Activision announced during the PlayStation Meeting that Call of Duty will be supporting the brand new PlayStation 4 Pro. The PS4 Pro allows for 4K quality gaming, HDR, and more.

Both Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will support the PlayStation 4 Pro out of the box on Day 1.

In addition, Treyarch will be updating Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 to support the PlayStation 4 Pro on Day 1 as well.

    • No shit the pricing is this low. This doesnt do anything new except upscaled 4k for 4k monitors. Not even 4k blu ray which the Xbox one SLIM HAS .Making it any more expensive than a regular ps4 is a slap in the face.

      • “Making it any more expensive than a regular ps4 is a slap in the face”

Are you being serious? 4.2 teraflops alone is worth selling our current PS4’s and paying the additional $150. 4k Blu Ray, an unneeded feature at this time, can be sacrificed for the price advantage and lack of waiting. That’s the advantage that it’ll have over Scorpio (in which I’m anticipating it to be $500, which would also be perfect for 6 teraflops). 4k Blu Ray can always wait and come later in model updates. You’re acting like playing 4k movies is the end-all-be-all when it’s not and you’re forgetting about the fact that it’s a gaming device first and foremost and novelties can come later.

        • You think im alone in this opinion? Go to the official PS4 subreddit, its a fucking shitstorm over there because of how shit the pro is.

      • “No shit the pricing is this low. This doesnt do anything new except upscaled 4k for 4k monitors”

Wrong, both The Last of Us Remastered and The Elder Scrolls: Online are confirmed to be running at native 4k. “Not even 4k blu ray which the Xbox one SLIM HAS” A feature that it doesn’t even need that will come in later models. “Making it any more expensive than a regular ps4 is a slap in the face” A 2.25x power increase is definitely “a slap in the face”. Uh-huh. Sure.

    • Do you even know what a teraflop is, or are you just re-stating their marketing and adding the words “it’s enough” because you’re a dumbass fanboy? It’s just absolutely hilarious when you use that term, and it happens to be the one thing they said, and it’s a small piece of the pie. I can tell you don’t know shit about computing. Then again, that’s probably why you own a console in the first place and how you keep falling for this marketing BS. I find it funny how you don’t even realize it’s not in your own self-interest to be a fanboy.

      • Are you sure you’re not being butthurt because you’re the fanboy and not me? I know I’m making you go crazy with my OPINIONS but that doesn’t mean you stalk everything I say.

Do YOU know what a teraflop is? It’s not the end-all-be-all of hardware and that’s all Microsoft is marketing the game with. “it happens to be the one thing they said, and it’s a small piece of the pie” No it’s not, it’s a tiny piece of the pie that isn’t as important as the other GPU tasks. And like game development, PLEASE [ignorantly] enlighten me on your computing “knowledge”, instead of acting like a keyboard warrior. “I find it funny how you don’t even realize it’s not in your own self-interest to be a fanboy” You’re just acting pathetic now, seriously, stop talking to me. “Then again, that’s probably why you own a console in the first place and how you keep falling for this marketing BS” Even though you’re Tmartn “super excited” for the Scorpio even though all of the information is vague and they’re trying to sell the thing on teraflops alone and nothing else? Stupid fanboy.

“WHAT?! Dude you saw a video. A compressed video. You can’t tell shit about how it looks you goofball and a half” It doesn’t have to play at native 4k for me to notice the clear quality changes in resolution detail and anti-aliasing. The Pro uses an advanced super scaling that’s as good as the real thing.

  1. I don’t know which one to get the PlayStation Pro or psvr.. One of them i can get day one.. The other going to have to wait till beggining of next year :-/ God damn u Sony…

    • Meh PSVR is gunna be pretty disappointing in my perspective, I would go with a brand new console PS Pro, support 4k gaming, you’re probably gunna get bored of the PSVR and i honestly feel not many games will support it (i know a few titles are already announced for it, but I mean in the long-run), atleast with a new console you’re good for another 3-5 years or what not.

          • In terms of software, it kind of is. Most VR games look like small tech demos than full fledged games.

          • Most of the upcoming games that people think are demos, are full games. Theyve just only shown demos of the game, and people are assuming thats the full game.

          • demos as in games that have a good concept, but not something you will sit down and play for 1-2 hours every day.

          • well a game you only play occasionally isn’t a demo, its a game you only play occasionally. and That will ultimately be up to the player. And there are plenty of upcoming vr games with the potential for regular use. RE7, Ace Combat, RIGS, etc. and i just recently discovered a game called Onward on Vive that i would definitely play on a daily basis if i had a Vive and and a VR capable rig.

    • If you have a 4k tv, them youll just have to choose. If you dont already have one, then go with VR cause the pro will do very little for you

      • I wasn’t going to, i was just getting vr and Scorpio originally.. But seen as the pro is out well before the Scorpio I may as well have both.. I can’t wait till next year probably the end of it as well for the Scorpio, way too long away..

plus this way me and the other half will be able to play Ghost Recon Wildlands together on day one, cuz il have two ps4s when its launched..

Ur thinking about getting an xbox? U feeling OK? Lol

        • I was never a fanboy of anything bruh, I just don’t like the corporation that manufactures it. If I really want to stick to my principles by playing everything I can then I can sacrifice paying everything [mostly] used in order to have the best of both worlds. IMO these hardware upgrades are a huge step for console gaming and since they’re such big upgrades I think everyone will be happy, including me, even if I don’t find Xbox “exclusives” to be very good right now tbh. It doesn’t matter, there will always be something that will interest me. If Scorpio is $500 then that’s perfect pricing just like the Pro’s $400 pricing. Megatons. Alongside the NX coming early next year, gaming is in a fantastic place and I couldn’t be anymore happy to tell you the truth.

          • Really ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I’ve never got to experience it, what game did u play? I can’t wait to have some gangster shouting in my face and resident evil.. I pre ordered mine and I’m on wave 4 so I have to wait for four God damn deliveries..

          • I played Eve Valkyrie or whatever, it was a space game. Let me tell you, VR is 10x cooler when you actually use it than watching it. It was one of the coolest things I’ve experienced in video games lol. I would buy it if college wasn’t taking all my money

    • Realistically speaking, dont buy either right now. PS VR may just end up being a fad and most of its games look like Tech demo’s for the time being. PS4 pro is most likely gonna get a price drop next year to compete with Scorpio and in all honesty, the pro is hardly an upgrade that isnt something worth upgrading immediately imo.

      • I really don’t see this being a fad.. Will it get AAA titles as often as ps4 of corse not.. But I honestly think this is the start of something.. It will flourish in the horror genre..

as far as the Playstaion goes.. I’m not expecting it to be amazing, but it’s going to be a nice upgrade from the original ps4.. Obviously it won’t get used when the Scorpio is out, but at least the exclusives will look and play the best they can.. I’m defo picking up both, but I’ve decided to get the vr first then the plus in January..

        • I’m just worried about the games as far as Scorpio games. Does it mean more “exclusive” games will release or even less? Will it have any value? Why buy it over an NX?

          • I don’t think the new ps4 or xbox means anything for exclusive games, it won’t effect anything apart the picture and the the ps4 pro will improve the VR experience..

As far as the NX goes… Im buying the ps4 pro pretty much straight away and il be buying the xbox straight away but I can not put money into the NX till at least a couple of years in.. The only thing Nintendo is good for is exclusives and I can’t see their being enough of them in the first year to warrant the purchase…

I got my Wii U a few years in super cheap second hand when there was just enough exclusives to warrant the price.. N after that, it never got used again.. I feel the same thing will happen again this year, defo getting a second hand one.. I wouldn’t rush into buying into Nintendo day one, especially over another console…

  2. The PS4 Pro is going to be one of the biggest flops in modern gaming. Upscaled 4k, NO 4k blu ray video, weak specs, ugly design and it isnt fulfilling any product needs whatsoever, it is however trying to fill Sony’s wallet.

The Pro can barely compete with the Xbox One S, let alone the Scorpio. Xbox won this round.

          • They don’t need to, they’re obviously intending and prioritizing power over everything else. The most important thing is… are they going to bring MORE games thanks to the Scorpio (since there WILL be exclusive games for it, they’re coming, it’s a matter of when), or will the 5-6 month “exclusives” drought continue to be a problem?

    • You’ve got it completely wrong.

“Upscaled 4k” With a 4.2 teraflop GPU, 4k isn’t needed. It’s a matter of either 1080p or 1440p at 60FPS, whereas Scorpio will rarely do 4k/60FPS, in which was a complete utter lie made by Pennello. This doesn’t mean that the Pro doesn’t support 4k and it’ll never do native 4k. If PC’s can barely do 4k as a standard, what makes you think Scorpio will do 4k/60FPS?

“NO 4k blu ray video” On a GAMING console? Oh boo hoo. That can come later. Factually speaking it’s not a make nor break, and the Xbox One S does UHD, not pure 4k.

“weak specs” 4.2 teraflops isn’t “weak”. It’s affordable, which was needed, that alone has an advantage over the Scorpio at this time, that’s all the Pro needed.

“ugly design and it isnt fulfilling any product needs whatsoever, it is however trying to fill Sony’s wallet” In your opinion. As if the Scorpio will look any better. “The Pro can barely compete with the Xbox One S, let alone the Scorpio. Xbox won this round” LOL no. Like it or not that’s a bit of a fanboy claim.

      • Lol, I went to type something to respond to your goofy comment, then I realized who it was. But, I guess I’ll do one part, because oh boy I laughed reading it.

“You think 4.2 teraflops is “weak”? Lol, it’s what’s keeping me off of PC”

LOL WHAT?!?!?!?! Being cheap and powerful is keeping you off PC, you only like getting one of those? Alright man, makes tons of sense. Do some research before you spew such nonsense again.

        • “LOL WHAT?!?!?!?! Being cheap and powerful is keeping you off PC, you only like getting one of those? Alright man, makes tons of sense. Do some research before you spew such nonsense again”

LOL you of all people are telling me to do research? I can do whatever I want, but only your mentality would take an opinion so seriously. Stop being an idiot.

        • And to provide more context, and I really don’t see what was wrong with my original comment at all, I was hoping for a lengthier reply but, again, I was disappointed and got another reply with no context nor elaboration, I mean… WHAT RESEARCH SHOULD I EVEN DO?! What did you find funny? Oh wait… You’re always going to be reaching for insults and you’re always going to find ways to annoy me because you’re that much of a keyboard warrior.

4.2 teraflops on a $400 system and a 6 teraflop $500 are what’re keeping me off of PC, because why should I game on PC if I don’t like digital gaming and the games that are on it? I’ll just keep my laptop. The fact that codforever used the “4.2 teraflops is weak” card when it’s really not that much weaker than the Scorpio was ignorant if you ask me, because that’s not “weak” at all, anyone with a weak desktop would KILL for a 4.2 teraflop GPU, and it can perform many higher-end tasks than a PS4’s 1.84 teraflops could, such as higher anti-aliasing solutions like TXAA or SMAA and 1440p will be the new standard for both consoles. Now the NX is what everyone should really be worried about, because it won’t even outperform a base Xbox One, as good as the controller looks.

“FLOPS” is an acronym for floating-point operations per second, used to measure performance with “tera” as in 1 trillion FLOPS, and is not the end-all-be-all of graphics cards as much as shader units, memory bandwidth, and CUDA cores.

      • The ps4 pro will never do native 4k because it doesnt have the specs to do so.

        “Scorpio will rarely do 4k/60FPS”

Scorpio can do one or the other, while Sony cant do either except up scaling.

” “NO 4k blu ray video” On a GAMING console? Oh boo hoo.”

Its about overall value for the same price, which the xbox factually offers more than Sony. As an entertainment hub alone, xbox is better. You must not have been here when the DVD player or Blu ray player were selling PS2’s/PS3’s alone.

        “That can come later”

How do you know? Im pretty sure its a hardware capability.

        > “weak specs” 4.2 teraflops isn’t “weak”. It’s affordable, which was needed, that alone has an advantage over the Scorpio at this time

its weaker than the scorpio, no shit its going to be cheaper. Why would you even buy an upgraded console if you were looking for affordability? You would buy the base model instead. Like Microsoft said, upgraded consoles are simply a premium product and people looking to get a premium console would be willing to spend that type of cash on it.

“The Scorpio is being marketed by teraflops and teraflops alone. You do know that teraflops aren’t the end-all-be-all of GPU’s, right? Why didn’t Microsoft market the shader units, the memory bandwidth, and/or the CUDA cores?”

Maybe because it hasnt had an official reveal yet? The only reason they announced it so early was because they were scared of how powerful sonys console might be and were forced to announce it so xbox users know an upgraded xbox is coming. Looking at the specs now, Microsoft is probably laughing their asses off.

” Maybe because… it’s also “trying to fill Microsoft’s wallet”, by your logic?”

Except the difference between an Xbox one and Scorpio is far greater than the PS4 and the Pro. The pro is a much smaller hardware revision which in reality is nothing more than a cash grab. There is NOTHING impressive about the PS4 pro, especially since the xbox slim can already do most if not more of what it does despite being cheaper, sleeker and better looking.

” I don’t think it’s an ugly design nor a cash in at all whatsoever.”

Dont kid yourself, it looks like a ps4 stacked on top of another ps4. One of the most ridiculous designs of all time.

” That was a bit biased, especially with the Xbox One S and “Xbox won this round” bit. Especially since it’s the GAMES that matter, not just the hardware itself.”

I have never owned an xbox, while I have owned every PS console/handheld ever created, and yeah I was wrong. Xbox didnt just win this round, its been kicking PS4’s ass since 2014. Backwards compatibility, better GWG games, more stable network, cheaper price, cross buy with PC while PS4 has limited cloud save storage and crappy implementation, worse speeds, inferior network infrastructure, worse security, less features, no hosting for captured media, half as many free games for ps4 with lower quality/value, less improvements/updates to the service, etc.Party chat supports 12 players while on PS4 it only supports up to 8 and you can’t change your PSN, while you can change your gamertag.. They even denied EA access for absolutely NO reason. The brass balls Sony has to increase the price of PS plus while coincidentally having more maintenance and psn outages is outrageous. I’ve had enough of Sony’s bullshit and arrogance, and im hoping the Xbox catches up in sales with Scorpio so Sony is finally forced to step up their fucking game.

        • Xbox ain’t catching up in sales dude. You sound bitter for some odd reason. Go read digital Foundry on the ps4pro before you have another fit.

          • Ofcourse its almost impossible to catch up now because of how much Microsoft fucked up with the reveal of the xbox one, but player appreciation towards microsoft and buyers remorse with the PS4 are rapidly increasing these last few years and with the next generation of consoles, Microsoft have gotten a solid chance to make a comeback, not immediately, but eventually with the rate of how nice microsoft has been lately.

        • “The ps4 pro will never do native 4k because it doesnt have the specs to do so”

So The Last of Us isn’t confirmed to be NATIVE 4k e? Alongside native 4k for a few games it uses an advanced super scaling method that looks like the real thing without it affecting the hardware. Rise of the Tomb Raider is currently native 1440p and uses this I believe, and uses 3 modes. This is exactly how I wanted these iterative consoles to be, with the possibility of gamers being happy with consoles again. But, yes, the Pro does have native 4k support and some games WILL be native 4k, but both consoles won’t have it as a standard like PS4 with 1080p.

“Scorpio can do one or the other, while Pro cant do either except up scaling”

Prove it. 6 teraflop PC’s can barely do 4k/60FPS right now, what makes you think that it’ll be a standard for either of them? Whether or not both CAN do it then they won’t be 4k/60FPS, that was a complete utter lie, but I expected as much from Penello. I’m excited for the graphics in general with these consoles, whether it’s 1440p or 4k it doesn’t matter. Now no one has to worry about sub-1080p in general so this is a great thing for console gaming.

“Its about overall value for the same price, which the xbox factually offers more than Sony” That’s totally not a biased claim at all. Why’d you say “Xbox” then say “Sony”? That was weird. *The Xbox One S is $299 and the Pro is $399, they prioritized the price over novelties on a gaming console*. “As an entertainment hub alone, xbox is better” Totally not a fanboy claim, nor is that even a fact. It depends on what you want, but consoles aren’t even meant to be “entertainment hubs”, that’s just marketing nonsense. Gaming is the priority first and foremost and the pricing and the sooner-than-later release of the Pro is a good thing. “You must not have been here when the DVD player or Blu ray player were selling PS2’s/PS3’s alone” There are many factors that went into those two systems selling so well, not just a cheap $10 player. What about the GAMES, you know, the most important thing?

“How do you know? Im pretty sure its a hardware capability”

It could be both a hardware and software thing. There could always be more bundles or updated models that will come in the future. Everyone’s freaking out over this without thinking logically and it’s unfortunate that people are making a big deal out of something so small that WILL come later.

“its weaker than the scorpio, no shit its going to be cheaper” And people like things being cheaper, more affordable. I’m being objective here; the price advantage, not the hardware advantage, will be just as competitive for Microsoft as it was in 2013. That’s a game changer, the Scorpio may be $100-200 more expensive and who knows? Right now it’s marketed as an iterative Xbox One but it may be or become a 9th generation system. “Why would you even buy an upgraded console if you were looking for affordability?” Because they’re iterative, incremental upgrades, did you forget that this isn’t a new generation (unless Scorpio may be)? That can’t be a serious question. “You would buy the base model instead” Why? What if you’re a current PS4 owner who wants to be a part of it with the possibilities of 1440p being the standard for both (Scorpio will have quite a bit of 4k *native* games for sure)? In case you’re wondering, the PS4 hasn’t been almost doubling the competition this entire time because of the hardware difference alone, it’s because it has the more diverse games and the MOST games alongside the power difference. “Like Microsoft said, upgraded consoles are simply a premium product and people looking to get a premium console would be willing to spend that type of cash on it” Which is why having an affordable “premium” console helps, it’s Nintendo’s shtick with the NX (a 9th generation system mind you) and you don’t think that they want the pricing to be great next to the pure power increase? I predict $500, but by your logic, you seem willing to pay $600 or maybe even $700 and $800, and that’d just be absurd. You’ve got to admit that Sony already showing the PS4 Pro and releasing the console in 2 months at an affordable price was both clever and a game changer. No one knows for sure if the Scorpio will be successful.

“Maybe because it hasnt had an official reveal yet? The only reason they announced it so early was because they were scared of how powerful sonys console might be and were forced to announce it so xbox users know an upgraded xbox is coming” As in the PS4 Neo rumors allowed more competition to happen? You don’t say. All I’m saying is that it doesn’t need to be so vague, there’s no need to make excuses. “Looking at the specs now, Microsoft is probably laughing their asses off” Sort of, but not for the right reasons, you have Greenberg tweeting arrogant nonsense and other Microsoft Twitters gave jabs back and forth. It’s funny yet petty, they should be afraid of their competition using the price advantage against them again and they should be making adjustments to the logic surrounding their future marketing. “We may not be as affordable but here are the reasons why you should get the Scorpio next year”. Like it or not, the PS4 Pro’s announcement was pretty clever here, and they didn’t need it to be 5 or even 6 teraflops, it’s 4.2 teraflops, which is still pretty beefy and 1440p could still be the standard. Again, gamers might be happy with this generation again and now we don’t really have to worry about consoles being “weak” anymore regardless of the 1.8 teraflop difference, *this is good for everyone*.

“Except the difference between an Xbox one and Scorpio is far greater than the PS4 and the Pro” This is true, hence why it should just be a new generation, but that’s a fair point. “The pro is a much smaller hardware revision which in reality is nothing more than a cash grab” …but this is ridiculous and comes off as biased. It’s not a blatant “crash grab”, if you wanted to be more logical and technical, both, as corporations, are wanting “cash grabs”, so yes, it could be considered a cash grab. A small hardware revision is clever for Sony, and making the Scorpio more powerful was also clever for Microsoft. It’s about perspective. “There is NOTHING impressive about the PS4 pro” That’s pretty bold, and untrue. “There is NOTHING impressive about the PS4 pro, especially since the xbox slim can already do most if not more of what it does despite being cheaper” Like what? UHD and upscaled 4k “entertainment hub” nonsense that it doesn’t need right now? That’s just nonsensical and factually not true, that was such a reaching statement it’s not even funny. “sleeker” Than the PS4 Pro in height (in which has the same width as the Slim), but not sleeker than the PS4 Slim; the Scorpio might be even bigger unless they build off of the S as well. “better looking” That’s completely subjective, I don’t find it “ugly”, as if it matters and I don’t think the Xbox One S looks much better than the normal Xbox One let alone the PS4 Slim and Pro because it’s a normal white Xbox One that’s just sleeker. It’s a logical look, with no faceplates. How do we know that the Scorpio isn’t “ugly”, and who cares?

“I have never owned an xbox, while I have owned every PS console/handheld ever created, and yeah I was wrong. Xbox didnt just win this round” That’s ridiculous but I’ll let you continue. The PS4 has its own features that the Xbox One doesn’t have, so I don’t see how your impending comment makes the Xbox One “better” in any way, especailly when it’s “entertainment hub” things that’s completely split, conflicted, and not factual at all. “its been kicking PS4’s ass since 2014. Backwards compatibility” OH COME ON THAT’S RIDICULOUS. PS Now is totally not backwards compatibility, Xbox One allows it for free, yes, but it’s not native (and I’m pretty sure that PS Now isn’t either but it does stream the game native from a PS3, but both could be considered emulation). “better GWG games” It took them 3 years and Plus has been a bit meh so far this year… until that changed this month and also offered NBA 2K16, so I’m hoping that it’ll remain consistent. I’ll give you that one, they’ve stepped up their free game lineups. “more stable network” Now that’s definitely debatable, because PSN has improved so much in the past 2 years it’s not even funny. It rarely had issues without the hackers being around for so long (until this week), whereas Xbox Live has also had its fair share of issues. You can’t say for a fact that either one is “better”, because I’d say that they’re about the same right now. “cross buy with PC” That’s the best thing it has right now. “PS4 has limited cloud save storage and crappy implementation” Although it has nothing on unlimited cloud storage, this has also improved and will continue to improve over time, but that’s true. “worse speeds” Aren’t there issues with speeds on Xbox One as well? That definitely depends, because I see some people downloading games just fine. “inferior network infrastructure, worse security” Not a fact. “less features” Also not a fact, it’s very vague. Both consoles have their own unique things that the other doesn’t have *which is why you should buy either console, the games are the most important thing*. “no hosting for captured media” I don’t know what you’re talking about. None of these are “game breaking” or makes the Xbox One “better” in any way. “half as many free games for ps4 with lower quality/value” What are you talking about? Free to Play games? Like what? That’s pretty subjective too. “less improvements/updates to the service” Quality over quantity, obviously the Xbox One had many issues at launch that it needed monthly updates and the Preview Program, again, I don’t see the issue or why that makes the Xbox One “better” in the slightest. “Party chat supports 12 players while on PS4 it only supports up to 8” I can see this changing and I didn’t know that, still, 8 will do for now. “you can’t change your PSN, while you can change your gamertag..” A real issue, yes, but Xbox Live locks it behind a pay wall when PC offers it for free. “They even denied EA access for absolutely NO reason” It wasn’t “for absolutely NO reason”, they felt that it didn’t have value and wasn’t good http://www.gamespot.com/articles/sony-said-no-to-ps4-ea-access-program-because-its-/1100-6421390/, as if it’s a make or break; “PlayStation fans are more interested in subscription plans that give them access to a wide range of services”. I don’t feel like I’m missing out. Their point in that article was the fact that Plus and Games With Gold offer more than just games for over $5 a month, so EA Access is a gray are. “The brass balls Sony has to increase the price of PS plus while coincidentally having more maintenance and psn outages is outrageous” Lol prove it, because it has not been a problem for the past 2 years until this week where hackers came back. Some things that PSN has over XBL:

          -Controller lightbar
          -Controller touchpad
          -Controller Share button
          -Controller speaker
          -Controller motion controls
          -PlayStation Now
-Remote Play (i.e. on Vita and PC’s)
          -Share Play
          -Play Together
          -What’s New
          -Its own VR
-1080p gaming 90% of the time (until Scorpio)
-Folders (in which the Vita and PS4 had before Xbox One did atm)
          -Slick interface
          -Spotify
          -Base PS4 HDR

“I’ve had enough of Sony’s bullshit and arrogance, and im hoping the Xbox catches up in sales with Scorpio so Sony is finally forced to step up their fucking game” Lol, don’t act like Microsoft isn’t more arrogant, because they’re factually far worse than both Sony and Nintendo are. Is Sony’s behavior and decision-making”arrogant”? Yeah. Just recently their salty executive acted like the Big Gamers Small Talk podcast and always acts arrogant and stupid, so you’re factually wrong. How’s this for “arrogant”? I don’t see any Sony nor Nintendo executive act like this. https://twitter.com/aarongreenberg/status/773621825716707328 http://i.imgur.com/yVK8FeZ.png https://twitter.com/VentureBeat/status/773626701532114945 (retweeted this) So this ignorant nonsense is just simply not true and you’re overreacting. But yes, Scorpio should find ways to sell better to become better competition, but will it? It probably won’t help the Xbox One catch up to the PS4, as it’s holding almost a 200% (doubled) edge in sales right now, and I’d prefer the console with more games and the more diverse games lineup to be on top as well as to be the best competition, because the Xbox One needs to improve in this regard and that’s what I’m wanting to improve with the launch of the Scorpio. Does this mean that I’m never getting an Xbox One/Xbox One Scorpio as well as an NX? No, I’m just trying to bring objectivity and to educate people as to why I disagree with them about the Pro as much as I can (even though I see negatives, but the Scorpio could also have them), but if you ask me, the PS4 is just fine and I hope Microsoft does its own things that makes the Xbox One improve for ME, and that main thing is games over everything else that I have an issue with.

          • If someone insults my intelligence and makes ignorant claims then I’ll take whatever amount of time that it’ll take to get my point across. I’m here to be as objective and intelligent as possible with my opinions and arguments so I don’t mind how many lines of sentences and paragraphs that I use. I had a lot to say and I said it and will always be confident.

          • ” So The Last of Us isn’t confirmed to be NATIVE 4k e? Alongside native 4k for a few games it uses an advanced super scaling method that looks like the real thing without it affecting the hardware.”

Right, but TLOU was a last gen game, so it ought to be able to reach 4K native on the pro, also it will only be 30fps
This gen’s AAA games would never be able to hit 4K native on that system.

Tomb Raider is not native 4K, it is using the checkerboard method.

” Totally not a fanboy claim, nor is that even a fact. It depends on what you want, but consoles aren’t even meant to be “entertainment hubs”, that’s just marketing nonsense. ”

Stupidest thing I have ever heard. The # of people that regularly use Netflix, Blu Rays or other streaming services are higher than the amount of people on some of the popular games right now.

“There are many factors that went into those two systems selling so well, not just a cheap $10 player.”

At this point I have to ask you .. are you literally fucking stupid? A blu ray player alone in 2006 was between $800-1000 while a PS3 which came with one was 600 while DVD players were around $150 when the PS2 came out .. never go complete retard.

“I’m being objective here; the price advantage, not the hardware advantage, will be just as competitive for Microsoft as it was in 2013. That’s a game changer, the Scorpio may be $100-200 more expensive and who knows?”

The Pro vs Scorpio is like the X360 vs PS3, comes out a year earlier, weaker in specs, cheaper in price and STILL ends up getting outsold. Realistically speaking, the Scorpio will probably only cost around 400-500. If its 400 .. thats a wrap.

“Sort of, but not for the right reasons, you have Greenberg tweeting arrogant nonsense and other Microsoft Twitters gave jabs back and forth.”

They were taking jabs at how much the xbox SLIM can already do almost everything the pro can plus an UHD player, for $100 cheaper. Dont act like Sony didnt the same thing a couple years ago with the “how to share used games” bullshit. In fact these jabs only led to other companies improving themselves (i.e Microsoft removing DRM) so im not sure what the problem here is..

“It could be both a hardware and software thing. There could always be more bundles or updated models that will come in the future.”

Except its not a software thing, It’s not “just an update” there is a physical hardware component the the PS4 Pro doesn’t have that will allow it to run UHD. Dont talk about things you have no idea about.

“Like what? UHD and upscaled 4k “entertainment hub” nonsense that it doesn’t need right now? ”

Xbox slim already upscales games to 4k, has UHD, is cheaper. Again, nothing impressive about the pro whatsoever.

” OH COME ON THAT’S RIDICULOUS. PS Now is totally not backwards compatibility, Xbox One allows it for free, yes, but it’s not native (and I’m pretty sure that PS Now isn’t either but it does stream the game native from a PS3, but both could be considered emulation). ”

Did .. DId you just say PS now is the answer to backwards compatibility? Please dont make me laugh.

” “better GWG games” It took them 3 years and Plus has been a bit meh so far this year… until that changed this month and also offered NBA 2K16, so I’m hoping that it’ll remain consistent. I’ll give you that one, they’ve stepped up their free game lineups. ”

What? Xbox had triple AAA almost every month for the past 2 years, while NBA is the only notable triple A game in the past few years for Sony.

“half as many free games for ps4 with lower quality/value” What are you talking about? Free to Play games? Like what? That’s pretty subjective too.”

Xbox 360 games in GWG are given free to XB one users as well,

“” It wasn’t “for absolutely NO reason”, they felt that it didn’t have value and wasn’t good http://www.gamespot.com/articl…, as if it’s a make or break; ”

Thats the stupidest excuse of all time. They dont want competition with PS plus because that will just highlight how shit PS plus is as gaming service. Also, being able to play almost EVERY ea game for $5 a month is pretty massive.

            “-Controller lightbar
            -Controller touchpad
            -Controller Share button
            -Controller speaker
            -Controller motion controls
            -PlayStation Now
-Remote Play (i.e. on Vita and PC’s)
            -Share Play
            -Play Together
            -What’s New
            -Its own VR
-1080p gaming 90% of the time (until Scorpio)
-Folders (in which the Vita and PS4 had before Xbox One did atm)
            -Slick interface
            -Spotify
            -Base PS4 HDR”

First of all, Xbox one slim already has HDR, and secondly half of these are bad things. Who the fuck thinks a lightbar is a good thing? Does nothing but drain my controller 10x faster and i dont think I have ever used even once in 3 years. Same goes for the controller speaker, motion controls and the touchpad – all useless gimmicky features that do nothing but drain the controller. “Whats new” are you freaking serious? Xbox already has its counters to share play as well. The new Xbox interface is just as good, if not better than PS4’s.

” Lol, don’t act like Microsoft isn’t more arrogant”

Maybe you’re right, they are just being nice cause they’re losing the console war, but if thats what needs to happen to Sony so they stop being fucking stupid then god I hope the scorpio outsells the shit out of the pro.

“And FYI sony today just announced that mod tools are not coming to ps4, while they already exist on xbox one. Seems pretty arrogant to I’d prefer the console with more games and the more diverse games lineup to be on top as well as to be the best competition, because the Xbox One needs to improve in this regard”

Alright lets talk about this whole “PS4 STILL HAS BETTER GAMES” garbage you keep bringing up.

Uncharted 4 was the only notable PS4 exclusive in quite a while, and its only because of the single player which can easily be beaten in a weekend. And that series is over.

You can keep your No man’s sky/Street fighter 5 and other trash exclusives to yourself, they’re fucking garbage.

While Halo is undeniably the best arena shooter out there, FORZA is easily the best racing franchise of all time, and Gear s of war offers the best 3rd person PVP gameplay on any console.

Being a mostly MP guy (why im even on this site), i find next to no value in PS exclusives. Other than Uncharted 4’s 10 hour single player, they have all been trash and i dont care about single player games. So Xbox, has Sony beat in terms of multiplayer exclusives and a few Single player ones as well, had it not been for Uncharted 4 then i would think Xbox did have better single player games, like sunset overdrive and Quantum break.
The only exclusive ps4 had that affected me was getting the bo3 zombies maps early, and now that its over im not interested in any exclustivity it has with any game.

          • I can’t believe what I just read. Plus my previous reply that I had was deleted because Disqus glitches out on me so I had to completely rewrite this.

“Right, but TLOU was a last gen game, so it ought to be able to reach 4K native on the pro, also it will only be 30fps”

Nice excuse. The Last of Us, Elder Scrolls Online, and Mantis Burn Racing are the currentlyconfirmed native 4k games right now, and Mantis Burn Racing is 60FPS (the type of game is irrelevant). Again, these are the only confirmed once at the moment and possibly even more will be announced.

“This gen’s AAA games would never be able to hit 4K native on that system”

You said that so confidently as if you know. “Tomb Raider is not native 4K, it is using the checkerboard method” Did I say it’s native? Look, if most games won’t be native 2160p then I’ll take resolutions that are near it, like 1440p and 1800p, in which most games will be.

“Stupidest thing I have ever heard”

I bet you say that about everything and everyone. I don’t think anything beats your silly excuses.

“The # of people that regularly use Netflix, Blu Rays or other streaming services are higher than the amount of people on some of the popular games right now”

            Prove it.

“At this point I have to ask you .. are you literally fucking stupid? A blu ray player alone in 2006 was between $800-1000 while a PS3 which came with one was 600 while DVD players were around $150 when the PS2 came out .. never go complete retard”

I see… So you misinterpreted my comment. When I was referring to the “$10” price I was referring to the PS4, so let’s not go twisting my arguments now. Never question my intelligence, that was completely and utterly insulting.

“The Pro vs Scorpio is like the X360 vs PS3, comes out a year earlier, weaker in specs, cheaper in price and STILL ends up getting outsold”

LOL coming from the guy who questioned my intelligence? The PS4 has over a 20 million unit lead. Since when have consoles sold well just because they have significantly better hardware and only so? PS2, one of my favorite consoles, prevailed because it had 3,874 games and was a good DVD player (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_2_games 2,466 games here), whereas the Xbox and Gamecube got completely annihilated.

“Realistically speaking, the Scorpio will probably only cost around 400-500. If its 400 .. thats a wrap”

Even though you questioned the Pro’s price point and that’s why we’ve gotten to this point? You are being a complete utter hypocrite here. Will it be a wrap, objectively speaking? No, because unless it magically got more games out of the blue, the Scorpio will never make the Xbox One catch up to the PS4. And who knows? It may be a completely new console altogether.

“They were taking jabs at how much the xbox SLIM can already do almost everything the pro can plus an UHD player, for $100 cheaper”

Except for the fact that it’s hugely misleading because the only things noteworthy about the slim are UHD Blu Rays with 4k upscaling and HDR, and the PS4 isn’t even competing with the Slim.

“Dont act like Sony didnt the same thing a couple years ago with the “how to share used games” bullshit”

Lol… You can’t compare the two. Name one jab that Sony’s made to Microsoft this entire generation (the last 3 years) that’s comparable to the arrogance of Xbox executives. You think that’s the only example? Oh no, not at all, they’ve been doing this for years. I don’t know of anything Nintendo’s done either except Reggie Fils-Aime, i.e. calling the Xbox and PlayStation competition a “red ocean” fairly recently.

“In fact these jabs only led to other companies improving themselves (i.e Microsoft removing DRM) so im not sure what the problem here is..”

You seriously think that’s the reason why Microsoft changed their policies? Microsoft, like any other corporation, only cares about money. They saw the pre-order numbers and adjusted accordingly. The Xbox brand was about to tank and completely die. The problem is the fact that they’re misleading people, as well as a lack of professionalism. Greenberg’s not the only one who does it – Phil Spencer doesn’t FYI – Mike Ybarra, Albert Penello, and Major Nelson all do it (although I don’t think Hyrb is an executive).

“Except its not a software thing, It’s not “just an update” there is a physical hardware component the the PS4 Pro doesn’t have that will allow it to run UHD. There’s a physical reading head and supporting hardware inside the disk drive that reads the disks that go in. DVD, BR, and 4K BR all have different reading hardware. A software patch won’t be able to add in support for it, the additional hardware is required”

‘or updated models’ *Sigh* …duh. You don’t need to hold my hand, you’re twisting my words again, they can definitely update the models with UHD Blu Rays in the future if fans really want it, it’s just not a priority for obvious, good reasons.

“Dont talk about things you have no idea about”

            Oh shut up.

“Xbox slim already upscales games to 4k, has UHD, is cheaper. Again, nothing impressive about the pro whatsoever”

*How are those things even remotely advantages over the Pro*?! They’re not. Elaborate, because the Pro is VERY impressive. Again, the Pro is not competing with the Xbox One S, and you’re seriously using the “cheaper” card? *The PS4 Pro has a new GPU*. Plus I’m not sure about what’s so impressive and/or special about a $10-15 Blu Ray player, because that’s the only thing you’ve listed and boasted about. “Don’t talk about things you have no idea about”.

“Did .. DId you just say PS now is the answer to backwards compatibility? Please dont make me laugh”

Yes… *Because it’s a fact*. How is it not? It’s well-known that it’s Sony’s answer to it, and it fits the definition perfectly (PS2onPS4 could be considered backwards compatibility as well, nor is backwards compatibility defined as . Don’t act like Xbox One backwards compatibility is fully native either, because it isn’t. Speaking objectively and unbiased, neither consoles have fully native backwards compatibility because it requires the native architecture/hardware, which is the reason why Nintendo has always had fully native backwards compatibility with their consoles. Xbox One and PS2onPS4 use emulation and PlayStation Now uses streaming. Xbox One’s backwards compatibility announcement was rather misleading because they acted like it’s fully native when it’s objectively not.

“What? Xbox had triple AAA almost every month for the past 2 years, while NBA is the only notable triple A game in the past few years for Sony”

Really, now? So Lords of the Fallen, Injustice, and Infamous First Light aren’t AAA’s and/or have AAA budgets? ‘Xbox had triple AAA almost every month for the past 2 years’ WHAT?! Lol! Prove it. Wow, talk about ignorance. GWG’s lineups mostly sucked before this year. Here, since you’re not elaborating nor giving evidence, I will; in 2014 Xbox One’s only AAA’s were Halo Spartan Assault, Crimson Dragon, and D4. 2015’s were ACIV, MGSV Ground Zeros, Tomb Raider DE, and Thief. PS4’s 2014 AAA games were Strider and Injustice. 2015’s was Infamous First Light, MGSV Ground Zeros, Styx Master of Shadows, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, and King’s Quest. So please tell me about this nonsensical lie over Xbox having a ‘AAA almost every month for the past 2 years’.

“Xbox 360 games in GWG are given free to XB one users as well”

Which is a commendable feature because it utilizes backwards compatibility, but I can do it for all of the Xbox and PlayStation games anyway, even if I don’t own the systems. But it is nice.

“Thats the stupidest excuse of all time”

Then what do you call what you’ve been spewing this entire time?

“They dont want competition with PS plus because that will just highlight how shit PS plus is as gaming service. Also, being able to play almost EVERY ea game for $5 a month is pretty massive”

Plus is NOT “crap”. Even though it’s been $10 less than GWG until this month, it has had about just as many if not more AAA games and the discounts are also great and fairly frequent, so I’d love to hear your excuse as to why EA Access is any “better’, because it only offers EA Games, half of which are copy and paste Sports titles. Yeah… PS4 doesn’t need it. Plus it’s quite a bit of money to pay for both GWG and Access.

“First of all, Xbox one slim already has HDR”

*facepalm* Obviously you didn’t get the point. The BASE PS4 has HDR, the base Xbox One does not, rendering Xbox One S less ‘special’ and/or ‘impressive’.

“secondly half of these are bad things”

Oh boy, this should be good. Subjective features in which their existence is for the concept of having options are “bad”. Got it, what a genius, objective outlook.

“Who the fuck thinks a lightbar is a good thing? Does nothing but drain my controller 10x faster and i dont think I have ever used even once in 3 years. Same goes for the controller speaker, motion controls and the touchpad – all useless gimmicky features that do nothing but drain the controller”

I do? And it’s not the only reason why it drains the controller battery, there are various reasons, as if the life of a battery is a big game-breaking deal. Last time I checked it’s everything as a whole such as the light bar, touchpad, and speakers; that wears the battery down and loopholes can help extend battery life if anyone needed it. Look, if anyone has a genuine issue with the PS4’s battery life, just get a Venom battery pack, they vary in price, but I’ll just say that they’re around $20, the same as an Xbox One battery pack. It’s not quite Xbox One’s (as if it matters) but it’s still a huge difference. Me? I don’t have one because I don’t find it to be a big deal at all, and I’ll take 8-hour lithium batteries over the severely outdated AA’s that the Xbox One uses (lol, I laughed when I first heard about that, what a joke). ‘all useless gimmicky features that do nothing but drain the controller’? What an ignorant, hugely subjective statement. The features are objectively not “useless” because the entire point of a feature is to have options.

“are you freaking serious? Xbox already has its counters to share play as well”

Xbox One has a Share Play counter? Oh really? Nothing beats PS4’s Share Play.

“The new Xbox interface is just as good, if not better than PS4’s”

HA! Don’t make me laugh. The PS4 interface is still significantly better than Xbox One’s right now and hopefully the Scorpio changes that. And guess what Xbox One’s interface copied? XrossMediaBar (XMB), PlayStation’s.

“Maybe you’re right, they are just being nice cause they’re losing the console war, but if thats what needs to happen to Sony so they stop being fucking stupid then god I hope the scorpio outsells the shit out of the pro”

If you seriously think that the Scorpio will outsell the Pro, then you will be severely disappointed. You’re overhyping the thing big time and it’s your own fault. But Sony definitely had some pretty negative news this week and it needs to change. And what do you mean that Microsoft “are just being nice”? They’ve been more arrogant than everyone else, and their behavior *needs* to change.

“Alright lets talk about this whole “PS4 STILL HAS BETTER GAMES” garbage you keep bringing up”

Alright. Let’s. Even though Sony has significantly more first party worldwide studios and objectively *more* exclusive games. If you’re just going to talk about quality here, then that’s irrelevant because quality is subjective, but quantity is not. I’ve read your first couple of lines already and all I can say is that you’re acting pretty pathetic. Coming off of your tone, you seem to not educate yourself well on what exclusives are coming out.

“Uncharted 4 was the only notable PS4 exclusive in quite a while, and its only because of the single player which can easily be beaten in a weekend. And that series is over”

I didn’t buy it for a multitude of reasons. But it can’t be beaten in a weekend unless you spend a long time gaming, because its story is at least 15 hours and nearly 30 hours for the Platinum, plus you’re completely leaving out its Multiplayer component. Whether you like it or not is highly subjective.

“You can keep your No man’s sky/Street fighter 5 and other trash exclusives to yourself, they’re fucking garbage”

They’re not even fully exclusive so okay, even though that’s a severely ignorant, subjective claim. Street Fighter V is significantly better than No Man’s Sky in regards to reception but I haven’t played it yet nor do I think I will anytime soon. These are just 2 exclusives, so let’s see what else you [subjectively] think.

“While Halo is undeniably the best arena shooter out there, FORZA is easily the best racing franchise of all time, and Gear s of war offers the best 3rd person PVP gameplay on any console”

Highly subjective claims. One could argue that Quake, Unreal, etc. are “undeniably the best arena shooter out there”, or that Gran Turismo “is easily the beast racing franchise of all time”. Say what you want about Driveclub but it’s become a solid racing game. As for Gears of War I don’t see the big deal surrounding it, I found it to be heavily generic and Uncharted’s gameplay to be smoother myself. But whatever, as I stated, it’s highly subjective, but since that’s mainly all Xbox has had for along time now (and that *needs* to change), I’ll leave your opinion because it’s all about preference in this regard.

“Other than Uncharted 4’s 10 hour single player, they have all been trash and i dont care about single player games”

Then our entire conversation is irrelevant and you can’t really speak about exclusives if you don’t care about them. Exclusive games are the most important thing about a console and they’re the reason why they sell so much, that’s just a fact. As for MP games, I render them useless, I’m like you in regards to MP; I only dabble in MP games, I don’t consider myself to be very big on MP gaming and games that only have MP components are a complete utter disease to this industry, that’s just a fact.

“o Xbox, has Sony beat in terms of multiplayer exclusives and a few Single player ones as well, had it not been for Uncharted 4 then i would think Xbox did have better single player games, like sunset overdrive and Quantum break”

Wait… hold the phone, you said that you don’t care about SP games and then you go and mention Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break? Now I KNOW that you don’t educate yourself. MP is irrelevant to me, so speaking about SP games, Sony has the most of them and they are widely considered to be the best, and I’m not talking about Naughty Dog games, I don’t even like them as much as everyone else does. I’m speaking in-general; Xbox One’s “exclusives” have been very disappointing (especially with the severe overhype of Halo 5) and PS4 has had some gems like Bloodborne. Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break are alright but they have nothing on PlayStation exclusives like Bloodborne or Ratchet and Clank. You can have any opinion you want, but in terms of quantification, PlayStation is irrefutably the best. Oh, and screw ReCore.

      • You sir, should stop talking. There are no “CUDA Cores” on consoles. They use AMD GPUs, which do not have CUDA. Also, Scorpio is likely going to win because from all rumours it will have ZEN. And we should all know that the CPU performance IS a bottleneck on current consoles, and a small overclock won’t fix that. Simple things like menu navigation, or changing my music while gaming take way too long on my PS4, which are all CPU tasks. So, if Xbox can address this properly they do have a significant advantage, because that may seem small but it affects daily usability and perceived performance

        • “You sir, should stop talking”

I’ll say and do whatever I want, I won’t listen to you.

“There are no “CUDA Cores” on consoles”

Whether there are or not it doesn’t matter, I listed it as an example. Nothing else. I know it’s pretty much exclusive to Nvidia cards. You can substitute it for texture mapping units or some other function if you want. Whatever. Point is is that GPU’s aren’t all about teraflops and they’re really not even extremely important in the grand scheme of things.

“Also, Scorpio is likely going to win because from all rumours it will have ZEN”

In which is just that… rumors that have little evidence and we’ll see, because rumor has it that the Zen CPU won’t even come out until 2018 (http://techfrag.com/2016/09/12/xbox-scorpio-not-likely-feature-amd-zen-core/), so Zen must be coming out early for the Scorpio, right? /s Good luck with it being even remotely affordable if it uses Zen (it wouldn’t catch up to the PS4 at all that’s for sure). Hardware alone doesn’t sell consoles, that’s just a fact.

“And we should all know that the CPU performance IS a bottleneck on current consoles, and a small overclock won’t fix that”

Well a “small overclock” is better than nothing, and I’d love to see your reasoning as to why a jump from 1.6 GHz to 2.1 GHz is “small”, I think it’s just fine. If you’ve been paying attention you’d understand the fact that the PS4 has had a downclocked CPU this entire time, it never even lived up to its full potential, so we don’t know what it means for the Pro, and it’s ignorant to speculate about things that we know nothing about. The whole point of the Pro is to be an upgrade and to seem like an upgrade to the consumers, whereas the Scorpio feels like an all-new console. The Pro doesn’t need a new CPU because it’s an upgrade.

“Simple things like menu navigation, or changing my music while gaming take way too long on my PS4, which are all CPU tasks”

Duh, it’s obvious that those things are CPU tasks, and no, the PS4’s UI is not slow at all, especially when the Pro comes out. It’s significantly faster than doing it on Xbox One right now, that’s for sure. If one thing needed to get addressed it’d be Xbox One’s UI right now.

          • Okay. here we go…

First: CUDA is completely exclusive to NVidia, not pretty much. moving on from that minor thing, TFlops are actually fairly important. They don’t mean everything (e.g. CUs, bus bandwidth can make a difference in gaming workloads more than raw compute), but are definitely a MAJOR indicator of performance, and definitely is an important metric in the grand scheme of things.

Second: “rumours” are exactly that. But that is everything we have to run on with scorpio right now, so that’s what we will have to use. I tried opening your article, and the link was broken. However, I can say that AMD themselves has been saying for some time that their CPUs are going to be released late this year, and start shipping Q1 2017. I don’t care enough to link anything, google it if you don’t believe me. I’m not saying Scorpio WILL have Zen, but it should if they’re delaying release until after AMD starts selling to consumers. Keep in mind they are already in production, and have even released benchmarks (8 core, 16T Zen vs 6800K if I recall correctly in blender, very similar IPC). If that is the case, Zen will make a huge difference. As for affordability, the R&D is already done. The fact is if AMD is going to sell units, they have to be competitive with intel, meaning prices will have to be reasonable to compete. So that should be a non-issue.

Third: That is a small overclock. As someone who actually build PCs on a weekly basis (ish), most overclocks are at least 1 GHz over stock. But, more importantly, I am quite aware that the PS4 has a “throttled” CPU. Not underclocked, as this is a custom chip, and the speed it runs at is considered stock as there is no other frequency cited as “stock”, but rather it had cores disabled to developers. Even with an OC and these “made available” (the latter of which may or may not happen), the point is even the GPU upgrade won’t make a difference to the many CPU bound issues that I will again have to discuss below.

Fourth: Yes, that is obvious, but given your large error previously I was unaware (and still am) about your level of knowledge about these things. Also yes, the UI is slow. Maybe you live in a perfect house where your PS4 is magically better than mine and all my friends, but all of us have noticeable delays navigating menus, changing music, switching between apps, etc. This is not acceptable on a device of this cost in 2016. I don’t care about if the Xbox does or does not do this as well since I have not verified this, and don’t speak about things I know nothing about, and also the PS4 pro will be competing with scorpio, and that’s what I am focusing on. And again, linking back to my points about Zen, with that significantly higher IPC (and lower TDP related to a die shrink and greater distribution of transitors FOR EQUIVALENT PERFORMANCE, if they put in a better CPU the TDP could be higher again), Xbox’s Scorpio should allow for reduction in all of these load/wait times, and that is why the PS4 pro will be worse.

Do with this what you must.

    • Sony made the right choice. You can’t see the difference between 4K and 1080p unless you put your head right next to the display.

Your precious Scorpio will run at 4K Medium at 60 FPS.

Our PS4 Pro will be something like 1800p upscaled to 4K Ultra settings at 60FPS.

    • I never understood the whole “console war” thing. I own an XB1, have never owned a PS4, but I don’t see a reason to get online and talk shit about one system over the other. Why do you find it necessary to tell strangers how superior one thing is over another? Seems like you need to find a hobby.

      • Im not starting a console war, im just expressing my disappointment in sony when their primary competitor is offering much, much more. I want sony to improve thats why I complain, faboyishly accepting everything Sony does does lead to any changes.

Why do you think we’re getting all 16 maps in COD4 rather than just 10? Because people complained loud enough ..

          • I don’t do digital games so I don’t need PC gaming, it’s just a side thing for me. The Pro is what’s keeping me off of mid-range PC gaming (and before someone overreacts the keyword here is “ME”).

          • For the PS4 Pro? There’s nothing slight nor overpriced about it lol, especially at $400. That’s pretty cheap.

          • The changes are minor imo. Slight graphically improvements that only few people will notice for the same price as the og console at launch. Might as well save a few hundred bucks and get a PS4. Same experience pretty much

    • The ps4 pro can flop so hard but PlayStation WILL STILL BE AHEAD OF XBOX IN SALES you think PS4 is worried about xbox? XBOX WONT EVEN SHOW SALES!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    • I think it is amazing…how people like yourself have the audacity to write such things about a console that just got announced…To write about Sony’s purpose as if that is the only reason being, to fill their wallet. In the right mindset, this shit is so vague. Yeah, the design looks funny and that we can all agree on ’cause it is coherent. “Xbox won this round” Shut the fuck up with that dumb shit. Xbox Scorpio is not even out yet. Is like you jump from one ledge to land on the other side of the ledge, without realizing that they are 10 feet apart from each other. Then you got the blind herd of sheeple that follow along and give in to this sorcery. Anyways, I don’t mean to be rude, just being real with ya.

      • I’m just saying wait till both are physically released, if ya’ll not able to buy both then watch reviews and gameplay and sh*t.
We’ll learn more in upcoming months for sure, patience.

    • You’re a moron if you think Scorpio can do native 4k. GTX 1080 can’t even do 60fps at 4k, so how’s the Scorpio going to do that?

  3. I’m glad all these Cod titles will take advantage of the PS4 Pro hardware.
I wouldn’t say they’re adding “support” for it though. They’re just patching these titles so to run better and smoother on the Pro. Every other pre-existing game that won’t be updated for the Pro will run no problem on it, the only difference is that it will run just as if it was running on the PS4 base model. No extra visual / graphical quality.
Otherwise it would be like saying that PS4 Pro will only have a handful of available titles at launch and it would be like decimating the pretty large content library PS4 currently has available. They said they won’t fragment titles between the two systems. The Pro is actually an upgrade of the base PS4 so they’ll both play the same games. But more and more titles will start to run way better on the Pro by using its refreshed hardware.
I hope as many recent games as possible will get patched.

    • In your opinion. I think it’s fine and pretty cool, what’s wrong with it? It was the logical choice for height rather than making it wider.

        • 6 day-old post. Whatever. No, the Slim/Pro don’t look worse than the Xbox One, and maybe even the Xbox One S (especially with that… thing on the bottom).Everyone just thinks it looks pretty just because it’s white and shiny. Just wait until you see the custom Slims/Pros, I mean, look at the fanmade Spiderman one.

  4. People told me the Xbox one was ugly. This is what you get the ps4 neo beats uglyness in every way possible it looks like a nasty piece of tech

    • I don’t see anything wrong with it, I prefer it to the base Xbox One design. It’s actually kind of cool. Anyway, it’s the games that matter, and that’s the only thing holding me off the Scorpio right now. There just aren’t as many as there would be on a PS4 Pro and NX.

  5. I hate console wars with a passion, but I need to get this off my chest, WHY DID SONY DO THIS?

If you measure success by units sold, Sony already won this round. MS even conceded that Sony won this round. MS didn’t even want to get into this mid-gen upgrade BS, but Sony forced them to do Scorpio next year to keep up.

Now you just gave Phil Spencer the opportunity to do what he’s always wanted, to make a console on his own.

It’s like Sony tried going for the killshot, when (IMO) they should have just ran out the clock for the rest of this round instead… *shrugs*

    • Lets not forget how many units they actually got out their allready.. so they allready have an advantage.. Plus I think their banking on vr… il have both when they come out, n Im going to have to chose to play on a powerfull xbox Scorpio and it looking amazing or play on a 200 inch virtual screen on my ps4… I pre ordered my VR ages ago and I’m on wave 4, meaning I’m going to have to wait for the 4th delivery before I get it… I think its looking good for both consoles imo… By the end of the gen I don’t think theirs going to be a true “winner”

  6. Quick question. Anyone with both (PS4 & X1) and have needed to get customer service, for both. Tell me your experiences, for both.

    • I don’t know about playstation maybe that’s a good thing cuz ive never needed to use them.. But xbox customer service is amazing… My controller broke I sent it away they fixed it free of charge and kept me informed of what was happening and was super quick to get it back to me.. Plus I’ve had problems logging in before n they were very helpful and sorted it just like that…

Plus the place where I pre ordered my xbox one from closed down and a week away from the xbox one launch and every where was sold out, but they made sure I got mine day one..

  7. Yup, called it! New OLED 4K TV, PS4 Pro, and Call of Duty in the caveman section! Guess who’s calling The Replacer…This guy right here!!

  8. At the end of the conference, he said they would be converting the gameplay of the games to 4k so people with the 4k displays can watch them, does anyone know where it is?
