Battlefield allowed people to play the full game for a weekend and since COD Is doing awesome right now they limit the free trial to a couple of things. And they wonder why things aren’t going their way.

    • I think things are going their way with the way they’re profiting, I mean a large portion hates it but I don’t really think they care at this point, think their specific focus right now is to maximise profit not get their own way, next COD will possibly be different but we’ll see.

      • think I just repeated or fucked myself there at least once throughout that comment, kms

You hate to say it because it isn’t true.

        IW sucks

I does suck…all of my time and attention.

  • lunator100hd .

99% positive that next cod from SHG is going to be even more garbage. I dont care if its set in the future or not, these idiots are fucking clueless.

    • Duke of hazard

“99% positive that next cod from SHG is going to be even more garbage” no it’s not because it’s BOTG. BOTG Cod beats Jetpack Cod anyday.

      • GinsuVictim

“BOTG Cod beats Jetpack Cod anyday.”

The majority of people here would probably say they like BO3 better than Ghosts. (Not me, but just sayin’)

        • Doesn’t mean people prefer jetpacks. BO1 and BO2 are BOTG and they are both better than BO3.

          • BradyAlucard

BO2 is better in some ways but definitely not in others (there are many broken things in BO1 and 2, far more than anything in BO3). I wouldn’t go back to Toughness and broken quickscoping. BO1 is one of the best CoD’s though, but Ghost is a huge problem and most of the guns suck. BO3 may not be my favorite but it’s far more of a polished experience.

          • Didn’t you say at one point broken or OP things didn’t matter when defending Call of Duty 4?

Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 1 are far superior titles.

          • Good taste ^^^^^

          • Mr_ysi42t96

            Can I taste your milk?

          • $2 for a cup

          • Mr_ysi42t96

Why you do dis I’m thirsty

          • BradyAlucard

I’m pretty sure I did say that, but CoD 4’s broken things aren’t nearly as bad as BO2’s broken things (broken quickscoping is more personal I guess). But I’ll definitely say I prefer BO1 than BO3, even with the stupid nonsense in that game but mainly because of its maps and the classic things I loved about it.

          • I mean every game has broken nonsense. There is bound to be some OP shit in every Call of Duty. Even in the newer ones. AW had ASM1 and Bal’s everywhere. Black Ops 3 has the Brecci, VMP, M8, Infinite Warfare has the NV4.

          • GinsuVictim

            That’s not what I said.

          • “BOTG Cod beats Jetpack Cod anyday.”

The majority of people here would probably say they like BO3 better than Ghosts. (Not me, but just sayin’)

Than what does that imply? Black Ops 3 isn’t liked because of the jetpacks. Its just a better game.

          • jordanxbrookes

It’s definitely a better game out of AW and IW, but it’s meh compared to the older titles.

          • I think BO3 is the better game since Black Ops 2. And I say that not just because I think beating the last three games were easy. I say it because I thought Treyarch put in a lot of effort in to BO3. They are really the only ones so far to actually use the three year cycle right. I thought the base maps were really good. I thought all the guns were really fun to use (much like BO2 and BO1) i think overall BO3 is a fantastic game and deserves a spot in my personal top 5.

Now had Treyarch just stuck with the beta version and made better DLC, BO3 probably would have surpassed Black Ops 2 miles ahead

          • jordanxbrookes

Treyarch have their game design in check, which is why it feels fun and makes sense. I too wish we still had the Black Ops 3 Beta, that was so much fun.

          • Victor Cavalcante

How can IW and SH use the 3 year cycle right if every time that they are doing a CoD Activision puts his nose in it. After Ghosts took a backlash, SH was obligated to stop their BOTG CoD to do AW, then IW was developing Ghosts 2 and after 2 futuristic CoDs and the market acceptance for them and games like Titanfall and Destiny, Activision again made them stop it and do IW. Now with the IW backlash SH had to stop AW2 to make a BOTG CoD and again it will be a bad game. Basically every time that it’s IW or SH turn they are forced to stop their game in development in the middle of the 3 year cycle and start a new one because of Activision vision of the market.

          • Do you have any actual proof that Infinity Ward was doing Ghosts or are you making that up? Same thing with AW2, where is your proof?

          • ^^^^^^
            This

        • Duke of hazard

The best jetpack Cod beats the worst BOTG cod. Doesnt beat the others.

        • BradyAlucard

This. BOTG wouldn’t magically make the game better at all period. It can still pander to competitive players like AW mistakenly did, or make it a campfest/headglitchfest like MWR.

          • Call of Duty 4 is from a different time and there will never be a Call of Duty similar to CoD4 with the play style, tactics ever again. And I’m sure SHGames probably won’t make the same mistakes they did in AW.

            SHGames are the underdogs

          • BradyAlucard

What I mean is that fundamentally every CoD is mostly the same mechanics-wise. All MW2 did was add unto the new things that CoD 4 brought, and BO2 just changed the class system. Since we all don’t want the movement significantly changed, what else can they do to the game in order for it to stand on its own, fundamentally speaking? I’d probably still buy it, but playing the same shooters over and over again has gotten boring, especially with the potential the next game will have because they got rid of the jetpacks (headglitching/camping).

I agree that they’re great developers that know what they’re doing, but I’ll believe it when I see it (they’re big into e-Sports, that’s just a fact at this point, it’s practically all they care about).

          • And yet even the Call of Duty games with the new movement system. Things are still the same. All the movement system did is make the game unnecessary random. I play MWR more than IW. (Currently 7th prestige in MWR and 6th in IW) it’s a much better game.

          • BradyAlucard

I’m sure it is, actually, but knowing this community I can already guess that that game is also full of headglitchers and campers because there’s no way of getting rid of that (not even with advanced movement). But yeah, advanced movement to me definitely is a short-time thing because it changed the game too much, and Titanfall does it far better; I just don’t like genericness and BOTG feels too limited to me.

I can only guess what non-CoD players (AKA Battlefield fanboys/CoD haters) are going to say about it.

          • Basically as it is, Call of Duty is a simplistic game, and not only that, the game already is random because of killstreaks/pointstreaks.

So you add another layer if randomness to the mix of Call of Duty, you just make the game unnecessarily random. And that’s even worse, when all dev teams are still making maps similar to games with boots on the ground.

Which is why the gameplay will always be better with boots on the ground.

      • lunator100hd .

Bo3 is better thab bo2 and ghosts in my opinion but whatever.

        • I’d rather kms than play BO3 over BO2 honestly

          • lunator100hd .

            kms= kiss my shit???

      • BradyAlucard

BOTG isn’t sorcery, it isn’t going to magically make the game better for everyone. I guarantee you that the headglitching and camping could make it worse than IW unless they fix the hit detection (which is not going to happen). And what if they put SBMM back in the game?

I actually prefer thrust jumps [jetpacks] in some ways and BOTG in others. My main concern with BOTG is genericness, I dread this next game being another copy and paste of CoD 4 like every CoD until AW.

        • Duke of hazard

BOTG reduces the randomness. AW, you can spam the crap out of jetpacks. BO3, you can wallrun on trees, wallrun under the map, and have uninteded line of sights thanks to that. IW, bascially like BO3 expect that they made it more official that you can wall run below the map.

Cod was fun to play because of its simplicity. BOTG paves the road to get there. Now for the glitches that you mention, those are bumbps on the road that the devs must be aware of.

          • BradyAlucard

Yeah, but it also opens up a whole new can of worms (won’t bother repeating myself because I’ll just sound like a broken record), and even though I agree it makes the game more random and chaotic, I like the options it gives (but it has its bad days). I’m glad it’s coming back, but I can’t forget the problems that will come with it, and how little of CoD’s genericness that it’d change.

Headglitches aren’t real glitches (I don’t think so anyway) if that’s what you mean, they’re just annoying and impossible to beat.

      • Ghosts was BOTG and it was fuckin trash

        • Duke of hazard

Oh I know. I hate Ghosts, but I’d rather play that over Infinite Warfare.

          • Eh, no thanks. IW isn’t very good but it’s defintley a improvement over Ghosts in my eyes.

          • Duke of hazard

Eh agree to disagree but we can both agree that IW has been terrible at making Cods lately.

          • Definitely.

    • StillHaveHope

You used to be one of those “idiots” thoe. Anyhow, despite the fact that sledgehammer was the first studio to bring the 3D movement to the COD series, all because the community wanted something “new” Now they fucking despise it! lol I like their engine, they will make a good game, even now so that they got the green light to bring COD back to it’s roots!

    • jordanxbrookes

That’s the sad reality. Even if it is boots on the ground and in the past, that’s just part of it. The core of multiplayer needs to be fun, exciting, refreshing and replayable, and with a franchise that releases new games every year, fatigue wears everything down. I’ll do my best to stay positive in hopes of a decent game this year, but the sad reality is, that downwards line continues to go down further, with Infinite Warfare being a critical point on that graph.

    • HazardMan 117

Finally, someone with the same mindset. Personally, I don’t even think SHG is a competent developer.

  • DEMOLITION12

i wouldn’t play if they were paying ME

  • hungryandrew

    Dam already free trial?

    • Former

The game is kinda old in terms of CoD lifespans.

    • The second one!

  • imBATMAN

    FREE?!? *autistic screech*

    • BradyAlucard

YEYYYYY HIRSHBERG! YOU’RE TOTALLY LISTENING TO THE FANS! WOOOO

  • BradyAlucard

    Of course not MWR.

    • SPAWNST4R

      MWR is garbage too

      • BradyAlucard

        Everything’s garbage.

    • mwr right now isn’t even worth playing tbh

      • BradyAlucard

Probably, it just doesn’t make any sense to not allow MWR to have a free trial.

  • Tried it the first time round and didn’t enjoy it at all, won’t be trying it again. Roll on news of COD 2017 when I can either forget about IW altogether or forget about COD altogether (depending on whether or not we get boots on ground or Advanced Warfare 2)

    • We definitely are getting boots on the ground

      • BradyAlucard

Playing Tactical TDM showed me everything wrong with a BOTG CoD; headglitchers all over the place and no one moves. Sledgehammer better make it a good game because BOTG =/= gumdrops and rainbows.

        • You aren’t playing the same game I’m playing. I see people moving, and even if they dont, campers aren’t hard to kill.

Boots on the ground doesn’t automatically mean a better game. No one ever said that. But BOTG literally fits and plays better with Call of Duty. Advanced movement never did, and if it did, well, we would have saw it returned this year.

          • TTDM is pretty comphy, it’s the one of the only few things that keep me playing but some of the weapons like the R3K and that one burst fire revolver are disgustingly OP

          • I definitely agree there. The R3K does ruin it.

          • BradyAlucard

Headglitchers are next to impossible to kill because you only see a few pixels. Campers are a problem whenever the whole team does it and makes the games slower. Maybe it’s just Tactical TDM and IW’s maps because it feels like Ghosts.

Right, advanced movements don’t fit CoD, I can agree with that. It was nice to see a change for once but it causes too much randomness and chaos.

          • Well, is headglitching a problem for the devs to fix?

Campers will exist no matter what. People have different play styles. I think a game catering to one and only one play style is pretty bad and boring

          • BradyAlucard

Headglitching and camping is an issue in all games, but are far more rampant in BOTG games. It’s not an issue in Titanfall nor Destiny, for example. The developers can’t fix either issues unless they wanted to cripple certain playstyles, and headglitching can’t be solved by hilariously just making objects shorter, but by not placing them in choke points in the first place (we all know why they’re added anyway, to make the game either more competitive or maybe to fill up a certain map).

I’m just saying I wouldn’t be looking forward to it, and the next CoD’s “samey” feel.

          • I think I rather deal with headglitchers and campers over the game where the gameplay is unnecessarily fast paced and random.

  • PDX Guitar Freak

If you enjoyed BO3, there is a chance you will enjoy this game. However, I’d like to think that most people into COD already tried the beta, so I’m doubtful this free preview will change much…. perhaps some kids added that are new to the scene.

    • GinsuVictim

The final game is so much better than the beta.

      • PDX Guitar Freak

I just don’t remember much of the beta because I missed most of it due to travel. I remember hating the Titanfall 2 beta though LOL

        • You won’t like the final game if you hated the beta.

          • GinsuVictim

I hated the beta, but love the game. I was considering canceling my pre-order.

    • I enjoyed BO3 but didn’t enjoy IW at all, mostly because it was too similar. It felt like a long expansion pack to BO3.

      • PDX Guitar Freak

I hear you. That’s why I only said “there is a chance” you will enjoy it. I’m actually glad they didn’t change the movement system much from BO3, as I liked it (yeah, I’m one of those guys that likes both boots on ground, and advanced movement). In the end, I enjoyed BO3 more, no doubt.

        • Oh yeah, I enjoyed the advanced movement too, I actually loved AW and thought BO3’s toned down boosting was a big improvement. Maybe if I weren’t so peeved I’d have enjoyed IW, but I’d had enough of BO3 at the time and found it too similar so opted to try BF1 instead. Either way I’m looking forward to finding out more about COD 2017!

      • BradyAlucard

TBH every BOTG CoD game feels like CoD 4, though, because they can’t do anything to the movement itself, so they just change non-movement things. IW can be fun at times, but BO3 just has better hit detection (even though it has a lot of problems with said hit detection). I liked its other ideas like Mission Teams/Salvage and the way they handled Rigs. They just didn’t have enough time to improve the net coding, there’s actually not a whole lot wrong with the game itself; it’s about as smooth as BO3, they just had a troubled development cycle. It’s not as bad as everyone says it is, it’s just not for me because it makes me rage too much.

        • >TBH every BOTG CoD game feels like CoD 4, though

          It REALLY doesn’t.

          • BradyAlucard

Gameplay-wise it’s just running and shooting like every other shooter out there. The franchise does have the reputation of rehashing CoD 4. It’s why people want innovation out of the franchise.

I seriously don’t see how any other game is different mechanics-wise other than killstreaks and the dolphin dive/slide.

          • Considering map design is completely different in Call of Duty 4, there is not another game that plays exactly like Call of Duty 4.

  • BradyAlucard

I’m guessing that the stats from the last trial will carry over?

    Dang.

  • Sentinel

Sledgehammer Engine is very nice! It plays well with COD remastered in a moder setting. The draw back is slow, just like cod 4. I would like to see their next tittle with their updated game engine & “back to it’s roots” game.

    • Carl Ramsey

All call of dutys u send same engine. The call of Duty engine. it just an updated version of cod modern warfare engine.

      • Batman

        No its not.

Treyarch’s engine was acquired in waw from IW, since then it has got a lot of upgrades and majpr changes, essentially making it into a brand new thing.

IW’s engine was acquired back at CoD 4, since then, it has been completely transformed

SHG’s engine was acquired back at MW3, SHG changed it from its core, its basically an all new one

All 3 devs have vastly different engines now, it all started the same, but their evolution process is completely different

        • Carl Ramsey

Wrong it is same engine framework with updates. The netcode and framework are the same that how they keep the cod feel. They all use same engine so they can easily share assets between studios.

        • Carl Ramsey

U are wrong it is all version of iw engine. They say the rewrote some code for specific systems. Which means when u use words like rewrite. U are just making upgrades to engine not starting fresh. I can rewrite a book. When I’m done it is basically the same book.

      • BradyAlucard

Sledgehammer significantly changed it though, so it’s as if it’s their own. But he mainly means graphically, and no CoD game looks bad this generation graphically. That’s one thing the CoD developers did right at least.

      • jordanxbrookes

Nope, all 3 studios use the same base engine (id Tech 3), but each studio has adapted and updated their version of the engine to their needs.

      • Sentinel

You just talking your ass off.

  • Don’t want to waste 60 gb of internet downloading a game i might not keep lol

    • BradyAlucard

FFA is actually very fun. I actually got kills instead of getting screwed over by the hit detection.

  • BradyAlucard

    Call of Duty: Infinite NV4.

I deleted it today. The hit detection in this game is on obscene levels of bad. Only FFA is fun so if anyone is still playing it I’d recommend that. Couldn’t even get to level 15…

    • jordanxbrookes

LOL I’m still at Level 1 and I haven’t played it since Day One 5 months ago. Played the Campaign and 40 seconds of MP and that’s it.

      • BradyAlucard

I don’t think it’s as bad as everyone says it is. I really don’t. It’s just not worth raging over, and BO3 had similar problems (shoot first die first). Some games went my way, others didn’t (because, again, CoD: Infinite NV4/cancerous players). I just can’t do it.

      • You’re loosing out on absolutely nothing.

  • scrotesmd

ohh yesss the noobs, like lambs to the slaughter.
