It’s finally time: we have the code for that mysterious Infinite Warfare Zombies box we received from Activision last week, and now let’s take a look inside:

  • There’s a pair of Converse shoes inside
  • Two shirts, one says “Go get em!”
  • A Rubix Cube
  • A VHS tape with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Zombies in it.
  • A “DANCE” hat
  • A Party Animal Pack
  • A audio tape with a tape recorder

  1. It was quite disappointing, but this is what i really expected.
    Zombies related stuff.
    But a fucking Rubix Cube?

        • This must not be the Kino remake. That might be in the Legendary Edition (I think that’s what it’s called)?

          • Is the kino remaster confirmed? This actually interests me. The rest of IW zombies looks okay, but if I wanted a silly zombie game id play Dead Rising

          • I don’t think it’s confirmed yet, it might be a surprise later. And Dead Rising (at least 3) is pretty meh. I’d rather play Infinite Warfare Zombies, especially with the amount of potential that it has.

          • Meh. Dead Rising is cool if you just want to have fun and kill zombies in fun ways. You can also wear whatever you want, drive vehicles, build weapons, and it’s open world. I feel like IW zombies will just be kind of like Treyarch zombies but with more traps, silly guns, and a bunch of minigames everywhere. Personally I don’t think the potential of IW zombies is high at all. At best I think it will be a mindless zombie gamemode where you can kill zombies in crazy ways, but it won’t be able to hold anyone’s attention for longer than a few hours before the repetitiveness takes over

          • I’m mainly talking about 3. That game had no substance, it was mainly all about herds of Zombies rather than rich and fun gameplay. As for IW Zombies, well, we haven’t even seen genuine gameplay yet, all we’ve seen was a trailer so far. I think the setting alone will keep everyone’s attention, and if anyone’s familiar with Black Ops 3 Zombies, I think it’ll be as good, and it’s infinitely better than other Call of Duty Co-Op modes (I wouldn’t take only Extinction, that mode as a standalone Co-Op mode is not satisfactory, I’d take it as a secondary mode though). I think everyone should keep an open mind and give it a chance because it may be a new breath of fresh air.

  2. Nothing in the box was properly “Call of Duty Themed” except the logo on a case for a VHS?

    Perfect time to drink Bleach!

      • There`s no proof of existence that it`s entirely set in the 1970`s, Remember Shadows Of Evil? Yeah, Expecting a completely 1930/40`s mob setting with alien bugs and futuristic weapons?

        • Cause it was a Alternate Reality like all of their Zombies are…
Also, most of the hint like Afro Zombies, colourful space logo, A horror movie creator, it is all coming together…

          • That`s like putting a completely futuristic Multiplayer with… Western Campaign (To me) but the Western has directed energy weaponry, I don`t know if you know where I am coming from?

          • That’s because Black ops 3 had those weapons to begin with, and they weren’t gonna waste time creating new weapon models for one map(also, did you forget about the bootlegger?). Most of the stuff within zombies is based off of time travel and other-worldly magic, hense why Mob of the Dead had modern weapons, and why the Orgins team maps have the modern-futuristic weapons.

    • No, that’s fucking smart. This is some genius marketing right here. Every person who got this box now has to find a VHS tape player. This is on par with actual EE hunting in Zombies. Except you actually move your ass to find shit, not your fingers on the analog stick.

        • I mean, for the people that never touched a VHS tape player in their life before, then yeah, it’s kinda like that, because you wouldn’t know where to look in the first place.

        • You’re being a real ignorant shit. Each box is special to each one who recieved it, in the box their was an address to a local gamestop where Dev’s setup a TV with a VHS player for free use and even gave the employee’s a memo of each ones arrival and what was happening.

          • Cry more.

NoahJ specifically hid the address so there was no possible way for us to know.

Also, there was no point in making them go to GameStop for us to watch the trailer on some blurry shakey phone cam footage when they could’ve just released a trailer like they usually do.

Makes it even worse that he calls it
” genius marketing ” because they had to watch it on a TV at GameStop instead of YouTube. lmao ” genius marketing ” my ass.

          • What the fuck are you on about? He went to the GameStop and we clearly seen the employee’s.

It was an innovative marketing tactic. It was about the experience and how much they’re showing us they care. We’ll see the trailer in about an hour or so.

You’re just so negative about it, you’re blind to this genius idea and aren’t trying to understand it. This is really showing in the fact that you’re out of shit to complain about.

          • >What the fuck are you on about? He went to the GameStop and we clearly seen the employee’s.

            Watch the stream again.

He opens the box, hides the address and specifically says ” it’s some kind of address that’s near me ” than hides it.

He then spends the next 5 minutes contiplating buying one, before he goes out and actually tries looking for one. He only goes to GameStop because the chat kept spamming it to him. You clearly didn’t watch it.

            >It was an innovative marketing tactic. It was about the experience and how much they’re showing us they care. We’ll see the trailer in about an hour or so.

I don’t get it. You’re trying to tell me my opinion is wrong by saying your opinion?

            >You’re just so negative about it, you’re blind to this genius idea and aren’t trying to understand it. This is really showing in the fact that you’re out of shit to complain about.

” Waaah, waaah. Nobody could possibly not this super cool and new, otherwise they’re just blind. ”

You’re just being a child, sorry you can’t handle someone finding something stupid.

I find it stupid, and even more pointless if they upload a trailer of it anyways, trying to tell me im ” blind ” and that i WANT to complain is silly, when I have defended this game multiple times before, been positive to it before, and have preorded the COD4 edition of it.

          • I can, but your action will cause a reaction. Learnt that from a french movie we saw in class. But yeah you talking bad about it will piss of the die hard fans then you know what happens after that

          • You try to do something this awesome. Not a lot of people market things like this. Neither will you. Just do your thing, bitch, laugh, it’s a lost cause because this shit fucking worked.

          • I didn’t say it did. I’m just this was the right approach and it worked. Perhaps it isn’t better, but it isn’t any worse.

          • If you’re saying that they’re doing it more often then yes, they should, but Activision should be even more creative next time.

          • Ok so this is kinda genius because the theme oh the map so far is the 80’s and such. What did people actually use to watch movies and such, which the map is supposedly, another movie from the director guy( I forgot his name)…a VCR. It makes since. Some of you people are too easy to be triggered and don’t stop to think about how it fits in. But that’s just my opinion. feel free to correct me and such

          • Yeah, I won’t, because Acitivision/Call of Dutys’ head of marketing isn’t my occupation, what!? *facepalm*

          • Have you seen marketing campaigns for other games? There have been SO many more creative ones.

          • Of course, but this is an odd case, because it’s Activision behind it. When’s the last time they care about anything other than supply drops. For better or worse, it was still smart.

          • They could have done so much more than this, though? Some missed opportunities. I hope they do this again next year for Sledgehammer, if their project is worth caring about.

          • Say what you will, this marketing tactic worked. Your opinion is nothing really. You can’t help someone who doesn’t want help.

          • >Say what you will, this marketing tactic worked.

It was a ploy to garner attention.

It was going to get attention regardless if they did or didn’t put up a trailer.

Call Of Duty is a million dollar franchise, it’s not like if the reveal was just a trailer it was gonna have like 10 views.

Its like this whole thing tripled their preorders or anything either, the people who where gonna want to see the reveal were going to go out of there way to watch it anyways.

            >Your opinion is nothing really. You can’t help someone who doesn’t want help.

It was apparently enough to russle your jimmies and reply with some stupid shit I proved wrong.

I will find it stupid, and you can get as mad about it as you want, your opinion is ” nothing really ” either.

          • It was implied wasn’t? Sure they could have uploaded the trailer, but wouldn’t have garnered as much attention.

Perhaps you right, but it doesn’t mean it’s stupid, or it is, whatever. I just think it was the best way to introduce the theme of Infinite Wafare Zombies.

I’m not trying to be you’re enemy or anything. You’re probably a nice person with an interesting look on things. I suppose this means you win? Whatever works for you. I don’t know what you won or what I lost.

I just like being a bitch on the internet. Have a nice day, man. Take what you will from the time you wasted here, because I will.

Sorry if I wasted your time and what little effort you used against me, I can tell you barely used any.

          • Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t all advertisements a ploy to gather attention for a product 🤔

          • <<fb. ★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★✫★★::::::!il395r:….,……..

        • It was genius actually. The close is warn by in-game characters. You get to be the character in the game. And sure, you may not have a VHS tape, but the box came with a local address for you to go to if you didn’t have one.

          • >It was genius actually

Once again, your opinion does not invalidate my opinion.

It’s sad at this point that I still have to explain this.

            >It was genius actually. The close is warn by in-game characters. You get to be the character in the game.

Yeah, because just wearing the shirt makes you the character ingame.

            >And sure, you may not have a VHS tape, but the box came with a local address for you to go to if you didn’t have one.

Do you think because you’re a different account, that repeating the same arguments I’ve already throughouly disproven, make them valid?

          • >> Once again, your opinion does not invalidate my opinion.

Similarly, your opinion does not invalidate their opinion either.

            >> Yeah, because just wearing the shirt makes you the character ingame.[sic]

You’re right. It doesn’t. And yet, people still continue to enjoy receiving memorabilia that links them to a game in some way. Why is this bad?

            >> Do you think because you’re a different account, that repeating the same arguments I’ve already throughouly [sic] disproven, make them valid?

Disproven? You haven’t disproven or proven anything. All you have done is state your opinion. If opinions were proof enough, I’d have proven that ‘I deserve 1 billion dollars a year for sleeping’ by now.

I think what we have all learned here is that you aren’t a fan of this kind of advertising. And you know what? That’s okay. This advertisement isn’t for people like you. It’s for the people that like this sort of stuff.
I’m sure you’ll get an advertisement you can enjoy eventually.

        • Yeah, except in this day and age, not everyone has a VHS player ready to go. Even if they do, you gotta admit, this is playing well with the 80s theme.

Maybe some of you guys don’t get it, but this is top-tier marketing, the kind that every company wishes they could have to expose their brand. I expected no less from Activision of course, but this is how you stay on top of your competition in the marketing department: You do crazy shit. Sure, you could just slap a trailer in everyone’s face and call it a day, but there’s no fun in that. A little hype here, a little teaser there, and some viral stuff to top it all off.

All I can say is, this whole schtick with the reveal has gotten me super excited for the game. Shitty MP or not, I’m laying my cash down next month for it.

          • There have been so much more creative marketing campaigns than this it’s not even funny.

          • Yeah, the VHS idea is cool and unique and fits the tone. I think its great but they should have also released the actual hd trailer within the hour imo. Not wait till gamescom. What I disagree with is calling this “genius marketing”. Its not, its just a VHS tape. Stuff like this has been done before, this is nothing new. This isn’t crazy shit. Its literally a box with goodies to keep the COD channels happy and to get their audiences unnecessarily hyped for generic clothes that they will never get and a shitty trailer you can barely see. You said earlier you thought this was on par with EE but irl. Well you must think Pokemon Go is an insane EE because you have to walk places. “Wow, that’s some EE!! Its genius and on par with all the ciphers and puzzles in Tryarch zombies!!” No. They walked to a game stop to watch a trailer. It was a one step “EE” with no puzzles, literally told you exactly what to do, and a lackluster reward.

You’re the problem. “Shitty MP or not, I’m laying my cash down next month for it.” Why? Because you like the marketing? Wtf? You’re going to spend $60-$110 to show Activision you appreciate them putting a VHS in a box and giving Youtubers a bunch of “gifts”??? Jesus Christ. You literally just said you’re gonna buy the game not because you think it’ll be good, but because you’re hyped. Go fanboy somewhere else kid

          • Uhm… no. The marketing was good, but that’s Activision’s thing. I am impressed by what I have seen, which means I think the game is good. Pretty good reason to buy the game.

Plus, even without Zombies, I plan to buy the game for the campaign anyway. Zombies is just a factor to decide whether I buy the deluxe edition or not.

  3. I’d rather have a fun, quirky zombies story set in the 80’s rather than the overly edgelord qualities of exo zombies.

      • Well, this isn’t fucking Treyarch, so learn to live with it instead of acting like that one kid who got vanilla instead of chocolate ice cream.

        • Well fuck all the people asking for zombies. Treyarch zombies has always been original and every studio wants to copy now to please their fans because trey arch is the only good studio now and we all know it

          • That’s your opinion. Well, an opinion based off closed-minded personal preferances.
Exo zombies deserves credit for at least easily working on implementing the technology and setting from advanced warfare into the Zombies story, instead of using the excuse of other worldly magic like Treyarch zombies.

          • They deserve no credit they made an awful game sledgehammer made supply drops and for that I will forever hate sledgehammer and their zombies mode was ok but the maps were horrible and a lot of other things wrong with it 5/10 imo and by the way future doesn’t suit zombies well which is the main reason I like Treyarch zombies, no Exo suits, classic weapons and real bad ass characters

          • You sound like every youtube commenter on a COD video.
            1. agknowledge that supply drops suck, as if we don’t know already
            2. hate non-treyarch zombies because difference
            3. Hate Advanced Warfare because future sucks because it’s in the future.

          • Because everyone totally wants Extinction, an alright idea, yeah, but wasn’t nearly as good as Zombies. There’s no need to complain, here…

      • There’s no “real” CoD Zombies. Think of this as just another Treyarch Zombies DLC season, what’s the huge difference? That’s the point of introducing Zombies in this game.

    • This is pretty unique for infinity ward. I like the 1970-80s feel of the trailer. Hopefully it plays good when the game comes out
