It appears Activision/Treyarch is experimenting with new ways to add microtransactions in Call of Duty with a direct way to purchase select new Specialist outfits in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
There are two options available for the new Specialist gear sets, which fans can find in the Black Market in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3:
- Purchase a Contract for 300 COD Points. This activates a certain contract (i.e. win 15 games) to unlock the outfit.
- Purchase the outfit directly for 600 COD Points. This allows you to directly buy the selected outfit using COD Points.
There is no option to use Cryptokeys to get these; it is with Call of Duty Points only.
This could be a new way that Activision is looking to bring micro DLC for Call of Duty and could preview what’s to come in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Many fans have disliked the supply drop system, and this new way provides fans in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 to directly get the outfit they want — without the RNG stuff.
