UPDATE – August 10: Another teaser image has been shared, this time with the following caption: “There’s something sinister beneath the sand. Visionary director Willard Wyler left audiences begging for more with his horror masterpiece NIGHTMARE SUMMER.”

Original Story:

Call of Duty has shared a new teaser image for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s Zombies mode on social media today. The new image shows a theater poster for Disco Devil.

The image was shared with the caption: “Burning up the dance floor took on a whole new meaning in Willard Wyler’s DISCO DEVIL, setting box office records on fire. #IWZombies”

During Comic-Con last month, Activision officially shared the logo for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s Zombies mode and stated that more information is coming sometime this month. The Zombies mode will also be playable at the upcoming Call of Duty XP event.

  • Qritical

I really, REALLY hope there isn’t any thruster BS in Zombies mode like AW… But i doubt that D:

    • grimm joww

rumor has its boots on the ground for zombies

    • BradyAlucard

AW doesn’t have thrusters, it has boosters. Thrusters are more jetpack-like, AKA what Black Ops 3 has.

  • I saw a supposed “leak” that one of the zombie maps in Infinite Warfare will be Kino Der Toten remade..

    • And supposedly Pack a Punch returns and perks return, but you “inject” the perks in you.

      • CyberWolf

I’ve heard that the 4 playable characters are Price, Soap, MacMillan and Ghost. Can’t remember if it was the same leak or another…

        • I didn’t see anything about characters in the leak. The leak stated its is in its own storyline and whatnot, and it stated the map remake, perks, pack a Punch and supposedly Easter eggs are harder than ever. Developers think it will take three month to solve the base map easter eggs.

I don’t believe them honestly, and if any of them are true, then I’m really not playing zombies in Infinite Warfare. Sounds like Treyarch zombies

          • CyberWolf

My bad. I knew about what you said. The thing about the characters must’ve been from a different “leak”.

          • Yeah, thats the only leaks I have seen, I haven’t really paid much attention to leaks this year honestly

          • BradyAlucard

I don’t mind another Treyarch-like Zombies season. If they change too much, then no one will like it, like Extinction, which sucked in comparison to Zombies. I’d much prefer this or both.

          • If i want Treyarch zombies, I’d play a Treyarch game, the creators themselves for Treyarch zombies. And honestly i wouldn’t mind playing zombies on BO3 for another two years.

          • BradyAlucard

That’s why Zombies is an annual thing, now, it’s because of the fact that Treyarch literally cannot do it for 2 years, and the fans will not enjoy any other mode because of how good Treyarch Zombies is. There is huge potential of Infinite Warfare Zombies, here, and if not, then the possibility of Extinction via that leak a few weeks ago should help that itch for something else alongside Zombies.

    • Qritical

I doubt IW (Ward) would rip off Treyarch’s work… Besides, there’s the rumour that DLC4 for BO3 will have only zombie maps, which means we might get Kino remade in BO3

      • if DLC4 is zombies maps only, Kino Der Toten will not be a map that gets remastered. That map isn’t even worth for a remaster

        • Qritical

Well, they brought Der Riese back in BO1 AND remastered it in BO3, so it’s still possible. A lot of people love Kino and it’s the first map that introduced the Thundergun (which we haven’t seen since Ascension). I’d love to see it come back cuz it was the first ever Zombies map I played.

          • No, If there is a zombies only DLC. There are much better zombie maps to be remastered. Kino is not one of them and it would be a waste. Kino Der Toten is literally a Der Riese reskin and it was cancelled WaW map and had little to no story progression. Kino is an average map at best

          • BradyAlucard

It was not a Der Riese reskin in the slightest, where did that come from? What should be remastered? Boring maps like Shangri-La or Moon? I’d like to see Kino with Black Ops 3 graphics.

          • Lol yeah it was, it was a Der Riese reskin. 4 perks, and teleporter with pack a Punch. Kino offered nothing new but a Thundergun. It was overall a boring map. And Moon is far from boring and Shangri La is much better than Kino.

Maps I want remastered would have to be Ascension, Moon, Mob of the Dead, and Origins. Take two of the best maps from Black Ops 1 and two of the best from Black Ops 2, you got yourself a good zombies only map pack

          • BradyAlucard

Oh, so only in the mechanics, not the layout of the map? Because it’s definitely not a reskin in that regard. I thought that the concept of a German theater post-World War II was pretty cool, and it’s a fun map for those who liked the more simple World at War-like maps, because maps like Moon and Shangri-La started the trend that Zombies players criticize in modern Zombies today; they feel like a chore and they’re “too complicated”. I’ll always love Zombies, but Black Ops 1 was definitely not my favorite (besides Ascension). Moon and Shangri-La are probably my least favorite maps in Zombies history, and I REFUSE to play on zero gravity against spaceman zombies again (this doesn’t mean that I think they’re bad maps, they’re great, just a tad boring, especially when I compare them to Black Ops 2 & 3). But I’d definitely go for an Ascension all-out remake. That’s definitely one of my favorites.

Those are great maps to remaster (OMG Black Ops 2 remasters would be incredible), but I’d probably substitute Moon for either Call of the Dead, Shangri-La, or Buried from BO2. *Maybe*, but it’s Zombies, so I’d probably still like it anyway.

          • Moon and Shangri-la were complicated for its time but compared to TranZit, Zetsubo, they’re walks in the park. Plus I thought Moon was all out amazing. It truly went all out and went out with a bang figuratively and literally. I hope Revelations is similar to Moon in terms how much content is in the map. There is also a supposed “leak” of a remastered Moon on Black Ops 3

          • BradyAlucard

Tranzit is not as bad as everyone says it is, the only part that most people didn’t like was the lava, that’s pretty much it. Zetsubou is an awesome map to just play on, I don’t know about the easter egg, because I don’t do them. Shangri-La’s special zombies were pretty cool tbh, and Moon had good ideas and I remember liking both maps. But I don’t see why they’re considered to be any “better” than Tranzit or Buried. They’re all good/fun in their own way. Buried is regarded as a bad map because of “easiness” (despite CoD being an easy game, mind you), but it’s one of my favorites because of all of the things you can do. I like Tranzit because of the size and the fact that you can take a bus around, it had a lot of cool ideas that I thought were fun, although, yeah, the lava is tedious, but so were the traps in Shangri-La, or George Romero in Call of the Dead. I seriously think that the Zombies maps are more fun nowadays minus the easter eggs because I have all the time in the world to do those some other time.

          • People did not hate TranZit for the lava, like with Exo Zombies, i could write a book on why TranZit is a pile of shit and it easily goes in my top 5 worst zombie maps along with Kino Der Toten, Call of the Dead and so on.

Zetsubo No Shima is just a pain to get set up on. Nothing about Zetsubo No Shima screams “let’s play this map” it’s a shame, because i was looking forward to it, but the map design just isn’t good.

When it comes to Buried, and yeah I agree Call of Duty is an easy game, but I think Buried was even too easy for a game like Call of Duty. I could play Buried blind, and with one arm tied behind my back anf still get to the 40s. However my grip with Buried is how goofy of a zombie map it is…it’s just out there. Big ol red neck follows you around the map. That’s just a bit goofy. It was also a step back from Mob of the Dead. But the zombies team did Buried and Campaign team did Mob of the Dead. Other than how goofy and easy Buried was, it was one of the better maps in Black Ops 2 especially compared to TranZit and Nuketown

          • BradyAlucard

I completely disagree, though. I don’t think a “bad” Treyarch Zombies map exists, even as far as Tranzit goes. There are plenty of bad Treyarch Multiplayer maps, but I don’t believe that they have made a single “bad” Zombies map. That means Tranzit, Kino Der Toten, Call of the Dead, Buried, Shadows of Evil, etc. I seriously saw nothing wrong with Kino at all whatsoever and found it to be a wonderful map as far as Call of Duty “standards” go, if it has any. It has the simplicity of the great World at War maps with the challenges that faced players in Black Ops 1 maps with the iteration of Nova Crawlers and, last time I checked, you don’t have to do any teleporter-mainframe backpedaling like in Der Riese, so there’s that.

‘Nothing about Zetsubo No Shima screams “let’s play this map” it’s a shame, because i was looking forward to it, but the map design just isn’t good’

I’d still much rather play Zetsubou No Shima than Multiplayer at this point, because I don’t have to worry about sweats ruining my experience, so there’s that, too. I found Zetsubou to be good, personally. Getting the power isn’t nearly as “complicated” as so many players think it is; they must have a weird definition of “complicated”, because I’ve seen “complicated” games, and Zetsubou ain’t it.

In terms of Buried, yeah, it’s a tad easy, but I think that all of the things you can do on the map makes up for it. I’d like to see it again, personally speaking. And I LOVED Nuketown. The visuals and the simplicity made it fun for me (and my family, we all play and love Zombies the same way), and I also loved the concept of Grief.

        • BradyAlucard

Sure it is, Black Ops 1 had pretty muddy graphics, so it would be perfect in BO3, especially with the World War II decal…

          • Not talking graphics wise. Talking how boring the map is gameplay and story wise. It’s not worth a remaster

          • BradyAlucard

I loved Kino. The entire purpose of a remaster/remake is graphical changes. Maybe gameplay changes here and there in terms of remakes.

    • Eric

I saw a leak that said one of the maps takes place in the giant storm of Jupiter and the first weapon you get off the wall is a laser cannon. Can’t remember if it was the same leak or another one…

  • lunator100hd .

Enough with the stupid teaser nuisance, can we just get something with actual gameplay info?

    • RdJokr

It’s called “creating hype”. Marketing 101.

      • BradyAlucard

Doesn’t mean we all have to like the marketing. This is all irrelevant because it’s extremely vague and I’m tired of waiting so long when it might be a disappointment anyway. They just need to release footage, not tease with these images that don’t mean a whole lot. This has gotten old; if they want to “market” or “create hype”, then maybe they should change up their “marketing” formula, because it’s gotten archaic.

        • RdJokr

This is a very basic, yet successful marketing move since the dawn of marketing. It’s only archaic for those who have gotten used to it, but generally, you have to let things slip out gradually to garner people’s interests. Especially if it’s Zombies, because Activision knows that people love to speculate on the nature of what is given to us.

This isn’t like when Beyoncé drops her album outta nowhere and still gets massive sales. Without some kind of pre-release hype, you can’t create hype where it matters: the skeptical crowd who are still convinced Treyarch is the only developer that can do Zombies.

          • BradyAlucard

This only holds weight if they haven’t been marketing the games (notice how I made it plural, I’m referring to every CoD post-Modern Warfare 2) with things like this despite having 2-3 gameplays since the game’s reveal. I don’t see the need to hold off on revealing gameplay when that’s more important than any image tease. But my bad, I thought they weren’t showing Zombies until the end of the month, not mid-month (the 16th).

  • This is the wall from Kino with the missing portrait – it appears we are in fact getting a Kino remake.

    • Dr. Edward Richtofen

      No way is it happening

  • Sentinel

No zombie nor multiplayer gameplay leak…damn it. & stop comparing IW zombies with Treyarch zombies. Shit has nothing to do with their take on zombies, no even remotely close to it!

    • Mick

I’m hyped for zombies this year. We have never seen Inifinify Ward do a zombies mode before and I’m really interested in what they got coming.

      • Sentinel

Same, I read some unconfirmed info about the zombies on Infinite Warfare…It stated that it might have an create a class for zombies. But I want to put any speculation at ease and have the show the reveal already!

        • Mick

Yeah, Ghosts had some sort of create a class with Extinction where you can pick your weapons and upgrades, but a full out create a class where you can add attachments to the weapons and stuff would be a cool idea.

          • Sentinel

For real, the “buy off the wall” it’s getting old already! I want to be able to jump on the the match with my class set up and be able to rekt zombies with it!

          • Extinction was bad

See, you want it “that” way and others want it “this” way. You can never please everyone. But I think Infinite Warfare will keep their zombies pretty close to Treyarch zombies in many ways possible.

Activision is behind it. They see that treyarch zombies is selling like hot cakes. Didn’t Activision said something along the lines of “If it works and sells, we do it again”? Yeah. Maybe IW is allowed to put their own little touches on it but I wouldn’t expect massive differences.

          • Sentinel

That is a real fact, the COD community is one of the hardest to please. & I know, but anyone are free to imagine anything lol But I think it is doing well because people are buying COD points to get all the bubblegums!

          • RdJokr

See, that is basically going against the entire idea of “survival”. Would be a super moot point if you have everything set up before you even begin a match.

          • Sentinel

There are plenty of survival elements that could work on a fast pace game like Call of Duty. Not just “wave-to-wave” mode, leave that to Treyarch, that shit is getting old lol. Yeah you can start with your own set up and have some cons to balance it out. I got some pretty cool concepts but I’ll leave that to Infinity Ward, let’s see what they come up with…I’m open minded to anything they have got

          • BradyAlucard

Going by this logic, Zombies shouldn’t be so limited, nor wave-based, because it doesn’t really feel like I’m “surviving”, because Treyarch Zombies are as much of a “survival” game as No Man’s Sky is an FPS.

Out of all of the things that we could do in Zombies, and we’re just limited to guns. I can understand those Multiplayer-only or Campaign-only guys out there who don’t like Zombies, because being so limited can get old after a while (especially Campaigns).

          • Sentinel

I’m saying!! I like how Treyarch has the wave to wave mode and add some Easter eggs to give it a sense of purpose to really try to survive just long enough get it all done. I just think that starting the zombie mode with nothing more than just a pistol…it’s getting old for me. I want to be able to be equipment with my own “create-of-class” and really be ready to blow zombie brains up! I would make it more fun to be honest.

          • BradyAlucard

I hope they don’t make Zombies Extinction, that’d just be annoying and stupid. They should be like Treyarch where they feel *inspired* by Extinction and put something like Gobblegums into the game, but if I have to Create a Class AND have incremental upgrades or even have something like moving drills in front of hives then it’ll be boring.

      • Sentinel

        Bro, Say No More.

    • Assist King

No kidding. Let’s see some damn multiplayer already. Shit is getting old of them showing everything but that.

  • Mick

I think Zombies will be pretty good this year. I wasn’t much of a fan about Extinction, only because I only had Point of Contact, and I’m sure that the DLC maps were better, but Zombies is something that we have never seen before from Inifinity Ward and I think they will nail this.

    • Gimpanese

      Extinction kicked ass.

      • Mick

As far as the DLC went? Because I don’t own them and I never even bothered to watch gameplay on any of them. I just wasn’t interested in it when Ghosts was in its life cycle.

        • Gimpanese

I liked all the extinction maps. Seems like I’m the only one but I was looking forward to the next extinction. Oh wells.

    • Ak74u

Well I’m not, treyarch are the only ones that make good zombies and that’s what we said about advanced warfare that they could make a good zombies and nope I hate how they are just ripping off Treyarch zombies

      • Mick

I would wait until we see gameplay from IW zombies before people start making their assumptions right off the bat. We haven’t even seen a single piece of gameplay from them and we won’t even know how it will pan out.

        • Ak74u

I don’t care that’s what people said about advanced warfare zombies and it was shit. I don’t get my hopes up like I used to the other cod developers are now straight garb

      • Sentinel

Treyarch don’t own the “zombies” Yeah they came up with it but IT IS OKEY for Infinite Warfare to try something different with it. I just hope it ain’t wave after wave mode but to have some sort of chaos mode with all the vicious zombies coming at you. But that is some random ideas for zombies

      • BradyAlucard

Who cares? People want it, people thought Extinction sucked, and now we’re getting Zombies… *from ex-Neversoft developers*. Advanced Warfare Zombies were decent, fans just thought it wasn’t as good as Treyarch Zombies because they changed the movement system, that’s literally the only reason why.

        • No, exo zombies was trash from top to bottom. I could write an entire book on why that mode sucked. It was hot garbage

          • BradyAlucard

It was the movement for me. Shouldn’t have been Exo-Zombies. Everything else was a different take on Treyarch’s Zombies. I thought it was decent, but I refused to get more DLC for that game, so who knows? Maybe someday I’ll play the rest of the maps now that I can play it on PS4.

          • The movement was bad, the story was bad, the maps were bad, and it felt like a spin off to Treyarch zombies. It was just bad all around

          • BradyAlucard

They’ll do better when there aren’t Exos anymore. I’m pretty sure it was Raven that made it, though.

          • jordanxbrookes

I loved Exo Zombies on Outbreak since it gave me that gritty, dark atmosphere and fear factor. The other maps were meh.

    • Sentinel

Extinction was good but zombies sounds a lot more better than anything. Hopefully it ain’t a wave after wave mode. Like have a own little story mode…it would be so nice!

      • Mick

Of course! What’s zombies without a story behind it? I do like a classical zombies map where it’s wave after wave, like Nacht Der Untoten from WAW for example. Maps that had story behind it would be cool and I’m sure they will do something like that.

      • Extinction was bad

It’s definitely wave after wave with a story behind everything if you dig for it, just like it is now with treyarch zombies.

        • Sentinel

Is there any solid information about this?

      • Filthy Prank’d

I kind of wish that they would have a Zombies Campaign, along with a survival zombies mode, the way 3ARC does their zombies. So, for those who want to play the story, they play that, and those who just want to survive as long as they can without any worries of completing tasks, they can stick with the original zombies.

        • Sentinel

Bro, Say-No-More. If Activision cuts the bullshit and divert from making almost realistic scenarios stories, make a full military zombie brand of Call of Duty with campaign mode…I think it would be epic. But of off-course, you only get it in the supply drops! & True that, you want to stick to something, there’s always a game for that…with a lot of hackers LMAO! I’m excited for the Remastered!

    • DLC maps werent better, they got worse with each map. Which is why Extinction should have been in Infinite Warfare, i felt it needed a second chance.

  • Johnny

Still waiting for some real gameplay. These teasers aren’t good enough.

  • What you looking at?

srsly they need better teasers..i dont see any good related zombies here..

    • Aidan

I just think this image is supposed to give you a hint for the setting.

      • What you looking at?

might be,but still its not a good teaser

Well, that’s your opinion. I think this is just fine.

            okay

          • Aidan

Never said anything bout your hair. If you had short hair I’d still think you’re a shooter. That’s probably just me.

          • I fail to see how I look like a school shooter. I like to think I like a normal person. But hey by all means, go on, even though I would highly advise getting some better material because its not so good. Just my awesome advice my dude

But like I said, you tried, you failed, but hey man try a little harder, you might actually might me laugh, but what you said didn’t cut the cheese my dude

          • Aidan

            again, it’s just me.

          • Right, because I couldn’t read or see that in your last reply. You have an awesome habit of stating the obvious.

Hey, if you could do me a favor, and go down the comment section and reply to each of my comments telling me “that’s your opinion” because i kinda need that obvious stating right now tbh

Might shoot up a school because no one has told me that

          • Aidan

Well clearly you didn’t read my last comment since you replied. Could have just ended there, but nope. Also, yikes, threatening to shoot up a school? that’s low.

    • How is that even closely related? wtf lol
I doubt Treyarch would be happy if Infinity Ward use their maps and creations.

      • RdJokr

LOL, you think developers do remakes without receiving consent from the other team? Besides, why do you think they even need consent? If Activision tells Treyarch to give them a map so they can do a remake, then they’ll give one. No further questions asked.

And need I remind you that Raven Software remade the first 3 WaW Zombies maps for their own Cyborg mode in COD Online as well? Don’t see anyone rioting them over that.

      • Element115Will

Already is for CoD Online. Least its on earth and not in another fucking planet.

        • xMarvelous

CoD Online use Cyborg Zombie because their Goverment not allow zombie corpse running arround, violence, superstition, but cyborg zombie can reduce the violent and also superstition (zombie flesh=superstition, cyborg zombie = sci-fi) in game. When you stab the zombie the blood not red but blue so you don’t have to rate it 18+ you can rate it to 16+ => mean more customer.

Pretty sure everyone whined with the reveal trailer and now everyone is praising it. Pfft.

        • Aidan

Yeah, but that was actual gameplay. you’re complaining about a teaser image.

          • Element115Will

Pretty sure once revealed, it will be on multiple planets about a virus being spread on multiple planets. But again, I am only complaining cause now every CoD has Zombies. IW shoulda kept going with Extinction.

          • Aidan

Well, from what we no it takes place in 1985 in a completely different universe from the campaign…and I mean, just look at the picture dude.

          • BradyAlucard

“IW shoulda kept going with Extinction” Why? So they can have a mode that wants to be Zombies, but isn’t?

    • Sentinel

Shut up, you are just a salty hater. As usual.

    • Alex

I agree. IW will stink like shit. only losers and lazer gayloards will buy this shitbox of a game.

      PEW PEW PEW PEW

    • lunator100hd .

Why does it matter if the campaign takes place in space or earth, the only thing we should care is how fun the game will be, stating that zombies is wrong just because of the futuristic campaign makes you sound like a dumbass.

    • BradyAlucard

Extinction is better off as a secondary Co-Op mode for Zombies, because it’s not nearly as good.

    • jordanxbrookes

Well, you never know what’s in store 😛

    • ShiroAkuma

man , DONT believe what those leakers says i dont care if they leaked somethin in the past , to me IW zombies wont be in space well maybe just 1 map and not the entire mode

  • Ruski Drinks Brewski

Nazi zombies would be great, because I want some hitler memes and random shit.

    • Dr. Edward Richtofen

      Richthofen is hitler

      • Ruski Drinks Brewski

        that will be amazing

    • DEMOLITION12

      how about commie zombies

  • Think fast

    • Aidan

What if this is some Dead Rising level shit where during the Zombie outbreak, Willard Wyler, the director of these movies, traps 4 civilians in a shopping mall and he attempts to re-create his films, because he loved making movies so much, that the only way he could satisfy his love for film was to actually recreate them.

      • DeadZombieGaming 12

That does sound interesting, but how does the space logo for the gamemode come in?

        • Aidan

It looks like a design you’d see on a carpet in an arcade, which would tie in perfectly with the shopping mall idea.

  • Jay Evan

    What dies this mean?

  • No.

    So original.

    • BradyAlucard

Tell me, mister professional game developer, how is it not?

  • xjumper

Never understand why people care so much about the Zombie garbage

    • BradyAlucard

Probably because it’s a fun and interesting mode that is a great stress-reliever that you can play to have a breath of fresh air after playing the rage-inducing Multiplayer? Zombies isn’t garbage, Multiplayer is.

    • Dr. Edward Richtofen

Never understood why your mother didn’t abort

  • this game is gonna tank im playing better games than this tripe….ive given up on cod https://www.youtube.com/user/ITSTHEGAYKLINGON

    • BradyAlucard

    • DeadZombieGaming 12
