UPDATE: PS3 Players – new patch (v. 1.06) was released today (Jan 30th). It adds the same new features, bug fixes, etc as the Xbox patch. The patch notes are below.

Treyarch has just released a new patch for all Xbox 360 payers to download now. This patch brings a lot of bug fixes, new features, and more.

The important additions: brings support for the Revolution DLC pack (they have added a ‘Revolution’ playlist, added a tag stating ‘New’ for SMG and Zombies; note: this is in preparation for DLC launch on Tuesday), brought Live Streaming feature to all public matches, and a few weapon balancing.

Game Update Notes: Jan. 26, 2012

New Features & Feature Improvements:

  • Added support for Live Streaming in all Public Match playlists.
  • Added League Best from Season 1 to Player Card.
  • If you played in multiple series and/or multiple teams then your highest division and rank will be displayed. The League Best will span all seasons. If you finish with a higher division rank in Season 2 then your new League Best will be displayed after Season 2.
  • Added a Cumulative Daily Pool instead of a Weekly Pool in League Play. 200 Rank Points are added to a player’s pool every day. Points that are not used are rolled into the next day.
  • Added 2 new pages to the Combat Record (the Combat Summary and Medals).
  • Implemented sorting of Medals in the After Action Report.
  • Lowered HUD threshold for the “low health” overlay to increase player’s awareness of low health.
  • Added a “Go to Top” button for the League Leaderboard.

Issues Addressed:

  • Matchmaking modified to never return games outside of player’s own continent, unless the Connection Type in Search Preferences is set to “Any”.
  • Addressed an issue where the UAV would not trigger if called in while aiming down sight.
  • Addressed an issue where the Master Demolition challenge did not unlock when the requirements were complete.
  • Addressed issue with the headshot sound not playing in final Killcams and Theater Demos.
  • Fixed an issue in League Play where “Career Wins” for a Series were not displayed during placement in the Lobby Career Overview.
  • Updated the After Action Report in League Play so that bonus points are not summed with the ladder points in points earned for the match.
  • Removed the ability to make dual wield attachment combos in Elite Create a Class and addressed an issue where these classes were appearing as missing in game.
  • Corrected mode description message displayed on YouTube when Live Streaming Public Match Core game modes.
  • Stocks on SMGs no longer allow a player to move faster while ADS than when moving normally.
  • Shotgun crosshairs will no longer turn red if an enemy is out of the shotgun’s maximum damage range.
  • Fixed an issue where bullets would not fire straight immediately after aiming down the sight while moving at the same time.
  • Improved turret tracking to eliminate false positives when checking line of sight.
  • Turrets now have smoother tracking when targeting players.
  • Improved bot pathing on multiple maps.
  • Current League Info is now getting updated properly in the Player Identity.
  • Manual sorting on League Teams removed as the results are now returned correctly.
  • Improved the Scoreboard to make friend Playercard information more accessible.
  • Addressed multiple UI issues.
  • Players can no longer earn credit towards a Prestige Equipment challenge through “friendly” flashbangs, concussions, and shock charges.
  • Fixed Select Fire weapons reverting back to their default fire method when using certain Scorestreaks and not calling them in.
  • Addressed an exploit where the game allowed access to the Custom Games Settings while believing the game was Public Matchmaking, allowing XP.
  • Fixed UI errors when linking Live Stream.
  • Score and points are no longer awarded if a player destroys their own turret in Hardcore FFA.
  • Improved image alignment when Stereoscopic 3D is enabled.
  • Addressed an issue where players were able to plant numerous Assault Shields.
  • Addressed an issue where the Stealth Helicopter was able to drop below the map in Drone.
  • Players are no longer able to get infinite Black Hats by immediately using another Black Hat.
  • Addressed an issue where it was possible for a player to equip two Assault Shields at the same time.
  • Players Spectating a One in the Chamber game no longer earn Survivor Bonus Points.
  • A player can no longer earn Medals for multi-kills if they continue to kill quickly after dying and re-spawning.
  • Various minor map fixes were made across multiple maps.

Gameplay Balancing:


  • Death Machine: 3 hit kill range increased.
  • Dragonfire: health increased, gun spread reduced.
  • AGR: ground speed increased, reduced machine gun close range damage.
  • Warthog: reduced missile delay.
  • Lodestar: reduced missile speed and AOE radius.
  • Swarm: drone re-spawn delay increased.


  • Hard Wired: Players with hard wired are now completely unaffected by EMP grenades.


  • Trophy System: increased range.


  • All + Silencers: reduced range.

Assault Rifles:

  • All: reduced idle sway.
  • M27: reduced amount of bullets to headshot kill at all ranges, increased 4-hit kill range.
  • Type25: reduced amount of bullets to headshot kill at all ranges, slightly reduced maximum hip fire spread.
  • SCAR: reduced amount of bullets to headshot kill at all ranges, slightly reduced maximum hip fire spread.
  • SIG556: penetration increased from medium to large, increased maximum number of bullets to kill at long distance and reduced burst delay.
  • TAR21: increased 3-hit kill range.
  • SMR: slight increase to damage so that 2 hit kills can still happen with minor penetration, headshot multiplier increased at long distance.
  • FAL OSW + Select Fire: increased recoil.
  • FAL OSW: increased hip spread.


  • All: ADS in and out time reduced.


  • SRM1216: slightly increased short range damage.


  • Executioner: increased medium range damage.

    Why can’t they increase TDM score to 125 per kill?

      Because TMD score per kill has always been and always will be 100 per kill. Why should it need to be changed to cater to the likes of the apparent one person?

        One person? Several big youtubers have made videos about it. It is immensely hard to get the bigger streaks and TDM is way too slow. Other gamemodes have different points from previous CoDs. TDM is just a campfest and I’ve never seen anything higher than a VSAT earned legitimately

          Then you must be in some low skill level lobbies. Not saying I’m a beast, probably lucky but I earned my VSAT, warship, and Dogs.

            I’ve played TDM for the majority of my 8 presitges. Highest I’ve earned was a Lodestar. In comparison with the other gamemodes it is way too difficult to get a decent scorestreak going. I’m not saying high killstreaks are impossible to get. If you get close to high scorestreaks and die, the score limit pretty much stops you from getting your score streaks later in the game

            Then play kill confirmed and be happy. You’ll get your scorestreaks a lot faster by getting kills and confirming them.

    Only thing I want is TDM score to be increased to 125 per kill

      I think they need to increase the max score to 100… it’s stupid that Kill Confirm when from 60 confirms -> 100 confirms but TDM is still 70 kills to win. Makes matches too short.

        Good idea, but TDM matches already take a long time to be completed. If the score limit is 100 it will easily take 12-15 minutes for a match to be completed

          Thus why they have the 10 minute limit… though not really sure about that since most of mine end between 6-8 minutes. My friends don’t sit still.

    The executioner is still awful, they really need to improve it, Also, I would love it if they made Domination like it was previously, without the half-time

      First they need to fix CTF to not have this BS double overtime and make it number of flags overall instead of number of rounds wins. Tie if you have the same flag caps at the end. Double overtime is just obnoxious.

    Treyarch really screw the SMGs, they just wanted us to used Stock attachment cause that attachment has been never used to any SMGs, at least Black Ops 1and MW3 has better patches and nerfs, but Treyarch has gone to fair.

      the smgs need a good nerf there still op compared to most guns in the game and im not talking about one gun im talking about all smgs, i like everything in this patch yay treyarch

        To be fair, the newer game map designs have catered way more to SMGs than to the other guns. All it takes is designing your maps too be harder to use SMGs on (not impossible, just harder) and people will stop using them always. For instance, make longer maps with 1 path with close quarters. Now you are catering towards snipers / AR. And I’m not saying they should design all maps like this, just that they need to start adding in variation.

          Why would you want to buff things like the B23R, R870, etc. R870 can one shot you from so far away, it’s not even funny. They should nerf it.

      Would be awesome if Hardwired also added more protection to your devices as well.. like needs +1 EMP grenade to take it out. But yeah, EMP grenades are retarded in this game, especially since they have a HUGE range and can hit through walls.

    calling in alighting strike is now glitched every now and game, the screen freezes and you have to call it in blind.

    They should put people who have full parties to play other parties not random solos its crap lol really it’s an issue a party can take down people who suck and there only being one good player maybe match skill level with one another more balanced

      Better idea: Stop making “League Play” a separate feature to the game when only ~3,000 people play it at any given time. Instead, put it into the main game for balanced matchmaking overall. Second, take the emphasis off of the badges (like show them but only if people go looking to see what they are). Finally, remove the “win based” system and actually base it on skill (and if you don’t believe me here, go look at the way they describe league play).

    Why the hell would they nerf the swarm… I usually get no more than 10-13 kills when I call it in, it needs a buff, not a nerf. And I wish they didn’t nerf lodestar.

    I find it interesting that there are STILL a lot of issues that haven’t even been touched, let alone addressed in this. For one, your own equipment still kills you even with flak jacket equipped. I think we can all agree that’s a pretty big mistake to keep over-sighting…

    And no patch for the ps3? Wow that’s a bummer! Ps3 needs the patch just as much as the xbox does. I think everyone on both consoles are having problems. Im just waiting and waiting for the next patch man. I wont give up on this game because I know it will be good by the end of the year, and hopefully lag comp is fixed by then too?

  • When I use my Black Hat, the little circle (crosshair) never comes up to aim with when I use it. I always have to guess where I am aiming it. Any Ideas to why this is happening.
