Raven Software has announced that they’ll be updating the server send rate in Modern Warfare Remastered with the next patch. 


Many players have been complaining that the server send rate for MWR does not match the original COD4 server rate. This should rectify that.

    Even if it matches the original CoD 4 it’s still going to be pathetically low. We’re in the age of 60 Hz DEFAULT (and higher for PC) and they give us a measly 20Hz or lower.

      I agree, most hi-end games should be 100Hz/100Hz in both sending and receiving and using 100% dedicated servers all the time. Besides, any improvement is always welcomed and if we’ll get 30Hz server refresh rate instead of the pathetic 10Hz that we currently have, it’s still a decent improvement that should cause less hassle to players.

      Meh, BO3 and MWR (IMO) are the only decent CODs on this gen anyway…

      Even though IW might need even further improvements on this regard, the server tick rate in both sending and receiving isn’t as bad as it currently is on MWR. It’s even slower than the original Cod4. Totally unacceptable and unenjoyable.

          I agree, I hope they’ll do something for IW too and that future CODs will have way better and faster servers (e.g. 100Hz/100Hz in both sending and receiving).

      MWR tick rate is 10hz, IW is 20hz. MWR definitely needs the upgrade more.

            The Chinese server of CSGO will run at 128 at launch.

          depends on the game, there is no ‘standard’. People just liek to complain when they dont get what they are used to even if most other people dont use it. however for comp games yes ~60hz should be standard until 120-144hz monitors become more frequent than 60hz ones.

          64hz is wasting 4hz for most gamers. 128 is a waste of bandwidth if you dont get at least 128 fps and use a 144hz monitor.

            The general rule would be that Send Rate = Refresh Rate of the game. MWR for example runs at 60Hz (60p). Ideally, to reduce lag as much as possible, it should have 60Hz/60Hz refresh rate to and from the servers. It doesn’t even run on dedicated servers all the time, in some cases it still uses P2P connections.

            i play on pc so the fps is 91. The game only has like 200 people so its not even worth playing except for maybe bots once in a while.

          im pretty sure thats if youre not the host. If you are the host and its only vs bots it shouldnt even be tethered by tick at all.

      IW is actually one of the smoothest COD’s with the least bad lag comp in a long time. It’s not perfect but MWR had the worst netcode in the series since black ops at launch.

          Yeah I use Twitter pretty frequently and I obviously follow Amos Hodge to get all the latest updates concerning MWR and I try to do my best to ask for things, as many others do. In fact, a few weeks ago they finally removed the respawning awaiting time in HC TDM and KC! But it would be great if they added these two great modes missing from the list.

            I concur, Vittorio. I know a development / concept artist dude at Raven. He’d love to see HC FFA be added, too, but says that he cannot interfere as it’s “above his pay grade.” Totally understandable. Cheers for your kind help re: Twitter & Amos Hodge!

      It means the data you send to the server will be sent more frequently, which reduces lag. It doesn’t reduce your ping, but it decreases the amount of time it takes for your input to have an effect.

        its more likely how much the server sends that theyre changing, since they said server send rate not client. Server send rate is better anyway since the client send rate is usually 30 in cod games by default and i think it was in mwr.

        tldr they are going from 30/10 to 30/>10
