New CoD game for iOS called ‘Call of Duty: Strike Team’ now available; coming soon to Android

Earlier this year, Activision announced that the would be change their vision of what they will do for mobile games by delivering a new tailored Call of Duty experience specially for iOS. Today, The Blast Furnace released this new Call of Duty experience for mobile.

The Blast Furnace’s Studio Head, Mark Washbrook, said:

is all about giving a single player experience that is unlike anything else in the world in a way that matches the interests of players on-the-go,” said Mark Washbrook, Studio Head of The Blast Furnace. “By giving fans the option to play in either first-person or third-person views, and to switch between them on the fly, we’ve really opened the doors for gamers to have a fun and entertaining gameplay experience with , because they can play the game the way they want.”

Developed by Activision’s mobile team studio formed last year called The Blast Furnace, the game is called ‘Call of Duty: Strike Team’. This game features a first and third person Call of Duty experience for mobile gamers.

Call of Duty®: Strike Team delivers an all-new, first-person and third-person Call of Duty® experience built from the ground up for mobile and tablet devices. Fully customize your squad’s loadouts and abilities before leading them into combat in diverse gameplay environments. Call of Duty®: Strike Team features the revolutionary ability to dynamically switch from run-and-gun first-person view to reconnaissance and coordinated squad attacks in third-person view.

The year is 2020. Tensions run high amongst the world’s superpowers. In a surprise attack, the U.S. finds themselves in a war with an unknown enemy. Your mission is to lead a Joint Special Operations Team in a global effort to hunt down those responsible.

The game features to sets of solo play modes:

CAMPAIGN MODE: Experience an immersive single-player campaign full of epic, cinematic moments in diverse locations around the world.

SURVIVAL MODE: Put your skills to the test as you fight off waves of increasingly difficult enemies. Compete against family, friends and the Call of Duty®: Strike Team community for leaderboard domination.

You can purchase the app now for $6.99 on iOS. The app works for iPhone 4S or later, iPad 3rd generation or later, and iPod Touch 5th generation or later. The app will be available on Android devices later this fall. More announcements regarding that are coming soon.
