Activision confirms Call of Duty 2020 still set to release this fall
Activision has confirmed that the new Call of Duty title is still set to release this fall. There were some concerns and discussions about the possibility of the game being delayed due to the impact of COVID-19, but it looks like the company is on track to deliver the new Call of Duty title this fall.
The company confirmed this news during their Q1 2020 Financial Call on May 5, with Activision Blizzard executives confirming that the new ‘premium Call of Duty title’ is coming this fall and continues to generate high interest internally with testing.
Activision Blizzard President and Chief Operating Officer said that the game “already looks great” and is “on track for release later this year.”
Activision has not yet officially confirmed which development studio is working on the 2020 game, although it’s practically an open secret that Treyarch are working on the title with Sledgehammer Games.
Rumors have suggested that the new title is set in the Cold War era and is connected to the Black Ops universe.
Details on a reveal timeline for the game have not been disclosed, but it should be this month – as with all previous Call of Duty title seeing their reveals by the end of May.
