In a new interview with Venture Beat, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg has confirmed that the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy and Legacy Pro editions are the only Collector’s Editions for this year’s title, replacing any other editions that previous games might have had.

It’s our biggest bonus content ever, our most valuable bonus content. We’ve had collector’s editions that have been creative and well-received. But this is taking the place of things in the past like night-vision goggles or GoPro cameras or Juggernaut refrigerators for your game room. This year we’re offering an entire remastered, beautiful version of one of the greatest games of all time.

We’re thrilled to offer it to the community, because we do know there are people who love and appreciate that classic gameplay, and of course, it offers a way to satisfy all of our fans, no matter which style of gameplay they’re looking for. The combination of the two games is really what drove us. We have a new creative vision for Infinite Warfare paired with one of our most beloved games brought to life in a new way.

Activision CEO called Modern Warfare Remastered the ‘biggest bonus content’ they have ever offered with a Call of Duty title. Modern Warfare Remastered is included with Infinite Warfare’s Legacy, Digital Legacy, Digital Deluxe, and Legacy Pro Editions.

Dont care much about “collectors” I am just impatiently waiting for the Multiplayer reveal, I may have given my negative feedback based on the trailers, there is still one mode, which is what everyone is obviously, “patiently”, waiting for. So this news here is “meh” to me lol.

Just one more week, man! Just chill and do what you were doing, life’s been pretty fast lately 🙂

  • imBATMAN

furst to say furst at 9:56 AM here

  • Slothigans

So the legacy edition with modern warfare is 79.99. Then there’s a digital deluxe that includes both games and the season pass for $100. Does that mean I’d be getting the pass for only $20? If so I’m hopping on that soon.

    • What you looking at?

Uhm yes according to the price? but its more like…..will this game be rly worth $100? im just gona buy the $79.99 version for now for IW and cod 4,so if IW will be bad (i have hope for it) then i didnt waste another $20 then 🙂

you can always buy the season pass later

      • Slothigans

I think it will be. I mean you’re saving $40 on the season pass so why not. All CODs are fun for me I’ve been playing with the same 2 buddies since world at war. So this is a deal for me.

        • super duper cool

even though it’s too late but buying digital copy grants you 2 copy of the game and season pass ….i have pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition with my mate each one of us paid only 50$ and we both gett the games and season pass ..i use my account to play and he has my account activated on his ps4 as primary and plays the game with his own account

So i got MWR + IW + Season pass for only 50$

          • Slothigans

            That’s a great deal

      • Sol Malus

You can always buy the season pass later, but not for 60% off. The season pass is $20 rather than $50 if you get the digital deluxe edition.

        • Slothigans

          This.

        • I’ll be fine with just spending $80

          • Sol Malus

It’s literally $1 per map for the season pass bundled with it.

Jussayin man, if the zombies this year ends up being fucking fantastic, it’s $20 or $50 for the season pass.

          • Nah

          • Sol Malus

What do you mean Nah? I’m stating facts. If you end up getting the season pass after the fact, it’s going to cost you $30 more.

          • I don’t care about your facts, I’m not wasting money on season pass ever again on any game ever anymore.

        • Former

Digital gaming is worthless so no thanks.

          • Slothigans

            How is it worthless?

          • BradyAlucard

All it’s good for is slightly more convenience. At least you get the feeling that you actually own the game with physical media. With digital media you have no reason to ditch physical media entirely for it and it limits you as a consumer, hence why an imminent digital age is so worrisome, objectively so. There’s no refunds/trade-ins. Not as much attachment nor sentimental value. Nothing. It just feels like mere coding on a screen.

          • Slothigans

While everything you said is very true, idk I still prefer digital. We’re most likely heading into a digital age anyways. Sad but true.

          • BradyAlucard

Understandably so as it can be more convenient, as long as you don’t attempt to fulfill an agenda, I don’t mind what you do.

          • Filthy Prank’d

I’m not the type of guy that says that digitally bought games is better than physical, but at this view in CoD, it is. Buying Digital Deluxe insures you for the Season Pass, MWR and IW, all for $100, and depending on where you live in, you don’t get to pay for tax (I live in Pennsylvania, US). For Physical copies, only Legacy Edition and Legacy Pro is there, being $80 and $120. If you also pre-order the game on PSN before Oct., you get to play MWR campaign before Nov., and you can download the games before it unlocks. Again, not a Digital only guy, I also have my share of things on physical too.

          • BradyAlucard

If you ask me Activision is only advocating it. Physical purchasers should get it too but I understand that Season Passes are digital/downloadable only.

          • Kyle Soule

            I hate digital games

          • Sol Malus

            Uhh… why is that?

          • BradyAlucard

Refer to my other comment, I’ll rehash copy and pasting it here. Feel free to retort and all that jazz.

“All it’s good for is slightly more convenience. At least you get the feeling that you actually own the game with physical media. With digital media you have no reason to ditch physical media entirely for it and it limits you as a consumer, hence why an imminent digital age is so worrisome, objectively so. • Sol Malus

No refunds? I just got a refund on NMS 2 weeks ago. Ps4 user here.

Not as much attachment or sentimental value? That’s completely subjective. I have more attachment to my account which has all my trophies over the last 8 years, plus all the games I’ve bought, than the Watch_Dogs disc I bought from Gamestop last year and haven’t played in forever.

Limits you? Sure, if you call not needing to get up a single time to switch between multiple games limiting, or pre-loading games so I don’t have to drive up to Gamestop for a midnight release wasting time standing around plus the gas money.

If my disc breaks I have to get it replaced, as in buy another copy. Most games I buy have DLC as well, and it’s more value subjectively to me, to hold onto those games than trade them in for $5 later on while that DLC sits on my account with no way to play it.

Feels like mere coding on a screen? And you’re talking about “mere coding on a disc”. Big whoop. Cool. Does that make it objectively better? No.

          • BradyAlucard

And you’re sure that No Man’s Sky wasn’t the only case? Last time I checked, digital media on consoles have a no-refund policy, if not, then I must be thinking of DLC. Does my claim about digital media mean that I think that it should be wiped from existence? Not really, I’m stating why physical media shouldn’t.

It’s just a fact that physical media is important to the industry, and that they have more sentimental and attachment value. I mean… how can you be sentimental or grow attached to what’s essentially code in the equivalent of an app on a cell phone? Convenience (fastness) of digital media is literally all that it’s good for, but is it really that big of a deal to switch between game discs and having the feeling of full ownership? You don’t even need to drive to Gamestop nor spend your gas money, there are many options on the internet to do so, such as Amazon. Sure, it may be considered even less fast than digital media now because you have to wait x amount of days for the game to arrive, but I’d rather wait for a game that I’d feel happy for owning than buying the game digitally, it’s just not the same. I don’t know about you but I think it’s pretty neat to have a side-hobby of collecting games and putting them on your shelf for yourself and others to see.

“If my disc breaks I have to get it replaced, as in buy another copy” You shouldn’t have to do that for Blu-Rays this generation. That was crap in regards to gaming since PS1 all the way up to now, but now it’s pretty much a non-issue. “to hold onto those games than trade them in for $5 later on while that DLC sits on my account with no way to play it” That’s saying that you’re obligated to sell it for $5. I mean, heck, why are you sending it to Gamestop to begin with, knowing that you’ll be scammed? And, respectfully, I don’t really understand why that reasoning means that digital media has more value to you than physical media. “Big whoop. Cool. Does that make it objectively better? No” Lol, it’s a pretty huge difference, actually. You should understand the point I’m trying to make, it really feels like an app, as I stated before; hence “mere code on a screen”, it feels like nothing else.

Physical media is objectively better because you aren’t tied to any restrictions, control, nor other types of limitations such as DRM(online stores can shut down at any second and the platform holder has full control of your products) other than driving to a store in some cases, is collectible, refundable, tradable, attachable, and you feel a full sense of ownership of your $60 product. Whereas digital media is just faster, but that doesn’t magically make it more convenient. If an all-digital age happens, then I’m done with gaming, because limiting my options to the equivalent of a mere app would be an utter joke of a limitation and I refuse to take part in it.

          • Sol Malus

I don’t have a lot of time, but it’s a totally subjective matter. The fact that we’re even arguing about it is subjective.

You’re probably older so owning physical media is nostalgic for you. For me, the convenience is more important, so it’s subjectively better.

Refunds are definitely a thing on PS4. You just have to know what to say, just like on Steam.

      • dust&cheese

There will ALWAYS be another deal later down the road. Anyone that says otherwise is oblivious to marketing. The most important piece of advice I can give you is, NEVER PRE-ORDER ANY DLC. Period. Don’t put your money down on something you know nothing about. If you buy a season pass for this game; you’re betting that the multiplayer will still be fun in 6 months.

        • This right here. Exactly why I think season pass is a waste of money and will not purchase them anymore in future.

          • Former

I agree. Although, when it comes to Treyarch, I usually just go ahead and get it because I know the zombie maps alone will be worth it.

        • Siftblade

I bought the BO3 season pass because I knew I would love the zombies and I do. So its not never, there are exceptions

    • djml9

Yes. And PS4 had a “spend $100, get $15 back” special a few months ago, so i got it for $75.

      • Slothigans

        Nice!

      • Snipemare

Dang, that’s some nice math you got going on there

        • What do you mean? How’s that nice math? 100 – 15 is 95 not 75.

        • djml9

          Typo

    • dust&cheese

meanwhile head over to your local store and buy a box of tissues when you realize IW is garbage

      • Slothigans

Lmao I don’t need tissues bro. I have fun no matter what COD it is. I play with friends and have always had a good time.

  • Michael Romo

Still better than spending $80+ on a refrigerator so small it can’t even fit a twelve pack of soda

    • djml9

Actually, a 12 pack of soda is exactly how much it fits.

    • BradyAlucard

      Nah, Juggernaut fridges are cool.
