During Activision Blizzard’s Investor Day Call, Activision Blizzard has announced that they have created an all new studio – Activision Blizzard Studios – to develop film and content based upon their IPs. In the announcement, they have stated that they are developing a movie for the Call of Duty franchise, which is set to see its theatrical release in 2018/2019.

Another near-term initiative for Activision Blizzard Studios will be the development of a robust cinematic universe based on the Call of Duty franchise. Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare remains the number one-selling title on next-generation consoles and today marks the launch of the highly-anticipated new Call of Duty®: Black Ops III. Activision Blizzard Studios envisions a series of Call of Duty feature films as well as the possibility of television adaptations.

This all new studio’s co-president is Nick van Dyk, who was the Senior Vice President of corporate strategy and business development at The Walt Disney Company and chief strategy officer at Artisan Entertainment. His partner in leading this studio will be announced at a later date.

“Activision Blizzard Studios has the unique advantage of starting with a library of world-class intellectual property that includes some of the largest franchises which have not yet been developed in film and television,” van Dyk said, adding, “Activision Blizzard Studios is not just an exciting new business for our company, it is a synergistic complement to our core business. Our movies and shows will benefit from the remarkable IP created in our games and will further increase the awareness of, engagement with, and passion for our franchises.”

  • Money Boy

I expected that to happen sometime.

  • Curtdjs15/CurtisMain

    Still no halo movie gg

    • BradyAlucard[sillibk]

      Who’d want that shit?

      • Felipe Rios

        What?? Thats preposterous!!

  • FazalGaming

LMFAO movie for cod? no ty.

    • HomePolecat96

I’ll see it for the lols.

  • I hope it isn’t animated or what they’re doing with the World of Warcraft movie and adding an abundance of CGI. I’d like it to be more like the fan films we saw that were made like Operation Kingfish. If they just took the Modern Warfare series and made that into a movie I’d be perfectly okay with that. They don’t need to make a new story to wow me. Just put what I experienced and retell it in Live-action.

Activision wants it to be known that they have a shit ton of money to waste on dumb shit… Oh well…

  • Guywithbrains

A couple of annoying things in Black Ops 3 (most of them can be fixed): lag, inconsistent time to kill, camping and head glitching.

Still solid 8.5/10 for now. Amazing game!

    • Really disappointed with the Campaign. The first few missions were promising, but the rest of it was just… meh. I honestly expected more from Treyarch, as they have had the best CoD Campaigns.

      • Holy shit, I’m not the only one.

The missions felt too long and combat was really boring and bland and although it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t good, just a big old ” meh “.
In BO2 something about it kept me actually playing for fun through the campaign rather than just to beat the game for nightmares.

        • Michael Owen Caffrey

I enjoyed the campaign it was awsome seeing all the psycological warfare it gave them alot of room to work, and honestly the ending was pme of the best ive seen from cod but this is all just in my opinion

    • CoDforever

even with 500 score for uav there is still quite a bit of uav spam

  • RdJokr

… So you’re basically making a war movie in the style of The Expendables then? Right, because that’s going to work soooooo well.

If the history of video game-based movies can tell you anything, it’s that it’s always a bad idea.

    • Kyle Soule

I think it would be pretty cool if they made a Treyarch zombies based movie.

  • Drink Bleach

Don’t do it, it will fail.

    • ccrows

This will be bigger than Star Wars brah… 😉

^ (I couldn’t even say that with a straight face – I at least tried though)

      • jooker-jr

        But what if …?

  • ccrows

    No *sigh* just no.

Video game movies (in general) are just awful…

  • jordanxbrookes

Would love a Call of Duty film, but you know how bad films based off of videogames are.

    • alex

      • CoDforever

its not out yet so dont get too excited

        • alex

I don’t know a thing about WoW but that trailer looked pretty good

  • ccrows

Somebody takes a few bullets, and before he dies screams, “That was BS, I shot him first!”

Is there gonna be a scene with a squeaker QSing with a SR?

Will people avoid the main objective in the movie, and just go for kills too?… 😉

    • infidel

I want to see a scene where a bunch of treyarch fanboys bitch about Ghosts and AW because they can’t trickshot in those games. Then, some retard comes around with a vonderhaar waifu pillow and a shirt that says “Treyarch, save Us!” and starts reading out loud a 40 line hate comment on COD ghosts and why he sucks at it, I mean why it sucks in general

  • John

If it’s something like this, i would love it

    • GinsuVictim

Man I’ve been looking forward to that movie!

  • jooker-jr

Activision is the king of games ( pun intended ), and now they want to take of Hollywood, sounds like the illuminati to me.

  • alex

Hey make a trilogy of the modern warfare series, and I’m in

  • Jason_88

They need to make a zombies movie with the O4!!!

  • Ryumoau

This might sound cliche but i’d be interested in a Michael Bay directed CoD movie. I tend to enjoy most of his films that aren’t involving transforming car robots. lol

  • Random guy

  • Kyle Soule

They would probably sell asds and dlc so that you can find out what happens next.

  • Will

better make a nice romance story of Soap and Price
