  • I just want to play, I don’t want to go through all the effort of reading into every combat rig, traits or whatever etc.. hopefully I won’t be forced into reading 1000 different things on beta launch.
+ Does anyone know the purpose of these videos? They’re literally pointless, if these are suppose to be hyping us up, idek, that’s ridiculous.

I’m really looking forward to this game but the advertising for this beta or all these tutorial/teaser videos being given to us are really weak and pointless.

    • djml9

Its no different from reading through perks. Also, all the payloads and traits are known. Read them ahead of time.

    • DEMOLITION12

      negative kd spotted

      • lol bruh

      • BradyAlucard

Stats are irrelevant (inb4 ‘negative kd spotted’).

        • DEMOLITION12

          hello negative kd noobie

          • BradyAlucard

Wow, so negative, even though you’ve never seen my stats! As if they matter.

      • I have a 1.84 KD on bo3, idk if you call that good tho…

        • BradyAlucard

          It shouldn’t matter.

          • Thanks dude

          • BradyAlucard

No problem, I can’t stand the notion that Multiplayer games require ‘skill’, because competitive environments are just not fun.

          • I’m not a fan of competitive, like to have fun.

        • DEMOLITION12

          its alright

    • It is to build hype. It’s to inform those who are uninformed about the game how it works. It’s to give die hard fans more content before launch. It’s an advertisement, a tutorial, a marketing tool. It’s not too hard to figure out.

      • And you won’t be informed of all that when playing the game for the first time? I’ve just literally said it’s advertising, you’ve repeated me.

  • Bob Saget

    so awful

    • Fegasaruasㅤ

      I agree.

  • The Gaming Revolution

This game is just Black Ops 3 on steroids

    • Former

Actually, I’ve heard the game plays a bit slower than Bo3 and the rigs aren’t as OP as Bo3’s specialists. If anything, Bo3 is IW on steroids.

      • lunator100hd .

Most ppl say that IW is faster.

        • Former

Won’t know until we play it, will we?

          • lunator100hd .

Yeah, 2 more days untill we will be able to have our own opinions.

      • BradyAlucard

BO3 Specialists are not overpowered. They do what they’re supposed to do and there isn’t one that’s more ridiculous than the other. I don’t even understand the notion that players can’t stand getting killed by them. It’s one death, from someone who earned it no matter how ‘good’ or ‘bad’ they are (as if that matters).

        • Former

We’ve been through this before dude. Specialists don’t belong in CoD and I’m pretty certain the majority of players (especially competitive) wants them gone. Nobody enjoys getting Gravity Spiked by a kid going 4-15. They were only added to the game so noobs could feel good about themselves after getting shit on the entire match. They’re worse than care packages.

          • BradyAlucard

So Ruin is your only problem? A death that happens 1-2 times per game depending on the amount of players that use it *when they’ve earned it*. I’ll argue that Specialists DO belong in Call of Duty as long as they’re handled like they were in Black Ops 3, in which Infinity Ward’s Rigs seem to be. I guess it’s all a matter of perspective, I just respectfully disagree man.

          • Former

Ruin my only problem? Lol nice try. That’s one example of many, kiddo. There are a handful that take little to no effort in order to kill someone. Again, we’ve been through this. Not sure why you’re digging up buried topics with me.

        • Because it’s a death that shouldn’t happen and there is no way of avoiding it, no fight, no say. I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to break everything in my room because I got War Machine spammed by some cuck. It’s so rage inducing.

          • BradyAlucard

I’ll argue that the death *should* happen, though, because no matter what kind of player it is, they earned that Specialist regardless almost as much as a player earns their killstreaks. It can be rage inducing if you see it that way, but what if you saved your Specialist for those kind of encounters (if you care enough to wait)? It’s all about perspective, and I liked the Specialists in BO3. I didn’t think that they were as broken as they could have been.

But it’s all a matter of opinion, I just simply disagree and can’t wait to see what the Rigs entail.

          • What I mean by that death shouldn’t happen, I mean like there is fighting it. It’s just a free kill. At least with everything else in the past Call of Duty games, you can fight it or try to counter it. I don’t really have a problem with specialists, i think they are actually really cool but something about being rewarded for no reason and then getting a free kill just bugs me.

          • BradyAlucard

I think the philosophy that *everybody* earns it at a timed rate is better than nothing, and I don’t believe that said reward is for no reason. I don’t think that they’re too easy to use either, because it depends on the weapon/ability, i.e. the range of the Ruin, Spectre, and Firebreak have limited range for example whereas the others have practically unlimited range, and weapons like the Annihilator and Sparrow require more aim than the others. I think Treyarch did a great job with them and I’ve always loved the idea.

          • I think Firebreak is easily the most easy one to use honestly. The weapons i think that are somewhat difficult to use are the sparrow and tempest

          • BradyAlucard

They’re fun, which is the reason why I think the Specialists were a great idea and a fresh change to the series. The Firebreak is pretty strong and it’s one of my favorite Specialists, but thankfully it has limited range.

          • jordanxbrookes

Every time someone John Cena Super Slams me around a corner I lose my sanity.

      • Qaotik

This isn’t like Destiny were supers were broken. It is just as easy to get kills with a specialist as it is to kill one.

        • Former

Lol what? You’re plain ignorant if you think killing a guy slamming down Gravity Spikes from 15 feet in the air is “easy.” There’s literally no time to react, especially since the blast goes around walls. Not to mention getting Heat Waved which turns you into Helen Keller. Kinetic Armor which makes the guy a bullet sponge. Would you like me to go on?

          • Qaotik

It’s not a secret that kills are easier to obtain, but you aren’t invulnerable. Kills takes only a few frames, so it’s not hard to shoot 3 bullets into a guy and walk away. Hell, just jump out of the way of the gravity spikes since they have little vertical range. Plus, it is a one time use ability, the grenade launcher can kill way more people. Even all those specialists you listed have counters. Kinetic armor? Shoot the head or use a shotgun. Heat wave? Jump, crouch, be unpredictable. May I go on?

Play against Destiny supers, and then come talk to me. There are worse things than specialists.

          • Former

Lmao. Again, your mindset on how to avoid specialists is highly impractical and ridiculous. The only way you’ll survive against Heat Wave or Kinetic is if the guy using it is complete and utter shit at the game. It isn’t hard to get kills when the enemy is a fucking statue, nor when you have double the enemy’s health. Also, I don’t give a shit about Destiny, and comparing Bo3 to it isn’t helping the argument that specialists are cancer to CoD.

I guess your next reply will be defending Active Camo. “Hurr durr it’s ez 2 kill sum1 invizible! “

          • Qaotik

Specialists only give you one benefit, power, health, or mobility. You aren’t getting a combination of the 3. Look at the gravity spikes, all you get is the ability to kill people in a radius for a one time use. That’s all, you don’t gain damage resistance during the animation, you have to commit to the direction in which you want to use them or else you can fall off a map, nothing but raw damage. Kinetic armor, all you get is damage resistance against bullet damage to anywhere but the head. See where I’m getting that?

Just because one guy can use an ability better than another doesn’t make the weakness less prevalent. What’s the difference between a good player slamming into the ground from 15 feet from a bad one? You might get more kills, but I can still kill you mid air. Even you didn’t want to use your own gun, why not your own specialist as well? If my options aren’t viable, then this discussion wouldn’t exist because everyone would know that.

And yes, I did mention Destiny because both are activision games that use identical specialist system, except Destiny has abilities that are way more powerful than gravity spikes. And yes, invisibility is balance because I have better options. Why would I waste several minutes to get an ability that lasts a few seconds and does not protect you from thermal or VSAT when the purifier can kill everything?

          • Former

I do see what you’re getting at. Treyarch tried to make specialists as balanced as possible, which they’ve somewhat achieved after dozens of patches. However, the very existence of specialists, balanced or not, is the issue. There is no fun in dying to someone who’s worse than you at the game solely because they “earned” a super power. Maybe that’s your idea of fun, but not mine.

In an FPS game, there should be as little randomness as possible, which is why specialists were a shitty idea. If you’re a good player, you don’t need a super ability/weapon to go on long gun streaks and stay alive. Specialists, enhanced aim assist, care packages that you can re-roll: all of these things were brought to CoD to cater towards the average and below average players and ultimately piss off the players who long for balance and consistency.

          • Qaotik

I think differently. I believe that they add a different dynamic to the game. They create those “hero” moments when you slam down on a rejack or when you shut down a scythe. Plus, they can help increase the pace of the game. I understand that they can be frustrating at times, but I can think of worse. Namely death streaks.

          • Former

Yeah, they’re definitely fun to use sometimes, but they’re more annoying to die to than they are fun to kill with, which is why they should go. I’d rather every engagement be gun-on-gun, where the better player prospers (most of the time).

          • BradyAlucard

That player earned those Gravity Spikes and you deserved to lose the gunfight if you’re going to be in his vicinity.

          • Former

No he didn’t earn anything, in case you forgot the fact that your bar goes up over time. “Lose the gunfight”?? What gunfight? He’s slamming spikes on the ground? Where is his gun? Please use your brain before replying back.

          • BradyAlucard

The fact that the said bar “goes up over time” alone proves my point; every player gets it and therefore every player earned it, and time isn’t even the only factor. Deathstreaks and Support killstreaks are somewhat similar but not the exact same (especially deathstreaks because they occurred after every death from a consecutive streak of said deaths and support killstreaks were genuinely broken [yet fun] with things like Stealth Bombers, which can’t compared with a Gravity Spike) because everyone did not earn them as much and they were a genuine nuisance, unlike Specialists. That’s the difference, and Specialists aren’t a bad thing for that reason, especially because we’ve had much worse in CoD and it’s actually balanced.

If you want to go into more detail such as length of time for each Specialist Weapon and Ability, then I can understand the conception everyone has in regards to the *randomness* of the Specialists, but unfortunately it wouldn’t change my mind. They were handled well and it seems like your only issue is the Gravity Spikes and nothing else, which isn’t a very compelling point, especially since you can only use it 2-3 times per game, even more depending on whether or not you have Overclock equipped.

It doesn’t take rocket science to understand my point on the Specialists and what I meant by “gunfight”, you are reading way too much into it, so telling me to “use my brain” over something so petty (and not even remotely ignorant) is an extreme overreaction, and I think you need to “use your brain” and not use the Gravity Spikes as your only example. But fine, the Ruin wins the CONFRONTATION because the player who used it earned it since they get it like everyone else and they were able to time it correctly, just like how a grenade user or a rocket launcher user deserves to win the CONFRONTATION, because they timed it correctly and it’s a one-time user PER LIFE, so why aren’t you complaining about them? Might as well not want those anymore too.

          • Former

            Yeah, not reading that.

    • Not really.

  • Fegasaruasㅤ

Please take out “Call of Duty” out of the title. This is not Call of Duty.

    • It definitely is Call Of Duty. The series had to evolve, if you disagree, stop right here, and go pick up those games you liked, and play them.

They are still alive, every single one of them.

I just don’t think this series should keep plopping out new games at this point. Basically everything that could’ve been done, has been done.

I say they continue remastering pre Ghost call of duties, and then each studio keep supporting the games they have now with more maps, supply drop content, zombies and campaign episodes.

That way, the people who like the futuristic games get to play them and they won’t get old, but the people uppity about it whatever reason they whine about, can have their games, too.

      • yeah i feel you because the only thing they can make is future, modern and past cod but no one wants futuristic cod anymore i for one just want modern cod not past because i’ve played way too many ww1/2 games

    • Keshav Bhat

Who says Call of Duty is defined by anything? I personally think It’s defined by the developers, as along as it’s a shooter title. SHG almost made a third person version of it.

It can be what the developers imagine and see for it. You don’t have to like ever iteration of it. There will be some good and some bad. But I think creativity and new ideas makes the franchise feel fresh yearly. But if you don’t think so, cool. But give it a chance before you judge it.

    • I can’t stand when people say this. This IS Call of Duty, according to Infinite Ward, Treyarch, Sledgehammer and Activision. This is the evolution of CoD in 2016. Maybe it will be different in 2017. It’s trying something new, it’s going in a different direction. What is Call of Duty to you? What do those words mean to you? At the core, it seems to be CoD to me. The story, the military aspect, the action, etc. People need to calm down and simply pass on the game if it has passed them by.

COD isin’t about the setting. It’s about tight controls, fast reactive gunfights, devastating streaks, weapon variety, and fun maps

      • Eddie Tupy

pretty much nailed it. setting comes after, its not the core of the game. That is why the devs keep saying that they can make an infinite number of games. They could make a cod completely underwater if they wanted. in that case it would probably be a fishing game by then..

        & perks…

    • Stefan Lang

I’ve said this so many times and I keep will, the day Call of Duty won’t be Call of Duty is the day they remove the whole fps aspect of the game. You trade in your weapons for a vehicle and you race cars on multiple tracks 😴 Just because they change the way you move around the map doesnt make the game not a Call of Duty game. People just don’t want to adapt so they complain. You were probably one of the many that wanted “change” what type of change were you expecting?? AW was the stepping stone and then BO3 worked around that introducing wall running to the series and specialist characters which was a GREAT addition imo. I’m one of the guys that started out on CoD 4 and I have never once turned away from the series. If they gave us changes, I accepted those changes and adapted to them, I didnt bitch and moan on the internet.

      • joey

        aw > bo3 <3

    • lunator100hd .

Why its not call of duty? because yt comments say so, jesus such a stupid bandwagon.

      • Fegasaruasㅤ

I’m not a bandwagon, this MAY BE what other CODs core aspects were, but it doesn’t look anything as a war experience. Granted, I haven’t played the game yet (I’ll give it a chance), but this looks like it has NOTHING to do with COD. Sure, you’re in war but it looks to me as your just playing a game in space and not feeling like you’re actually fighting for something as in previous CODs. This series is based on war in real life, and I don’t think we’ll ever be in a war in space, with jackals, with boost jumping and sliding. I can’t tell the future but these devs sure can. All I have to say. My opinion. Maybe not the same as yours.

    • imBATMAN

      clearly it is, queen latina.

    • Eddie Tupy

call of duty is simply a military shooter using a heavily modifed quake engine and is best played as an arena fps because of it.

All else is just a different skin or flavour or branch of that.

    • ccrows

To an extent true, but IW and BO3 are more (traditional) COD than AW.

^ With that said the next COD game needs to go back to WWII, and SH better not use the same MM as AW…

    • jacob3178259

you make this statement seem like fact then say it’s my opinion stop making fun of meeeee.

thats not how shit works champ, don’t want to be critiqued don’t comment.

I never made this seem like a fact, if you had a brain you would realize this is a opinion. And no one made fun of me?

        • jacob3178259

“Please take out “Call of Duty” out of the title. This is not Call of Duty.” you are demanding that they remove the title of the game because it is wrong and you are right aka you claim it is fact. “my opinion stop slamming on it” that’s you crying that people are roasting you for being an idiot aka making fun of you

then again trying to logic shit out (that i shouldn’t have to in the first place) to a cod kid is like squeezing blood out of a stone, waste of time.

      • darren

How do you figure? They showed all 6 in the vid. There was no attention paid to the 3 we will have access to. Make a video on just those three, considering this is a BETA video, right? Make a vid on each one with what they have to offer. Not just rehashed shit and say NEW VID.
What did we learn from this video, that we haven’t already heard in previous ones? Nothing.

        • well technically you said show the 3 that will be available and they showed it lol go on their twitter and see the three

          • RdJokr

Ain’t nobody stopping you from hating on the games. But when that’s all you ever do on a website dedicated to COD fans, then it’s probably a good idea to reevaluate your hobbies.

That’s why it’s called a fansite, not a hatersite. Again, not telling you to stop hating. Hating is good every once in a while, but not on a regular basis.

  • Its been 2 weeks since I’ve pre ordered and I still don’t have my beta code…

  • The beta is out during the Halloween event for overwatch but this will make me stop playing it for some time hype

  • Jay Evan

Given how much their enforcing the play styles for these rigs, they should limit specific weapons for certain rigs. I.E: Merc can’t use SMGs, FTL can’t use assault rifles, Phantom can’t use Shotguns, Stryker can’t use pistols, Warfighter and Synaptic can’t use snipers.

    • djml9

No. Anyone can use any weapons is one of the best parts of CoD. I hate unnecessary restrictions. CoD revolves around player freedom.

      • Jay Evan

I’m just brainstorming. It would be pretty shitty to deal with a guy with Phantom’s anti-healing ability running around with a shotgun while invisible. And from a backstory standpoint it doesn’t make sense. Why would a person in a suit built to use heavy artillery handle a small SMG?

      • Jay Evan

In the past, it’s been easy to identify the weapon someone is using through their character model.

  • ccrows

Hopefully IW is a success, since I need to buy that to get MWR, but if IW flops then I’ll be happy with MWR and BO3…

    • BradyAlucard

MW3? That’s a funny CoD to choose. The others must be hacked. I’ve been playing my fair share of older CoD’s like BO1, MW3, BO2, etc. They were fun to get back into. MW3 especially, it’s weird how good that game’s Multiplayer has gotten since its lifecycle (where it was the worst CoD ever back then, no question).

  • ToonToons22

The game just looks like a copy and paste of the last two CODs. I would rather see a remaster of an old COD game (World at War Remastered, anyone?) next year than Advanced Warfare 2. I think it’s safe to say that I won’t be buying COD this year. Maybe at a discount later in the game’s cycle, but not now.

    • BigMacMan

      >complains that new game is copy and paste
      >wants a literal copy & paste

      nice.

      • ToonToons22

World at War was a game that everyone loved, just like CoD4. I bet more people would want to play a remastered tried-and-true game like WaW than a game that takes place in a boring futuristic setting for the fourth time. As a matter of fact, they are doing that right now. Just look at the popularity of Infinite Warfare compared to that of MWR.

Already got 9 games using 2 settings, gets bored of 1 setting after 2
          Much logic

Well, the specialist weapons in Infinite Warfare seem average compared to BO3 IMO, as they don’t seem like they would be too much of a problem to deal with.

Equalizer is just the duel FMG9s
CLAW is the smg version of that shotgun from Titanfall2
Steel Dragon looks like the EM1 with slight aimbot
    Eraser is reskined Annilator
Ballista sniper is the Mors from AW with slight aimbot
Gravity Vortex gun is a mobile blackhole projector grenade
