The exciting new Apex Legends trailer for the upcoming Evolution Collection Event also happened to feature a new weapon – the Nemesis Burst AR.

Respawn Entertainment has been prone to the odd gaffe or two in the past as this isn’t the first time they have “accidentally” revealed something. In the Season 8 dev stream, they unknowingly showed off Fuse’s, the new Legend at the time, 30-30 Repeater Rifle.

Given that this has happened before, you do have to question if it is as accidental as it appears, but according to Respawn’s Director of Communications Ryan Rigney, the new Nemesis Burst AR isn’t due for some time.

The official Apex Legends Twitter posted and pinned a new Tweet containing the trailer for the new Evolution Collection Event that will start on September 14.

It will make some temporary changes to the game, add Rampart’s Heirloom to Apex, and definitely won’t add the new Nemesis Burst AR weapon.

Here’s what Ryan said about the potential new gun: “We accidentally leaked an unreleased gun in the new @PlayApex trailer AND in the patch notes, but it’s not actually ready for release any time soon.”

Just in case anyone had not spotted it in the official trailer, commenter Artur showed off a screenshot of the new weapon.

Eagle-eyed viewers will notice that the image is for the R-301, so it’s just a placeholder image for the time being. But it does lend credence to the fact that the gun is probably still some time away yet.

Apex Legends Season 10 introduced the Rampage LMG, and it’s taken the game by storm with many players opting to use it in Arenas, and acquire it in battle royale.

So we wouldn’t expect to see the Nemesis Burst AR for some time, possibly until the launch of Apex Legends Season 11.
