The Apex Legends Season 13 update patch notes detail some major buffs to the helmet protective item that will help players endure greater damage than before.

Apex Legends Season 13 features plenty of new content for players to explore, including some major changes to Storm Point and Ranked Leagues as well as buffs and nerfs for various weapons.

Helmets have been a point of controversy in the Apex Legends community, with many players calling for changes to the protective item. Now, the Season 13 update has added a major helmet buff.

Apex Legends players had been frustrated that the in-game helmets provided them with little protection against enemy headshots. Now, the Season 13 update patch notes list an increase in headshot damage reduction for Blue and Purple helmet rarities.

Here are the helmet buffs in the Apex Legends Season 13 patch notes:

  • Blue helmet headshot damage reduction increased from 40% to 50%
  • Purple helmet headshot damage reduction increased from 50% to 65%

Since Season 13 also brought new Kraber nerfs, players with Blue, Purple, or Gold helmet rarities along with a red evo shield will be able to survive headshots and stay in the fight for a while longer.

While this may seem like it makes things a bit too easy for players, the developers were able to balance things out by greatly reducing the spawn rate for shield cells and syringes in Apex Legends Season 13.

Since both of these items will spawn 18% less often in the new season, players must still stay vigilant after surviving headshots. These changes will likely have a great impact on how you approach each battle.
