Activision has just announced the second Black Ops 2 DLC called “Uprising.” The DLC will be available April 16th on Xbox LIVE.

Take a behind-the-scenes look at “Uprising,” the second DLC Map Pack available for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Uprising includes four new Multiplayer maps (Magma, Encore, Vertigo, and Studio, a reimagining of the classic map Firing Range), as well as the frightening new Zombies adventure, “Mob of the Dead.”

Uprising arrives first on Xbox LIVE on April 16th, with other platforms to follow.

The official description of each of the content from the press release:

Following tradition of the original Call of Duty: Black Ops fan-favorite Zombies mode “Call of the Dead,” Call of Duty: Black Ops II Uprising’s wildly creative new “Mob of the Dead” Zombies experience finds the four prohibition-era mobsters, Billy Handsome (Liotta), Al “The Weasel” Arlington (Pantoliano), Salvatore “Sal” DeLuca (Palmentiri), and Michael “Finn” O’Leary (Madsen) serving time in Alcatraz Prison, only to discover that being behind bars is the least of their problems. With plans to break out of Alcatraz foiled by the rise of the undead, the quartet of inmates will have to lean on their mob-derived skills with firearms, blunt instruments and improvised weaponry as they battle the zombies infesting and overrunning the island. In order to survive, players must work their way through the steel cells and aging concrete buildings while fighting off a multitude of zombified prisoners and guards trapped on the island with them. Additionally, if a player becomes an unfortunate victim, “Mob of the Dead’s” new feature known as “Purgatory” sends players into the afterlife. This new twist on Zombies gameplay is ripe with its own set of objectives, and offers fans a truly new and unique experience.
Uprising also delivers another four new, exotic and diverse multiplayer maps set around the globe for fans to jump into. “Magma” is a modern Japanese village with volcanic eruptions carving multiple paths throughout the town. “Encore” takes place in the aftermath of a deserted London music festival and leaves numerous opportunities for run-and-gun, close quarters combat. “Vertigo” is a futuristic high rise in India housing a high-tech lab featuring dizzying vistas and multi-tiered pathways. Finally, “Studio” is a contemporary remake of “Firing Range,” a fan-favorite multiplayer map from the original Call of Duty®: Black Ops. “Studio” is a Hollywood movie back lot with a variety of cinematic themes that range from Sci-Fi to the Old West.

This map pack will be available on other platforms at a later date (roughly 30 days after Xbox 360).

    2:50 Thompson?! Fuck yea

  • Assof

    …First on Xbox Live

    • First on Xbox LIVE isn’t new. Been around since 2010.

      • Assof

        I know ^^ And that’s too bad

  • wonderin

They didn’t show us the new weapon! 🙁

    • Krystal

There isnt a new weapon. Not this time.

  • All maps actually looks good this time..

But it´s like throwing makeup on a pig.. If you don´t fix the main issues the ugly parts will always shine through. Focus on fixing the coding in the game and for the love of fuck, Raise the score in TDM to #125

    • incubusman421

Say wuuuut? Fixing the real problems would cost too much money and time. Activision has to be able to shit out the next game in a years time. No time for coming up with new software code…lol

      • Sexymonkey

Dude atleast Activision is better than EA. Think about it. its true that activision shoots out a new call of duty every year but they also do it because people demand it. And its true that they put tons of DLC for COD But atleast they dont force you to buy it. EA makes you buy an ONLINE PASS for every single game They make Unless if you buy it NEW. Even if a game Dosnt have online they still make you have to get some sort of pass. EA frekin makes you buy a DLC just to post replays on youtube in Skate 3. So dont be haten on Activision

    • It’s a lot different than most think. DLC team is separate than networking team. Activision sold a Season Pass – they are obliged to give 4 DLC map packs or else everyone will be complaining about that. – Other issues they do not have to rush if a fix isn’t ready. But, I have yet to see any Treyarch dev acknowledge lag issues or even mention it. IW with MW3 was much more open about it.

  • The Truth

Beautiful been waiting for a new map pack seems like forever. Was so bored looks like the excitement will return.

  • derpie

zombies–> red eyes!? Who’s in control?

    • The Flash

maybe no-one, perhaps that is there natural eye colour

      • Maybe it’s stulinger?

        • The Flash

but this takes places before they were even born, before anything to do with the story line we know

    • lMattW

In the trailer it said 1920’s to 1930’s, but that doesn’t really fit the rest of the zombie story, does it?

      • Cameron Graham

That’s the point. It’s an entirely new Zombies adventure! All new characters etc..

Most of the zombies maps have involved Time Travel, so nothing ‘Doesn’t Fit’..

        Example: Shangri-La!?

  • Banananna

  • MrHotShot118

No one is in control of the zombies this time red is the natural eye colour 🙂

    • SexyMonkey

First of all its Yellow and there was always someone in Control. It was first Samantha and now Ricthofen

      • Jake

Ricthofen made their eyes blue amrite?

    • Cameron Graham

Maybe Alcatraz was a testing ground for manufacturing the zombies virus!

      Think Raccoon City.

  • CoDBro69

What was the 1st LMG type gun in the M.O.T.D. Part?

    • Jake

      LSAT i think. But isn’t that a future gun? I’m confused :/

      • Zegnam

I believe it might just be a SAW, it would make sense since the LSAT is just a newer SAW

      • DanDustEmOff

It was the Thompson smg with a drum mag on it

  • Cameron Graham

Maybe Alcatraz Island was the testing ground for the Zombies virus, and the US was going to use it against the Germans.

  • Jake

I can see why this would be the most terrifying zombie map 😛 Freakin hanging people :/ Gives me the shudders

  • Chris

DLC 1 – Die Rise (Der Reise)

DLC 2 – Mob of the Dead (Call of the Dead)

    DLC 3 – Shangri-LOL (Shangri-La)

    DLC 4 – Six (Five)

    • TJ11

  • I hope Wii U gets DLC

    • Keshav Bhat

Activision’s latest info on that came in November. “We’re working with Nintendo on that”. Nothing since then. Sorry 🙁

  • thebulky1cometh

Is it me or does Encore look absurdly small?

    • Batman

      Its not just you

  • kacper1337

At around 2:42 when the zombies attack that person, im pretty sure that is Dempsey Maybe there is a story behind Dempsey, was he locked up in Alcatraz for whatever reason
