Activision’s Senior Director of Global Digital and Mobile sales Jon Estanislao spoke at the DMW Games conference recently and discussed about Call of Duty and their mobile approach. Right now, Activision is lagging behind other publishers (such as EA) in delivering a great experience on mobile devices in terms of games.
Activision currently offers watered-down ports of Call of Duty experience on iOS/Android. Their offering is only Call of Duty Zombies games, which is available for $4.99 on App Store and Android Marketplace.
ATVI’s Jon Estanislao said that the sales for these games are “okay.” But he further elaborated and said at the conference,
“Going forward for us, how do we really take that Call of Duty experience, what is the essence of it? These kinds of grandiose, immerse experiences–how do we move that to mobile or tablet? From a development perspective, we’re investing a lot more in understanding how to marry that together with how customers expect to play on those devices,” he said, “We’re definitely looking to reach out to our core audience and engage them beyond their TV or PC and then give them new experiences around Call of Duty that are unique for that device.”
He went on to say that ATVI’s future experiences on mobile will “evolve” how customers interact with Call of Duty brand.

How to get free double Battle Pass XP by enabling Call of Duty Two-Factor Authentication
Activision are offering Call of Duty players free Double Pass XP Tokens for enabling Two-Factor Authentication and protecting their account.
Call of Duty players can add an additional, much-needed layer of security to their Activision account by enabling Two-Factor Authentication, and also get some free Double Battle Pass XP Tokens as a reward.
With unified progression across Cold War, Modern Warfare, and Warzone, your Call of Duty account is likely filled with a plethora of valuable cosmetic items. Unfortunately, there are people out there who will try to steal your account, taking away all of your progress and purchased items.
If the worst happens and your account is breached, you can check out our complete guide on how to get your stolen Activision account back, but you should enable Two-Factor Authentication to reduce the risk.
As an incentive to activate Two-Factor Authentication, Activision is offering players two hours worth of Double Battle Pass XP Tokens.
Here’s how to enable 2FA, secure your account, and get some free Double XP Tokens.
How to enable CoD Two-Factor Authentication
- Go to Activision’s Two-Factor Authentication page to start.
- Select ‘Set Up Two-Factor Authentication’
- Log in to your Call of Duty account through your Activision login, or a linked PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or Battle.net account.
- Download ‘Google Authenticator’ for your phone, available on the App Store or Google Play Store. Or, you can use another authentication app of your choice.
- Press the ‘+’ icon on the top left of the Google Authenticator, and scan the QR code displayed on the page.
- Enter the code in the ‘Google Authenticator’ app to finalize the link.
After you’ve completed the process, be sure to log in to your account one more time just to verify the process was correct.
Once this is done and activated, when you log in to your Activision or Call of Duty account, you will be asked to use the Google Authenticator passcode in addition to your regular password to log in.
After you set up Two-Factor Authentication, you’ll immediately get access to your two, 1-hour 2x Battle Pass XP Tokens. And if you already had 2FA enabled, you’ll receive your Tokens when they roll out on May 28.

Two Infinity Ward campaign directors depart studio after 7 years
Infinity Ward’s two lead campaign narrative directors, Taylor Kurosaki and Jacob Minkoff, have announced they have left Infinity Ward.
Kurosaki and Minkoff joined Infinity Ward back in August 2014 from Naughty Dog, where the pair were key leads in some of Naughty Dog’s biggest games. Both are credited for working on the Uncharted series for PlayStation, included Uncharted 4.
In a tweet posted on May 27, Kurosaki announced that him and Minkoff have left Infinity Ward “earlier this year.” It’s not clear the exact date for when the pair left the studio.
He says in the tweet that they both got a “rare and exciting new opportunity” to pursue but did not state what their new adventure would be.
Kurosaki and Minkoff were the two key individuals behind the story of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. During our visit to Infinity Ward in 2019, the pair were the first to introduce their vision for bringing a grounded, real story for Modern Warfare.
Infinite Warfare’s campaign was well received as one of the best campaigns in the Call of Duty franchise, and Modern Warfare’s story was also highly appreciated.
Modern Warfare has went on to become one of the best selling Call of Duty games of all time.
What this means for the studio remains to be seen. Infinity Ward is probably well into the development of their next Call of Duty title, which will most likely release in Fall 2022.
Infinity Ward has not commented on who will be taking over the narrative direction of the studio going forward.
