Activision and EA reach Settlement over Infinity Ward Case

Activision and EA have apparently reached a settlement in the Infinity Ward court case involving EA out of court.

LA Times reporter Ben Fritz tweeted a joint statement from ATVI and EA: “Activision and EA have agreed to put this matter behind them.”

“The companies said at a hearing today in California state court in Los Angeles that they will file a settlement agreement in court. The judge presiding over the case denied Activision’s bid to delay a trial over claims in a lawsuit brought by two creators of the video game,” said Bloomberg.

The EA court case began when Activision countersued, naming EA as a defendant and accusing the company of trying to pry the developers away while they were still under contract.

The lawsuit on May 29 now only includes West, Zampella, and the IW employee group and is still set to begin that date.

We’ll update as more details emerge.
