Black Ops Cold War season one leaks are surfacing across social media.

Season 1 leaks for Black Ops Cold War are out in the wild, here’s a recap of them all.

Black Ops Cold War Season One is coming in December. Leaks have surfaced all over the internet regarding content coming to the game, so here’s a breakdown.

Christmas Nuketown

Nuketown will be receiving a make-over for the Holiday season with festive holiday decorations that will glow bright under the darkness of the night. This will be the first time Treyarch has a holiday twist on a map, similar to how Infinity Ward did Christmas Crash for the Modern Warfare games.

Raid

Apparently, Raid will be returning in Season 1 as one of the new maps. Raid was a beloved classic from Black Ops 2 that was later remade in Black Ops 3 as a map called Empire and appeared in Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode.

We don’t know for sure if this is coming this season, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Treyarch followed the trend.

Five New Maps

In another image circulating, there are a total of 4 maps coming to the game. One takes place on the set of a game show, presumably a gunfight map, next up there’s a map that takes place in the Berlin tunnels, third we have a map that takes place in a rocket test facility, a large mall, and last there’s a map that takes place in what appears to be the KGB headquarters.

Rebirth Island

For Warzone specifically, it appears Alcatraz will be returning from Blackout. Players will be able to drop into the prison island and fight until the last man is standing. It will be hectic, especially with the gulag system if it is activated.

In Blackout there were respawns on this map, so maybe we’ll see that mechanic return as well.

New Cosmetics

Alongside all of these leaks were tons of drops about cosmetics coming to the game. There will be a large selection of mastercraft weapon packs and operator bundles for use in both Modern Warfare and Warzone. Here’s a breakdown of all of them.

  • Zenya Operator Bundle
  • Mint Condition AK-74u Mastercraft Bundle
  • Mistletoe Meetup Bundle
  • Came To Sleigh
  • Happy Holidays Free Bundle
  • Tracer Pack: Violet Anime
  • Anime Assassin
  • Tracer Pack Bulldozer Operator Bundle
  • Gilded Age
  • Shock Value Striker bundle (Might be Warzone)
  • Disavowed Assassin Bundle
  • Tracer Pack: Rogue (Red themed)
  • Retro Renegade Mastercraft Bundle – KSP/FFAR
  • Vehicle Pack: Neon Lights
  • Skins for both the Milano and a new SMG
  • Funny Guy bundle
  • Rebirth Island Free Bundle
  • Rocket Science Mastercraft Bundle for the Ak-47

It’s not immediately clear if all of these bundles will be available for use in Modern Warfare and Warzone, but it seems to be a focus on Infinity Ward and Treyarch to integrate all the packs across games. We’ll find out in Season 1.

Ranking all Black Ops Cold War maps worst to best

Treyarch’s latest FPS has lots of different maps to battle on, so we have decided to judge them by ranking them all from worst to best.

bocw maps ranked

Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer offering features many different and dangerous maps for players to compete across. To try and ascertain their quality, we’ve decided to rank them in order from worst to the best.

Despite initially only launching with eight normal maps (discounting Fireteam maps), BOCW now contains 11 options on which to house skirmishes. Each map generally has something that makes it exude personality, for better or for worse, and we’ve done our best to break each one down and rank them in ascending order.

We’ve already done a complete Black Ops Cold War map guides with tips for each level. Now we will rank each of them starting with the least desirable option until we get to our sacred number one spot.

#11 – Miami

Miami actually has some decent spots on it, but its lack of visibility is something that simply cannot be overlooked. It’s also extremely open with lots of locations that kind of just hit a weird dead-end.

#10 – Cartel

Cartel without its giant bushes obscuring the map would rank higher on our list. However, it sadly does contain the hellish eye-sores that plague most games. For that reason, it has to remain low on the list.

#9 – Armada

The idea of Armada is probably a little better than its actual execution. It definitely has plenty of fun moments especially skirmishes under the ship.

But it’s too easy for people in the middle section to trap the other team in their spawn.

#8 – Satellite

There’s something about Satellite we can’t quite put our finger on that stops it from being better. Like Armada, it suffers from “middle domination”.

If you have it, it’s fantastic, if you don’t, you’re in trouble. However, Satellite is a cunning little web of intertwining mini-channels that does provide you with options.

#7 – Garrison

A very Call of Duty-style map with a big warehouse featuring tanks everywhere. All three channels are viable options with the whole map being used at all times. It’s not spectacular, but it’s not bad either.

#6 – Checkmate

Again, it bears a striking resemblance to Garrison (maybe too much) in that you’re in a gigantic hangar. Only this time there’s a lengthy plane plonked right in the middle of it. Action in the plane is generally 50/50, and it’s all-around the plane where the best action takes place.

#5 – Moscow

Wherever you spawn in Moscow, it always feels like there are umpteen ways to go. There are multiple hot areas for combat including the golden statue, the escalators, and outside with the opposing windows. It’s a great map that is equally liberating.

#4 – Nuketown ’84

What hasn’t been said about Nuketown already? It’s fast, it’s frantic, lesser-skilled players can achieve high kill counts, and it’s just fun chaos.

The broken spawns are always a sore point, but on a map this small, we think it’s easy to dismiss.

#3 – Raid

It might speak volumes to people that two of the top four are remakes, but what remakes they are! Raid is aesthetically pleasing across the whole map, it’s extremely well-designed and it’s generally fair. You will rarely find someone dominate Raid as it’s rife with tight corners and many duels that can go either way.

#2 – Crossroads

Just missing out on victory is Crossroads. This map is simply fantastic and a delight that dominates nearly every map vote.

The cover feels perfect and the environment is highly volatile, making for high-scoring games. The one drawback is how exposed the C Flag spawn is – people can spawn two or three times without getting a chance to blink.

#1 – The Pines

The newest, original Call of Duty map also happens to be the best that Black Ops Cold War has to offer. We can find no faults with this homage to a classic film. It’s generally so well-balanced and interesting.

Whether you’re fighting through all the different shops and maintenance areas or engaging in some dangerous dining duels, The Pines is an intricately designed masterpiece.

That’s our official ranking of all of Black Ops Cold War’s maps. Did any of these rank higher, or lower, than you thought they would?

Please be sure to let us know and tell us what you think the best maps are.

Crazy Black Ops Cold War glitch turns Raid into Rainbow Road

One confused BOCW player encountered a very bright bug that turned a section of Raid into a great copy of Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road.

One CoD player could have easily been mistaken into thinking he was playing Mario Kart instead of Black Ops Cold War. A bizarre texture glitch effectively turned Raid into the legendary Rainbow Road track.

Have you ever been so bored that you stopped to wonder what a Call of Duty and Mario crossover would look like? Well, now you don’t have to as a colorful glitch has made this somewhat of reality on BOCW’s Raid map.

The footage was captured and shared on the official Black Ops Cold War subreddit, allowing a wider audience to see something that needs to be believed.

The trippy video starts off pretty innocuously, but eagle-eyed viewers will already notice that something is amiss with the map’s trees in the first couple of seconds of the match starting.

After darting off with a Sniper Rifle in his hand, the Reddit user quickly turned to his left to scope out the kitchen, when his eyes were met by a dazzling array of colors and shapes. “Do you guys see this?” he asked, hoping that one of his teammates could see the bizarre scene that was taking place on his screen. “Do I have a texture glitch right now? I’m in like a disco right now!”

Of course, with Black Ops Cold War taking place during the 1980s, a disco feels like a logical next step, although when the lights are hitting you during a tense match, it’s probably not ideal.

The notoriously difficult Rainbow Road course would be proud of this as the colors glow and bounce off of everything, including the Sniper Rifle itself.

We can only imagine how distracting this was for the player, and we would love to know if the issue persisted throughout the whole match.

It also makes us wonder if we need full-on Rainbow matches in Call of Duty, and if CoD should somehow do a weird crossover with Mario Kart.
