Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is filled with obvious references to other franchises like Star Wars. You can also stumble across other secrets, such as nods to the Jurassic Park franchise. Here’s what we found.

Fortnite is well known for its crossovers with other franchises. Season 4 had a Marvel theme, allowing you to use different superheroes, abilities, and cosmetics. Now, The Mandalorian is headlining the latest update with brand new skins, cosmetics, and missions. You can find other references hidden throughout Season 5 as well.

Kratos from God of War has come to the game as a new skin, and there are rumors that Master Chief from Halo will join him as well. You may not know that the game also has some subtle Jurassic World references for all you dinosaur fanatics.

If you head over to The Stealthy Stronghold, you’ll notice that it looks similar to an enclosure from Jurassic Park. In fact, it’s made to resemble the area where the Indominus Rex was held in the movie. Things get even more interesting once you head inside.

When you explore the interior of the structure, you’ll come across some cages. Jurassic Park fans will recognize these as the enclosures where they kept the cloned dinosaurs. If you look at them closely, then you’ll notice that they resemble the ones that held Velociraptors.

These are easy to spot as they are dotted around the POI. One interesting thing to note is that the containers are open, and there are no animals inside them. This means that the beasts either broke out or were set free to roam the grasslands.

The references don’t stop at the cages. If you explore the South-West part of the enclosure, you’ll find helicopter wreckage crashed into a tree. This could be a reference to Simon Masrani’s death in the first Jurassic World film when the Indominus Rex ordered the Pteranodons to bring down the chopper.

You can also earn a special achievement while you’re in the facility. If you wear one of the Dino Guard outfits and get a kill in the Stealthy Stronghold, then you’ll unlock the Clever Girl legacy achievement. This is a nod to Robert Muldoon’s iconic line from the first Jurassic Park film.

The developers left these for hardcore fans of the franchise, as they reference both the new movies and the 1993 classic that started it all.

Epic Games hasn’t given any hint that they’re planning a dinosaur-centric crossover anytime soon, so these are most likely just little Easter eggs for fans. If we learn more or encounter a dinosaur, then we’ll update you.
