Activision’s Senior Director of Global Digital and Mobile sales Jon Estanislao spoke at the DMW Games conference recently and discussed about Call of Duty and their mobile approach. Right now, Activision is lagging behind other publishers (such as EA) in delivering a great experience on mobile devices in terms of games.

Activision currently offers watered-down ports of Call of Duty experience on iOS/Android. Their offering is only Call of Duty Zombies games, which is available for $4.99 on App Store and Android Marketplace.

ATVI’s Jon Estanislao said that the sales for these games are “okay.” But he further elaborated and said at the conference,

“Going forward for us, how do we really take that Call of Duty experience, what is the essence of it? These kinds of grandiose, immerse experiences–how do we move that to mobile or tablet? From a development perspective, we’re investing a lot more in understanding how to marry that together with how customers expect to play on those devices,” he said, “We’re definitely looking to reach out to our core audience and engage them beyond their TV or PC and then give them new experiences around Call of Duty that are unique for that device.”

He went on to say that ATVI’s future experiences on mobile will “evolve” how customers interact with Call of Duty brand.
