Best Warzone assault rifle loadouts

We’ve placed every Call of Duty: Warzone Assault Rifle into a ranked list and counted down the top AR loadouts you can run in Season 6

Assault Rifles are a staple in Call of Duty. Capable of dealing severe damage at almost any range, they’re the go-to for most players. They’re especially prominent in Warzone for their versatility, and through the Gunsmith system, you can build them any way you like.

With every season and update, Warzone’s meta shifts. The Season 6 update didn’t make many impactful changes, but some popular choices have been hit.

Here’s a ranked list of every AR in Warzone Season 6 and loadouts for the top five.

Best AR in Warzone ranked list

This is our comprehensive list of every AR in Call of Duty: Warzone, and we’ve ranked them in ascending order to let you know which ones are worth using.

Unfortunately, Season 6’s Grav doesn’t quite make the top five due to its low magazine size giving it poor damage-per-mag. But, with the right loadout, it’s still well worth a try in Solos and Duos.

Here is every Warzone Assault Rifle in Season 6 ranked:

  1. Cold War AK-47
  2. XM4
  3. FARA 83
  4. QBZ-83
  5. Grau 5.56
  6. CR-56 AMAX
  7. M4A1
  8. Grav
  9. AS VAL
  10. C58
  11. EM2
  12. Krig 6
  13. RAM-7
  14. M13
  15. Kilo 141
  16. FFAR 1
  17. Groza
  18. Oden
  19. AN-94
  20. FN-SCAR
  21. FAL
  22. FR 5.56
  23. Modern Warfare AK-47

Best Warzone AR loadouts

Here are the best Assault Rifles to use in Verdansk ’84 and Rebirth Island in Warzone Season 6.

These AR loadouts suit a range of different playstyles, whether you’re using it as a long-range beamer on Verdansk or for taking on any fight Rebirth Island throws at you.

5. Grau 5.56

The Grau 5.56 has long been a fan-favorite weapon, and nerfs to Cold War guns over the past couple of seasons have brought it back to the spotlight.

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Tempus 26.4″ Archangel
  • Muzzle: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 60 Round Mags

What makes the Grau so powerful is its accuracy. Now that the zero-recoil Krig has finally been nerfed, the Grau could quickly become the go-to choice for players looking for an easy-to-use Assault Rifle. Plus, it can be fitted with the Fully Loaded Perk to help you out in a pinch.

4. QBZ-83

You may be surprised to see the QBZ-83 on this list. The changes made back in the Season 4 Reloaded update catapulted it to be one of the best Assault Rifles in the game.

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 15.5″ Task Force
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: STANAG 60 Rnd Drum

The QBZ had long been considered one of Warzone’s worst Assault Rifles, but that all changed. Its minimum damage was increased, and its torso damage multipliers made it the most underrated weapon.

With these attachments, it’s effortless to control and has a competitive TTK to boot. We don’t think it feels as nice as the weapons above it on this list, but you may have a ton of success while using it in Season 6 – particularly in Rebirth Island.

It did have some trouble with hitching in Season 5, but that was fixed in the Season 6 update.

3. FARA 83

The FARA 83 dominated Warzone until the Season 4 Reloaded update, where a nerf to its recoil control has just edged it out from the top spot. Following the September 15 and Season 6 updates, the FARA has become an incredibly viable choice again.

  • Muzzle: Suppressor
  • Barrel: 16.7″ Spetsnaz RPK Barrel
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: Spetsnaz 60 Rnd

With almost no recoil and solid damage, the FARA 83 is an extremely easy weapon to use. Fans of the Grau 5.56 and Kilo 141 metas will enjoy using this build as it can simply laser enemies at range with a competitive TTK up-close.

While it doesn’t have the recoil control it once did, it didn’t get nerfed too hard on September 15, so it’s become a great option again.

2. XM4

After several updates in the run-up to Season 6, the XM4 has entered the limelight again.

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 13.5″ Task Force
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: STANAG 60 Rnd

The XM4 is a great all-rounder that will suit you as both a long-range beamer and a medium-range Sniper Support. You won’t have any trouble controlling the recoil, and it hits hard enough to compete with some of the harder-hitting weapons in the game.

When hitting headshots, the XM4 has one of the fastest TTKs in the game, and with its straight vertical recoil, you shouldn’t have any trouble keeping it under control.

1. Cold War AK-47

The Cold War AK-47 seriously fell down the rankings in Season 4 and 5 but has become the best choice in Season 6.

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 27.4″ Ranger
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: 40 Rnd

Although not as easy to control as some other weapons on this list, the AK-47 absolutely slaps. It has a fantastic TTK, and the recoil pattern is manageable for the majority players, so it’s very difficult to go wrong with this classic CoD Assault Rifle.

Also, you can build it for more close-range fights if you’d instead use it alongside some of the best Sniper Rifles in the game.

Bring any of these ARs into Verdansk ’84 in Warzone Season 6, and you’ll find yourself using some of the best weapons in Call of Duty’s battle royale.

Aydan shows off “overpowered” Warzone Gulag jump spot

Warzone pro Aydan has found a useful jump spot in the Season 6 Gulag that you can use to get the drop on your enemies.

Published

on

Call of Duty superstar Aydan ‘Aydan’ Conrad likes to make use of different strategies, and he has shown off an “overpowered” Warzone Gulag spot that players can take advantage of for better shots.

Warzone Season 6 introduced plenty of new content and brought back the OG Gulag to Verdansk. Players often struggle in the Gulag because it’s challenging, so they have to strategize.

Warzone star Aydan made use of a specific jump spot in the Showers Gulag that grants players a tactical advantage over their opponents and lets them take the enemy by surprise.

Aydan was battling his opponent in the Gulag for the chance to jump back into Verdansk. In his stream, he was able to secure victory by employing a brilliant tactic that’s become possible in the new Warzone season.

Players can now climb on top of a Shower and nobody in the Gulag will expect you to be up there. This seems to be a new addition in Season 6, and the verticality gave Aydan a huge advantage.

He was able to shoot his opponent through the bars after heading to the jump spot on top of the Showers and come out of the Gulag victorious.

Since this is a fairly new change, many players are probably not aware that it’s possible to try out this tactic. However, Aydan has a fairly huge following, so we expect this to change soon.

In fact, a few other players have already started sharing their own experiences with this trick among the rest of the community. One player posted a similar clip to Aydan’s in the Warzone subreddit.

After jumping on the showers, they were able to shoot down their enemy from above and win the Gulag. Many of the commenters were shocked to see this new change but welcomed it.

You can easily try out this trick to take your enemies by surprise the next time you’re in the Gulag. There are also some other top tips that you can remember to win Season 6 Gulag every time.

Warzone Season 6’s 10 most popular weapon loadouts

The most popular Warzone weapon loadouts in Season 6 have been revealed, so here’s the top 10, and their most popular attachments.

Published

on

Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6’s most popular weapons and their attachments have been revealed, so we’re counting down the top ten loadouts as of October 18, 2021.

As is standard for Warzone, the meta is constantly changing. Updates in Season 6 hit some of the most powerful and popular weapons hard, so a new, open meta has formed.

Warzone’s devs have explained how they’re trying to lower time to kill across the board to increase the skill gap and did so by decreasing the damage of some of the most powerful weapons.

This has caused a major change in certain weapon’s popularity, and thanks to WZRanked.com, we can see Warzone Season 6’s most popular weapons: so we’re counting down the top ten, along with the most popular attachments.

Warzone’s most popular guns & loadouts

10. FARA 83 – 4.04%

The FARA 83 has come and gone from the meta as the seasons go on, but its place in the meta is currently up in the air. It climbed to popularity after the Krig was nerfed in Season 5 Reloaded, but also took a hit in the September 15 update.

Even though it’s not the absolute laserbeam it once was, it’s still one of the best Assault Rifles in Season 6. It’s an excellent combination of accuracy and damage, being a great middle-ground between the AK-47 and XM4.

Most popular FARA 83 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 18.7″ Spetsnaz RPK Barrel
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
  • Ammunition: Spetsnaz 60 Rnd

9. Cold War MP5 – 4.05%

Black Ops Cold War’s MP5 has never really cemented its place in the meta, with a plethora of buffs and nerfs allowing other weapons to take its place.

However, the OTs 9 and Bullfrog have undergone slight nerfs, opening up the meta. Cold War’s MP5 still hasn’t replaced these two SMGs but has re-entered the top ten most popular thanks to its close-range slaying potential and manageable recoil.

Most popular Cold War MP5 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Stock: Raider Stock
  • Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip
  • Ammunition: STANAG 50 Rnd Drum

8. Bullfrog – 4.40%

The Bullfrog was previously the most popular SMG but after Raven Software nerfed its mobility, its fallen down the pecking order slightly.

Still, with a large magazine size and high headshot damage multiplier, the Bullfrog suits a wide range of skill levels and playstyles. If you’re an aggressive sniper, the Bullfrog is an excellent option for Sniper Support.

Most popular Bullfrog Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 7.4″ Task Force
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
  • Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip

7. Grau 5.56 – 4.76%

When Warzone was first released in March 2020, the Grau 5.56 was king. With almost no recoil and the cleanest Iron Sight the game had to offer, almost every player ran the Grau. Now in Season 6, it has avoided the nerfs that have hit other ARs, so has remained a popular choice.

The majority of players now use the Grau as their ‘Fully Loaded’ weapon, which they can take to get full ammo when grabbing a loadout after returning from the Gulag.

Most popular Bullfrog Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Tempus 26.4″ Archangel
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 60 Round Mags
  • Perk: Fully Loaded

6. XM4 – 5.10%

After some of the most popular weapons such as the Stoner 63 and EM2 were brought down, the XM4 has climbed back into the meta.

The XM4 has always been a solid choice thanks to its decent TTK and low recoil. It’s much easier to use than the AK-47, so maybe a better choice for the majority of players. And with only a few attachment changes, the XM4 can become a great close-range weapon too.

  • Muzzle: Agency Supressor
  • Barrel: 13.5″ Task Force
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: STANAG 60 Rnd

5. MAC-10 – 5.12%

Boasting an incredibly fast fire rate, rapid TTK, and next to no recoil, the MAC-10 is the obvious choice for a secondary weapon in Warzone Season 6.

When paired with a long-range Assault Rifle such as the AK-47, or a Sniper like the Kar98k, the MAC-10 is the perfect pocket weapon. Even though the MAC-10 was nerfed months ago via Season 4’s Reloaded update, it has barely dropped in popularity.

Most popular MAC-10 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 5.9″ Task Force
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Stock: Raider Stock
  • Ammunition: STANAG 53 Rnd Drum

4. OTs 9 – 6.03%

Although previously underrated, many players have now learned of the OTs 9’s power. Both JGOD and NICKMERCS have sung its praises in the past, and Raven has nerfed it several times.

The OTs 9’s kill-to-death ratio is a testament to its power, with the most popular loadout boasting almost a 2 K/D. The nerfs don’t appear to have tamed the beast, and the OTs 9 is Warzone Season 6’s most popular SMG.

Most popular OTs 9 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 8.1″ Task Force
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
  • Ammunition: VDV 40 Rnd Fast Mag

3. Cold War AK-47 – 8.32%

With all of the weapons that got nerfed in the most recent update, Cold War’s AK-47 has returned to the meta. It has always been a powerful choice but the damage profile and recoil control of some of the other Assault Rifles pushed it back from the top spot.

Now, however, the AK-47 is one of the best weapons in the game. With controllable recoil and solid damage, it’s well worth giving the AK another chance. Plus, it’s especially effective in the Iron Trials 84 mode, where players have even more health.

Most popular Cold War AK-47 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 20″ Spetsnaz RPK Barrel
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
  • Ammunition: 45 Rnd

2. Swiss K31 – 8.79%

Raven Software has been hard at work fine-tuning Cold War’s Sniper Rifles in Warzone and now, they seem to have got the Swiss K31 into a great spot.

Its direct counterpart is the Kar98k, as they’re both quick and highly versatile snipers. Not much sets the two apart now, and some even prefer the Swiss. Its high bullet velocity means that you hardly need to lead shots, and its magazine gives it a solid reload time compared to the Kar98k.

Most popular Swiss K31 Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 24.9″ Combat Recon
  • Laser: SWAT 5mw Laser Sight
  • Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip
  • Rear Grip: Serpent Grip

1. Kar98k – 9.41%

If you’re looking for a fast Sniper Rifle that’s easy to use, the Kar98k is the weapon for you. Although technically a Marksman Rifle, this bolt-action WW2 rifle is arguably Warzone’s best sniper.

The Kar98k has a solid ADS speed, and with its high bullet velocity, you’ll find it much easier to use than most other Sniper Rifles. You can effectively quickscope in close-range situations, and by leading your targets, hit some nasty longshots.

The Kar98k is the better choice for controller players, as TrueGameData discovered that it has more aim assist than the Swiss.

Most popular Kar98k Warzone loadout

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Singuard Custom 27.6″ Barrel
  • Laser: Tac Laser
  • Optic: Sniper Scope
  • Stock: FTAC Sport Comb

If you’re yet to use any of these weapons in Verdansk ’84 and Rebirth Island, give them a try with these attachments.

How to fix Packet Loss & Packet Burst in Warzone Season 6

Packet Loss and Packet Burst have been giving Warzone Season 6 players serious connection issues, so here are some solutions for the issue.

Published

on

Packet Loss and Packet Burst have been a continuous problem for Call of Duty: Warzone players, so here are some solutions to fix your connection problems and reduce stuttering and lag in Season 6.

Although Warzone Season 6 has brought some much-need updates to the game’s map and weapon balance, more and more players have been reporting connection issues. Packet Loss and Packet Burst, marked by the yellow or red squares on the left of your screen, will make your game feel laggy and stuttery.

There are many reasons you could be receiving Packet Loss and Packet Burst on Warzone and it could be fixed by simply using a wired connection, or it may be a deeper problem with your game files.

No solution is guaranteed to be the be-all and end-all fix, but some of these solutions may help to alleviate your problems.

Use a wired connection

Using a wired connection may seem like an obvious solution, but it can do wonders in fixing lag and Packet Loss. Connecting your console or PC to your router with an ethernet cable will be faster, cause less interference, and generally be more secure than using a wireless connection.

If you were already using a wired connection, or this hasn’t helped the problem, read on for more possible solutions.

Set your NAT Type to Open

You’ll have one of three NAT (Network Address Translation) Types: Open, Moderate, or Strict (Xbox and PC), or Type 1, Type 2, or Type 3 (PlayStation). Ideally, you want your NAT Type to be at Open/Type 1 to get the most reliable connection while playing Warzone.

If your NAT Type is set to Moderate/Type 2 or Strict/Type 3, you can troubleshoot the issue and fix the problem. This solution, called ‘Port Forwarding’, comes from Activision Support.

  1. Type in your routers IP address into your browser
  2. Log in to your router using either the router’s default username or password, or the one you created yourself
  3. Find your router’s ‘Port Forwarding’ section
  4. Put the IP address of your PC or console in the correct box in your router
  5. Enter the correct TCP and UDP ports for your game in the corresponding boxes. Here are all of the required port codes:
  • PC
    • TCP: 3074,27014-27050
    • UDP: 3074,3478,4379-4380,27000-27031,27036
  • PlayStation 4
    • TCP: 1935,3478-3480
    • UDP: 3074,3478-3479
  • Xbox One
    • TCP: 3074
    • UDP: 88,500,3074-3075,3544,4500
  • PlayStation 5
    • TCP: 1935,3478-3480
    • UDP: 3074,3478-3479
  • Xbox Series X|S
    • TCP: 3074
    • UDP: 88,500,3074-3075,3544,4500

This will open your ports, and allow Call of Duty: Warzone to have an open NAT Type, making for a more reliable connection, and hopefully alleviate Packet Loss and Packet Bursts.

Set the correct number of cores (PC only)

This solution is also tried and tested for fixing low FPS issues in Warzone, but there are reports it can also fix Packet Burst problems.

Modern Warfare’s files can sometimes default to an incorrect value for how many cores your system has. This causes hitching and stuttering, and will likely be the cause of Packet Burst.

Here’s how to set the correct core value for Modern Warfare/Warzone:

  1. Open ‘Task Manager’ and select the ‘Performance’ tab
  2. Click on ‘CPU’ and on the right you’ll see how many cores your PC has (e.g 6)
  3. Open ‘Modern Warfare’ in ‘Documents’
  4. Select the ‘players’ folder
  5. Click on ‘adv_options’
  6. Set the ‘RenderWorkerCount’ to equal your number of cores
  7. Save and Exit and you should see a marked improvement in Warzone performance
  8. If note, read on for more methods

Check your drivers are up to date (PC only)

There are also some reports that ensuring your drivers are up to date will reduce Packet Loss and Packet Burst. An out-of-date driver can cause many issues, including low FPS, so it’s worth checking out anyway.

Here’s how to check that your drivers are up to date.

How to update NVIDIA graphics driver

If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, the GeForce experience app will handle this for you.

  1. Download ‘GeForce’ experience through NVIDIA.com
  2. Open ‘GeForce Experience’
  3. Select the ‘Drivers’ tab
  4. Click ‘check for updates’ in the upper right corner
  5. If an update is available, follow the steps

How to update AMD graphics driver

If you have an AMD GPU, you can use the Radeon Settings to update your drivers.

  1. Right-click on your desktop
  2. Select ‘AMD Radeon Settings’
  3. Click on the ‘Home’ icon
  4. Click ‘New Updates’ on the bottom left
  5. Select ‘check for update’
  6. If an update is available, follow the steps

Hopefully one of these solutions has fixed your Packet Loss and Packet Burst issues in Modern Warfare and Warzone!

Raven Software is yet to officially address the issues players have been having, so stay tuned to Charlie INTEL for all Call of Duty updates.
