Activision Blizzard CEO says he wants to build the “ESPN of video games” with their Media Networks division

Following today’s announcement of Activision Blizzard acquiring Major League Gaming, Activision Blizzard CEO spoke with The New York Times about the purchase stating that the company wants to expand their Media Networks division.

Kotick stated that he wants to expand the reach of eSports globally and that their new Media Networks Division partnered with MLG has the capabilities of doing so. He stated that the company wants to build the “ESPN of video games.”

“I have a simple vision for this,” Mr. Kotick said in a phone interview. “I want to build the ESPN of video games.”
