GameInformer’s magazine has delivered a lot of new details on the Zombies mode in Call of Duty: WWII. In this post, we’re highlighting some of the big details:

  • Zombies mode takes place towards the end of WWII, when Nazi Germany was in a desperate situation.
  • Zombies features a new “dynamic approach.” One example of this is where players are forced to kill Zombies in a constantly moving radius to create an electrical charge to unlock the next area.
  • The Zombies are created by man, Dr. Straub. Straub’s Zombies are centered around the nervous system. The Zombies are created by bolts and other items that you see stuck in them. Their backbone is the energy which charges their nervous system. The Zombies are actually being tortured.
  • Lot of this story is based on actual events that were happening during WWII.
  • There are different classes and types of Zombies. Not all have every body part you may expect. Pests class do not have any arms, rather they are assembled from spare parts. The Bomber class of Zombies are stitched up from parts.
  • Zombies features customizable loadouts, but also permanent-unlocks that work like perks. GameInformer directly compares this to gobblegums, but these are permanent, not temporary uses like gobblegums.
  • There are 4 classes: Offense, Control, Support, and Medic.
  • Boarding up windows and collecting currency is back in this mode.
  • There are both wave based rounds and location/event based encounters
  • Players can earn some “special abilities” in Zombies mode. Activated by pressing R1 and L1. An example is Unlimited Ammo.
  • Tesla weaponry unlock able by gaining additional power by killing zombies in a specific area.
  • Super bosses are back in Zombies.
  • Easter Eggs are extremely difficult in this game.

I once cut the head off my dog and did things to the neckhole don’t worry it prank

  • The features described sound pretty neat. Looks like it is going to be a bit different.

I do like the sound of these points here. Wave based rounds and location/events based encounters sound great. And I like the idea of classes too. Didn’t Ghosts do this with Extinction? Because I actually like that about Extinction

It’s been a really long time since I touched Extinction, but did it force players to use different classes from one another in co-op or can you just pick whatever class you like?

      • It’s been awhile for me since I touched Ghosts at all, but I’m more than sure you could pick whatever class you wanted despite what other players had

      • Elite Predator

In Ghosts, everybody has to pick one build. Each class in Extinction has a *drastic* part to fill. But it is something you can discuss with your party and who’s gonna be who before you go in and play.

      • Elite Predator

While you play, you continuingly progress and invest your currency in your class. One build would consist of many aliens dead and eventually we unlock perks and scavenge for sights, grips, ammo (one of the builds can throw ammo to their team and it can be repurchased).

        • RdJokr

Ahh, now the memories are coming back. I only played Ghosts during the free weekends, but I did appreciate the super in-depth progression system in Extinction (something which Zombies is actually lacking now, even in Infinite Warfare surprisingly). A class system in Zombies like this would be a real game-changer.

    • The class system sounds ace, I liked that in Extinction too! Everything else unfortunately is sounding more and more like the usual as they reveal more info. I just hope it is more like Extinction and less round based like Treyarch’s for a bit of a change.

    Nazi Zombies sounds amazing

    • Yeah I’m not a big zombies fan (lost interest over the last few years), but I love that it’s more like classic zombies without the goofy/cartoony shit. I’m picturing myself actually playing zombies again

  • yo mama

Finally legit zombie farts (vanoss fans can relate)

  • Morn_du
  • Looks cool but not ground breaking. Maybe gameplay will change my mind.

    • FZN KR

It needs to feel really smooth, when ur running from zombies you need everything to work on the run

      • I have no doubt of SHG getting that right, one thing AW did well in my experience for zombies was having things feel good while looking good.

  • QuickzZ-_-GhosT

YES ! I love classes, that’s why I liked Exctinction.

  • Felix Plante

The only way I can see this mode to fall appart is if the maps layouts are bad or too tights. Otherwise, it has potential to be the best zombies yet, thanks to a mashup of a lot of good ideas that were introduced in previous games but were never put together.

  • Michael Romo

I’m just waiting to see what the 3arc ass-lickers are going to criticize for “trying to be like Treyarch”.

  • Easter Eggs are extremely difficult in this game.

    Fuck sake.

  • jordanxbrookes

So basically Zombies mixed with Extinction? Nice.

  • Sounds rubbish, Ill stick to BO3 and previous cod zombies thanks.

    • Subzero

Treyarch zombies is where its at. Anything else is shite.
