Call of Duty: WWII is on the cover of GameInformer this month, with a full featured cover story about the games’ three modes.

In regards to MP, GameInformer has shared some new details about Headquarters, the new Social Space.

The magazine says that players can actually open their Supply Drops directly in Headquarters with your friends watching you open and see what loot you get. GameInformer says opening the drops this way increases your “social score” in Headquarters. The more you participate in different social events in Call of Duty: WWII MP, the higher chance of earning better loot in Supply Drops.

Even more so, the magazine says that if you open something cool in a drop, everyone around you watching will also be rewarded with some sort of a prize. It is not clear yet what that prize is.

Dude, Headquarters is like the Social Spaces in Destiny. You go there between activities. If you’re playing with your friends and you all open your SDs together, then you all get better SDs in the future. There’s literally no downside to this. Your SDs get better over time. That’s an upgrade compared to IW, MWR, BO3, and AW’s SDs. Personally, I think that this is a very cool thing

      • Thanks for clarifying – that doesn’t sound bad.

        • Drew Schmidt

No problem! I’m very excited for the new social features in WWII

      • Hitman

Your comment is irrelevant. The implementation of Supply Drops and the social side of it becoming “cool” is purely what Activision wants you to think. Generating more revenue for them and coaxing kids into buying into supply drops. The more you share, the more others want to adopt the same mentality. Acitvision is a multi billion dollar corporation that has tapped into the psych of supply drops / gambling because that’s where is money really is.

        • Drew Schmidt

Your perspective is really skewed. I’ve never paid for a SD in my life, and the only CPs that I’ve ever bought were so that I could get the Extra Slots pack. I hate the monetization of stat-changing items. WWII’s SDs will be cosmetic-only at launch. I enjoy opening cosmetic-only SDs. When stat-changing items are added to SDs, it sucks and it hurts the game, but it’s still a good thing that SD rewards will get better over time in WWII. At the bottom line, WWII’s SD system is an upgrade compared to the other games’ SD systems

There’s nothing cool in opening RNG crates, it’s gambling. Activision is really trying to get the kids to take their parents CC to buy more RNG supply drops to open in front of their friends. It’s a psychological thing, really creepy.

        • Drew Schmidt

There is something enjoyable about opening random drops IMO. It’s only when they contain stat-changing items that they become a problem, especially since you can pay for the drops. It’s only gambling if you spend money on them, which I don’t. SDs have ALWAYS been aimed at spoiled kids who want to get the cool new items like the YouTubers that they watch just because they’re popular – that’s nothing new here. Of course it’s a psychological thing, that’s just a low-level observation. There’s nothing creepy here, it’s just good business. Many consumers don’t like this business model, but many others throw enough money at them to make it profitable for them

The game is 17+.. It’s the parents fault that they buy mature rated games for their children.

And now streight up scummy social phycology. fuck you sledgehammer. You could have just gave the finger to activision. Instead you become another bioware.

I don’t understand where you’re coming from. Here’s my take on this:

Not unless they want to be disbanded.

Its not the devs fault, its Activision. They would rather focus on supply drops and how to get people to buy them rather than backing a good game..

Do social events count with a party? Or do you have to *shudders* talk to randoms?

  • NOVA_POLARIS

While this is pretty cool this is pretty messed up for people with addictive personalities. This encourages you to open supply drops with people watching, and for you to watch others open them. This means people will constantly be seeing other people open supply drops, and it will keep them thinking about it. In the end if they are weak willed they may end up buying a few because they see people get awesome loot. For some people this could mean thousands of dollars down the drain. I personally will be enjoying this feature as a few extra freebie’s, just be sure to be careful with how much your spending.

  • Piotr Piter

So yeah instead of playig game like it supposed to be you are forced to do social things to have better chances of getting weapons and other loot. Its fps game not damn sims game…

  • se7en

Another garbage ploy by Activision to try and get little kids to steal their parents credit cards and buy supply drops. This franchise gets worse on a yearly basis all because of Activision…
