UPDATE [July 1st]: A new patch for Ghosts was released on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, and PS3 today. Here’s the notes:

Spawns

    • Spawn system has an improved ability to select better spawns when valid spawn locations are limited.

 Weapon Balance

    • One shot to the body and one shot to the head is no longer a kill for ARs, SMGs and LMGs. Increases time to kill in this scenario

Anti-cheat

    • Overall anti-cheat improvements.

Additional Fixes

    • Replaced Hunted victor operations and requirements to work with Gun Game.
    • Fixed 60 second match timer that could occur after playing a clan public playlist match then starting a Private Match with CODeSports disabled.

Extinction

    • Player class is now displayed in game above players’ heads along with their gamertag.
    • Kastet rounds now explode at any distance.
    • Fixed an issue where players that exceeded 10 minutes in Chaos mode would get lulls

    • Fixed issue that allowed the player to use an IMS with a propane tank to teleport outside of the map.

A new patch for Call of Duty: Ghosts was released today for PC gamers. The new patch brings spawn updates, weapon balance, and Extinction fixes.

            Headquarters is one of the best gamemodes in CoD. It was CoD’s King of the Hill before Hardpoint. HQ > HP imo.

            Yeah but on BO2, it’s always had few players since hardpoint essentially replaced it. Currently, I’m on BO2, and HQ is 2nd to last with players. HQ has 228 players out of 54,531. Only thing that beat it was Mercenary Moshpit with a whopping 58 players, lol.

            HQ was always a big XP grinder for me, especially on BO1. It was the easiest way to rank up at some point.

            Hardpoint was much faster imo. If you let an enemy take the objective then step back on and kill them, you get 200 points for the capture plus 200 points for the kill, I think. So it was really good for killstreaks and leveling up. But yes, I like HQ back in BO1.

          • Duh, Drop Zone has no based objective at all, so the whole thing is constantly flipping around. That and teammates that are all over the map makes it ridiculously hard to get a decent spawn that isn’t near enemies, especially on Free Fall or Strikezone, which are the smallest of maps.

    • Imo the spawns did get better. I do have a bad spawn from time to time, but people forget that bad spawns can be avoided by proper positioning. If you got that under control.

      When your team is pushed up all the way into the enemy spawn (say Domination for example), and you are back in your own spawn, of course enemies will start spawning near you.

      Or when you team is scattered all over the map, it’s harder to let an enemy spawn far away from you.

        Actually I agree! I’m always emptying half a freaking clip to take some people down. While I don’t completely disagree with the increased TTK, are they taking away one kill head shots? It sucks to get killed by a head shot but it’s realistic. Who can take two bullets to the face and survive even for a second.

      Increasing TTK would of made be start playing Ghosts again. Personally the instant deaths ruined the game and made it unplayable.

        LMGs are gigantic weapons with huge calibers of bullets, they shouldn’t be in multiplayer video games, because they are too difficult to balance. NO game has gotten LMGs right.

          m27 – 5.56 – standard issue nato round

          LSAT (Developmental LMG) using 5.56

          I mean this list will go on they use standard issue assault rifle rounds with higher stability, rate of fire, and bpm.

          The 50 BMG aka Browning Machine Gun round is not an LMG.

          These weapons in some cases are just variants of an assault rifle, and in some cases like the IAR are basically just drumfed ARs.

    I dont understand these pointless updates that dont fix anything important. The spawn updates never change a thing and these stupid so called “weapon balances” are not even the ones they should be worrying about. Plus they dont give a f*** about the weapons that people dont always use. Then the shield only gets updated to make it worse when its all ready the worse weapon in the game. I can only wish to go back in time and not waste my money on a game that 5 year old kids using kindle fires could’ve made and it would’ve been better.

          How would it? It has no 3D models, no editing software, the only thing it would be is a script of code. You wouldn’t be able to play it, just read it. People like you need to know the facts before making ignorant comments, unless you enjoy reading lines and lines of code. Plus if it is five year olds making it, then it wouldn’t even make sense when reading the code.

            I’m at a college called Confetti so I get to use software like Maya, Mudbox, Crytek Engine Editor and more. It’s disgraceful of how much work and effort go into making games like Call of Duty, yet idiots like Rageman think it’s easy-peasie to make a game, make DLC and make patches in the game. People moan and complain about spawns but it’s not the case fixing them just like that. They have to go through the spawning algorithm, do testing to make sure there’s no errors with the spawning, then the patch has to be looked over by Microsoft and Sony, which then once looked over has to be approved by these companies, so patches take a lot of time to actually make it to the public. Shame, I wish everyone was told how games are made, so that they can see for themselves how difficult it is to create AAA titles.

            Yeah I don’t particularly want to go into the programming side of development rather the creative side. But yes, people have no idea. I’m currently creating a basic game on python with GUI and it is way too time consuming for such a small game. Thinking about it the amount of work that goes into such a huge title like COD is unbelievable and people just don’t appreciate their hard work.

      How do you fix spawns when the kids rush everywhere jacking it all up? If they use player position to map control position like they are its up to your team to NOT screw the spawns up.

    Finally, Ghosts has a proper PC version. I don’t think consoles have this version. And YAY a FOV slider 7-8 months in the lifecycle! Better late than never tbh. PC players need unlimited maximum frame rate, then they’d be pleased.

        Seriously? Do you know who chose to game on PS/PC? You did. Xbox has had exclusive content for call of duty for years now so you know that we get it first. Yes, it’s nice to get the DLC first, I’d prefer that. But at least you guys get it completely problem free. It’s annoying having it the whole time and still having constant issues with it, that’s all he was trying to say. With all that being said, I also agree that they need to work on fixing the xbox versions first, because it makes no sense to fix something that isn’t even available to certain people yet.           Yes I have I’m a huge FFA player, and whilst I agree that the spawns are a lot better, what I meant by my comment was that before hand I could gain map control and therefore gain spawn control, now it’s less possible to have map control in FFA.

            Depends, if you knew the map and the spawns, and you had map control, then you were going to do good, if you didn’t, you’re bringing a knife to a gunfight. I played a lot of FFA at the start of Ghosts, so I knew how to get map control and ease my way to victory.

        thats your individual preference. the only advantage with ghosts on console (xbox) is that it was developed for it and only it, which is why it runs well. apart from that there is no greatness. what if i told you controller usage on BO2 is better on PC then console (lets alone servers and graphic and frame rate performance)? every body knows the difference. but for the majority of the PC users this is the truth.

            same here i just tried playing ghosts with xpadder so i dont have to use aim assist and its designed for poor accuracy like BO2 on xbox, its like the make aiming around aim assist. hope this isnt the same with AW

    I like the TTK increase, but I don’t think it will stop instant deaths. That’s mostly a lag/engine issue.

      I believe the issue with this game is the metagame. Metagame has two parts: 1/2 is skill, 1/2 is knowledge of players and the spawns. For instance my skill is great, (accuracy is near perfect), but I can never predict spawns, or playstyles, making me die from behind more than I would want. This game isn’t about the guns, (for instance I got killed at long range by a Vector and I didn’t miss a single shot) It’s about the Metagame. If they nerf every OP gun were just going to get a new OP gun, and therefore eventually every gun will be like a wimpy low damage huge TTK weapon. Best thing to do is work on the metagame.

    If I’m corner camping and some guy runs past me, he should NOT be able to turn around and return fire. He made the mistake of not checking his corners and he deserves to die.

    I wish Advanced Warfare would have fantastic hit detection and TTK; just like in Ghosts. I also hope SHG have balls to stand their ground and not listen to the cry babies.

      Unfortunately, people do not check every single corner. I don’t mind because I can turn on them, because the campers (usually) have trash aim (which is why they camp). Trying to get a reaction is funny because once advanced warfare comes out (there are claims that it is very action packed) I believe all many campers will be fine because they can actually do well, which is great for everyone. From the way you talk you sound like “Run and gun camper”.

    They need to make the ready up time of the vector longer……. If they do that it will help the balance of the subs(making the MTAR more of a movement gun and the Vector strictly a pre-aim gun).

    Also increasing the overall TTK instead of just the headshot TTK would make this game better, but that simply will not happen.

    Spawns have been fine for months. Since July 1, spawn killing is back in force. They really screwed that up.
