Activision SEC filing says company plans to release “remastered versions of titles from our library of IP“ in 2018

Activision filled their latest SEC filing today detailing the company’s operations, financials, and expected future results based on releases and content plans.

In that filing there was one interesting paragraph, talking about the upcoming releases from Activision Blizzard; specifically, what’s on the line for 2018. The paragraph confirms a new Call of Duty title later this year (from Treyarch), but the filing also says that the company plans to have “releases of remastered versions of titles from our library of IP” this year as well.

There’s no information on what remasters Activision has planned for 2018, other than a possible Spyro Trilogy remake, which was rumored by Kotaku UK earlier this month. For the Spyro Remake, Kotaku UK said Activision will release it in September with a March announcement. Activision has not commented on that rumor yet.

Activision has not announced any details about any upcoming remaster for any of other IPs. The first Call of Duty remaster the company ever released was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s remastered version in 2016 alongside Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Activision also released a ‘Crash Bandicoot: N Sane Trilogy’ remaster in 2017 for PlayStation 4.
