PlayStation announced this morning that they are integrating MLG GameBattles directly into the PlayStation 4 start menu, to allow players to quickly create teams, find GameBattles matches, and be placed directly into a Call of Duty: WWII lobby with the settings enabled of the GameBattles match.

PlayStation worked with Activision, Sledgehammer Games, High Moon Studios, and MLG to integrate GameBattles fully into the PlayStation 4 menus. The feature is available in America and select Asia regions. This system will have MLG GameBattles’ 2v2, 4v4, and 6v6 tournaments available to sign up for.

Through the PS4 Events and Tournaments platform, you can now create and manage teams of up to 100 members including your friends, family, and favorite players on PlayStation Network. Once you setup your team, registering and participating in any of the featured Call of Duty: WWII events is as quick as a few button presses. Included in your team setup is team-specific chat, unique banners and logos, and complete tracking of your gameplay history and events you and your team have participated in.

Beyond this, the new system is also directly integrated with Call of Duty: WWII. If you find a MLG GameBattles match, accept it in the PS4 start menu, you can then press “Join Lobby” to have the game and system automatically set up the GameBattles lobby inside of Call of Duty: WWII.

Once you have chosen an event, registered, and checked-in, getting into gameplay is completely automated. Call of Duty: WWII and the Tournaments platform will automatically match your team with your opponent, setup the match types (including map rotation, rule set, etc.), and place you directly into the game lobby after you click “Join Match” from the PlayStation Tournaments section or directly within Call of Duty: WWII’s menu screen.

But what about when the match is over you ask? Again, the integration work done between our development teams ensures that your results are automatically reported, verified, and finalized without ever having to enter the results. This makes moving to your next match (Hopefully you won!) smooth, quick, and accurate, with no manual input or verification needed.

Pretty sure xbox players wont care its not integrated, n i’m pretty sure ps4 players wont care that it is integrated .. no big deal either way

pubg is coming…call of duty is no longer the must have game..battle royales are taking over right in front of you homie

      • XBOXisDEAD

so lets see spend $500 for a Xbox to play pubg LOL COD is not dead people say this every year go look at sales

        • Imventing

compare the sales of pubg when it drops(to xbox only anyways). i love cod and i play fortnite way more.

        • Cod isn’t dead but it’s not what it used to be, shit game after shit game will do that to a franchise

        • Beast Mode

How bout we spend $500 on a better console that plays ww2 the best as well as having pubg? And i looked at sales and battle royales took over. Ww2 cant compete with fortnite or pubg. Look at the twitch rankings bum

        • BradyAlucard

I don’t doubt that people in 2018 Xbox One gamers will be spending either $250 or $500 to play PUBG, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3, and Halo 6 and PS4 gamers will be playing Ni No Kuni 2, Shadow of the Colossus, God of War, Spiderman, Days Gone, Yakuza 6, etc. There are games for everyone.

“battle royales are taking over right in front of you”

^ Hmmmm, where have I heard this before? OH yeah that’s right, jetpacks and wall running are taking over with FPS, and this COD thing with boots is dead!

Sure COD WWII has issues ATM, but I have a hunch that a lot of people will looking forward to Treyarch’s game next year that’s going to be “boots”… 😉

        • Beast Mode

Lol what dont you get? Battle royales have already taken over…go look for yourself ignoramus

          • ccrows

Sure you can say, PUBG did great on PC, and Fortnite (I’m sure being free didn’t help that at all, nah) did great on console, but that might get stale too.

^ The best analogy that I can give to you is tablets. You know “the device” that was gonna take over computers. Everybody ran out and got one, and while it’s great for streaming vids, it never did replace a smartphone or PC did it?

That’s kinda like Battle Royale. It’s a mode that’s gonna start out strong, but a year from now I’ll be curious to see how popular Battle Royale’s are going to be when Treyarch 2018 comes out… JMO

Ipads did takeover in the medical field. Thats all doctors use. Face it..cod is not the franchise it once was. They see it thats why they tapped into battle royale with cod online. Fortnite and pubg are just the beginning then later something else will take over.

          • ccrows

OK, and you know what else doctors still use? Pagers.

I do agree that COD is not the same, but EVERY SINGLE YEAR people scramble to find “the COD killer” even back when COD was actually quite good.

Whether or not the yearly COD is good, many people hate on it because it’s still popular. It’s been going on for 8+ years now…

Because of CoD? Xbox isn’t doing well exclusives-wise but they’re doing very well in other factors. The only thing I can really criticize is them caring more about controllers this year than games, but I’m an optimistic person.

Console Wars died back in the early 90s, get with the times… <_<

      • BradyAlucard

        Console wars never existed.

        • ccrows

Apparently you weren’t alive, or never got the memo about SG vs SNES console wars in the early 90’s.

Too many gaming magazines were pushing it, and a lot of people were like, “You running SG or SNES bruh?”

Still don’t get why people do it. Having 2 dominant consoles, actually helps console gaming.

^ When console companies compete against each other, consumers win…

          • GinsuVictim

Yeah, if there were to be only one console, we’d all be fucked.

          • ccrows

If Sony wasn’t around, XB1 would still have a forced Kinect purchase, always on internet requirement, no borrowing of used game, and would cost more to buy.

If XB1 wasn’t around, Sony’s online experience wouldn’t be as good, and would cost more to buy.

Yet, some of these clowns still think that gaming would be better if Microsoft or Sony would die… *SMH*

          • ScOott

Xbox just needs to release some decent AAA games, I mean tomorrow is going to be the first time i boot up my xbox in a long time, I’m not even sure I’ve turned it on this year, PUBG should be good, but they need to step up there exclusive game.

I got my xbox first cuz i preferred the exclusives on it at the time, n preferred what was coming out, Sunset Overdrive is still one of my fave games this gen, n was considering getting the Xbox X but cant do it, till they have the games, I mean they got the most powerful games console just nothing to play on it exclusive wise.

          • GinsuVictim

Exclusives aren’t the majority of what people play, third party games are. The Xbox One X is the best way to play them.

          • ScOott

Yh i understand that, but having no exclusives is a effecting it for sure, I speak to people at work who r on ps4 n they not willing to get an xbox one cuz they can play everything on ps4 and more….

I mean if u just own the Xbox, n buy a ps4 there’s plenty of exclusive games to warrant that purchases n plenty that are coming in the future for ps4..

I’m not trying to bash xbox, one of my most anticipated games is xbox exclusive (state of decay 2) n one of my top 3 game this gen is xbox exclusice (sunset overdrive) n ive started work early today so i can finish early so i can go try pubg out, but injecting a bunch of new AAA games should really be a priority for Microsoft now to compete with the ps4 games coming out next year.

          • BradyAlucard

I’m saying that the console wars have always been fake, made up by fans in order to tell someone their piece of plastic is better than someone else’s.

  • BradyAlucard

Why not an article about Drift0r saying that SBMM exists for a fact?

    • Funyun

It onlly matters if your KD or SPM is high. If it’s low then won’t matter. If anything it helps lesser players avoid really good players. You must have high kd to be worried about it. Mine is only 0.78 so i’m not sure SBMM is a bad thing as it’s not gonna be too many players worse than me lol.

      • BradyAlucard

Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get rid of it.
