Every Warzone Season 2 map change: Shipwreck POI & Weapon Silos

Verdansk has some major map changes in Warzone Season 2, with the new Shipwreck POI, three Weapon Silos, and more.

Published

on

Black Ops Cold War & Warzone Season 2 are finally here, and while there’s no new map just yet, Verdansk has undergone some significant changes, with the ship crashing onto shore and new Weapon Silos popping across the map.

Seasonal updates are always some of the most exciting patches to drop for Warzone, and the Season 2 update is no different, bringing the new Outbreak Challenge Event, the new FARA 83 and LC10 guns, and some major changes to Verdansk.

Headlining these changes are the new Shipwreck POI that brings has brought hordes of undead zombies to the game, along with three massive Weapon Silos that are stocked with some seriously valuable loot. You can find a full breakdown of every Warzone Season 2 map change below.

Warzone Shipwreck POI

Warzone players have spotted the Vodianoy floating off the coast of Verdansk, and the cargo tanker has finally made land, crashing into the shore near Prison following the Season 2 update.

Marked as “Shipwreck” on the Season 2 map, the new POI is huge, giving players plenty of space to loot up and explore, but be warned: you’re not alone. The Vodianoy is infested with Zombies, ready and eager to tear you limb from limb if you get too close.

There is a reward for killing the undead though, as you’ll unlock new rewards thanks to the Outbreak event challenges, while some will drop a yellow key card that unlocks crates full of powerful loot.

Warzone Weapon Silos

Aslo included in the Season 2 update are three Missile Silos, which were discovered by “a team of Operators” according to Treyarch.

Found underneath Verdansk’s three war monuments, these locations are full of valuable loot, and while they may not look huge at first glance, they’re actually quite large, so it’ll be well worth taking a look through them. Don’t spend too long underground though, as you may end up getting trapped by the gas.

The three Weapon Silos are located at:

  • Jarvdinsk Spomenik above the Military Base
  • Zoszni Spomenik south east of Hills
  • Styor Sompenik in Park

We’ve marked all three Weapon Silos on the map below.

Sealed locations

While there are some new places for players to explore, Raven have decided to close some parts of the map off.

The most surprising of these is definitely Subway. These stations were introduced back in September 2020 with Warzone Season 6, and offered players a way to fast travel around the map. While few actually used the trains to move around, the stations themselves offered some decent loot and a place to hide during firefights.

Bunkers 00, 04, 05, 06, 09, and 11 have all been locked too, so you won’t be able to get inside these any longer. At the moment, it’s unclear whether these closed locations will ever reopen or not, but it’s possible that Raven could update their interiors and bring them back in the future.

That’s everything you need to know about Verdansk map changes in Warzone Season 2, and we’ll continue to update this article as any new updates are discovered. Stay tuned to CharlieINTEL for everything Warzone & Black Ops Cold War Season 2.

Warzone 2 leak claims long-awaited console FOV slider is coming to sequel

According to a top Warzone player’s leak, the long-awaited FOV slider could be available to Warzone 2 console players upon release.

A top Warzone player has claimed that Warzone 2 will come equipped with the highly requested FOV slider on console.

Activision announced that Warzone Season 5 will be the final season and major content release of the classic CoD battle royale. Despite the exciting new features coming in Season 5, players can’t help but look forward to Warzone 2.

In August, a leak revealed a possible release date for the battle royale sequel. This leaked date of November 16 has players extremely excited to discover the next chapter of Warzone. In addition, it seems like players could finally be getting their most desired feature that was missing from the original.

Console players have been asking for a Warzone FOV slider since the Verdansk days. Of course, the feature never made its way to Warzone, and with Season 5 being its finale, this will remain the case.

The good news is, that a top Warzone player by the name of Metaphor is now claiming that console players’ biggest wish will be fulfilled as an FOV slider is set to make its way to Warzone 2.

Interestingly enough Metaphor also claims that an FOV slider will be available to those on last-generation consoles as well. According to their source, the FOV slider will also feature in Modern Warfare 2 and DMZ.

While players weren’t shocked to see the feature’s rumored inclusion for multiplayer, the leak has given players hope that Warzone 2 could be a smoother experience than Warzone: “multiplayer i’d expect as Vanguard had it, i hope this means Warzone 2 is optimised better.”

Of course, this raises another question concerning the optimization of Warzone. Some questioned “how the hell a fat PS4 or a VCR xbox one from almost 10 years ago is going to run WZ2 on 120 FOV with consistent frames?,” to which Metaphor replied, “it won’t.”

This indicates that Metaphor believes either last generation consoles will not have a maximum FOV of 120, or that they’ll have to sacrifice frame rates to access wider FOVs. Being able to access 120 FOV with consistent frames seems too good to be true when it comes to last-generation hardware.

Keep in mind that these are just leaks, so we’ll have to wait and see what’s in store for Warzone 2 console players. However, if these early claims turn out to be true, players could be pleased to finally receive the top item on their wishlist.

How to use Doomsday Station in Warzone & unlock unique cosmetic

The Doomsday Station is making its way to Caldera with the Warzone Season 5 update, and here’s how the device works.

Published

on

Warzone Season 5’s new Doomsday Station device is set to shake up Caldera, so here’s how to use it to earn a unique cosmetic and in-game rewards.

Warzone Season 5 is sending off the battle royale with a bang thanks to the new weapons up for grabs, familiar villains returning, and new modes to discover. The new content doesn’t stop there as Raven Software are also introducing several new items for players to utilize.

One of these new items is the Doomsday Station, and it has the potential to shake up Warzone gameplay. Those who harness the power of the Doomsday Station could set themselves up for an easy battle royale victory, so let’s find out how it works.

Warzone Doomsday Station explained

Players who activate a Doomsday Station during the primary BR game mode will trigger a series of events on Caldera. After a Doomsday Station has been activated, enemy AI including soldiers and helicopters will arrive at your location for a direct assault.

It’ll be up to you and your teammates to remain close to the Doomsday Station and defend yourself against the oncoming attackers. If done successfully, players will earn a unique cosmetic reward as well as powerful in-game items.

Activating the Doomsday Station is not enough on its own and only those who survive the onslaught will receive the rewards. The cosmetic up for grabs is a Watch for your Operator, and while we don’t know which in-game items will act as rewards, they’re expected to change the flow of the game and set you up for a victory.

You’ll want to keep in mind that it will cost a total of $10,000 to activate the Doomsday Station, so saving up cash is a necessary step of the process. In addition, only one Doomsday Station will appear across Caldera per match. This practically guarantees that it will be a heavily contested location.

Speaking of location, the Doomsday Station will not appear in the same spot every match. Instead, it has multiple spawn locations, so you’ll have to keep an eye out and be ready for anything.

Warzone Season 5 Gulag inspired by fan-favorite Showers map

A brand-new Gulag is coming to Warzone in the Season 5 update, which is seemingly familiar to the classic Showers map.

Published

The Warzone Season 5 update will refresh the Gulag, and for the final season, it seems players will be getting a dose of nostalgia.

Warzone is coming to the end of its lifespan, with the Season 5 update looking to bring players one last hoorah before Warzone 2.

As well as a bunch of new weapons like the EX1 and Valois Revolver, Warzone players will also be getting a new Field Upgrade and Personal Supply Box Killstreak. While players try out this new content in-game, they will also notice a change in the Gulag.

The Gulag is an important space for players, as they will often find themselves trying to get back to the map and earn a victory. The layout for the Gulag has changed a lot over the seasons, but it seems Season 5 will be taking the Gulag back to its roots.

The Caldera Gulag for Warzone Season 5 will be a reimagined layout of the original Showers map. The Call of Duty blog states that players will be fighting it out in a “face-off pit inspired by an old favorite.”

Although it is not exactly confirmed, the image gives it away, as it is clearly one of the spawns of the classic Showers Gulag, but with a “new volcanic” theme.

Although it is reimagined, this will still be a nostalgic experience for players, as it is the original layout for Warzone’s second chance saloon. This may also spark some nostalgia for Verdansk, as players have been extremely eager to see the original Warzone Battle Royale map return.

There may be differences in the layout, as it has been reimagined, but as more details are revealed we will be sure to update you so stay tuned to Charlie Intel.
