MLG today announced new rules and details for MLG COD League Season 3. These rules are about how Free Agencies and player transfer will start working between teams. As many know, roster changes are a big thing in the CODeSports community after a major event. MLG Anaheim concluded this weekend, and roster changes have already began. To help govern this, MLG has announced an unified system for free agency.

MLG COD League Season 3 will begin on July 14th, 2014.

After careful consideration and extensive conversations with team owners, today we are releasing the details and refined rules for Season 3 of the MLG Call of Duty: Ghosts Pro League. The Season 3 draft will take place on Thursday, July 10th and highlights will be broadcast via Season 3 gameplay will take place starting Monday, July 14th with matches streamed on Broadcast details and additional information will be released in the coming weeks.

The free agency rules were created with the aim of defining a set of qualified professional players and qualified professional teams. Anaheim saw 12 teams and 48 players qualify into Season 3. The 12 qualifying teams must complete a 4 player roster from within those 48 players, and the free agency rules will govern all transactions.

Any player that does not wish to join one of the 12 available teams or is not picked up by one of the 12 teams can declare for the draft or decide to sit out Season 3. Any team that is unable to submit a roster of 4 players will be given conditional draft picks to be used at the conclusion of round 4.

With these rules and these parameters of qualified players and qualified teams we feel that both parties, players and teams, are given protection within the new free agency system.

  • Mitch

Anybody just watched these Crimsix fails?

  • OldBrazy on PS4

    I do not understand MLG…

It seems fun and I want to try it but It just seems confusing…

    • jordanxbrookes

It is confusing, that’s why I don’t bother playing competitive.

      • OldBrazy on PS4

If it was as easy as 1, 2, 3… I would join.

        • jordanxbrookes

I wouldn’t say I’d do the same, but I’ll consider having a go at it.

      • it’s not very complicated really, in private matches on Ghosts there’s a single button to apply competitive rules.
You only have to make a team on GB, between 1 and 4 players, select or make a match and then join the guys you’re playing against and play.

    • VVFZ

Try gamebattles out, its the only thing i play on Ghosts

      • Brandon Bosley

How do you play gb’s like do you need certain things

        • You only need someone to play with basically, then make a team on gamebatles and start playing 😉

          • Duke of hazard

I thought you can play alone.

          • [email protected]

            yes you can play 1 v 1 matches 😉

          • You can play singles but where’s the fun in that 😉

1v1,2v2,3v3 or play with a full team of 4v4.

        • VVFZ

You just sign up on and create an account. Then you proceed to find matches on Ghosts like singles, doubles, 3v3 or 4v4s, etc. by creating a team

      • K

Any hints on how stiff the competition is on Gamebattles? Always wanted to try, but never knew what to expect. I’m pretty good at CoD, I don’t remember my WL ratio but it’s over 2.00 at least.

        • VVFZ

On Gamebattles the competition is mild. You’ll find some matches online with people that seem like they just came out of a TDM using honey badgers (easy win), or people who have been playing for a few years. I believe i’m 42-13 in Gamebattles, but thats after a year of practice on Ghosts. With practice you’ll only be losing 2 or 3 out of every 10 games!

EDIT: Remember that GBs isn’t about KD or bomb plants or Captures, it’s about getting the win and leveling up your rank. With 1 bad teammate, you can find yourself playing a 3v4 instead of a 4v4

          • K

            Thanks for the tips man.
I think I’ll try and sign up when Advanced Warfare kicks off. Ghosts doesn’t really work well for me 🙁

I agree with you on the teammates though. On BOII League Play we had a team member who always rage quit in Diamond League. Thank Christ I don’t play with him anymore.

          • Hostslayer

If you need people to play with I’m in.

        • I Do Work

If your using your PUBS W/L ratio to determine how good you may or may not be then no offense your probably not very good. Some gamebattle kids are complete randoms and are terrible, others are very good. Depends on what you play, but overall the players are better than average

  • smh

damn niggas is acting like its fifa or nba….

    • jordanxbrookes

In the words of Vonderhaar “Call of Duty is a sport” It isn’t but the pro players convince the developers that it is 🙁

      • Slothigans

Lmao, masturbating is more of a sport than cod will ever be. And that’s the truth.

        • Siftblade of Rivia

That’s not true unless you masturbate competitively for other’s entertainment. So I guess it depends.

          • k5berry

I have the perfect joke, but it’s a little NSFW for CI

          • Siftblade of Rivia

Lol yeah, I would think so.

          • Slothigans

Yeah I know bro. It was just a joke.

          • Siftblade of Rivia

            As was mine.

          • Slothigans

          • Siftblade of Rivia

          • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

As I said, just because something is competitive, doesn’t make it a sport, it HAS to have physical prowess, masturbating is more “physical” than CoD lol.

          • Siftblade of Rivia

I really don’t want to argue this, lol. Already have done it under better terms, now we’ve added masturbation into the situation. Anyways, I was just joking. Hoped you would see it, lol.

          • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

Yeah I know. I was joking too. I’m not always serious.

          • Hostslayer

chess is a sport nuff said

          • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

It’s no longer considered a sport. Nuff said.

        • Damn, i’m a CHAMPION then. Also, each time i see news like that there are same teams over and over again. Does this involve more than 100 people? Also, here’s my semi-troll statement: “If KB+M is superior over gamepad why does they call it sport? And why doesn’t they use PC instead?”

      • SupremeVishnu

League of Legends is considered a sport, You can get a VISA for it.

    • OldBrazy on PS4

      <— You sound like me…

    • Slothigans

      Well, niggers gotta nig.

      • CGkillZ

        Niggas be nigglin

  • jordanxbrookes

Thank God they’re doing something about this, at one point there were so many roster changes, it made following players and teams so confusing since you didn’t know whether they were coming or going.

    • CGkillZ

I know I started rooting for individuals more then teams when scumpii left optic. But I like the new optic team now. Mostly cause of clayster tho.

      • jordanxbrookes

They need to keep this current OpTic team, it’s definitely a good team.

        • hi

its the strongest OG team , other than the merk, rambo, bigt and jkap roster

        • CGkillZ

Yes it is. Think if advanced warfare is an ar game too. With clay and proofy I can see them beating EG with that roster. The reason EG is good is because 3 people in there roster have been there for almost 2 years. If optic can stay together they’ll do great.

  • Τhε Grεατ Gατsβy™

I used to love MLG and gamebattles back in BO1.. now I don’t even know who’s on what team lol. When it started being considered a “sport” I gave up.

    • jordanxbrookes

Back in those days it was good watching GB matches. I sometimes go back and watch TmarTn and the other YouTubers like Woody, ONS1AUGH7, Bash, etc. in their MW2 and Black Ops GameBattle matches. These days GameBattles just look boring.

      • hedrht

plus those great youtubers are inactive now both ONS1AUGH7 and bash but woody still alive but he only post minecraft vids

        • jordanxbrookes

Yeah, these days everything really has died down, even TmarTn is running out of ideas.

    • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

It’s sad, these douche bags are NOT athletes.

      • elevatee

        they are e-thletes

        • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

They can’t even be considered that.

  • k5berry

Never knew MLG had a draft, free agency and all that good stuff. WOW. Imagine if in like 20 years this stuff is covered like the NFL draft and free agency. I can see it know
Mel Kiper III: I have PlaXi falling to TK at number 9. I have a feeling teams are hesistant to pick him up due to questions about his ability to get enemies he anticipates coming around corners, as well as his preformance in CTF”

  • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

Roster changes all over the place. MLG needs to make up their minds, either that, or just die out altogether, it’d be good for the franchise.

    • elevatee

it would totally not be good for the franchise like wth are you talking about.. call of duty has grown to be the main game at MLG events.

      • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

So? It’s still not even 5% of the community. It ruins the main games.

  • kpap313

NATION season 3 bb lets get it!!!

  • chris

MLG has ruined things money whoring, open bracket of 190 teams prizes where a joke the top team didnt even get as much as a 0-2 team in the 11 selected seeded teams what a joke
