Eclipse, the second DLC map pack for Call of Duty®: Black Ops III, arrives first on PlayStation 4 on April 19, delivering four new action-packed Multiplayer maps, including the re-imagining of the Call of Duty: World at War classic, Banzai.

Battle through four new MP environments that take full advantage of the Black Ops III movement system, including a martial arts tournament arena, a post-apocalyptic tribal compound, a future civilian sub-orbital airport, and a military rail system suspended high above an active volcano.

VERGE… Mad Max gone wrong I a map nobody wanted remade…
KNOCKOUT: Another Asian architect inspired map that no one wanted… AGAIN
SPIRE: It’s like Greenband and Skyjacked, except all white
RIFT: Yo dawg, we heard you like lava…
You know, these scripted trailers really piss me off sometimes because no one ever plays like this and there’s little no variety in what people use/do… I was honestly hoping for another Replacer trailer with JB Smoove, probably trapped him in a Supply drop… *sniff*

    • Diego Diniz

VERGE look like a good map. The others are exactly like you said…
I really like COLORFUL Maps. IDK Why…

      Then don’t play them…

      • Gamerazor247

Why do people act like someone can’t criticize what the fuck they buy, seriously…

        • Will WilFredo Mendoza

Then why buy it if youre gonna bitch about it in the end? Pretty sure you must have been someome that bitched about BO3 when it was announced, and went ahead and bought it anyway, to still bitch about it.

          • ccrows

            ^ Nailed it.

@GZ247 when Ghosts went into the toilet, I ended up cutting my losses (season pass and all) and went back to BO2.

Why even bother playing DLC2, if you’re gonna hate it anyway?…

          • Gamerazor247

I’m literally making fun of the map designs, me bitching, would be me whining about how people main the VMP. Or better yet, complaining about how people camp in fucking Hardcore. And for the record, I was optimistic about Black Ops III when it was announced, just like I was with Advanced Warfare, so get that shit outta’ your head, sir.

          • Will WilFredo Mendoza

Youre making fun of it yet you said your pissed off about it? Especially about the way people play? Riiiiggghhhtttt……

          • Gamerazor247

Yeah, SOMETIMES, because these trailer get you so hyped and you wish you and your friends and even your opponents can do all this exotic shit and experience fast paced momentum and shit. But no, matches move at a slow pace and you easily manage to get your ass scoped because you were to busy doing wallrunning, while someone was standing in the generic sniper post room… Waiting… TL;DR asshole, I WISH things would play out that way, I don’t want, nor really upset, therefore, I’m not even really “bitching” about it, you’re just kind of making it out to be that way.

          • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

I only have it because it’s a Treyarch game, and I figured that I’d support a AAA game that actually has some content, for a change… I’m personally good with all that I got, it’s just the online that’s the problem.

          • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

And I think everyone has the right to bitch when they’ve been supporting the franchise for the past decade. Buying them at full price, buying a lot of the DLC, etc., and having a shitty online experience just makes the players feel betrayed.

    • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

No map will be worse than Greenband. At least Spire is smaller and more open. Probably has the least headglitches in the entire game, so it’s all pure madness. I think I’ll like that map a lot.

    • Argy

They piss me off because they do a bad job at advertising the map… and the tells me the maps don’t have a lot to offer if they can’t be forthcoming

All maps other than rift look kind of shit from what I’ve seen, zombies looks awesome though and hopefully will save the game mode as its been going downhill since mob of the dead.

    • Hauntum

Origins? Der Eisendrache? They’re both really great maps. The game mode hasn’t gone downhill.

      • Heyyyy, that’s pretty good

Mob of the Dead was great as well.

        • Thomas the Tankswag

Motd is the best map made in zombies, and the mode should have got better from there, but instead we got buried, origins and SoE.

          • Heyyyy, that’s pretty good

I liked Buried and love Origins and SoE.

          • Thomas the Tankswag

Buried – Get everything set up by round 1 due to the bank and weapon locker, impossible pubs and arguments in private matches due to leroy, OP perk vulture aid and an unlimited ammo weapon which should never exist in zombies.

          • Heyyyy, that’s pretty good

Yes, it’s an incredibly easy and broken map that can easily be exploited, but it was enjoyable in a weird way. It’s far from my favorite, but it’s good for fucking around with others.

          • Thomas the Tankswag

Buried was just about good enough to last the time until origins, origins lasted 2 months and then it was back to mob of the dead and die rise for the year and a bit till exo zombies.

          • Heyyyy, that’s pretty good

Nah, I love Origins just as much as MotD, and they both lasted quite a while. Die Rise on the other hand, I didn’t like that map too much.

          • Dickmissle

Origins and moth made it till bo3

          • Dickmissle

            Motd

          • Heyyyy, that’s pretty good

            Yes.

          • Thomas the Tankswag

Die rise i hated to start with as I died cheaply so many times by falling off the map, but i pushed myself to get better at it and eventually i loved it as i was getting to highish rounds (47 was highest) in a really hard map.

Are you a solo or coop player? When i played 4 player with everyone having mics origins was good, i just found it boring and grindy to set up and play in solo.

          • Heyyyy, that’s pretty good

I prefer coop, and Die Rise is one of my least-favorite maps to date.

          • Dickmissle

Imo characters have something to do with maps transhit crew was trash every map there on I can’t play any more because they make me want jump off a bridge

          • Heyyyy, that’s pretty good

Yeah, they’re by far the worst characters in the Zombies canon.

          • Thomas the Tankswag

WaW , tranzit and soe teams have been the worst by far, i can agree with that.

          • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

Die Rise was awful, Buried destroys that map in every way.

          • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

Buried has to be the best map ever, because there were so many good features. Zombies is never “easy”, there are just features that improve the experience, and more maps should be like it. It’s nice that they’re adding BO2 features to BO3, but I’d like it if they brought back the bank and something like the candy and booze, where you open the majority of the map using it for 1000 points and to lock the box and have an AI friend kill the Zombies. It’s really a fantastic map.

          • Heyyyy, that’s pretty good

Nah, Buried was incredibly easy, it had no challenge or difficulty at all. But seeing you believe that Zombies is never easy, would you mind explaining how the map wasn’t?

          • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

What makes a map easy? The bank? If we’re only talking about the bank, then yes, it’s too easy, but it’s a nice feature that I’d like to see in the BO3 maps. Changing the difficulty? The candy and booze? The weapons? Being able to choose where we put the weapons on the wall? The Jug spot is good, but there have always been places to camp in Zombies, so all maps must be easy, if we’re going there. All of these features except the bank don’t make the game too easy, they’re fun features that give the map replayability, and they don’t give you an unfair advantage. Being able to lock the box? Brilliant feature. Restrictions =/= balance/difficulty.

          • Heyyyy, that’s pretty good

Nah, all of this made the map easy. It was designed with several different flawed mechanics that took away any difficulty that the map could have had.

          • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

How are the mechanics flawed? Zombies have always been challenging, since all of the Zombies have always had the same AI, so it’s nice to see what the developers can come up with, especially with the “map gets harder and harder after each round” concept. I’m not saying it’s a hard map, either. I just don’t see how difficulty makes a map good. I don’t like the BO1 maps in comparison to modern Zombies, besides Ascension. The layouts were too narrow and there were too many restrictions. Is that how you make a difficult map? I’d rather have more features and more things to do than have a simple map and do the same circles over and over again. If I want to do that, then I’d at least want more things to do, which is why I don’t think spending “x amount of minutes to set up the PaP” and such. Buried is an awesome map.

          • Lets get right into the noose!

I never said that the map being easy made it bad. Also, it’s nice having more to do, but those things to do made it too easy. Just look at the back, what’s the point of even doing anything when you have the bank? You can get enough points from that and be set on round 1. That’s makes it boring too quickly.

          • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

Yeah, I see where everyone’s going with this; it’s mainly the bank, and although it might make the map a breeze, I still found it to be a welcome addition, because it gives you the freedom to do whatever you want, even if it lowers the threat. I mean… locking the box? Getting the Giant to get the parts you need for the Buildables? Pretty awesome, fun ideas, if you ask me. I just think that “too easy” is a bit exaggerative of a term.

          • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

What? There’s nothing wrong with the bank, it’s a feature that exists to have more fun, and it made things interesting. I’m baffled that Treyarch didn’t bring it back. There are many things that Buried did right, which is why it’s one of the best maps ever; Leroy locking the box (arguably the best feature ever), the bank, the Raygun Mk.2, etc. And what weapon has unlimited ammo?

          • Hauntum

You can’t judge Shadows of Evil. It’s not even a DLC map. Compare Tranzit to Shadows….need I say more? Shadows has 5 times the content Tranzit had.

          • Thomas the Tankswag

It’s 1/3 of the maps in BO3 zombies, im pretty sure i can judge it. What does it not being a DLC map have to do with anything? I’d love to see your logic behind that.

Tranzit was a good map, just because shadows has more content it means nothing. They’re probably roughly equal maps, which shouldn’t be like that as zombies should be improving as time goes on. Quality > Content any day, Nacht was a simple map but was really fun and challenging.

          • Hauntum

Throwing Shadows in the same boat as DLC is naive…Free maps have always been and will always be inferior to DLC for obvious reasons. Also, Shadows is not equal to Transhit by any stretch of the imagination. Ask any avid zombies player which they prefer.

          • Thomas the Tankswag

On reddit the opinion of tranzit/shadows is roughly the same, you either love it or hate it. Free maps have never been inferior, we got kino and five in bo1 and also got diner and farm survival in bo2 which were simple but fun. Also in bo2 we got grief mode, which added so much variety to the zombies mode.

Would you rather a big tranzit map, 3 survival maps and 2 PvPish grief maps, or 1 average map?

          • Hauntum

Honestly, one re-playable map is worth more. The 3 survival maps were essentially the same, with some minor tweaks. Tranzit is large, yes..but it’s also annoying as hell to play. I admit, Grief was fun, if your idea of fun is having tryhards crouch in front of PaP for their win…Much fun…so skillful.

          • Thomas the Tankswag

The mode is called grief, douchebaggery is acceptable. I wouldn’t call SoE replayable, after a week the PaP and sword processes were grindy af. Tranzits PaP was annoying, and the waiting for the bus was annoying but thats part of the game.

          • Hauntum

So the annoyances in Shadow are “grindy af,” but the annoyances in Tranzit are just “part of the game” Contradiction is your strong suit, I see.

          • Thomas the Tankswag

The annoyances in shadows of evil are “Takes 30min with a boring, repetitive process to set up”, the annoyances in Tranzit are “Missed the bus, guess ill just have to risk getting killed by a denizen grabbing me while im near a horde.”

          • Hauntum

Ever tried not getting Pack a punch/swords so early? Wait until higher rounds and you can do everything faster and with a slight challenge. Also, if I remember correctly, Mob of the Dead was also quite repetitive with building the plane and feeding dog heads…It’s zombies. Repetition is inevitable.

          • Thomas the Tankswag

30min is when i wait for higher rounds, it can easily take an hour for people that do it early. Building the plane wasn’t really repetitive as some steps were fun like the laundry room and the one where you get trapped in the enclosed area and your friend has to use afterlife asap. The steps for the plane are also all different, in SoE its just grab a part, place it, run round in circles or corner camp and kill keepers. Dogs can be done while playing, you don’t need to go out of your way at all.

          • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

You don’t have to do the Easter Eggs.

          • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

            Bingo.

          • Dickmissle

More is my favorite but no where near the best it’s so easy setup shield electric cherry double tap jugg every perk was good most weapons were good the Thompson was op and a wall buy acid gat easy training and camping but it’s a close number 4 but zetsubo no shima looks amazing I hope it’s a challenge

          • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

What? Buried is a damn good map, too, and so is Origins and Shadows. Every map in BO2 after the first meh map got progressively better, in my opinion. I mainly liked all of Buried’s features, and I couldn’t care less if it’s “easy” or “extremely challenging”, I care about fun, and Buried has to be the most fun Zombies map ever.

      • Thomas the Tankswag

Origins was shit for solo players, was good in co op but still no where near as good as moon/motd/cotd/kino. The only reason people like it so much is because it was the return of the original 4.

Der Eisendrache is good in some areas – it has a fantastic easter egg, brings back great features like the motd dog heads, panzers and Wunderfizz, and it also has quite a nice layout. However, its insanely easy whether your strategy is camping or training and gets really repetitive unlike previous maps which is annoying as a hardcore zombies player. Its also unplayable in pubs and annoying to play co op due to the lightning bow Being so much better than the others. The story is also going to be pretty repetitive as the giant – richtofen kills richtofen, der eisendrache – Tank kills tank, and ZNS (probably) – Takeo kills takeo.

SoE is a good map if you have the time, set up length is 30minutes which is pretty annoying and bad characters (other than jackie fucking Vincent). Overall, its a good map but nothing compared to what zombies used to be.

The giant is good, but its a remake so its hard to milk anymore game time out of der riese when i already have 200+ hours.

        • Hauntum

You’re acting like you’re forced to build the bows or something…If the bows/alternate ammo are “insanely easy”…then don’t aquire them. It’s that simple. Zombies is a game mode with much room for personal accommodation. You could literally play ANY Bo3 zombies map in the same manner as Bo1 maps.

          • Thomas the Tankswag

If they’re there, I’ll use them. The point of zombies is to push yourself to harder and challenging rounds, id just rather that was in the 20s and 30s like in most bo1/2 maps than it be in the 60s and 70s it is now.

          • Hauntum

Again, you can create the same BO1 challenge gap by limiting your assets. Your argument is futile.

          • Thomas the Tankswag

But by limiting your assets, you’re not a contender for leaderboards which is a lot of the fun in zombies. Your argument is futile.

          • Hauntum

Leaderboards have been glitched/hacked since WaW. Take a gander at leaderboards and tell me if you don’t see ObesityFag at the top. Not much room for contention while that exists.

          • Thomas the Tankswag

I mean friend leaderboards, as a competitive person its fun to beat friends i play with and set ourselves challenges like first to get to round 50 in each new map.

          • Hauntum

So tell your friend “Hey, let’s not use gobblegum/bows and see who can get higher” Boom. There’s your BO1-style gameplay. I don’t know why I have to explain this over and over…It’s quite simple.

          • Thomas the Tankswag

And theres no point in not using gobblegum/bows, i will utilise the full map if the features are powerful. Im fine with 1 of the maps being easy, but im just hoping ZNS is hard and also if it brings back the scaryness it would be nice.

          • Hauntum

There is a point if you want “competition with friends”…Beggars can’t be choosers.

        • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

Call of the Dead was straight trash, and Der Eisendrache is definitely not an easy map.

    • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

What? Black Ops 2’s DLC maps were the best, and Shadows of Evil, The Giant, and Der Eisendrache are also among the best, at least in my opinion.

  • Ak74u

This DLC looks really good, definitely a step up than awakening GJ treyarch map developers keep up the great work???

    • Siftblade

Well it’s called the “Eclipse Multiplayer Trailer”, so I’m pretty sure it was intentional

      • zombies is multiplayer….

        • Siftblade

No, not the literal term multiplayer. The name of the game mode in COD for PVP is Multiplayer. Go to the home screen, for example. You can either choose between Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. That doesn’t mean Zombies isn’t technically multiplayer, it just means it doesn’t fall in the gamemode Multiplayer. Make sense? To differentiate it, Treyarch calls Zombies co-op.
