Activision CEO says it was “easy” to fire the Infinity Ward co-founders; NO plans for Call of Duty Movie
Activision Blizzard CEO Robert Kotick was interviewed and profiled by The New York Times today. In the interview Kotick was discussing Infinity Ward’s issues back in 2010. The Co-Founders of Infinity Ward studio Vince Zampella and Jason West both were fired from Infinity Ward in 2010 after they got in a big law suite claim with Activision over a fraud issue.
Now in the interview with Kotick he claims it was an easy decision to fire Infinity Ward co-founders.
“You find out two executives are planning to break their contracts, keep the money you gave them, and steal 40 employees. What do you do? You fire them..” Kotick said.
Kotick also stated that he has no plans to allow Call of Duty to become a movie, and has turned down many of the studio’s offers to make one.
