Modern Warfare 2’s Ranked Play comes with its own set of rules and certain weapons, Equipment, and attachments are banned from the competitive mode. Here’s the Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play restricted list.

Modern Warfare 2 players are absolutely loving everything Ranked Play has to offer, from climbing the Skill Divisions and Ranks to securing exclusive rewards throughout Season 2 Reloaded.

Those looking to dominate will undoubtedly look to utilize the best Ranked Play weapons and loadouts. Modern Warfare 2 offers a ton of weapons to choose from, but Ranked Play comes with its very own set of rules that blocks and restricts the use of certain weapons.

To stay up to date with all of the bans and restrictions in Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play, we’ve gathered them all in a list for you to view.

Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play restricted weapons list

The Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play restricted list is directly connected to the official CDL ruleset. The Call of Duty League utilizes a specific set of rules and any changes to the rules show up immediately in Ranked Play.

Modern Warfare 2 players cannot use certain weapons in Ranked Play. Most of the weapons on the restricted list are banned due to their overpowered nature like the M4 and Kastov-74u.

In Season 2 the ISO Hemlock wreaked havoc before receiving a Ranked Play ban. Most recently the Kastov 762 was added to the list.

Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play attachment bans

Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play fans must also adhere to certain attachment restrictions. Once again, banned attachments are likely considered overpowered and restrictions are meant to balance the game.

You’ll want to note that as of the Season 2 Reloaded update on March 15, weapon tuning has been restricted. Players can no longer tweak their attachments with Modern Warfare 2’s weapon tuning feature.

Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play Equipment restrictions & bans

Despite the arrival of a new Flash Grenade setting that turns the blinding white flash effect into a dark screen, the Equipment remains banned in Ranked Play. The main issue lies with the duration of the flash.
