Two Naughty Dog developers have joined Infinity Ward. Jacob Minkoff was the Lead Game Designer at Naughty Dog working on Uncharted games; he has now joined Infinity Ward as the Design Director. On his twitter, he tweeted out saying, “New job! Design Director at Infinity Ward. Love ND; can’t wait to play Uncharted 4 as a fan. Excited to work with the talented team at IW!”

Taylor Kurosaki worked at Naughty Dog as the Narrative Design Lead. He worked at Naughty Dog for almost 12 years. He has now joined Infinity Ward as the Narrative Director.

It’s probable that these two have joined the team to help craft the Campaign story for Infinity Ward’s next title, which is expected in 2016.

Infinity Ward got lucky! These guys are one of the most talented people in gaming industry.

  • In Ghosts 2, will they make Riley a Naughty Dog? Awful puns are awful.

    • Black

      Hahaha.

    • galaxygraber

      That sounds vaguely sexual. Like, “Yeah… who’s a naughty dog Riley?… <3"

      • Woah there

An awful pun leads to an awful PUNishment.

  • jordanxbrookes

Looks like Ghosts 2 is going to have the epic emotional story that Ghosts didn’t have. Plus with Neversoft merging with Infinity Ward, IW are heading into the right direction. I just hope they can win back the fans that they lost.

    • Guywithbrains

Could Call of Duty finally get a masterpiece campaign? Not saying others aren’t good, but now they have developers from Naughty Dog. Can you name a bad game from them? 😀

      • jordanxbrookes

Precisely, I mean sure the Advanced Warfare campaign is set to be one of the best campaigns we’ve ever seen in Call of Duty history, but Naughty Dog are THE BEST when it comes to storytelling.

        • Guywithbrains

True. So far story trailer for Advanced Warfare impressed me a lot. It had some pretty good narrative and so on. “Atlas is an international registered private company. We don’t need congress.”

          • jordanxbrookes

“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power” – Abraham Lincoln.

          • Guywithbrains

That was awesome! Also “Ideas don’t determine who’s right. Power determines who’s right. And I have the power, so I’m right.”

          • jordanxbrookes

And “Democracy, democracy, democracy isn’t what these people need hell it’s not even what they want, America’s been trying to install democracies in nations for a century, and it hasn’t worked one time.”

          • Guywithbrains

That sentence is so awesome not just because of Spacey but also because it’s true. We could finally get really impressive campaign also in storytelling. Campaign wouldn’t be so much just endless shooting, but it would also have great story behind it.

          • jordanxbrookes

            Definitely 🙂

          • Alex

True? True? True? Go take an unbiased history class (which is hard nowadays)

            Also really like this:

      • Black

Imho, MW2’s campaign is perfect. 🙂

        • Xecho

you mean modern warfare’s whole entire campaign was perfect that was just the climax

          • Black

            Yes, the trilogy is amazing.

          • Relentless757

All the Modern Warfare games had a shit story at best. When I was a kid I thought they were amazing, but now I realize they were absolute shit. Your either a kid, or a really blind CoD fanboy.

          • Xecho

Or I am a CoD veteran thinking that they were the best. Buddy people can have opinions too. Not just yourself. The world doesn’t revolve around you. Now have a good day.

          • NuttyTheSquirrel

No they didn’t. They had some of the best campaigns, but they’re complicated to understand.
Was the campaign in Black Ops 1 or 2 bad also?

        • The saddest part was the betrayal by Gen. Shepard

          • Black

It was the best part, if you ask me. All the non stop action to get him the drive just to get shot by him… I was speechless.

    • biggy

You are the biggest fanboy on this site.. IW nabs 2 ND developers and all of a sudden they are going to make a masterpiece? I don’t think so.

    • NuttyTheSquirrel

No it doesn’t. That’s such a bold statement.

Didn’t Ghosts have a Oscar winner writer?

Amy wrote all the Uncharted (major games, not the one for Vita) Campaigns. Not Taylor, Amy. He probably helped after the story was writen.

And Uncharted never had an emotional storyline. EVER. There HAS to be something wrong if you get all emotional Uncharted. There are some tention moments, but other than that, nothing.

If Drake died my reaction would be kind of a “Are you fucking serious? ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS??!!”.

An emotional game is something like The Last of Us (Left Behind DLC as well), or The Walking Dead Season 1 (never played or watched Season 2 carefully), but not Uncharted.

And, in my opinion, a FPS game can NEVER, EVER be as emotional as something like The Last of Us, there’s a huge lack of character interaction.

I can’t see myself crying on an FPS, specially Ghosts, which had such AWFUL characters. The only FPS that sort of got to me was when Soap died. But even that was to fucking forced. Soap is nothing but a shield or damage-block. In MW3 the only thing he does is get fucking destroyed by everything, which makes him not Soap. That scene was just there for “emotional purposes”,but I would much rather have him alive than him dying because IW wants you to cry.

Yuri died, I couldn’t care less. Sandman and the crew dies, just cared a bit more than Yuri dying, still… He had time to get on the heli, but nooo, gotta act all MACHO-LIBRE while side shooting dual-wielded Deagles, because ‘MURICA… I mean CMON…
And what the heck was Ghosts’ ending? Mass Effect’s ending is more acceptable than that. Rorke gets a fucking .44 HOLLOW POINT through his chest and then blasted with water, (water) pressure and is able to swim to the beach with a hole on his lung and still has more strength than WE (the player) who didn’t get shot (if I remember correctly).
And if they come out with the “OOooh, it was a Double ALL ALONG” bullshit I’m gonna be pissed.^
With such an atrocious campaign, it’s pretty much impossible to recover from that.

      • Peyton Barnes

          BTW I didn’t understand shit.

They need to improve the graphics engine and sound design.

  • Guest

And there came a day, a day unlike any other. Where all the talented people from naughty dog brought their gifts to the rest of the gaming industry.

    And gamers everywhere rejoiced.

  • They should of teamed up with treyarch! They could of advanced zombies to a whole new level as a whole!

    • Mitch

Yeah the zombies story already got way too complicated…

      • Siftblade of Rivia

That’s why they essentially reset it in Origins. The story was amazing up until BO2, where they butchered the story arch. Hopefully they can do some amazing things with a clean slate in Treyarch’s next title.

        • Mr Doge

What I want is for Treyarch to make a ZOMBIES ONLY game. Like say the campaign is the different maps in order so the story makes more sense and for multiplayer you can have traditional modes and say a gamemode like Humans VS Zombies and obviously a third mode which would be zombies. I wish they would do something like this :/

          • Siftblade of Rivia

The best part about the Zombies storyline imo was that you had to piece it together using quotes and bits an pieces of little easter eggs scattered around the map. There was no definitive storyline using cutscenes or anything. That was the best part, the speculation. I didn’t like how in BO2, they held your hand through the storyline made everything so obvious.

      • MichiganerE

Agreed. The story became a major mind fuck with Black Ops 2.

  • jordanxbrookes

    “Ghosts 2. GOTY. 10/10” – IGN

    • “Naughty Dog made this. 10/10, will cause fanboy wars.”

    • Siftblade of Rivia

      “It’s okay.” 10/10 -IGN

      • Nytrofactor

“Good Campaign. Multiplayer was meh” 2/10 -IGN

        • Siftblade of Rivia

I was making fun of how IGN gives anything a 10/10 as long as they’re paid a little on the side, even if the game sucks ass.

    • Mr Doge

      *Pokemon Red & Blue
      IGN rates these graphics 10/10

  • TADPOLE

Ghosts didn’t have a bad campaign, but I suspect that these guys can take Ghosts 2 to a whole new level

    • Black

      Me too.

  • Ryumoau

I love the uncharted series but this kinda seems like a step down for these two, especially considering how little Infinity Ward cares about their story modes. I kinda wish they had joined Treyarch instead, since i know that it would be amazing and i trust those developers to handle it better.

    • NuttyTheSquirrel

Not only that but many developers tend to run away from studios like IW, who are stuck milking Call of Duty, specially since it is a new generation, meaning that Naughty Dog will finish Unchartedfor good and start a new IP (what they tend to do)… I don’t know. Maybe they wanted to do an FPS game/title and still get some really good income.
And since they are/were Naughty Dog employees, they kinda have the industry to themselves. I wouldn’t even think twice if I had an ex-ND employee vs an ex-IW employee amplying to work for me.

  • jordanxbrookes

    The Last of CoD.

    • IceKoldKilla

That sounds like the worst CoD ever. If CoD ever stops being made, the last title will surely be the worst which leads to them at least putting the franchise on hiatus. I can imagine playing the worst CoD ever and saying “The Last of CoD”.

EDIT: Yes I understood. The Last of Us. I’m not retarded like the troll on here trolling you Jordan on every article. 🙂

      • jordanxbrookes

Please tell me you understood the joke?

        • He definitely didn’t get it.

          • IceKoldKilla

The Last of Us. I should have added a “lol jk” to let it be clear. Oh and how is it you DEFINITELY knew? I wasn’t aware you could read minds through my comments hahahaha just kidding man

        • IceKoldKilla

Lol of course I did. The Last of Us. I should have added a “lol” or smiley face. These comments lack voice tone so I should remember to added things to let it be clear and not confuse.

    Cod 2016 revieuwed 10 by ign #colin #moriarty

    • KevJumbaify .

      Ryan not.Colin.

  • Slothigans

No hate, but why does the headline sound like the beginning of a joke? XD

  • Siftblade of Rivia

Not sure how this will work. I absolutely love Naughty Dog, but their games are almost nothing like COD. Hopefully they put these devs to good use and not waste them on something others could do. Imagine a COD with an amazing storyline.

  • David Sync

A lil late dont u think? ;( Ghost is ending but maybe they’ll do something great with Ghost 2 or Call of Duty Federation 🙂

  • J4MES

I’m surprised they left Naughty Dog for Infinity Ward but it’s more down to money. IW need all the help they can get after Ghosts. I don’t think I’d want Ghosts 2 and the only thing keeping me happy is we still have AW and Treyarch’s next game before we have to suffer their new installment.

A COD 4 prequel may be a good idea but I just don’t know what setting IW could fit into at this time as AW is gonna be hard to live up to.

    • Lar

Money? Or just wanted something different?

    • Top_Goner

Thye could continue with Ghost 2. Those 2 from ND could use their narrative expertise to better the story.

  • Sentinel

Looks like IW are making the right choices and talking to the right people for their next 2016 installment. These two NDog Devs will definitely help shape up the storyline for Ghosts 2 to immerse players. Their history with The Last of Us, nuff said. Now that Logan is held by Rorke! I’m interested to see what happens next! Perhaps a war between brothers…what do ya’ll think? Hopefully IW gain the fans that they’ve lost.

Rorke: “There ain’t gonna be any Ghosts, We’re gonna destroy ’em together”

    • Yup, and Rorke isn’t even the final bad guy. In one of the intels you can hear Rorke talk to someone who is even higher in rank than he is. Actually, we don’t even know who leads the Federation, Rorke is just a field commander.

  • Alex

So does this mean that the they’re working iw temporary or they really made the transfer.

  • Wiz

LOL it’s only 2 devs from naughty dog. It won’t make a huge difference in Ghosts 2

    • Black

Well, they seem to have key positions.

      • Wiz

It doesn’t matter since IW is run by an Activision employee which means IW will do what Activision wants them to do which is to ignore community feedback and make a poor quality AAA game, have less content featured in multi-player, and dish out tons of micro DLC which will eventually add up to cost more than the game itself. I could be wrong though and IW could return to it’s glory days, but I’m still a bit skeptical.

        • Black

I understand your point of view. I personally think that you can make a game of good quality (SP & MP) and still make it very profitable with cosmetic DLCs.
I don’t think that IW can possibly go back to its “glory days”, but maybe build a new strong team.

  • Alex

IW died when Vince,Jason and the rest of the dev team left

    • Xecho

      AMEN

    • Top_Goner

IW will never be the same ever since those people left but here’s hoping that the recent merging of Neversoft and IW plus these 2 guys from ND who recently joined the team could help IW to recover from its loss and produce a good CoD game on 2016.

  • Epicsand

I do not want a Ghosts 2, as some people are saying there will be. Ghosts disappointed me, and a lot of other people in the fan-base, and it has been the worst selling console CoD since CoD 4 released. It would be a good business decision if they did not develop a sequel to Ghosts, in my opinion. What do you think?

    • Drake Mathers

Just shut up. If your ass played the game instead of playing multiplayer, then you would know why we want a sequel. Like eminem said” and if you don’t like me, then FUCK YOU” if you dont like IW, you’re just playing call of duty for gay zombies,

      • Xecho

        Amen

      • MichiganerE

        What are you talking about?

      • Epicsand

Multiplayer is part of the game, and I played all of the game. The SP, which I think you are talking about, was fun, but it’s story was cliche’d, unrealistic, and with the MP, dissapointing in mine and many other people’s opinions. Why do you want a sequel?

  • IceKoldKilla

I hate hearing when good ND people leave. Such good talent going to Call of Duty? Unless they plan to make the campaign so epic is competes with Uncharted or even dare I say The Last of Us (lol unlikely), then I understand but the Multiplayer is the main thing people buy CoD for. They need talent put in there especially since IW isn’t even the IW from CoD 1 – MW2 days. So many left. The creators, 2/3 of the staff I believe, part Neversoft joined, etc. MW3 became so boring very fast. The campaign every year is good. Some have been great. Do you really need to invest in that instead of multiplayer?

  • MichiganerE

So there MAY be hope for Ghosts 2?

  • MONEYS504 .

aku aku will replace Night Owl ? BUDEGA 🙂

  • MONEYS504 .

BUDAGA SCORE STREAK in GHOST 2

  • MONEYS504 .

BUDAGA SCORE STREAK in cod GHOST 2

  • MONEYS504 .

    SCORE STREAK

  • Top_Goner

    CoD just got better then.

  • Wiz

I hope Riley will play a bigger role in Ghosts 2.

  • Brady the Defiled (sillibk)

    Why waste such talent?

  • DopeAap

Does it matter? No, and TLOU wasn’t that good, gameplay wise it was too much Joel not enough Ellie. there should’ve been a better balance. It will the old cod with more fish and individual hair modeling.

  • George

    hmm, pretty cool

  • Jimmy Dean

Why? Why would he leave one of the greatest developers to go to infinity ward

  • PatPatPat

Now if only they got the people who did the graphics for TLOU to work on the next IW game…

  • Peyton Barnes

if cod is going how its been going there should be another cod game next year then one the next year wow will cod ever stop i think 2 more then massacre every hero in the game and make that as a ending
