Infinity Ward has confirmed that the DLC pack will be available for purchase on February 27th, 2014 for $14.99 or part of the Season Pass for PSN and PC.

Call of Duty: Ghosts players on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC will have access to the first DLC Pack – Onslaught – on February 27, 2014.  Onslaughtdelivers four unique and classically designed Call of Duty multiplayer maps, the all-new “Maverick” dual-purpose Assault Rifle/Sniper Rifle, and the first installment in Extinction’s four-part episodic narrative, “Episode 1: Nightfall.”

New multiplayer maps in Onslaught include:

  • Fog: A chilling homage to classic horror films, set alongside the banks of a murky lake, players skilled enough to pick up the map’s unique Field Order can become the embodiment of evil and don the mask of Michael Myers, one of cinema’s most iconic horror characters, as the entire soundscape changes to the eerily familiar Halloween Theme music.
  • BayView: A coastal Californian boardwalk that offers players fast-paced run-and-gun gameplay amid a seaside town. Clever players will be able to climb onto the map’s moving trolley to engage enemies, as well as call in devastating artillery strikes from the Naval Destroyer anchored offshore.
  • Containment: This map drops players into a raging battle amidst a war-torn Mexican village, where the action centers on the crippled remains of a small bridge holding a hi-jacked truck leaking radioactive material.
  • IgnitionOnslaught’s fourth map is a completely reimagined version of “Scrapyard” – the fan-favorite multiplayer map from Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 2, placing players into a deserted space launch facility with frenetic action amongst abandoned warehouses, flame trenches, a massive transport crawler, and dynamic map elements that can take players out if they’re not paying close attention.

Onslaught arms players with the Maverick, a deadly new, dual-purpose addition to their multiplayer arsenal. Outfitted with a lightweight wood stock and a digital screen display, players can choose to use the Maverick as either an Assault Rifle or Sniper Rifle, depending on their tactical needs.

Anchoring Onslaught is “Episode 1: Nightfall,” the first installment in Extinction’s new, four-part episodic narrative. As the initial foray into this single, connected story that will be told across each DLC Pack launch throughout the year, “Episode 1: Nightfall” takes fans to a remote research facility hidden deep within the Alaskan wilderness, where a small recon team must infiltrate the facility to find out what happened to the mysterious Nightfall Program. This expanded Extinction storyline introduces new characters, plus two all-new alien species, and debuts an exclusive Venom-X weapon that pulverizes the Cryptids, as players delve deeper into the story of what happened following mankind’s first contact with the Cryptids in Colorado.

And, Sony has also announced that fans can preorder Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught DLC for PS4 or PS3 starting Thursday, February 6th, at 12pm PT.

Honest question – why would you preorder DLC? Does it download sooner that way? I got the DLC for Xbox One, and it was a 4 GIG download so it took awhile. Maybe I’ll preorder the next DLC if that’s the case

    • Mitch

Maybe download it while you’re not home?

      • Grigori

        That would be great!

        • Mitch

I just remembered you can do that will all downloable content for PS4. I think if you set up your PS4 right it will ever start automatically without asking you if you have the Season Pass.

    • Chris Mason

It doesn’t work that way for XB1. The preorder DLC is PSN/PS+ only. Don’t know if they get to play it before others who didn’t preorder, but this doesn’t apply to XB1 users.

Edit: Have you even considered downloading before you go to bed/school/work? That way you have a goal to look forward to.

      • Celest1ne

That’s what I do. I stayed up until 2 in the morning and downloaded it while I slept. Beats wasting your time waiting for it during the day.

        • Chris Mason

Smart move. I don’t let anything interfere will my sleep schedule. That’s serious business.

    • Brad Torville

Pre-ordering DLCs is rather stupid, IMO. And buying the Season Pass doubly so. If they offered a $20 discount, I might consider it but just to save $10, nope.

  • ElseAndrew

    I think you mean PS3/PS4 not PS3/PS3?

  • Tony Rambo

    What about PC???

    • GinsuVictim

      “What about it?”
      -Infinity Ward

    • John Blue

“Sony has announced that fans can preorder Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught DLC for PS4 or PS3 starting Thursday, February 6th, at 12pm PT.” I don’t see why they would say anything about PC

  • Ryumoau

wow…this was unexpected. i’m so glad they aren’t doing the month later thing anymore. I guess they saw the writing on the wall for microsoft.
Any idea if i buy the map pack by itself on ps3, while i also get the ps4 version as well? I’m not sure i want to buy the season pass yet.

    • Paok99

What do you mean? Xbox got this last week

      • Chris Mason

Ryu is a PlayStation owner. This doesn’t have anything to do with XBox.

        • Paok99

What I mean is that he said that he was happy that they werent doing the 1 month thing later, which I think he means that the dlc is not coming out 1 month later on playstation anymore?
Hope you understand me english is not my native language.

          • Chris Mason

Ah. Because I’m an XB1 owner, I really am not sure how preorder DLC works on the PS3/4. I am not sure if they get to download and play it any earlier than people who buy it on the 27th.

      • Ryumoau

you’re right. i misread the article. i thought this dlc was actually available on ps3 tomorrow but it actually just meant we could preorder it tomorrow. >_<

    • Chris Mason

I just recently purchased a season pass on X360 and (roughly) a week later upgraded to the XB1. When I went to the store I had to redownload the wolf skin (if I wanted it), festive Camo and season pass – but the season pass was free. I’m not sure how it carries over to PS3/4 or if you can buy the pack and the purchase will still carry over.

Season pass, however, did carry over. For what its worth.

      • jaunquan

        ummm accounts exist you know

  • I stopped playing CoD a few months ago, but I’m starting to get that itch to play again….ugh..

    • Siftblade of Rivia

Play for an hour and you’ll get sick of it again.

      • I know you’re right, but I’m going to put myself through it anyways 🙂 and then I’ll be back to bitching about it to anyone who will listen =D

        • MSTAR020

Haha I am thinking the same thing, I haven’t played since late december.

          • hashtagyolo

And yet here you are, posting on this topic… so sick of these annoying “i’m above the game” types…

          • i♥COD

not above the game types at all. still come here hoping to read news that theyve fixed the game so i can get back to playing. for me ghosts isnt enjoyable, the instant deaths took the skill out of it

          • Siftblade of Rivia

It’s not that I think I’m above COD, I just dislike COD Ghosts. I check back here news because I find it interesting. Waiting for BO3.

          • idi

Your name is Hashtagyolo. Fuck you.

    • Chris Mason

Bah. Don’t listen to him. Do it. You know you want to. Scratch that itch.

      • Oh you can bet I will, and then i’ll start bitching three minutes into the first match 😀

        • Chris Mason

I do that sometimes. Then, I go play HCKC with a Riot Shield, Kastet, 2 C4, 2 Thermos, Danger Close and Strong Arm. Sometimes being a dick is fun. Sometimes.

          • ZermbiesFurLife

I want someone to do that to you fagg,

          • Chris Mason

They have. Many times. And I’ve used my Mad Bomber class many times too. You mad?

    • AverageJoe

same here, first COD that i mananged to put the controller down! lacked that addictivness of a COD game.

  • Yea its ok,just forget the pc community…

    • errno

Yeah because it is Sony’s job to announce PC dates…

      • Who said im talking about Sony.

  • Baldmanz_RAGE

My dumbass bought the season pass. This will probably be the last dlc I’ll play for Ghosts because once Titanfall lands in March there won’t be anyone playing COD. Lol! This will be officially the beginning of the end for COD!

    • noobsdontlie

“Won’t be anyone be playing COD” yeah right, have you seen how big the community is? And titanfall is an xbox exclusive, unlike cod where it’s spread across all platforms, it’s gonna take until 2016-2017 for cod to begin dying

      • The Pope

        more like 2020-2025

    • The Pope

Titanfall will never end COD as its not cross platform.

      • Chris Mason

Titanfall, excluding its possible sequels, will never end COD as its not cross platform.

        Fixed that for you.

        • The Pope

still won’t end cod as many psn people will be put off from titanfall from them making the first exclusive to xbox and pc.

          • Chris Mason

Doubt it. Judging by the amount of people still asking for it to come to PS4. The hunger is real.

          • You never know. They might pull a bioshock and release a PS4 version in like 6 months.

        • Brad Torville

Let’s just hope Titanfall doesn’t fall flat on its face. They’re getting a lot of people’s hopes up. Mighty easy to fail to deliver as promised. We’ll see.

Not for me, though. Not a fan of Multiplayer only games.

          • Chris Mason

I consider myself to be a smart consumer. The only game I purchased that I was moderately disappointed by was Too Human, and that has been some time ago.

But, to touch on a comment I made weeks back, I’m 30. I come from a different generation of gamers. This game (Titanfall) will not meet 100% of my expectations. This is alright. I’ve heard how it plays, seen leaked Alpha gameplay, and stayed excited but not hyped up about it. When I get my hands on it, play it for a few weeks, and then decide what my thoughts are… then its up for discussion.

I know I’m not unique in how I “grade” a game, but seeing how some people on the internet voice their opinions (even though they are entitled to have an opinion) makes me feel pretty unique.

      • Guest

The only thing capable of ending COD would be another modern first person shooter. And I’m hoping Respawn Entertainment will actually make a modern fps at some point in the near future. Titanfall will be a good game and robots/titans are cool and all, but in the past for me at least: Halo could not compete with COD4/Modern Warfare. I’m guessing this will be the case here as well. It is not multi-platform game so all playstation users will continue to play COD and won’t even be taken a break. Titanfall will be a nice break for some on the Xbox, but most will come back to COD for modern military fps.

    • Mitch

LMAO, people said the same with BF3 and BF4. Didn’t happen, won’t happen now.

      • Baldmanz_RAGE

That was more of wishful thinking on behalf of the BF fanboys. Lol! I for one wish that COD can get their shit together but I think people are getting bored quicker with every yearly release. You are right COD won’t go anywhere but sales will continue to fall after the release of Titanfall.

    • John Blue

Hmm, personally I’m gonna be playing CoD, Titanfall and BF4 once I get my hands on the latter two.

I don’t see how they rule out each other somehow?

      • exeterman2

You should get bf4 now to take advantage of the community month

        • John Blue

Man, if I could, I’d have owned it from PS4 launch.

      • Chris Mason

Because liking one game means you cannot like the other. People that own CoD hate people that own BF. And the reverse is true. Its just the natural harmony of gaming.

        -The Internet Community

(Disclaimer, I own Ghosts and BF4. I do not approve of this way of thinking.)

        • John Blue

I know man… and I think even some people who own both and play both participate in these hatewars.

          • Chris Mason

Probably. I wouldn’t be shocked, in other words. Anonymity begets some shocking behavior.

    • Baldmanz_RAGE

COD won’t go anywhere but sales will continue to fall after the release of Titanfall. I don’t even own or every want to own a Xbox and I believe it was a good move on Microsofts behalf to lock down the rights to the game. On the flipside I think it was a ridiculous move on EA’s part to have that deal. They will lose out on so many sales from cross platforms!

    • ccrows

Meh you need to REMOVE the mechs and the jet packs before I’m remotely interested in TF.

But hey keep the hype machine going, since the disappointment will be just as bad as BF… (If not worse)

  • exeterman2

Cod really annoys me at the moment but I know that I will bow to the pressure of activision and buy the DLC -.- fml

  • some2example2

pre-order a digital download? that doesn’t even make sense.

is it even possible to run out of downloading a digital file.

sorry boys, no more downloads, infinity ward as reached it’s data cap for the month.

    • bRyan

Because you are an Xbox person you are oblivious to us playstation users. Preorder means you can download it prior to release and then as soon as it “launches” it will already be ready for you to play. I hope you meant it as a joke but some people consider it a valid question.

      • Chris Mason

I’m with you, my friend. And I am an Xbox person.

        • bRyan

Not the response I usually get from Xbox fanboys. I salute you

  • Jackobeeno

I am personally an Xbox player, but really they are releasing this a month later!? How about the same time, or if they can’t do that, maybe a week later? Come on a month is too long!

    • Chris Mason

I understand your stance, but you have to understand its just business. Because Microsoft struck a timed exclusivity deal, this is how it works. Its not a personal attack to PS owners. Its a selling point for Microsoft. There’s no room for personal feelings in business.

      • Brad Torville

Microsoft seems to forget (when convenient) that PC users also are Microsoft customers — not only Xbox users. Yet we (PC users) always get shafted right along with the PS3/4 users in having to wait for nearly anything DLC-related when it comes to CoD games. Getting rather tired of this.

  • Iwan

Can I pre-order it with season pass?

  • Anonymous

Pre Order a Expansion Pack?! Are you serious? They are getting real desperate. How about you wait till you release the dlc to get your money. Preorder dlc, how pathetic!

  • iAmHunterific

Uh, Onslaught is already available on my PS4 and my PS3 LOL!

  • S Tye

i just got killed by someone with a maverick. wtf. i want mine.

  • Allen Greathouse

Yeah this one of the many reasons i have’t played ghosts since last november. Fuck you, Activision and IW for being sellouts.

  • mike

Says if u pre order on the ps4 you get free x
    mb theme???

  • mike

Do we get free xmb theme on the ps4 if we buy the season pass

  • Ryanbo

If your gonna make ps users wait you should lower the price or not charge for it. I’m not complaining but I’ve been excited to use the onslaught I pre ordered.

  • Whoo whoooooooooo tommorow1

  • Bornitalian Iz Live

Why xbox get shit before us? Stupid as shit
