Apex Legends Season 12 is finally here and console players have reported that they’re experiencing massive lag on the new “Sabotaged” map, prompting to Respawn promise a fix.

The reworked Olympus map is one of the most notable additions in Apex Legends Season 12, with many players jumping into the game to explore the new changes, which include brand-new POIs.

While PC players have been able to enjoy the new “Sabotaged” map, console players have reportedly been suffering from major FPS drops caused by a lack of optimization, and the developers have responded to this.

After a large number of complaints from console players, the Apex Legends developers have reassured fans that they’re aware of these issues and a fix for them is already on its way to the game.

Just a few hours after the new season dropped, Respawn tweeted: “Heads up, legends: We’re aware of and investigating an issue causing frame rate loss on Olympus for our PS4, Xbox 1, and Switch players.”

At the time of writing, it’s unclear exactly how long it will take to implement this fix, but it will hopefully work and bring console players back up to their baseline 60 FPS when they explore the reworked Olympus.

Season 12 brought a plethora of exciting new content for players to enjoy, including the new Legend Mad Maggie, but console players can’t fully enjoy everything in the new update until Respawn fix this problem.

The FPS issues in Season 12 have also caused several players to eagerly await a fully upgraded version of Apex Legends for the newest generation of consoles, hopefully without any lag.
