The key to a Warzone victory is carrying the best guns, so we’ve ranked every primary weapon in Warzone Season 2, and counted down the top 10 you should be using in Call of Duty’s battle royale.
In Call of Duty: Warzone Season 2, there are almost a hundred weapons to choose from. Guns, knives, and explosives from both Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War are available to take into Verdansk and Rebirth Island.
We’ve taken all 73 primary weapons available to use in Warzone, ranked them from best to worst, and counted down the top 10.
Call of Duty Warzone: Weapon tier list
Before we count down the top 10 weapons in Warzone, we’re ranking every single primary weapon available in the game. Some weapons clearly shine above the rest and some should be avoided at all costs.
Here’s our official tier list of every primary weapon in Warzone.
- S-Tier: FFAR 1, AUG (Cold War), Kar98k, CR-56 AMAX, MAC-10
- A-Tier: Kilo 141, Stoner 63, Bruen Mk9, Bullfrog, HDR, Grau 5.56, M4A1, AK-47 (CW), M13, MP5 (MW), MP5 (CW), M16, Gallo SA12, Riot Shield

- F-Tier: FN Scar 17, Draganov, FR 5.56, Rytec AMR, EBR 14, 725, KSP 45
S-Tier weapons are the meta in Warzone Season 2 – the best of the best. Weapons in A-tier are incredibly strong and extremely viable, and could quickly become the meta if any of the S-Tier weapons receive a nerf in future updates.
B-Tier guns are useable, and very viable if built right and used in the right circumstances, whereas C-Tier weapons would only need small buffs to increase their popularity.
D-Tier weapons are ineffective, but you can try them out and have some fun with them, while F-Tier guns shouldn’t be in your loadout at all.
Top 10 weapons in Warzone Season 2
10. HDR – best Warzone Sniper Rifle
The HDR Sniper Rifle has made the top 10 Warzone weapons for its effectiveness at long-range. Although getting in player’s faces with SMGs and the FFAR 1 is great fun, playing more passively and taking fights at distance is a more effective strategy to score the win.
Set yourself up in a power position mid-circle, and you’ll be able to take out any enemy in sight, no matter how far away they are.
The Bullfrog has two distinct advantages over the other SMGs in the game – its headshot multiplier and large magazine size. You’ll need to be accurate, but if you manage to land a couple of headshots with this Cold War SMG, the enemy will go down instantly.
8. Bruen Mk9
The Bruen Mk9 is so effective because it combines the power of an LMG with the mobility of an Assault Rifle. Swapping out the ammunition belt for a 60 Round Magazine will turn this heavy-hitter into an AR, making it faster than the other LMGs on offer.
You’ll need to pull down on your stick or mouse to control the recoil, but the Bruen melts through enemies.
7. Kilo 141
While the Kilo 141 doesn’t pack much punch per shot, its laser accuracy has made it popular among Warzone players. It received a small nerf as the Cold War weapons came into the game, but it’s still an extremely effective choice in Season 2.
If you’re still quite new to FPS games or have trouble controlling recoil in long-range fights, the Kilo 141 is the weapon for you.
6. Stoner 63 – best Warzone LMG
Most players run a weapon for fighting at distance and something to fight up-close. Black Ops Cold War’s Stoner 63 is a powerful choice of primary weapon. You won’t be as mobile as if you use the AMAX, for example, but you’ll be able to tear through the enemy’s armor with ease.
5. MAC-10 – best Warzone SMG
Since Cold War’s weapons came to Warzone, there’s been no better choice of SMG than the MAC-10. With almost no recoil, a blistering fire-rate, and an extremely fast TTK, the MAC-10 is an extremely powerful choice.
If the FFAR receives a nerf during Season 2, as NICKMERCS predicted, expect the MAC-10 to be number one again.
4. CR-56 AMAX
In Warzone Season 2, the meta has shifted away from long-range Assault Rifle builds with VLK Optics. However, the CR-56 AMAX has remained untouched by recent nerfs, which has catapulted it into the meta.
While this AR has always been deadly in Warzone, the Kilo 141 getting a slight nerf has made the AMAX arguably the best Assault Rifle of its class.
Although being quite bouncy, it hits extremely hard. If you manage to learn the recoil of this Assault Rifle, you’ll win almost any gunfight.
3. Cold War AUG – best Warzone Tactical Rifle
Buffs to both the Cold War AUG and the Agency Suppressor going into Warzone Season 2 has had the weapon fly up the ranks. Behind only the Kar98k, the AUG has become the go-to weapon as a medium-long range choice.
It’s capable of two bursting players with full armor, and the recoil between bursts is extremely manageable – allowing you to hit several bursts in quick succession, taking out full teams caught in the open with ease.
2. Kar98k – best Warzone Marksman Rifle
If you want a Sniper Rifle that’s both quick and accurate, the Kar98k is the strongest choice available. Although being a Marksman Rifle, equipping the Kar with a Sniper Scope will make it the most aggressive sniper build in Warzone.
It doesn’t have the same power or range as the HDR, but you can be so much more mobile. With faster movement speed, bolt-time, and ADS speed, you’ll be able to quickscope enemies up close. Starting a fight with a couple of easy headshots will put your team at a distinct advantage.
And with its one-shot headshot, you can effectively snipe at long-range if you learn its bullet drop physics.
1. FFAR 1 – best Warzone Assault Rifle
It will come as no surprise that the FFAR 1 is ranked at number one in Warzone Season 2. It’s hands-down the best weapon in Warzone, capable of outgunning almost every other weapon at close range.
Although being an Assault Rifle, you use it at as SMG because it’s unstoppable at close-range. You might struggle to control the recoil at long-range, but when paired with the Cold War AUG or the Kar98k, you’ll have a weapon to dominate any fight.
The FFAR can be found in almost every squad, making it not only the best gun but the most popular. You’ll struggle to use it at longer range, but when paired with the Cold War AUG or the Kar98k, you’ll be unstoppable no matter the engagement.
Those are the top 10 weapons you should be using in Warzone Season 2. As new seasons, weapons, and balance changes come to Call of Duty’s battle royale, we’ll keep this list updated.
And if classic multiplayer is more your cup of tea, you can check out the top 10 Black Ops Cold War weapons.

We’ll start this loadout with the Gru Suppressor, which will help you avoid enemy detection on their radars, while also drastically increasing the damage range of this assault rifle. This will allow you to dish out heavy amounts of damage at further distances.
The 18.2″ Takedown Barrel will improve both the Assault Rifle’s effective damage range. This helps prime the weapon for mid to long-range combat where you need to pick off enemies from a distance by having the largest damage increase of all of the gun’s available barrels.
You can use the KGB Skeletal Stock to increase your sprint to fire speed, ADS firing move speed, and aim walking movement speed to help you aim and fire with incredible speed which is perfect for close to mid-range combat scenarios.

Best perks for Warzone FARA 83 class
You can combine a few useful perks with these attachments so that you’re prepared for anything that match will throw at you. You’ll be able to handle most surprises that you encounter in Warzone by selecting these.
Perk 1 – E.O.D
It doesn’t matter how skilled you are if you’re caught off-guard by foes carrying explosives. Other players will attempt to blow you up while you’re in a good position during battle, so you’ll want to equip E.O.D to survive.
This perk allows you to tank huge amounts of explosive damage while you have your armor equipped. While you’ll mostly be fighting in medium to long-range combat situations, it still helps to be prepared for any surprises.
Perk 2 – Overkill
Warzone matches can have a variety of different tactical requirements, so you can equip this perk which allows you to select two primary weapons from any category. This means that you’ll be able to keep guns that are ideal for different situations.
Perk 3 –Amped
In case an enemy is able to sneak up on you in close quarters, you’ll want to swap to your secondary weapon before they have a chance to eliminate you. This perk makes switching weapons almost instant, which can be the difference between victory and defeat.
That covers our class setup for this powerful AR. We also recommend carrying some Semtex grenades to dish out explosive damage C4 to enemy vehicles. The Heartbeat Sensor can help you detect nearby foes, so you can strategize better.

Original Verdansk map will not be playable again following Warzone nuke event
CoD: Warzone’s historic Season 2 nuke event means that the original version of Verdansk will never be playable ever again.
The destruction of Verdansk to rid the map of the Zombie invasion in Season 2 has caused some serious knock-on effects. It’s been confirmed that the original version of Verdansk will never be playable again in Warzone.
For weeks it was rumored that Raven Software was going to make some big changes to Warzone’s classic battle royale map, and that’s proven to be the case. Verdansk has been nuked, and it might sadden players to know that they will not be able to enjoy the first incarnation of Verdansk again.
After a year of players dropping into Verdansk, it did feel like the right time to shake things up and make some substantial changes to the map.
If you missed “The Destruction of Verdansk Part I”, players that took part were thrown into a normal game of Warzone, only, every POI was infected. The likes of Superstore and Train Station would have their respective radiation zones grow at an exponential rate.
If you died, you came back as a Zombie no matter what. Instead of the late-Season addition of temporarily turning into a Zombie, this version kept you infinitely spawning as one.
Whilst all this was going on, the “Level 4 containment protocol” warning was triggering, the containment levels were slowly rising, and the gas was closing in quicker than ever.

Even with the return of Juggernaut suits, the mode’s goal of exfiling was impossible as no one was meant to escape. It was the end of Verdansk as we knew it.
But it seems like this will be the end of Verdansk, this version anyway, forever as Raven Software has confirmed with us that the setup of Verdansk we’ve grown to love over the last year will never be playable in any form again.
Players will now be playing on Verdansk ’84, which features updated POIs, new locales based on the Black Ops series, and more enhancements for the world.
