Black Ops 2 Voice Actors to visit Armed Forces at USO base

Forbes has reported that Activision will be donating Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 copies to military bases and hospitals worldwide – including the Royal Air Force Lakenheath in the United Kingdom and the USO Warrior Center at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.

Activision already helps troops with their Call of Duty Endowment program, but now they are extending their appreciation.

Activision also sent three voice actors of Black Ops 2: Kamar de los Reyes – Raul Menedez -, James Burns – Sgt. Frank Woods -, and Rich McDonald – David Mason –  to get a tour of the USO base.

Kamar de los Reyes said to Forbes:

“We play at war on the safety of our sound stages, with imaginary weapons and pretend enemies. These men and women face the real thing every day, we want to honor that fact and give the real heroes the attention they deserve,” said de los Reyes, who is back for his third USO tour. “I’ve always been humbled by the sacrifice our military and their families make every day to ensure our freedoms. I can’t wait to look these men and women in the eye and express to them in person how much we appreciate their service. It’s an honor that leaves me speechless.”

James C. Burns said:

“Seeing men and women of such high caliber fills me with optimism and confidence for our future. I can only hope to express the gratitude that is felt across the U.S. for their service. I also want to have conversations on how they plan to transition their skill set into the civilian workforce. I think they are a tremendous national resource which needs to be utilized effectively. And bringing attention to this is important. Aside from that, I love to exchange dialog from the game. Woods gets to say a lot of fun stuff and it’s a riot to hear it back from the players.”

Finally, McDonald said:

“I’m really looking forward to seeing the faces of our men and women hopefully light up in enjoyment. I want to shake their hands in gratitude and hear their stories and experiences. Most of all, I look forward to witnessing their camaraderie and competitiveness when it comes to playing Black Ops II. Call of Duty fans are fun to watch, especially when they are military.
