Anybody actually enjoy the campaign ? .. I’m yet to play, and have just completed assassins creed, so ready for a new single player .. But only heard negative stuff about it.. The only Cod story I have played is ghosts and A.W .. I’m not sure if I should just skip this one ?

    • fires

No reason to skip the campaigns. But it seems the Campaign has its own thing, and its kind of inception-y at the end. The only ties it has to the prior BLOPs titles are the BLOPS2(i think bad end is the canon end) ending and nova6. Its full of glitches and shit, and it has some very obvious ‘boss’ battles that are repetitious. its real fun to go through it with friends though because it has custom loadouts, and cybernetics. Stil worth a go through, even if you dont have time — you could do it at night before bed or something.

    • banerising

AW was fun and good, Ghost was ok, but you really should have played MW1 and 2. 3 isn’t as good until the very end. Black Ops 1 was awesome and BO2 was good but not as memorable.

    • ToonToons22

The campaign certainly was ambitious, but a little too confusing and different for my liking. And that doesn’t just go for the story. The whole “cyber core technology” thing takes a while to get used to since I’m used to the traditional Call of Duty play style.

One of the things that really bothered me is that there are these biometric weapon locks in Black Ops 3’s campaign. You can’t pick up weapons from fallen enemies without a particular cyber core that allows you to do that.

And last but not least, the campaign has nearly no relationship to the previous Black Ops games except for short references to Raul Menendez and Nova 6 and that’s it. That ruined the whole story for me.

However, if you are willing to overcome these, you will find it to be an awesome story with plenty of new content. That is my review of Black Ops 3’s campaign, and I tried to make it as accurate as possible.

      • jordanxbrookes

Actually, there are lots of references throughout the whole Campaign. I thought the same as you too before I realized other references, mainly from Black Ops. I don’t want to spoil anything, but there is a greater picture than just a few quotes.

    • jordanxbrookes

I enjoyed it, got mindfucked real bad too so that’s a +1 to Treyarch. It’s better than Black Ops 2’s Campaign, but still not better than Black Ops.

      • MichiganerE

Agreed, the entire happens out of order with the first level, in chronological, is the last.

    • Guywithbrains

Well I always play through story. I think Black Ops 3 campaign was playable but it went too far with mind f*cking and missions are out of order chronologically and because of these reasons campaign felt messy and hard to understand. Also there were no set pieces.

And who’s design idea was to put critical story info to too fast scrolling text? I have to check Youtube video to know what it says…

TLDR: Okay and playable campaign but feels a little bit messy. First time I am slightly dissapointed because of campaign. But definitely play it through to see if you like it.

      • ScOott

Seeing ur reveiw of it in older posts with people agreeing with u, is what actually made me question if it’s worth playing in the first place, I seen someone else give it a 3/10!

Looks like il give it a go, and just not expect too much,, thanks to everyone who replied..

        • Mr_ysi42t96

Man it’s soo good you’ll never expect the ending, NEVER

        • tuby

Skip it only play mp or zombies. I have played it but didnt like it at all.

  • Myst Ls

See I would get this, but I already have the black ops 3 fps freeks and I’d rather buy another pair of vortex kfs

  • Off topic but I really wished Treyarch did more with the paint jobs. The fact that you can cover three parts of the gun is disappointing. The HVK-30 gets the worst of it, you can only cover a little part of that gun and it’s top part of it, like really?

    • fires

it depends on the gun, i guess the way the sides of the barrel extend when reloading limited its space. But honestly, theyre all good, I cant really think of anything as bad as the HVK’s paint area though

      • I just wish there was more to it, but yeah the HVK got the worst of it, disappointing, i wish i could do more with that gun

        • banerising

Yeah, it’s too small on all of them for me. I wish they’d cover more. Could you imagine an editor like Forza? That’d be crazy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KArJRupEodY Dude made that with the editor!

          • Yea if it was like Forza that would be awesome!

    • Kobrah

But they they won’t sell any DLC CAMOS later on

      • I have a strong feeling that Treyarch was going to have the paint shop like cover the whole weapon but Activision probably didn’t want in favor of camo dlc or better yet them like doing a micro dlc where you can put the “paint shop” on other parts of your weapon. Don’t sound far fetched considering they sold extra create of class slots before lol

  • YoungMurf

I read in an earlier article that specialists take longer to get in OBJ game modes, but I’ve been playing HC S&D for a few nights now and noticed that nobody is using a specialist throughout the match.. Is it off or something?

  • Ryumoau

Awesome designs, especially the campaign skull. I might get this since my Dualshock 4’s right stick had its default rubber torn off. 🙁

  • MichiganerE

Hey Charlie Intel, I found a VGChartz article where Glen Schofield states in a tweet from Twitter that Sledgehammer is designing a new game. I don’t if you’d find this info important, but I decided to let you know in case you found it news worthy for any reason. Anyways, here’s the link:

    http://www.vgchartz.com/article/262159/sledgehammer-games-were-designing-a-new-game/

    • Hopefully it’s that Vietnam era game they cancelled for Advanced Warfare. If it is, I would totally dig it and gladly give SHGames another chance

    • CoDforever

They already retweeted it on twitter

      • MichiganerE

        Yep.

    • John

Hope for a World War 2 kinda game

    • J4MES

‘New game’ aka Advanced Warfare 2. I wouldn’t trust Sledgehammer to make another COD title regardless of what direction they take it in. They are lucky that they’re still apart of this franchise – if Activision weren’t such money-whores; they would have got shot of the entire studio after AW.

      • MichiganerE

        True.

      • RdJokr

People used to say similar things about Treyarch after COD3. Guess what happened…

        • SPAWNST4R

yes, they continued make sub-par shit CoDs.

          • Ha

          • RdJokr

A little bit early to be starting the hate step in the COD cycle there, buddy…

          • SPAWNST4R

…and if you read my comment it says “continue”. They always have made inconsistent shitty CoDs. Fanboi away tho.

          • RdJokr

For someone who clearly hates the game so much, you spend way too much time here…

While I agree that aim assist and headglitching are problems that need to be solved, hit detection has been spot on for me. So no, I don’t have to “fanboy the shit out of it”. I like the game, plain and simple. But I suppose anyone who doesn’t see your viewpoint is a fanboy, right?

          • SPAWNST4R

If I hated the game I wouldn’t bother and move on but quite the opposite, Why do you think that only positive comments should be allowed?? I am annoyed at the huge flaws that mire and break this game year on year. If you cant see the hit detection problems in this game they I put it to you that you don’t understand the issues rather than the “fanboy” auto response that there isn’t any.

            http://lmgtfy.com/?q=black+ops+3+hit+detection

          • RdJokr

Did I say there isn’t any problem with the game??? NO, I DID NOT. I said I don’t feel there’s a problem with the hit detection, and that’s it. So stop putting words I never said in my mouth.

        • J4MES

COD 3 had one of the lowest budgets in Activision’s portfolio history and Treyarch’s staffing at the time was threadbare and barely recognisible compared to when they started WAW. They also relied on Exakt Entertainment to help bring the game to market. Times have changed for them and the COD brand alot since then. Sledgehammer have remained a small sized studio with practically the same personnel for the last 8 years and unless they have an IW-alike overhaul or receive more backing; their next game wont be able to match the pace of the brand or franchise as set by Treyarch right now. SHG have basically brought nothing but disappointment to the table in the 6 years they’ve been involved and they are fortunate to still be tied to Call of Duty really.

      • KK5

I’m not sure about that. They could take (I’ll call it AW2 because why not) AW2 in an entirely new direction due to the not so cliff hanger ending of AW

    • RdJokr

Well it’s obvious though. They’re already one third in progress. I imagine that actual production will begin sometimes next year.

      • MichiganerE

        Yeah.

      • Keshav Bhat

Wait what. They began development on their game as soon as AW shipped. That’s why it’s a three year dev cycle. Actual production started a year ago.

        • RdJokr

Don’t they usually refer to the beginning stage here as pre-production, like coming up with ideas and concepts? I could be wrong about the time frame, but that is how I see most games being developed. You can’t really produce anything without ideas and concepts from pre-production, and you can’t really have pre-production of a game while the previous one is still in development.

  • LEL

They spelt control and freek rong so i want be bying any of there produks.

    • FazalGaming

Yet you can’t spell simple words…

I too don’t care much for the campaign mode, eventually I’ll play it though. Ghost’s campaign was alright, too bad about multiplayer. AW’s campaign was good, nice to see Kevin Spacey in COD.
