A new PR released from Activision Europe has revealed that the 2016 Call of Duty Championship event will have a $1.6 million prize pool. This prize pool will be the highest prize pool ever for a Call of Duty Championship event. Previously, the event had a $1 million prize pool.

Those who perform best will also find themselves one step closer to qualifying for the Call of Duty Championship this autumn, where they’ll have the chance to earn a stake of the $1.6 million prize.

In total, the Call of Duty World League will award over $3 million in 2016 between the Pro Division, Challenge Division, and Call of Duty Championship.

The Call of Duty Championship event will take place later this year. Activision has not yet announced dates for the event. Stay tuned for more info.
