Infinity Ward has revealed that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s campaign will feature a seamless transition feature that allows players to move from on the ground missions to space combat and back with few or no loading screens.

Many parts of the campaign – from boots-on-the-ground, to piloting a jet fighter, to zero-g and space combat – will occur as a near seamless, action packed experience with few visible loading times, and delivers the signature, blockbuster franchise moments that fans love.

In a follow up interview with IGN, Jacob Minkoff (Infinity Ward’s Design Director) stated that these new transitions provide for a “completely holistic” experience for the players.

Specifically, he said, “you can be boots on ground, fighting through the streets of a city on earth, call down your Jackal, get into it, fly up through the atmosphere, engage in a dogfight over the orbit of earth, finish that dogfight, land on the deck of the carrier, get into the carrier, go up to the bridge, and order your ship to go to the next mission and all of it happens seamlessly with no loading screens.”

  • ghosts sucks

    Furst – that

  • ghosts sucks

    Is dope

  • This is Multiplayer related, but I hope paintjobs come back in Infinite Warfare.

    • I felt I only used that feature in the Beta. I never see a single person in-game with a paintjob on. I think it’s due to people wanting to show off their gun progress (Camo challenges), and due to the area limitation that the paint job can be applied to

      • Mitch

Yeah. What they should maybe do is instead of Dark Matter have a full camo customizer. That’d be awesome.

      • I always used it. I feel like it should come back. I wasn’t really fan of any of the camos in BO3

    • Scott

Should have create a camo. I didn’t like how the paint shop feature only covered a small portion of your gun.

      • Yeah Infinity Ward could actually improve upon it and take it one step further than just covering three parts of the gun. Either way, I like for it to come back.

        • DeadZombieGaming 12

Wouldn’t that make camos literally useless?

      • Rorke File

I hope this game will be customization only, but I really doubt that.

  • Eric H

    that’s nice but jetpacks

    • Aidan

Honestly, people find the smallest things to complain about. Why are people surprised that there are jetpacks if its something we’ve had for 2 years in a row?

      • Ciaran

lol. Maybe he just doesn’t like it……its that simple.

Shut up pussy, you can’t even take an insult

        • Bengal Tigger

          maybe he’s a faggit who can’t adapt

          • top lel

          • Ak74u

Nobody likes jet packs that’s why cod is going to shit it’s not halo

          • Bengal Tigger

but come on BO3 weren’t that bad, you can adapt easily to the movement. AW’s was the trashiest though, okay for like 1st week then BLEURGH!

          • Ak74u

Bo3 isn’t bad only AW Exo suits

  • Sounds exciting, can’t wait to experience it.

  • Sentinel

    God’s Speed!!!

  • KernosT

So this is kind of my idea of how the story is gonna be(feel free to add your thoughts)
The SDF are good military organization at first send to different planets in order to create human settlements by building cities and creating protection for humans etc etc…Their commanding officer goes rogue and with him the entire SDF(as Reyes said,Military radicals) and they from other planets use their resources to build warships etc and attack the earth, take over The SATO defense grid which protects whole of earth. We play as SCAR(Naval spec Ops force) along with our team mates Reyes,Rodriguez,Saltner(The sarkeesian) and we the player. And then its upto us along with SATO,UNSA to get rid of SDF from earth and destroy their warships in space and other planets.I think this is what they mean by you can choose your missions on the go and fight with your Jackal seamlessly.

  • Aziz Peregrino-Brimah

Sounds and looks like Destiny to me.

    • Bengal Tigger

      So what

      • Aziz Peregrino-Brimah

So that’s a good thing. Boom.

  • Michael Romo

No loading screens = lag + system overheating

    • grimm joww

    • Red.P90

You must have the original xbox 360. Well good news for you Infinite Warfare won’t be on last gen so now you won’t get the red ring of death. Cheers M8!

      • Michael Romo

Trust me. My PS4 almost sets fire after playing Zetsubou No Shima, and it’s brand spankin new. I just got it a month ago because I gave my other one to my brother

        • Red.P90

Well if you haven’t already heard the news a new ps4 is coming out with better hardware. I got my ps4 a year ago but if you just bought you’re ps4 I feel bad for you. GG

No loading screens just means hidden loading screens really, we’ve seen it all before. With this it seems like the transition from atmosphere to space will be where the loading screen is hidden. It’s an old trick.

    • Ghaster

True…its actually loading the assets for the planet in the background but all games with “No Loading Screens” do that to be fair.

    • jordanxbrookes

Yeah, just like the Going Hunting mission in Battlefield 3. Up through the cloud cover, then screen goes white for about 5 or so seconds before the next part loads up and the cloud cover disappears.

    • like the coalescence logo in black ops 3 when switching between the safehouse and the missions

  • Ghaster

Wow i have to say if they execute this Campaign properly when it comes to the story and actually making it a somewhat grounded mature tale without any cheesy Antagonists(Rorke) and make the Antagonists have proper motivation for their deeds it could turn out to be one of the most memorable ones to date…BO3 was crap….AW was too predictable, so lets see what IW can cook up with Infinite Warfare.

    • DeadZombieGaming 12

AW was so fucking predictable even when it was revealed… Kevin Spacey saying ”and that’s where i come in” was so obvious

  • Red.P90

(Felt like reposting this on other threads)
It’s funny how people are like, “I’m only buying this for cod 4.” But then you’ve probably haven’t even played cod 4. I’ve been playing cod since cod 3 on the mother fucking wii xD, and I’ve adapted. Don’t get me wrong, AW was one of if not the worst cods in the franchise, but it wasn’t terrible, it was just the ‘worst.’ This cod looks great so far, and I bet the multiplayer will be great too. Bo3 isn’t bad, the hitdetection and lag compensation is utter bs, but when everything works it becomes a truly wonderful game. Trust me, I’m just as excited as most of you are for cod 4, but then (for those of you that have played it) you will come to realize it’s all nostalgia. I went back to play cod 4 on the pc a while ago and it was the most basic game ever! Cod 4 now is literally a browser fps flash game XD. So many games are based off the cod 4 formula because of it’s success and cod 4 now is just boring. I’ll play the remaster and let the nostalgia sink in, but when it’s gone it’s gone. I just hate it when people don’t let themselves have their own opinions and just let others think for them. Here’s a tip, be yourself, don’t let others choose what you should think, or who you should be. I have a feeling IW has done a great job with this game. I’m hyped!

    • GreenLungs

Ghosts was worse imo, some valid points though

      • Underdog BO1 FTW!

AW was the worst cod. Ghosts is playable… you can always vote for small maps

    • Liked AW but agree with most of it

    • lotterry

You sound like a paid troll.

      CoD 4 was simplistic.

Now CoD is made for kids.

      Activision is scumfuck

Next BF preview coming out May 6th

      • Red.P90

        Have fun playing battlefield!

  • LovekillerX

This isn’t open world MMO. Loading screens are fine. I loved the mission briefings in Modern Warfare series for example.

  • Rark Mubin

No Mans Sky – visit hundreds of planets on a seamlessly endless universe.

Infinite Warfare – no loading screens.

LMAO at how pathetic Call of Duty has become.

    • snake56

No Man’s Sky is a vaporware.

    • Comparing CoD and NMS…gg

    • Wraith

That’s like comparing Skyrim to CoD4. One’s an open world game, one’s a linear shooter. I don’t see how you can even draw comparisons.

    • DeadZombieGaming 12

You are literally comparing a FPS game known for it’s amazing Multiplayer to a seamless Open World game.

  • ŁŸRØ

Slowly and slowly I’m taking in everything and processing it and what I get is that it’s semi open world but with a forced campaign at the same time
