LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Let the games begin. Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard (Nasdaq: ATVI), kicked-off E3 early this year with an unprecedented live telecast to fans around the world, showcasing a first look at new gameplay from the upcoming Call of Duty®: Ghosts. Featuring an all-new world, new story, new characters and new experiences, all powered by a new, next-gen engine, Call of Duty: Ghosts is not only a stunning leap forward for the mega-hit franchise, but also showcases what’s possible on next generation consoles. Hosted by Spike TV’s Geoff Keighley and Internet personality iJustine, the live 30-minute broadcast titled “Call of Duty: Ghosts All Access” gave fans of the worldwide phenomenon the first chance to go behind the scenes with Activision’s acclaimed studio Infinity Ward, for a look at the upcoming title two days before the start of 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 Expo).
“Every year our team puts on an amazing production to showcase our games at E3, a spectacle that delivers an epic, immersive experience that takes your breath away. Yet all our fans aren’t able to be here and share in the moment,” said Activision Publishing CEO, Eric Hirshberg. “So, since our fans can’t come to E3, we’re bringing E3 to them. This year we’re making sure the Call of Duty community is first in line to see Call of Duty: Ghosts as we kick-off what’s going to be a historic week.”
Gamers saw the level “Into the Deep,” a beautiful and awe-inspiring underwater mission that pulses with lifelike realism and heart-pounding tension; “No Man’s Land,” an eerie glimpse at the aftermath of a world recovering from a catastrophic event, as well as the first chance for gamers to get their first peek at Riley, the new canine character in Call of Duty: Ghosts. The televised special, which was broadcast live on television on DirecTV, on consoles and on popular online outlets around the world, offered viewers a sneak peek at the gameplay a full two days before the industry commences its annual E3 conference. The global telecast also featured a series of interviews with members of the Infinity Ward development team, as well as Academy Award® winning writer Stephen Gaghan, who is penning the script for the new title.
Fans also got a sneak peek at a massive, immersive and unprecedented video wall built by Activision for show attendees on-site at E3. Call of Duty’s “Show Mode” experience also features state-of-the-art visual/sound effects, controlled pyrotechnics, wind, smoke and low-lying fog to highlight original Call of Duty content, providing a truly unique experience for attendees at the show.
With an amazing level of attention down to the smallest detail, where each hair is noticeable on character models, scratches and bruises are apparent, and even the dirt beneath fingernails of characters are recognizable, Call of Duty: Ghosts sets a new bar of visual fidelity and near photorealism without sacrificing any performance, maintaining the hallmark of 60 frames per second—on every platform—to provide that signature Call of Duty smoothness and gameplay.
“Our new tech is allowing us to deliver an absolutely stunning next generation Call of Duty experience on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, but that’s not all. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will reap the benefits of our new tech as well, which we believe will make this the most striking Call of Duty game ever created, regardless of what platform our fans choose,” said Infinity Ward, executive producer, Mark Rubin.
Call of Duty: Ghosts will release on Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and PC on November 5. Call of Duty: Ghosts will also release on the Xbox One, the all-in one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, and PlayStation® 4 later this year.

Looks really fun. I’m actually very interested in the story line this time around, the whole two brothers and their dog traveling together through a waste land. Very cool setting. I like the music and darker atmosphere.

    • ben wills

I would be but I’m betting they’re gonna kill the dog right before the last mission and you go on a revenge spree. Really cheap cop out for emotional reaction. Of course I don’t know for sure, but it seems to be a very likely possibility to which I just don’t care about this game at all. They should make the dog a legitimate badass character and instead of begging for emotional response, actually make him into something. Honestly the dog should be the next Price.

    • Adam

Play World at War for the dark atmosphere. That was heavy. All the Call of Duty campaigns have been good, people are just too busy hating the multiplayer but still playing it.

  • Batman

I just want to see the gameplay, the stream 240p quality sucks

    • Uzair Chief

You can set the quality to 720p. (The option is next to the sound volume icon)

      • Batman

        Mistakes were made…by me

  • Kevin Anthony Seepersad

i thought the water gun was supposed to shoot bolts ?

    • In real life it shoots those. but CoD doesnt care about “Real”

      • Jon Cameron

It’s a video game. Can we stop bashing on games for trying to be realistic while also not entirely being realistic?

  • youngsplud

i just want this game to use the 300aac honey badger

    • MeisseN

  • common sense

Don’t think I will be buying this cod, too many other awesome games to explore, destiny, watchdogs, gta V, planetside 2, battlefield 4. I have bought every cod since cod 2. About time for a change, and what better time than with a new console?

    • Batman

Planetside is a free to play game.

GTA V will not launch on next-gen consoles.

Destiny will NOT launch this year.

      I can´t argue with BF4 and watchdogs

      • LordPopo95

GTA V will launch on the next gen consoles. Remember at sony’s ps4 conference there was a huge list of devs that were developing for the ps4 and Rockstar games was one of them. It’s a safe bet that it will release on the ps4 and the pile of shit that is the xb1

        • Batman

No, they confirmed that it is current gen only. Rockstar at sony´s event was about another game, not GTA.

        • Keshav Bhat

No, GTA V isn’t coming to next-gen. CEO said they don’t think they need to at all.

  • Kevboy22

cod is to gaming websites as the miami heat are to sportscenter: they are ignorant and love them, but everyone else hates them.

    • MeisseN

      you sure not la lakers?

      • Madara

Miami Heat is COD as LA Lakers is to Battlefield.

        • MeisseN

          Haha well said!

  • t

why doesn’t your character ever talk? like wtf

    • LegitCryptic

I always say this at least treyarch knows how to make a guy talk.

      • TAKANYAN

Same, when Yuri in Mw3 died I really didn’t feel bad since I never really connected with him. But in BO I connected with Mason since he said words. I guess its similar to the way IW always uses the count bullet method, while TA uses the numbers.

  • Batman

Is it like MW or BO

    • Chris

They never show the HUD until about August.

      • Batman

With BO2 they showed on E3 gameplay reveal, same goes for MW3 and BO1

    • LegitCryptic

New difficulty hardcore= No HUD and less health just a wild guess

  • coolwhhhip

Wish I could watch the video.

  • Batman

One of the brothers will die.

    Riley can´t be killed

  • Zach

    Possible Multiplayer

    • Jacky Liang

Or even co-op/survival mode. The text on the right side of the screen seems like something in co-op or survival mode. Good catch regardless.

  • Zach

also possible day and night cycle

    • Batman

I think they just decided to change that scene to daytime

    • MeisseN

      Not likely in Singleplayer…

I hope so (In Black Ops 2 Multiplayer, I always wanted the maps to change the time of the day to Dawn, Noon, & Dusk. It would make new areas darker and other areas lighter. Maps would use artificial light like Plaza.
In future CODs, if not in this one (maybe).

  • Rob Schneider

  • Ray’

I’m actually more excited for Blops 2 DLC than I am for this game, just seems like MW with the addition of a controllable dog

  • Jarhead

Kind of annoyed to people who keeps on saying this game is shit because it’s not realistic like Battlefield. If I recall, games were made to escape “reality” and not enter another identical place similar to “reality”. I know that you heard this alot in YT comments, but instead of playing games and wanting reality, why not join the army? But it seems like that would be a illogical and wacky thing to do just wanting to shoot down enemies.

Also, IW just recovered from the MW2 scandal that happened in 2009. 30-50 members of the IW left and the other 50 stayed. Lets be logical here. Do you think that a 50 man studio can create an engine far superior to Frostbite? If you think so, then kill yourself.

Now, IW has 120+ members. If you’re thinking, why didn’t they made an engine yet if they have that much people? Well its simply because they need to adjust to each other to be able to work as a TEAM. Give this people time and I swear they would revolutionize FPS gaming once more. Hopefully we will see something totally new in the upcoming years.
