANNOY U

nobody wants to hear about how wet you were

          • I’m starting to think you don’t understand the pun. But considering your name on this site, I won’t blame you, you can’t help you were born this way 😉

          • iTYPE 2 ANNOY U

i was joking with you…why are you so uptight?

          • sweg

I just liked how the fish moved out of your way

          • Hehe, the overhyped fish AI, indeed. That had so much impact on the gameplay *sarcasm* xD

    • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

Schofield stated that there will be times where you’re underwater.

      • My least favorite missions.

        • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

I bet you won’t spend very much time underwater.

        • RdJokr

          Mind if I ask why?

          • I never found them entertaining. They never made me feel immersed

          • Sniper

            Immersed- underwater- geddit geddit lol

          • RdJokr

You could try dunking your head into a bucket of water. I’m sure you’ll feel immersed immediately.

        • Guest

WHY do you hate them so fucking much?

    • Kurama The Nine-Tailed Fox

      Exo Suit can’t work underwater.

    • Rorke File

      Only the mp left

      • Choppabro2psn

        And coop

    • Plot twist: The first mission takes place underwater

      • You’re such a troll. Haha

        • MichiganerE

Plot twist: The entire game take place underwater.

          • Plot twist: Theres no game, all you get is water

          • MichiganerE

Alex Hill would flip shit, and it would be hilarious.

          • He would love it,im sure of it

    • tatergotskills

      dont forget space levels

      • Poop

        Omg not those

  • HenryDF

Looks like this is going to be a very interesting campaign. MW3 was a bit meh, BO2 was great in my opinion, and Ghosts just felt like the same old stuff with nothing special. Hopefully this can be good.

    • Rorke File

MW3 the end was really good made but why Sandman, Truck have to die

      • kyr95

Soaps death scene was very good executed too, i really didnt expect it- i was like well the mission will propably end extracting him since hes a badass and always lives :/ and the music was very good.

    • TheShadowReaper

MW3 has one of the best campaigns…what are you talking about? dat music too!

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFb-KOMdij4

it just summed up the MW series so well i was close to crying…props to IW, they at least got the campaign right in MW3.

      • jordanxbrookes

MW3 was my last campaign that I felt so much emotion. And the OST is one of the best, the Modern Warfare trilogy is truly an amazing story.

        • TheShadowReaper

          yeah, my thoughts exactly.

          • jordanxbrookes

I hope Infinity Ward release a Modern Warfare Collection, if 343 can do it for Halo with The Master Chief Collection, why not Infinity Ward doing the same for the Modern Warfare trilogy. Btw can’t wait for MC Collection and Halo 5: Guardians 😀

          • TheShadowReaper

yeah, i hope they release a collection of the MW and BO series for you guys on the next gen. i can run all of my COD games on any PC i want but you, you need that collection. it needs to happen and at a reasonable price along with all dlc.

          • Wiz

I hope down the road, they make mw4 (after ghosts series).

      • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

SH worked on MW3’s campaign too.

        • TheShadowReaper

yes they did. props to them too but lets see their own work with AW. i want to congratulate them for something that they themselves created. MW3 was a sequel of a well established series, AW is not. thats the game changer here.

      • iTYPE 2 ANNOY U

that woulda been a REALLY good multiplayer menu song…

      • Long live Brian Tyler! His work is amazing. You should check out the Score for Need for Speed The Run, those tracks are also pretty damn good.

        • TheShadowReaper

i own NFS The Run. the game sucks ass but yeah the soundtrack is good.

  • Baruck obuma

Ive never been so exited in my life!

  • PHAT PETE

i’m on the one that thinks its going to far away from the core of what made call of duty what it was, i was really hoping for ww1 / ww2. With the new power of the xbone / ps4 it would look amazing.

    • Bigi345

WWII? wait for Treyarch that’s their thing. WWI? Why do people like WWI? Seriously, the only rifles at that time were Bolt Action Battle rifles. I don’t see the excitement appeal of WWI tbh but hey that’s just me

      • PHAT PETE

was more than just rifles, there is massive part of history with amazing stories…

there is loads of different types of weapons on a list here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_infantry_weapons_of_World_War_I

        • If they do WW1, there would be no place for run and gunning, or urban combat. Everything would be trench warfare, sitzkrieg and bolt action rifles and stationary only machine guns.

There isn’t really a place for a Singleplayer story, since there weren’t very interesting plots that featured the fighting.

WW2 however, has enough paths that haven’t been explored in games.

I too fear that they tend to go away a bit too far from the core gameplay that we are used to, but: when we see CoD nowadays, it’s worlds apart from the first CoD and it’s expansion pack United Offensive. And we survived that too, at least, I did and with me a few others that also played the first CoD when they were young.

Adapting and going with the flow is much more comfortable, and gives you much more hours of fun, just a little suggestion. And btw, it is as it is.

          • Grenada!

The older CoD games like CoD1, CoD2 and CoD4 are the best.

          • Sure, CoD United Offensive was indeed very awesome, Base Assault with 32v32 on Foy. Riding around in a jeep with a tank on your six, trying to get to the enemy spawn… Good old times 🙂

        • Bigi345

the rifles, are bolt action. For me at least i don’t see the fun in that

      • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

WWII is boring and has been around for 5 CoD games. It’s time for a change, and that’s what this game brings.

      • Grenada!

Bolt Action Rifles are the most fun weapons to use. They require skill also since you can’t just hold down the trigger button and spray, hoping for the best. WW2 guns are more interesting to use as well, they have some history to them and they are iconic.

      • Ivan Wu is dumb for that

No iw did ww2 first u have no idea what youre saying 10 yearold.

        • Xecho

People these days forgot IVV started it all vvith VVVV2. I remember people being sick and tired of it by the time [email protected] came by.

        • Bigi345

are you serious? I said it’s Treyarch’s thing not who did it first. I hope you’re trolling bro i really do

      • TheShadowReaper

thats me talking. fully agreed. where is the excitement in bolt actions and these bananas hand grenades? thats all they got. boring…

  • Eberhardt Korf

Hopefully this gameplay gets releases to the public later.

    • It will, there is no reason why they wouldn’t.

  • Josh

The BioLab mission was in the reveal trailer.

    • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

Same black dude in the Induction trailer.

      • jordanxbrookes

        Sgt. Cormack is his name.

        • Aymen Skiken

          then…who’s gideon o_o

          • jordanxbrookes

            This guy:

          • Gamer

No, thats the character you play as. Trust me.

          • Xecho

            No it fucking ain’t.

          • MichiganerE

No it’s not, Mitchell is American. Gideon, the man in the picture, seems to have an accent.

          • jordanxbrookes

He’s British, and about bloody damn time we have a Brit back in the fight.

          • MichiganerE

Really? I thought he sounded Scottish.

          • Rade

            Its scottish

          • MichiganerE

            Knew it.

          • UNSKIALz

Scotland is in Britain – So “British” is correct. British =/= English.

          • jordanxbrookes

            It’s not, that’s Gideon.

          • Jurij

That is gideon… you can see mitchell in the backstory trailer in the part with the mechanical fly

          • Aymen Skiken

WHAT?! i thought his name’s mitchel… is it gideon mitchel ?

          • joeyiscoolz

the main character is jack mitchell

          • Aymen Skiken

so that guy is his brother/twin

          • NuttyTheSquirrel

Stupid Tmartn called him Hesh xD…

        • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

          Definitely Sgt. Cormack.

        • iTYPE 2 ANNOY U

          i prefer “same black dude”

    • jgg

this mission is set in the Balkan mountains.

  • Very cool. But I do have some questions with the campaign and story so far.
You start of as USMC soldier. Than you get recruited into Atlas Corporation, working for Jonathan Irons, who is supposed to be the main antagonist in AW. So how does that work? Are we fighting as the bad guy during this game?

Or is Advanced Warfare going to be a new trilogy, where we find out in the last couple of missions of AW1 that we’re doing the wrong stuff, and we turn against Atlas during the second game/sequel?

Anyone who knows more about this?

    • kyr95

I imagine that for the half or maybe the 3/4 of the game, you work for Atlas, and as time passes you start to judge the motives of the company, and in the last missions, when Irons declares war against the US, you fight against him. Shg said that theyve made an ending that finishes the story but leaves a plausible future game in the same universe, but they stated that they havent even considered of a sequel or trilogy.

      • jordanxbrookes

They said that they wanted to leave the campaign open in case they decide to make a sequel, similar to Call of Duty 4, where MW2 started 5 years after the events of Modern Warfare.

      • Thank you 🙂

  • The more photos i see of this game, the better it looks! 🙂

  • Perfect, I loved the All Ghillied Up mission from CoD4.
    This is gonna be awesome!

  • Grenada!

“This section was VERY similar to CoD 4′s mission “All Ghillied Up” I heard that same quote when people were talking about MW3, Ghosts and MW2. God they better not be using missions from other games with their own twist in it. Come up with your own ideas SHG, we’re counting on you.

    • hi

COD 4 was one of the best COD’s in history that’s why its been used so many times..

      • Aymen Skiken

it’s so popular that it’s multiplayer theme has been in a french show

    • James K

It’s like a trademark sentence in Charlie Intel.

    • Keshav Bhat

“Come up with your own ideas SHG” – have you seen the Induction mission video? Does that look anything like previous games? People these days…

  • Viper TD

Finally, some people who agree with me that this is going to be a good game. There are so many haters on youtube.

    • Most people here are better educated than the average YouTube comment placer xD

  • jordanxbrookes

Wish the public could see it rather than have it behind closed doors 🙁 Then again, the hype train will carry on rolling.

    • kyr95

Well think it this way, the Golden Gate Bridge level, is one of the trademark leves of the game, would you spoil it to the public, before the release?

      • jordanxbrookes

That’s why I said let the hype train roll 🙂

  • jordanxbrookes
    • Rorke File

SGH loves Treyarch, they are learning form them and IW not has send something ?

      • jordanxbrookes

I don’t know if IW sent their congrats to SHGames but I saw these tweets on twitter.

  • CODfanMAN

Saw these two missions in full leaked earlier on YouTube but they’ve been taken down:-( hope they get re-upped!

    • kyr95

      What?? really?? remember the title?

      • CODfanMAN

It was something like Advanced Warfare @ E3 Mission leak or something. It was off a phone but very good quality coverage and about 40 minutes long. It also included the last portion of the mission shown at E3 in the reveal.

        • kyr95

Lucky man!! Well, i guess we wont be seeing it :/ how was it? 😉

          • CODfanMAN

Looked pretty decent; missions seem a bit generic, linear and scripted as we’ve seen before but it should bode well for the multiplayer. Nice textures and some really decent colours unlike the gloomy Ghosts also

          • kyr95

Great! 😀 if you happen to stumble upon it again, let us know! 😀

          • CODfanMAN

            Will do:-)

        • Ryumoau

40 minutes of new footage?! Nice! really wish Activision would officially release that stuff in hd.

        • Keshav Bhat

Any videos or images from the behind closed doors wasn’t allowed and will get taken down almost immediately.

  • Ryumoau

The way you describe these two missions has me really impressed by how much they plan to improve the campaign compared to previous games, especially MW3 (which was my least favorite).

  • Ryumoau

Heres a new interview of Sledgehammer by some site called Polaris 3 hours ago:
    http://www.twitch.tv/polaris/b/537491502

    • kyr95

Thanks man, also theyll do a live streaming in a little on polygon

      • TheShadowReaper

link! link! link! link! right NIAW!

  • Siftblade of Rivia

Drift0r uploaded a new video showing that the devs showed him MP footage pretending to be SP. He explains why he thinks that. Have a look, it’s pretty interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sr1Eu1oximE

    • jordanxbrookes

About to watch it now, but why lie? Lol joking, Sledgehammer just wanna keep the game under wraps for a little bit longer.

      • Siftblade of Rivia

Lol yeah. I guess they just wanted to show off some features without “technically” showing off MP. Idk, but I laughed at the thought of SH employees pretending to be AI.

    • So, sliding is back. Not a new feature but still…
Dashing sounds like a good addition.

      • Siftblade of Rivia

Yup, and instead of a double jump, it’s just one big boost jump.

        • TheShadowReaper

i’m pretty hyped about the dashing. it will create some amazing situations skill/strategy wise and i cant also wait to see it in competitive and E-Sports. it will be one of those “and the dash and oHHHH! the double kill for the round win!” moments which i like in games a lot.

          • MichiganerE

            It’ll be perfect for trolling the 10 year olds. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

          • TheShadowReaper

lol. pretty big on trolling, arent ya? x)

its like this thing they say with camping which i agree with, “its not camping, its strategic positioning for optimal bullet performance”. well the same or close to that can be said about the dash ability. cant wait to use it!

          • MichiganerE

I’m not big on trolling, I’m just saying it’ll be a good way to piss off the Optic and FaZe wannabe 10 year olds.

          • TheShadowReaper

            i agree with that.

          • MichiganerE

            Yes…

          • george zorbas

lets hope there wont be either 10 year olds at AW EITHER..

  • Aymen Skiken

dayuum hearin’ some goowd shiet… my hype level IS OVER 9000!!!

  • I hope the launch of this game isn’t that bad as…

  • lucas

How do you escape bio lab
